We study initial-state radiation events, e+ e- --> gammaISR pi+ pi- J/psi, with data collected with the BABAR detector. We observe an accumulation of events near 4.26 GeV/c2 in the invariant-mass spectrum of pi+ pi- J/psi. Fits to the mass spectrum indicate that a broad resonance with a mass of about 4.26 GeV/c2 is required to describe the observed structure. The presence of additional narrow resonances cannot be excluded. The fitted width of the broad resonance is 50 to 90 MeV/c2, depending on the fit hypothesis.  相似文献

We observe a narrow enhancement near 2m(p) in the invariant mass spectrum of pp pairs from radiative J/psi-->gammapp decays. No similar structure is seen in J/psi-->pi(0)pp decays. The results are based on an analysis of a 58 x 10(6) event sample of J/psi decays accumulated with the BESII detector at the Beijing electron-positron collider. The enhancement can be fit with either an S- or P-wave Breit-Wigner resonance function. In the case of the S-wave fit, the peak mass is below 2m(p) at M=1859(+3)(-10) (stat)+5-25(syst) MeV/c(2) and the total width is Gamma<30 MeV/c(2) at the 90% confidence level. These mass and width values are not consistent with the properties of any known particle.  相似文献

Approximately 100 000 four-prong antiproton annihilations in hydrogen were measured. A clean, unbiased sample of 842 K+K?π+π? events was obtained. This reaction is dominated by K1(~45%) and ?0(~20%) production, with smaller amounts of A20(~15%) and ?(~5%) production. 25% of the reactions involved double resonance production. No significant three-body resonance production is observed.  相似文献

We have made a study of the coherent reaction K+d → K0π+d at 2 GeV/c, using data obtained in the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory 25 inch bubble chamber. The cross section for this reaction is 324 ± 25 μb, after correction for invisible K0 decays. This reaction is dominated primarily by vector exchange. We determine the parameters of the ω trajectory to be αω = (0.33 ± 0.04) + t.  相似文献

We present a measurement of the cross section of the process e(+)e(-)-->pi(+)pi(-)psi(2S) from threshold up to 8 GeV center-of-mass energy using events containing initial-state radiation, produced at the SLAC PEP-II e(+)e(-) storage rings. The study is based on 298 fb(-1) of data recorded with the BABAR detector. A structure is observed in the cross section not far above threshold, near 4.32 GeV. We also investigate the compatibility of this structure with the Y(4260) previously reported by this experiment.  相似文献

The decay J/psi-->NNpi provides an effective isospin 1/2 filter for the piN system due to isospin conservation. Using 58x10(6) J/psi decays collected with the Beijing Electromagnetic Spectrometer at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, more than 100 thousand J/psi-->ppi-n+c.c. events are obtained. Besides the two well-known N* peaks at around 1500 MeV/c2 and 1670 MeV/c2, there are two new, clear N* peaks in the ppi invariant mass spectrum around 1360 MeV/c2 and 2030 MeV/c2 with statistical significance of 11sigma and 13sigma, respectively. We identify these as the first direct observation of the N*(1440) peak and a long-sought missing N* peak above 2 GeV/c2 in the piN invariant mass spectrum.  相似文献

An enhancement near threshold is observed in the omega(phi) invariant mass spectrum from the doubly Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka-suppressed decays of J/psi-->gamma(omega)phi, based on a sample of 5.8 x 10(7) J/psi events collected with the BESII detector. A partial wave analysis shows that this enhancement favors JP=0+, and its mass and width are M=1812(+19)(-26)(stat)+/-18(syst) MeV/c2 and Gamma=105+/-20(stat)+/-28(syst) MeV/c2. The product branching fraction is determined to be B(J/psi-->gammaX)B(X-->omega(phi))=[2.61+/-0.27(stat)+/-0.65(syst)]x10(-4).  相似文献

