Regioselective copper-catalyzed amination of bromobenzoic acids using aliphatic and aromatic amines

A chemo- and regioselective copper-catalyzed cross-coupling procedure for amination of 2-bromobenzoic acids is described. The method eliminates the need for acid protection and produces N-aryl and N-alkyl anthranilic acid derivatives in up to 99% yield. N-(1-Pyrene)anthranilic acid has been employed in metal ion-selective fluorosensing. Titration experiments showed that this pyrene-derived amino acid forms an equimolar complex with Hg(II) in water resulting in selective fluorescence quenching even in the presence of other metal ions such as Zn(II) and Cd(II).     

Wet carbon-based solid acid/NaNO_3 as a mild and efficient reagent for nitration of aromatic compound under solvent free conditions

Nitro aromatic compound can be obtained in high yields via nitration of aromatic compound with wet carbon-based solid acid and NaNO_3 under solvent free oxidation at room temperature.     

Organocatalysed three-component domino synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridines under solvent free conditions

An organocatalysed protocol for one-pot synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridines via three-component coupling of cinnamaldehyde, aniline and β-keto esters under solvent free conditions at ambient temperature is reported. The reaction is generally very fast and the products are obtained in high yield. The catalytic activity of small organic molecules like amino acids (acidic, basic and neutral), ephedrine and cinchona alkaloids was studied.     

Hypervalent iodine mediated C-H amination of quinoxalinones with heteroaromatic amines under metal-free conditions

An efficient and facile method for C–H amination of quinoxalinones with heteroaromatic amines under metal-free conditions has been described. In the presence of hypervalent PIDA reagent, the desired products with various groups were obtained with moderate to high yields.     

Synthesis of 1,8-dioxo-decahydroacridine derivatives using sulfonic acid functionalized silica (SiO2-Pr-SO3H) under solvent free conditions

Sulfonic acid functionlized silica (SiO₂-Pr-SO₃H) was found to be an efficient and recyclable solid acid catalyst in the synthesis of 1,8-dioxo-decahydroacridine derivatives under solvent free conditions. Short reaction time, excellent yields and simple work-up are the advantages of this procedure.     

Zinc oxide (ZnO) as a new, highly efficient, and reusable catalyst for acylation of alcohols, phenols and amines under solvent free conditions

Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a highly efficient catalyst for the acylation of a variety of alcohols, phenols and amines with acid chlorides or acid anhydrides under solvent free conditions. Primary, secondary, tertiary, allylic and benzylic alcohols, diols and phenols with electron donating or withdrawing substituents can be easily acylated in good to excellent yield.     

Practical copper-catalyzed N-arylation of amines with 20% aqueous solution of n-Bu4NOH

N-Arylation of a wide variety of amines with phenylboronic acid catalyzed by copper acetate under 20%aqueous solution of n-Bu₄NOH was accomplished in good to excellent yields（up to 92%） and substrate conversions（up to 96%）.     

Microwave-assisted efficient synthesis of spiro-fused heterocycles under solvent-free conditions

Spiro-fused heterocycles were synthesized in good to high yields by a pseudo four-component reaction of an aldehyde, urea and a cyclic β-diester or a β-diamide such as Meldrum’s acid or barbituric acid derivatives using microwave irradiation under solvent-free conditions.     

Microwave-assisted synthesis of α-aminophosphinic acids from hypophosphorus acid salts under solvent free conditions

A simple, efficient, and general method has been developed for the synthesis of α-aminophosphinic acids from hypophosphorus salts under solvent-free conditions using microwave irradiation. α-Aminophosphinic acids were obtained in high yield under mild conditions by reaction of the amine salts of hypophosphorus acid with aldehydes in the presence of microwave irradiation.     

An efficient synthesis of pyrazole chalcones under solvent free conditions at room temperature

An easy,safe,solvent free and effective method for the synthesis of pyrazole-substituted chalcones has been achieved by grinding pyrazole aldehydes and acetophenones in the presence of activated barium hydroxide(C-200) in high yield within short span of time.All reactions were carried out just by grinding the two reactants in the presence of activated barium hydroxide(C-200). Results are also compared with sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.     

Microwave-assisted heteropolyanion-based ionic liquids catalyzed transamidation of non-activated carboxamides with amines under solvent-free conditions

An environmentally benign and highly efficient protocol for the transamidation of non-activated carboxamides with amines using heteropolyanion-based ionic liquids as catalysts under microwave-assisted and solvent-free conditions has been developed. As evaluated by the reactions of a structurally diverse set of amides and amines, the scope and utility of the transamidation proved to be quite general. Operational simplicity, solvent-free media, the potential reusability of catalysts and wide functional group tolerance are attractive features. This method provides a much improved protocol over the existing methods.     

