We study the duality of the supersymmetric self-dual and Maxwell–Chern–Simons theories coupled to a fermionic matter superfield, using a master action. This approach evades the difficulties inherent to the quartic couplings that appear when matter is represented by a scalar superfield. The price is that the spinorial matter superfield represents a unusual supersymmetric multiplet, whose main physical properties we also discuss.  相似文献

The Maxwell-Chern-Simons gauge theory coupled to a complex scalar field is quantized in the Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin path integral formalism. Based on the symmetries of a constrained canonical (Hamiltonian) system, we obtain the quantal conserved angular momentum of the system under the global symmetry transformation. It is shown that fractional spin also appears at the quantum level. The canonical Ward identities for this system are derived under local gauge transformation.  相似文献

An alternative structure of electroweak symmetry breaking based on an SU(4)/SU (2) symmetry breaking pattern is discussed. An effective chiral lagrangian describing the pseudo-Goldstone bosons and gauge bosons is constructed and their interactions are analyzed. It is shown that the model contains doubly charged pseudo-Goldstone bosons which couple to two similarly charged W's. The question of vacuum alignment is considered, and it is shown that if an additional discrete symmetry is imposed, a custodial SU (2) preserving vacuum is a global minimum of the potential (for a range of coefficients in the effective chiral lagrangian).  相似文献

We investigate SU(3)-periodic vortices in the self-dual Chern–Simons theory proposed by Dunne in [13, 15]. At the first admissible non-zero energy level E= 2 π, and for each (broken and unbroken) vacuum state φ(0) of the system, we find a family of periodic vortices asymptotically gauge equivalent to φ(0), as the Chern–Simons coupling parameter k→ 0. At higher energy levels, we show the existence of multiple gauge distinct periodic vortices with at least one of them asymptotically gauge equivalent to the (broken) principal embedding vacuum, when k→ 0. In this paper, we study the entire radial solutions of the self-dual equations arising from the relativistic SU(3) Chern–Simons model proposed by Kao and Lee (Phys Rev D 50:6626–6632, 1994) and Dunne (Phys Lett B 345:452–457, 1995; Nuclear Phys B 433:333–348, 1995). Understanding the structure of entire radial solutions is one of the fundamental issues for the system of nonlinear equations. In this paper, we prove that any entire radial solutions must be one of topological, non-topological and mixed type solutions, and completely classify the asymptotic behaviors at infinity of these solutions. Even for radial solutions, this classification has remained an open problem for many years. As an application of this classification, we prove that the two components u and v have intersection at most finite times.  相似文献

We study a possible dark matter candidate in the framework of a minimal anomalous U(1)′ extension of the MSSM. It turns out that in a suitable decoupling limit the Stückelino, the fermionic degree of freedom of the Stückelberg multiplet, is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). We compute the relic density of this particle including coannihilations with the next to lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) and with the next to next to lightest supersymmetric particle (NNLSP), which are assumed to be almost degenerate in mass. This assumption is needed in order to satisfy the stringent limits that the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) puts on the relic density. We find that the WMAP constraints can be satisfied by different NLSP and NNLSP configurations as a function of the mass gap with the LSP. These results hold in the parameter space region where the model remains perturbative.  相似文献

We impose some constraints on the D(2|1;α) CS theory in the similar context of the hamiltonian reduction of 2d superconformal algebras. We introduce an antisymmetric metric into a 3-algebra and call it a symplectic 3-algebra. The $\mathcal{N}=6$ , Sp(2NU(1) superconformal Chern–Simons-matter theory with SU(4) R-symmetry in three dimensions is constructed by specifying the 3-brackets in a symplectic 3-algebra. We also demonstrate that the $\mathcal{N}=6$ , U(MU(N) theory can be recast into this symplectic 3-algebraic framework.  相似文献

A study is made of the groupO(5)×U(1). The group is economical in the number of gauge bosons, which we associate with each of its generators, and is anomaly-free. The left-handed leptonsL L T (v e ,e,,v ) L are assigned to the four-dimensional spinorial representations ofO(5). The right-handed particles are taken to be the singlets of the group. The theory has three sets of gauge bosons: (1) analogues of the GWS model, (2) additional charged gauge bosons, and (3) a set of three additional neutral gauge bosons as compared to the GWS model. We introduce neutrino mixing by mixing the additional charged gauge bosons. We develope a theory of neutrino oscillations in matter in such a way that in the absence of matter the scattering length reduces to the usual scattering length in vacuum. Even if the neutrino masses are equal or the neutrinos are massless, we still have neutrino oscillations in matter, a result already noted by Wolfenstein.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a formalism to generate a family of interior solutions to the Einstein–Maxwell system of equations for a spherically symmetric relativistic charged fluid sphere matched to the exterior Reissner–Nordström space–time. By reducing the Einstein–Maxwell system to a recurrence relation with variable rational coefficients, we show that it is possible to obtain closed-form solutions for a specific range of model parameters. A large class of solutions obtained previously are shown to be contained in our general class of solutions. We also analyse the physical viability of our new class of solutions.  相似文献