Measurements have been carried out of total cross sections of positive kaons on hydrogen and deuterium to a statistical precision of better than ± 0.1 mb for most points in the range of laboratory momentum from 410 to 1065 MeV/c in intervals of approximately 50 MeV/c. Azimuthal distributions of pi+, K+, and K- mesons have been measured in Au+Au reactions at 1.5A GeV and Ni+Ni reactions at 1.93 A GeV. In semicentral collisions at midrapidity, pi+ and K+ mesons are emitted preferentially perpendicular to the reaction plane in both collision systems. In contrast for K- mesons in Ni+Ni reactions, an in-plane elliptic flow was observed for the first time at these incident energies.  相似文献

The reactions K+pK1+(890)p, K+pK1+(1420)p and K+p → K0Δ++ have been systematically studied for eleven incident momenta between 3.0 and 16.0 GeV/c. Cross sections, differential cross sections and density matrix elements are presented. For K1(890) production the contributions from natural and unnatural parity exchanges have also been separated into I = 0 and I = 1 components. Effective trajectories have been extracted in the case of natural parity exchange, and also for Δ++ production.  相似文献

The excitation function for Bhabha scattering was reinvestigated in the energy range between 775 and 840 keV (c.m.) in 1.4 keV steps using a monoenergetic e+ -beam and a high-resolution kinematic coincidence detector device. Corroborating our previous results, no resonance was observed around 1.8 MeV/c2 up to an improved upper limit of 0.5 b·eV/sr (c.m.) for the energy-integrated differential cross section (97 % C.L.) The data rule out the existence of a resonance with a cross section of 5.0 b·eV/sr, recently reported elsewhere.  相似文献

We present branching fraction measurements of the decays B(+)-->a(1)(+)(1260)K(0) and B(0)-->a(1)(-)(1260)K(+) with a(1)(+/-)(1260)-->pi(-/+)pi(+/-)pi(+/-). The data sample corresponds to 383 x 10(6) BB pairs produced in e(+)e(-) annihilation through the Upsilon(4S) resonance. We measure the products of the branching fractions B(B(+)-->a(1)(+)(1260)K(0)B(a(1)(+)(1260)-->pi(-)pi(+)pi(+))=(17.4+/-2.5+/-2.2) x 10(-6) and B(B(0)-->a(1)(-)(1260)K(+)B(a(1)(-)(1260)-->pi(+)pi(-)pi(-)) = (8.2+/-1.5+/-1.2) x 10(-6). We also measure the charge asymmetries A(ch)(B(+)-->a(1)(+)(1260)K(0) = 0.12+/-0.11+/-0.02 and A(ch)(B(0)-->a(1)(-)(1260)K+) = -0.16+/-0.12+/-0.01. The first uncertainty quoted is statistical and the second is systematic.  相似文献

We observe a new D_{s} meson with mass (2856.6+/-1.5_{stat}+/-5.0_{syst}) MeV/c;{2} and width (48+/-7_{stat}+/-10_{syst}) MeV/c;{2} decaying into D0K+ and D;{+}K_{S};{0}. In the same mass distributions, we also observe a broad structure with mass (2688+/-4_{stat}+/-3_{syst}) MeV/c;{2} and width (112+/-7_{stat}+/-36_{syst}) MeV/c;{2}. To obtain this result, we use 240 fb;{-1} of data recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e;{+}e;{-} storage rings at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center running at center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV.  相似文献

The results on measuring polarization in charge exchange reaction π?+p→π0+n at 40 GeV/c are presented for the 4-momentum transfer range from 0 up to 2 (GeV/c)2. At |t|≦0.4 (GeV/c)2 the polarization has a positive sign. In the “crossover” region of π± elastic scattering a possible minimum in the polarization behaviour has been seen for the first time. the polarization is zero within the statistical accuracy near this point. In the “deep” region of the charge-exchange differential cross-section the polarization has a negative sign. The presented data are not in agreement with the modern theoretical models.  相似文献

The differential and integrated cross section data for the hypercharge exchange reactions πp→K°(1420)Λ, K - p→f°Λ and K - p→fΛ at 4 GeV/c are fitted by using as imple Regge pole model with phenorncnological residue functions. It is assumed that each of the two non-degenerate K* and K** trajectories, exchanged in this reaction, is coupled only to one of the two independent helicity amplitudes.  相似文献
