Fission fragments from the reaction237Np(μ ?,γ,f) have been measured in coincidence with muonic X-rays. The efficiency of the fission fragment detector is determined from (μ ?,γ,f)-data of the same experiment. The total fission probability perμ-stopP t has been measured as well as the fission probabilities Pf of the non-radiative muonic (3d→1s)- and (2p→1s)-transitions; the latter has been divided into two parts leading to different mean excitation energiesE:P t =(54±17)%,P f (3d→1s)=(41±21)%,P f (2p→1s,E=6.218 MeV)=(61±19)%, andP f (2p→1s,E=6.525 MeV)=(57±18)%. The influence of the muon on the fission barrier is discussed. The fission probability after muon capture is compared with a calculated value using a distribution of nuclear excitation energies following muon capture and the fission probability as measured in a238U(3He,αf)-reaction.  相似文献

The pressure shift of the optical absorption edge (dEg/dp = (1.1 ± 0.1) × 10?6 eV bar?1) and the compressibility (κ = (1.3 ± 0.) × 10?6 bar?1) of single crystalline CdCr2Se4 have been measured at ambient temperature. These data suggest an interpretation of the fundamental absorption in terms of either pp interband or p → localized d charge transfer transitions, but exclude excitations involving s-band states.  相似文献

The probabilities for non-radiative (n.r.) excitationsP n.r. in the muonic nuclides208Pb,232Th, and238U have been determined from (μ?,γγ)-measurements by comparing the intensities of muonic X-ray transitions in single and coincidence spectra. The value ofP n.r. (3p→1s), measured for the first time, is about 90% for the actinides232Th and238U, but only about 8% for208Pb. The value ofP n.r. (3d→1s) is found to be 10 % for233Th, 13% for238U, and about 4% for208Pb. For208Pb a vanishing strength of the n.r. decay of the 2p-level is found, while for232Th and for238U n.r. strengths of about 20% and 26%, respectively, are observed. By regarding two subcomplexes of the 2p→1s transitions leading to different mean excitation energies the n.r. transition probabilities were found to be different for238U only, 21.6% and 31.1.%, respectively.  相似文献

The gauge model of weak interactions is proposed and μ±?e? transitions predicted by the model are discussed. Estimates are given for μ±→e? transitions on hadrons like K+π?μ+e+ with Γ (K+π?μ+e+) ? 10?11Γ(K+ and μ? capture on nuclei with W(μ?→e+) ? 10?12W(μ?ν). Single μ± production in e? beams with a cross section δ ~ 10?42?10?41 cm2 is predicted.  相似文献

Branching ratio measurements have been performed for all of the observed transitions from eight levels in neutral lead (6p2→6p6d, 6p2→ 6p7s, 6p2→6p8s) excited in a hollow cathode discharge in the 200–730 nm spectral range. From the relative emission intensity data, a set of absolute transition probabilities is derived for 28 lines, including lines for which transition probabilities have not been previously published. The absolute scales are obtained by averaging the measured lifetimes of the 3P01,2, 1P10(6p7s), 3F02,3, 3D01,2(6p6d) levels.  相似文献

The photoelectron spectra of Sc? and Y? have been obtained in a crossed ion- and laser-beam experiment. Analysis of the Sc? spectrum yields two bound terms of 3d4s2 4p configuration (1D0 and 3D0), with EA(Sc) = 0.189 ± 0.020 eV and an excited-state binding energy of 0.042 ± 0.020 eV. Similarly, the (4d5s2 5p) 1D0 ground state of Y?is bound by 0.308±0.012eV and a (4d5s25P)3D0 excited term is bound by 0.165± 0.025 eV. With the determination of the bound electronic configuration of Sc? as 3d4s24p, the order of filling of electron shells of the first transition series negative ions is found to be 4s24p, 3d4s24p, followed by 3dk4s2 (k = 3,4,…, 10).  相似文献

Integral yields of spontaneous emission at wavelengths of 1.73, 2.03, and 2.65 μm have been measured upon excitation of pure xenon by a pulsed electron beam. These yields have been analyzed and experimental data have been obtained on time constants of radiative transitions 5d[3/2]1 → 6p[5/2]2, 5d[3/2]1 → 6p[3/2]1, and 5d[3/2]1 → 6p[1/2]0 of XeI, which appeared to be equal to (2300 ± 400) × 10?9, (300 ± 40) × 10?9, and (1300 ± 200) × 10?9 s, respectively. It is shown that the experimental data are in a qualitative agreement with the results of computational and theoretical investigations. The results of averaging the experimental and calculated data are proposed for use as recommended values of the corresponding constants.  相似文献

The cross section for the elastic photoproduction of ϱ0 mesons (γpϱ0p) has been measured with the H1 detector at HERA for two average photon-proton centre-of-mass energies of 55 and 187 GeV. The lower energy point was measured by observing directly the ϱ0 decay giving a cross section of 9.1 ± 0.9 (stat.) ± 2.5 (syst.) μb. The logarithmic slope parameter of the differential cross section, dσ/dt, is found to be 10.9 ± 2.4 (stat.) ± 1.1 (syst.) GeV−2. The ϱ0 decay polar angular distribution is found to be consistent with s-channel helicity conservation. The higher energy cross section was determined from analysis of the lower part of the hadronic invariant mass spectrum of diffractive photoproduction and found to be 13.6 ± 0.8 (stat.) ± 2.4 (syst.) μb.  相似文献

