In this paper, we show the existence of the solutions of the screen problems of the Stokes equation in R n , n ≥ 3. For the purpose of it, we use the fractional layer potentials (for the Stokes equation) in a bounded Lipschitz domain The author is supported by the Korea Research Grant Foundation Grant (MOEHRD)KRF-2005-214-C00179.  相似文献

We consider the superlinear elliptic equation on Sn
where ΔSn is the Laplace-Beltrami operator on S n. We prove that for any k = 1,..., n − 1, there exists p k > 1 such that for 1 < p < p k and ε sufficiently small, there exist at least n−k positive solutions concentrating on a k-dimensional subset of the equator. We also discuss the problem on geodesic balls of S n and establish the existence of positive non-radial solutions. The method extends to Dirichlet problems with more general non-linearities. The proofs are based on the finite-dimensional reduction procedure which was successfully used by the second author in singular perturbation problems.  相似文献

Via an integral transformation, we establish two embedding results between the Emden-Fowler type equation , tt 0 > 0, with solutions x such that as , , and the equation , u > 0, with solutions y such that for given k > 0. The conclusions of our investigation are used to derive conditions for the existence of radial solutions to the elliptic equation , , that blow up as in the two dimensional case.   相似文献

We describe the structure of the space Ws,p( \mathbbSn;\mathbbS1 ) {W^{s,p}}\left( {{\mathbb{S}^n};{\mathbb{S}^1}} \right) , where 0 < s < ∞ and 1 ≤ p < ∞. According to the values of s, p, and n, maps in Ws,p( \mathbbSn;\mathbbS1 ) {W^{s,p}}\left( {{\mathbb{S}^n};{\mathbb{S}^1}} \right) can either be characterised by their phases or by a couple (singular set, phase).  相似文献

Given a local quantum field theory net $ \mathcal{A} $ on the de Sitter spacetime dS d , where geodesic observers are thermalized at Gibbons-Hawking temperature, we look for observers that feel to be in a ground state, i.e., particle evolutions with positive generator, providing a sort of converse to the Hawking-Unruh effect. Such positive energy evolutions always exist as noncommutative flows, but have only a partial geometric meaning, yet they map localized observables into localized observables. We characterize the local conformal nets on dS d . Only in this case our positive energy evolutions have a complete geometrical meaning. We show that each net has a unique maximal expected conformal subnet, where our evolutions are thus geometrical. In the two-dimensional case, we construct a holographic one-to-one correspondence between local nets $ \mathcal{A} $ on dS 2 and local conformal non-isotonic families (pseudonets) $ \mathcal{B} $ on S 1. The pseudonet $ \mathcal{B} $ gives rise to two local conformal nets $ \mathcal{B}_\pm $ on S 1, that correspond to the $ \frak{H}_\pm $ horizon components of $ \mathcal{A} $, and to the chiral components of the maximal conformal subnet of $ \mathcal{A} $. In particular, $ \mathcal{A} $ is holographically reconstructed by a single horizon component, namely the pseudonet is a net, iff the translations on $ \frak{H}_\pm $ have positive energy and the translations on $ \frak{H}_\mp $ are trivial. This is the case iff the one-parameter unitary group implementing rotations on dS 2 has positive/negative generator. Communicated by Klaus Fredenhagen submitted 07/02/03, accepted: 07/07/03  相似文献

Using measure-capacity inequalities we study new functional inequalities, namely L q -Poincaré inequalities
and L q -logarithmic Sobolev inequalities
for any q ∈ (0, 1]. As a consequence, we establish the asymptotic behavior of the solutions to the so-called weighted porous media equation
for m ≥ 1, in terms of L 2-norms and entropies.   相似文献

A hyperbolic linear Weingarten surface in ℝ3 is a surface M whose mean and Gaussian curvatures satisfy the relationship 2aH +bK = c for real numbers a, b, c such that a2+bc < 0. In this work we obtain a representation for such a surface in terms of its Gauss map when, more generally, a, b, c are functions on M. We also study the completeness of such surfaces and describe a procedure to construct complete examples from solutions of the sine-Gordon equation. A Latin squares of order v with ni missing sub-Latin squares (holes) of order hi (1 〈= i 〈 k), which are disjoint and spanning (i.e. ∑k i=l1 nihi = v), is called a partitioned incomplete Latin squares and denoted by PILS. The type of PILS is defined by (h1n1 h2n2…hknk ). If any two PILS inaset of t PILS of type T are orthogonal, then we denote the set by t-HMOLS(T). It has been proved that 3-HMOLS(2n31) exist for n ≥6 with 11 possible exceptions. In this paper, we investigate the existence of 3-HMOLS(2nu1) with u ≥ 4, and prove that 3-HMOLS(2~u1) exist if n ≥ 54 and n ≥7/4u + 7.  相似文献

