We consider the model that has been suggested by Greenberg et al. (Physica D 134 (1999) 362-383) for the ferroelectric behavior of materials. In this model, the usual (linear) Maxwell's equations are supplemented with a constitutive relation in which the electric displacement equals a constant times the electric field plus an internal polarization variable which evolves according to an internal set of nonlinear Maxwell's equations. For such model we provide rigorous proofs of global existence, uniqueness, and regularity of solutions. We also provide some preliminary results on the long-time behavior of solutions. The main difficulties in this study are due to the loss of compactness in the system of Maxwell's equations. These results generalize those of Greenberg et al., where only solutions with TM (transverse magnetic) symmetry were considered.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors study an initial and boundary value problem to a system of evolution p-Laplacian equations coupled with general nonlinear terms. The authors use the method of regularization to construct a sequence of approximation solutions with the help of monotone iteration technique and hence obtain the existence of solutions to a regularized system of equations. Then the existence of solutions to the system of evolution p-Laplacian equations is obtained with the use of a standard limiting process. The uniqueness of the solution is also proven.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the regularity criterion for weak solutions to the incompressible magnetohydrodynamic equations. We derive the regularity of weak solutions in the marginal class. Moreover, our result demonstrates that the velocity field of the fluid plays a more dominant role than the magnetic field does on the regularity of solutions to the magnetohydrodynamic equations.  相似文献

This paper investigates the existence and uniqueness theorem of solutions to neutral stochastic differential equations with infinite delay (short for INSFDEs) at a space BC((-,0];Rd). Under the uniform Lipschitz condition, linear growth condition is weaken to obtain the moment estimate of the solution for INSFDEs. Furthermore, the existence, uniqueness theorem of the solution for INSFDEs is derived, and the estimate for the error between approximate solution and exact solution is given. On the other hand, under the linear growth condition, the uniform Lipschitz condition is replaced by the local Lipschitz condition, the existence, uniqueness theorem is also valid for INSFDEs on [t0,T]. Moreover, the existence, uniqueness theorem still holds on interval [t0,), where t0R is an arbitrary real number.  相似文献

Assume that Ω is a bounded domain in RN (N?3) with smooth boundary ∂Ω. In this work, we study existence and uniqueness of blow-up solutions for the problem −Δp(u)+c(x)|∇u|p−1+F(x,u)=0 in Ω, where 2?p. Under some conditions related to the function F, we give a sufficient condition for existence and nonexistence of nonnegative blow-up solutions. In this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions for a singular evolutionary system, which is deduced from a model for image decomposition combining staircase reduction and texture extraction. In this paper, we are concerned with a singular parabolic equation in a smooth bounded domain ΩRN subject to zero Dirichlet boundary condition and initial condition φ?0. Under the assumptions on μ, φ and f(x,t), some existence and uniqueness results are obtained by applying parabolic regularization method and the sub-supersolutions method. We also discuss the asymptotic behaviors of solutions in the sense of and L(0,T;L2(Ω)) norms as μ→0 or μ→∞. We consider kinetic models for a multi component gas mixture without chemical reactions. In the literature, one can find two types of BGK models in order to describe gas mixtures. One type has a sum of BGK type interaction terms in the relaxation operator, for example the model described by Klingenberg, Pirner and Puppo [20] which contains well-known models of physicists and engineers for example Hamel [16] and Gross and Krook [15] as special cases. The other type contains only one collision term on the right-hand side, for example the well-known model of Andries, Aoki and Perthame [1]. For each of these two models [20] and [1], we prove existence, uniqueness and positivity of solutions in the first part of the paper. In the second part, we use the first model [20] in order to determine an unknown function in the energy exchange of the macroscopic equations for gas mixtures described by Dellacherie [11].  相似文献