Electron energy-loss spectroscopy of ~ 200 eV electrons has been applied to the study of the electronic states of clean NiO (100) surfaces. Initial attempt has been made on the identification of observed peaks, and they are attributed to the one-electronic transitions (O2-2p → Ni2+3d, 4s and 4p; Ni2+3d → 4p, 3p → 3d and 4s), and the collective excitations (bulk plasmons of O2-2p, Ni2+3d electrons, and coupled 2p and 3d electrons).  相似文献

The problem of the radiative non-leptonic weak baryon decays is reviewed in light of the new experimental findings. With the aim of exploring the structure of the weak non-leptonic Hamiltonian, we present a detailed phenomenological analysis of Σ+p?+?? transitions. Lower and upper limits for rates derivable with standard physics are determined as Γ(Σ+pe + e ?)/Σ+pγ)≧7.2×10?3 and 1/1210? Γ(Σ+pe + e +)/Γ(Σ+pe + e ?)?1/120. From existing data on Σ+pe + e ? we obtain limits on the values of the charge radius form factors |c 1/b 1|?5;|c 2/b 1|? 10, where the magnetic form factor is given by the Σ+dγ, decay asb 1(0)= 6.9±0.9 MeV. The short distance contribution of the QCD corrected single quarks→dλ transition is shown not to play a dominant role in these decays.  相似文献

Recently, the first evidence for the decay B s 0 μ + μ ? has been announced by the LHCb Collaboration and the measured branching ratio B( s 0 μ +) = (3.2 ?1.2 +1.5 ) × 10?9 is in good agreement with the standard model (SM) expectation. It has also reported an upper limit for B(B d 0 μ + μ ?) < 9.4 × 10?10 at 95% confidence level. In this paper, we study the B s 0 μ + μ ? and B d 0 μ + μ ? rare decays in flavor-changing Z′ model. Our estimated branching ratios are enhanced from their SM values and provide signals for new physics.  相似文献

Further results are presented on half-lives and neutron emission probabilities (P n ) of short-lived delayed-neutron precursors in the mass chains 85–87, 92, 135, 136 and 145 obtained with the recoil focussing parabola-type mass separator for unslowed fission products LOHENGRIN installed at the Grenoble high-flux reactor. A newP n -value of (44±14)% is given for the (0.73±0.06)s87As; theP n -values of seven precursor nuclides have been redetermined: (1.9±0.1)s85As with (22±8)%, 0.9s86As with (10.5±2.2)%, (0.35±0.04)s92Br with (21±8)%, (1.6±0.15)s135Sb with (14±1)%, (0.9±0.1)s136Sb with (19±9)%, (17.5±0.2)s136Te with (2.0±1.0)% and 0.6s145Cs with (12.5±3.0)%. The results are compared with the existing data, and the neutron emission probabilities are discussed within a simple semi-empirical picture.  相似文献

The single diffraction dissociation process pp → (pπ+π?)p has been studied at the CERN ISR at √s = 45 GeV and 0.1 < ?t < 0.6 GeV2. The reaction is dominated by nucleon resonance production: pp → pN (1520) and pp → pN(1688) with cross-sections (0.25 ± 0.08) mb and (0.56 ± 0.19) mb respectively.  相似文献

We report on the results of the study of e+e? collisions at the highest PETRA energy of √s = 31.57 GeV, using the 4π sr, electromagnetic and calorimetric detector Mark J. Based on 88 hadron events, and an integrated luminosity of 243 nb?1 we obtain R = σ(e+e? → hadrons)/σ(e+e?μ+μ?) = 4.0 ± 0.5 (statistical) ± 6 (systematic). The R value, the measured thrust distribution and average spherocity show no evidence for the production of new quark flavors.  相似文献

Results are presented for p → (ΛK+) dissociation in the reactions K?p → ΛK+K? and and π±p → ΛK+π±at 10 and 16 GeV/c. The cross sections for the low-mass ΛK+ enhancement are compatible with the energy dependence σplab?0.3. The t′ spectra or the (ΛK+) threshold enhancement are exponential in shape. Its decay angular distribution reveals neither s-channel nor t-channel helicity conservation. The relative probabilities of the processes pp, p → (Nπ)I=12and p → (ΛK+) dissociation are in the ratios 100 : 10 : 0.2, independent of the nature of the incident particle.  相似文献

The lifetime of the 2S state in (μ?4He)+ ions has been measured at He-gas pressures between 50 Torr and 6 atm (T=300 K). We observed both X-rays from the two-photon 2S→1S transitions as well as delayed Kα X-rays associated with radiative quenching. The quenching rate is strongly pressure dependent; it is predominantly a quadratic function of pressure with a measured three-body rate coefficient k=(5.9±0.8)×10?32cm6/s. At 6 atm, we find τ2S<250 ns because of the absence of two-photon transitions.  相似文献

We have measured the weak radiative decay branching ratio ( +pγ)/( +pπ0). The experiment was carried out at Brookhaven National Laboratory using a low-energy separatedK ? beam stopping in liquid hydrogen. The + was tagged by observing the pion fromK ? K + p +π? in a range telescope, and the gamma was detected in a segmented NaI detector. The result is (2.81±0.39 ?0.43 +0.21 )×10?3, which is consistent with previous measurements. This corresponds to a branching ratio for ( +pγ)/( + → all) of (1.45±0.20 ?0.22 +0.11 )×10?3, where the quoted errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. A total of 408 signal events were observed, doubling the previous world total.  相似文献
