Bi-f-harmonic maps are the critical points of bi-f-energy functional. This class of maps tends to integrate bi-harmonic maps and f-harmonic maps. In this paper, we show that bi-f-harmonic maps are not only an extension of f-harmonic maps but also an extension of bi-harmonic maps, and that there should exist many examples of proper bi-f-harmonic maps.In order to find some concrete examples of proper bi-f-harmonic maps, we study the basic properties of bi-f-harmonic maps from two directions which are conformal maps between the same dimensional manifolds and some special maps from or into a warped product manifold.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the chromatic sum functions of rooted general maps on the sphere and the projective plane. The chromatic sum function equations of such maps are obtained. From the chromatic sum equations of such maps, the enumerating function equations of rooted loopless maps, bipartite maps and Eulerian maps are also derived. Moreover, some explicit expressions of enumerating functions are also derived.  相似文献

In this paper we study the chromatic sum functions for rooted nonseparable simple maps on the plane. The chromatic sum function equation for such maps is obtained. The enumerating function equation of such maps is derived by the chromatic sum equation of such maps. A class of finite structures has a 0–1 law with respect to a logic if every property expressible in the logic has a probability approaching a limit of 0 or 1 as the structure size grows. To formulate 0–1 laws for maps (i.e., embeddings of graphs in a surface), it is necessary to represent maps as logical structures. Three such representations are given, the most general being the full cross representation based on Tutte's theory of combinatorial maps. The main result says that if a class of maps has two properties, richness and large representativity, then the corresponding class of full cross representations has a 0–1 law with respect to first‐order logic. As a corollary the following classes of maps on a surface of fixed type have a first‐order 0–1 law: all maps, smooth maps, 2‐connected maps, 3‐connected maps, triangular maps, 2‐connected triangular maps, and 3‐connected triangular maps. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. We establish existence and uniqueness theorems for V-harmonic maps from complete noncompact manifolds. This class of maps includes Hermitian harmonic maps, Weyl harmonic maps, affine harmonic maps, and Finsler harmonic maps from a Finsler manifold into a Riemannian manifold. We also obtain a Liouville type theorem for V-harmonic maps. In addition, we prove a V-Laplacian comparison theorem under the Bakry-Emery Ricci condition.  相似文献

We define the notions of stable and transquotient maps and study the relation between these classes of maps. The class of stable maps contains all closed and open maps and their compositions. The transquotient maps preserve the property of being a Polish space, and every stable map between separable metric spaces is transquotient.

In particular, a composition of closed and open maps (the intermediary spaces may not be metric) preserves the property of being a Polish space. This generalizes the results of Sierpinski and Vainstein for open and closed maps.

A planar map is a 2-cell embedding of a connected planar graph, loops and parallel edges allowed, on the sphere. A plane map is a planar map with a distinguished outside (“infinite”) face. An unrooted map is an equivalence class of maps under orientation-preserving homeomorphism, and a rooted map is a map with a distinguished oriented edge. Previously we obtained formulae for the number of unrooted planar n-edge maps of various classes, including all maps, non-separable maps, eulerian maps and loopless maps. In this article, using the same technique we obtain closed formulae for counting unrooted plane maps of all these classes and their duals. The corresponding formulae for rooted maps are known to be all sum-free; the formulae that we obtain for unrooted maps contain only a sum over the divisors of n. We count also unrooted two-vertex plane maps.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that one can interrelate pluriharmonic maps with para-pluriharmonic maps by means of the loop group method. As an appendix, we give examples for the interrelation between pluriharmonic maps and para-pluriharmonic maps. Moreover, we investigate the relation among CMC-surfaces by use of such maps.  相似文献

In this paper we will point out an error in proving some results on finite iterated function systems consisting of Kannan maps, Reich maps and Chatterjea type maps. In this respect, some counter-examples are given. We also answer some open questions on iterated function systems consisting of contractive maps of Reich type and we present revisions of some theorems on iterated function systems consisting of Kannan, Reich and Chatterjea type maps, by adding a commutativity assumption on the maps.  相似文献

Biharmonic maps are generalizations of harmonic maps. A well-known result on harmonic maps between surfaces shows that there exists no harmonic map from a torus into a sphere(whatever the metrics chosen) in the homotopy class of maps of Brower degree±1. It would be interesting to know if there exists any biharmonic map in that homotopy class of maps. The authors obtain some classifications on biharmonic maps from a torus into a sphere, where the torus is provided with a flat or a class of non-flat metrics whilst the sphere is provided with the standard metric. The results in this paper show that there exists no proper biharmonic maps of degree±1 in a large family of maps from a torus into a sphere.  相似文献

Samuelson maps are maps whose Jacobian matrix has nowhere vanishing leading principal minors. This paper surveys some recent results on invertibility of Samuelson maps and their decomposition into maps that fix all but one coordinate. The most noteworthy result is that real, rational, everywhere defined Samuelson maps are invertible. Proofs are sketched or omitted entirely.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a Nielsen type number for any selfmap f of a partially ordered set of spaces. This Nielsen theory relates to various existing Nielsen type fixed point theories for different settings such as maps of pairs of spaces, maps of triads, fibre preserving maps, equivariant maps and iterates of maps, by exploring their underlying poset structures.  相似文献

We construct Gauss–Weingarten-like formulas and define O’Neill’s tensors for Riemannian maps between Riemannian manifolds. By using these new formulas, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for Riemannian maps to be totally geodesic. Then we introduce semi-invariant Riemannian maps from almost Hermitian manifolds to Riemannian manifolds, give examples and investigate the geometry of leaves of the distributions defined by such maps. We also obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for semi-invariant maps to be totally geodesic and find decomposition theorems for the total manifold. Finally, we give a classification result for semi-invariant Riemannian maps with totally umbilical fibers.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a horizontal energy functional for maps from a Riemannian manifold to a pseudo-Hermitian manifold. The critical maps of this functional will be called CC-harmonic maps. Under suitable curvature conditions on the domain manifold, some Liouville-type theorems are established for CC-harmonic maps from a complete Riemannian manifold to a pseudo-Hermitian manifold by assuming either growth conditions of the horizontal energy or an asymptotic condition at the infinity for the maps.  相似文献

A counting formula for the number of non-isomorphic planar maps with m edges was obtained by V. A. Liskovets, and non-isomorphic 2-connected planar maps were counted by Liskovets and the author. R. W. Robinson's generalization of Polya's counting theory can be applied to these formulae to count, in polynomial time, non-isomorphic planar maps satisfying various sets of restrictions. Here two sets of planar maps are counted: maps with given 2-connected components, and 3-connected maps.  相似文献

We establish generalized fixed point theorems of Leray-Schauder type for compact or condensing multifunctions in very general classes. Those classes contain composites of Kakutani maps, acyclic maps, approachable maps, u.s.c. maps with R-values, the O'Neill maps, the Górniewicz type maps, the Dzedzej type maps, and many others. In this paper, boundary cubic rooted planar maps are investigated and exact enumerative formulae are given. First, an enumerative formula for boundary cubic inner-forest maps with the size (number of edges) as a parameter is derived. For the special case of boundary cubic inner-tree maps, a simple formula with two parameters is presented. Further, according to the duality, a corresponding result for outer-planar maps is obtained. Finally, some results for boundary cubic planar maps and general planar maps are obtained. Furthermore, two known Tutte's formulae are easily deduced in the paper.  相似文献