We obtain a priori estimates for solutions to the prescribed scalar curvature equation on S 3. The usual non-degeneracy assumption on the curvature function is replaced by a new condition, which is necessary and sufficient for the existence of a priori estimates, when the curvature function is a positive Morse function.  相似文献

Let ( Y,d,dl )\left( {\mathcal{Y},d,d\lambda } \right) be (ℝ n , |·|, μ), where |·| is the Euclidean distance, μ is a nonnegative Radon measure on ℝ n satisfying the polynomial growth condition, or the Gauss measure metric space (ℝ n , |·|, d λ ), or the space (S, d, ρ), where S ≡ ℝ n ⋉ ℝ+ is the (ax + b)-group, d is the left-invariant Riemannian metric and ρ is the right Haar measure on S with exponential growth. In this paper, the authors introduce and establish some properties of the atomic Hardy-type spaces { Xs ( Y ) }0 < s \leqslant ¥\left\{ {X_s \left( \mathcal{Y} \right)} \right\}_{0 < s \leqslant \infty } and the BMO-type spaces { BMO( Y, s ) }0 < s \leqslant ¥\left\{ {BMO\left( {\mathcal{Y}, s} \right)} \right\}_{0 < s \leqslant \infty }. Let H 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) be the known atomic Hardy space and L 01 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) the subspace of fL 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) with integral 0. The authors prove that the dual space of X s ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) is BMO( Y,s )BMO\left( {\mathcal{Y},s} \right) when s ∈ (0,∞), X s ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) = H 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) when s ∈ (0, 1], and X ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) = L 01 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) (or L 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right)). As applications, the authors show that if T is a linear operator bounded from H 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) to L 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) and from L 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) to L 1,∞ ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right), then for all r ∈ (1,∞) and s ∈ (r,∞], T is bounded from X r ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) to the Lorentz space L 1,s ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right), which applies to the Calderón-Zygmund operator on (ℝ n , |·|, μ), the imaginary powers of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator on (ℝ n , |·|, d γ ) and the spectral operator associated with the spectral multiplier on (S, d, ρ). All these results generalize the corresponding results of Sweezy, Abu-Shammala and Torchinsky on Euclidean spaces.  相似文献

We propose a new method for showing C 1, α regularity for solutions of the infinity Laplacian equation and provide full details of the proof in two dimensions. The proof for dimensions n ≥ 3 depends upon some conjectured local gradient estimates for solutions of certain transformed PDE. LCE is supported in part by NSF Grant DMS-0500452. We use the inverse scattering method to obtain a formula for certain exact solutions of the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation. Using matrix exponentials, we write the kernel of the relevant Marchenko integral equation as W( x + y;t ) = Ce - ( x + y )A e8A3 t B\Omega \left( {x + y;t} \right) = Ce^{ - \left( {x + y} \right)A} e^{8A^3 t} BB, where the real matrix triplet (A,B,C) consists of a constant p×p matrix A with eigenvalues having positive real parts, a constant p×1 matrix B, and a constant 1× p matrix C for a positive integer p. Using separation of variables, we explicitly solve the Marchenko integral equation, yielding exact solutions of the mKdV equation. These solutions are constructed in terms of the unique solution P of the Sylvester equation AP + PA = BC or in terms of the unique solutions Q and N of the Lyapunov equations A°Q + QA = C°C and AN + NA° = BB°, where B°denotes the conjugate transposed matrix. We consider two interesting examples.  相似文献

We prove that a complete noncompact orientable stable minimal hypersurface in \mathbbSn+1{\mathbb{S}^{n+1}} (n ≤ 4) admits no nontrivial L 2-harmonic forms. We also obtain that a complete noncompact strongly stable hypersurface with constant mean curvature in \mathbbRn+1{\mathbb{R}^{n+1}} or \mathbbSn+1{\mathbb{S}^{n+1}} (n ≤ 4) admits no nontrivial L 2-harmonic forms. These results are generalized versions of Tanno’s result on stable minimal hypersurfaces in \mathbbRn+1{\mathbb{R}^{n+1}}.  相似文献