Sodium bromide catalysed one-pot synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans via a three-component cyclocondensation under microwave irradiation and solvent free conditions

Sodium bromide catalysed three-component cyclocondensation of aryl aldehydes, alkyl nitriles and dimedone proceeds under microwave irradiation in solvent free conditions to give highly functionalised tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans in excellent yields.     

Copper-catalyzed synthesis of 2-imidazolines and their N-hydroxyethyl derivatives under various conditions

A rapid and efficient method for the synthesis of 2-imidazolines and their N-hydroxyethyl derivatives from the reaction of aromatic nitriles with ethylenediamine (EDA) or N-(2-aminoethyl)ethanolamine (AEEA) using cupric indole-3-acetate (Cu(II)-(IAA)₂) as a reusable catalyst under reflux and microwave conditions is reported. And seven new N-hydroxyethyl-imidazolines were reported for the first time.     

Copper-catalyzed alkyne-aryne coupling reaction under microwave conditions: preparation of unsymmetric and symmetric di-substituted alkynes

Several unsymmetric and symmetric alkynes were prepared excellent to modest yields by generating benzyne from the reaction of 2-(trimethylsilyl)phenyl triflate with CsF in the presence of CuI and terminal alkyne under microwave heating for 30 min at 150 °C. Using conventional heating, the reactions required 24 h reaction time.     

One-pot synthesis of N-aryl propargylamine from aromatic boronic acid,aqueous ammonia,and propargyl bromide under microwave-assisted conditions

A facile,one-pot synthesis of N-aryl propargylamine from aromatic boronic acid,aqueous ammonia,and propargyl bromide has been achieved under microwave-assisted conditions.The reactions can be smoothly completed within a total 10 min through a two-step procedure,including copper-catalyzed coupling of aromatic boronic acids with aqueous ammonia and following propargylation by propargyl bromide.     

Trichloroisocyanuric acid as a novel oxidizing agent for the oxidation of 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazolines under both heterogeneous and solvent free conditions

Trichloroisocyanuric acid is used as an effective oxidizing agent for the oxidation of 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazolines to their corresponding pyrazoles under both heterogeneous and also solvent free conditions with good yields at room temperature.     

Microwave-assisted solvent free synthesis of hydroxy derivatives of 4-methyl coumarin using nano-crystalline sulfated-zirconia catalyst

Nano-crystalline sulfated-zirconia solid acid catalyst has been studied for microwave-assisted solvent free synthesis of hydroxy derivatives of 4-methyl coumarin by Pechmann reaction. The catalyst showed good activity for activated m-hydroxy phenol substrates, viz., phloroglucinol and pyrrogallol with ethyl acetoacetate for the synthesis of 5,7-dihydroxy 4-methyl coumarin and 7,8-dihydroxy 4-methyl coumarin, respectively, showing significant yields ranging from 78 to 85% within 5–20 min at 130 °C. However, the less activated phenol and m-methyl phenol was observed to be inactive for the synthesis of 4-methyl coumarin and 4,7-dimethyl coumarin, respectively, under the studied experimental conditions.     

A mild and efficient copper-catalyzed N-arylation of unprotected sulfonimidamides using boronic acids

An efficient and low cost copper catalyzed system for N-arylation of sulfonimidamides has been developed. The reaction proceeds at room temperature under base free conditions. Various N-aryl, N-heteroaryl, and N-cyclopropyl sulfonimidamides were obtained in good to excellent yields.     

Regio- and stereoselective synthesis of (Z)-2-Arylsulfanyl allylic alcohols using anhydrous CeCl3 as catalyst under solvent free conditions

Anhydrous CeCl₃ was successfully employed as catalyst for the synthesis of (Z)-2-Arylsulfanyl allylic alcohols from propargylic alcohols and thiols under solvent free conditions. The products were obtained in good to excellent yields.     

Reductive amination of aldehydes and ketones using sodium borohydride in the presence of silica chloride under solvent free conditions

<正>A simple and convenient procedure for the preparation of amines from aldehydes and ketones with sodium borohydride activated by silica chloride as a catalyst under solvent-free conditions is described.A variety of aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes,ketones and amines when mixed with NaBH_4/silica chloride at room temperature,afforded excellent yield of the corresponding amines.