Let M{\mathcal M} be a σ-finite von Neumann algebra and \mathfrak A{\mathfrak A} a maximal subdiagonal algebra of M{\mathcal M} with respect to a faithful normal conditional expectation F{\Phi} . Based on Haagerup’s noncommutative L p space Lp(M){L^p(\mathcal M)} associated with M{\mathcal M} , we give a noncommutative version of H p space relative to \mathfrak A{\mathfrak A} . If h 0 is the image of a faithful normal state j{\varphi} in L1(M){L^1(\mathcal M)} such that j°F = j{\varphi\circ \Phi=\varphi} , then it is shown that the closure of {\mathfrak Ah0\frac1p}{\{\mathfrak Ah_0^{\frac1p}\}} in Lp(M){L^p(\mathcal M)} for 1 ≤ p < ∞ is independent of the choice of the state preserving F{\Phi} . Moreover, several characterizations for a subalgebra of the von Neumann algebra M{\mathcal M} to be a maximal subdiagonal algebra are given.  相似文献

We classify deformations of the standard embedding of the Lie superalgebra $ \mathcal{K} $ \mathcal{K} (2) of contact vector fields on the (1, 2)-dimensional supercircle into the Lie superalgebra SΨD(S 1|2 ) of pseudodifferential operators on the supercircle S 1|2 . The proposed approach leads to the deformations of the central charge induced on $ \mathcal{K} $ \mathcal{K} (2) by the canonical central extension of SΨD(S 1|2 ).  相似文献

We discuss the analytic properties of curves γ whose global curvature function ρ G [γ]−1 is p-integrable. It turns out that the L p -norm is an appropriate model for a self-avoidance energy interpolating between “soft” knot energies in form of singular repulsive potentials and “hard” self-obstacles, such as a lower bound on the global radius of curvature introduced by Gonzalez and Maddocks. We show in particular that for all p > 1 finite -energy is necessary and sufficient for W 2,p -regularity and embeddedness of the curve. Moreover, compactness and lower-semicontinuity theorems lead to the existence of -minimizing curves in given isotopy classes. There are obvious extensions to other variational problems for curves and nonlinearly elastic rods, where one can introduce a bound on to preclude self-intersections.  相似文献

In this article, it is proved that the invariant consisting of the scaled ordered K-group and the space of tracial states, together with the natural pairing between them, is a complete invariant for the class of unital simple C *-algebras which can be expressed as the inductive limit of a sequence
with , where X n,i is a compact metrizable space and P n,i is a projection in M [n,i](C(X n,i )) for each n and i, and the spaces X n,i are of uniformly bounded finite dimension. Note that the C *-algebras in the present class are not assumed to be of real rank zero, as they were in [EG2]. Dedicated to Professor Ronald G. Douglas on the occasion of his seventieth birthday.  相似文献

Let n = (p − 1) · p k , where p is a prime number such that 2 is a primitive root modulo p, and 2 p−1 − 1 is not a multiple of p 2. For a standard basis of the field GF(2 n ), a multiplier of complexity O(log log p)n log n log log p n and an inverter of complexity O(log p log log p)n log n log log p n are constructed. In particular, in the case p = 3 the upper bound
$ 5\frac{5} {8}n\log _3 n\log _2 \log _3 n + O(n\log n) $ 5\frac{5} {8}n\log _3 n\log _2 \log _3 n + O(n\log n)   相似文献

In this paper we study solvability of the Cauchy problem of the Kawahara equation 偏导dtu + au偏导dzu + β偏导d^3xu +γ偏导d^5xu = 0 with L^2 initial data. By working on the Bourgain space X^r,s(R^2) associated with this equation, we prove that the Cauchy problem of the Kawahara equation is locally solvable if initial data belong to H^r(R) and -1 〈 r ≤ 0. This result combined with the energy conservation law of the Kawahara equation yields that global solutions exist if initial data belong to L^2(R).  相似文献

Homogenization in the small period limit for the solution ue of the Cauchy problem for a parabolic equation in Rd is studied. The coefficients are assumed to be periodic in Rd with respect to the lattice ɛG. As ɛ → 0, the solution u ɛ converges in L2(Rd) to the solution u0 of the effective problem with constant coefficients. The solution u ɛis approximated in the norm of the Sobolev space H 1(Rd) with error O( ɛ); this approximation is uniform with respect to the L2-norm of the initial data and contains a corrector term of order ɛ. The dependence of the constant in the error estimate on time t is given. Also, an approximation in H 1(Rd) for the solution of the Cauchy problem for a nonhomogeneous parabolic equation is obtained.  相似文献
