Complementing the preceding study of charged scalar leptons, the sector of the neutral scalar leptons, sneutrinos, is investigated in a high-precision analysis for future e
+
e
- linear colliders. The theoretical predictions for the cross-sections are calculated at the thresholds for non-zero widths and in the continuum including higher-order corrections at the one-loop level. A new evaluation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon magnetic moment is presented. We take into account the reanalysis of the low-energy e
+
e
-annihilation cross section into hadrons by the CMD-2 Collaboration. The agreement between e
+
e
-and
spectral functions in the
channel is found to be much improved. Nevertheless, significant discrepancies remain in the center-of-mass energy range between 0.85 and
, so that we refrain from averaging the two data sets. The values found for the lowest-order hadronic vacuum polarization contributions are
where the errors have been separated according to their sources: experimental, missing radiative corrections in e
+
e
-data, and isospin breaking. The corresponding Standard Model predictions for the muon magnetic anomaly read
where the errors account for the hadronic, light-by-light (LBL) scattering and electroweak contributions. The deviations from the measurement at BNL are found to be
(1.9
) and
(0.7
) for the e
+
e
-- and

Understanding the mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking and the origin of boson and fermion masses is among the most
pressing questions raised in contemporary particle physics. If these issues involve one (several) Higgs boson(s), a precise
measurement of all its (their) properties will be of prime importance. Among those, the Higgs coupling to matter fermions
(the Yukawa coupling). At a linear collider, the process e+e-→tt̄H will allow a direct measurement of the top-Higgs Yukawa coupling. We present a realistic feasibility study of the measurement
in the context of the TESLA collider. Four channels are studied and the analysis is repeated for several Higgs mass values
within the range 120–200 GeV/c
2.

Effects of CP and T invariance violation are studied in the most general interaction of the Higgs boson with the intermediate vector W ± and Z bosons. Various angular distributions of the cascade decay Φ → W + W ?/ZZ → 4 of fermions in the transversity and helicity systems are calculated, and asymmetries are constructed and evaluated. It is shown that studying the azimuthal angle distribution of the process Φ → ZZ → (e ? e +)(μ?μ+) in the transversity system is effective for measuring the spatial parity of the Higgs boson. 相似文献

We obtain exact results in α′ for open and closed A-model topological string amplitudes on a large class of toric Calabi-Yau threefolds by using their correspondence with five
dimensional gauge theories. The toric Calabi-Yaus that we analyze are obtained as minimal resolution of cones over Y
p,q
manifolds and give rise via M-theory compactification to SU(p) gauge theories on . As an application we present a detailed study of the local case and compute open and closed genus zero Gromov-Witten invariants of the orbifold. We also display the modular structure of the topological wave function and give predictions for higher genus amplitudes.
The mirror curve in this case is the spectral curve of the relativistic A
1 Toda chain. Our results also indicate the existence of a wider class of relativistic integrable systems associated to generic
Y
p,q

The difference of vector and axial-vector charged current correlators is analyzed by means of QCD sum rules. The contribution of 10-dimensional 4-quark condensates is calculated and its value is estimated within the framework of the factorization hypothesis. It is compared to the result obtained from an operator fit of Borel sum rules in the complex q
2-plane, calculated from experimental data on hadronic

- collisions and their subsequent decays into two different charged leptons e and μ with two lighter charginos. The analyses are made systematically in a general framework of the supersymmetric extension
of the standard model. The production and decay process depends on the parameters of the chargino sector as well as those
of the sneutrino sector. Although generation-changing interactions are severely constrained by radiative charged-lepton decays,
sizable regions in the parameter space could still be explored at e

- colliders in the near future.

We present an implementation of the calculation of the production of W
+
W
+ plus two jets at hadron colliders, at next-to-leading order (NLO) in QCD, in the POWHEG framework, which is a method that allows the interfacing of NLO calculations to shower Monte Carlo programs. This is the
first 2→4 process to be described to NLO accuracy within a shower Monte Carlo framework. The implementation was built within
the POWHEG BOX package. We discuss a few technical improvements that were needed in the POWHEG BOX to deal with the computer intensive nature of the NLO calculation, and argue that further improvements are possible, so that
the method can match the complexity that is reached today in NLO calculations. We have interfaced our POWHEG implementation with PYTHIA and HERWIG, and present some phenomenological results, discussing similarities and differences between the pure NLO and the POWHEG+PYTHIA calculation both for inclusive and more exclusive distributions. The energy dependence of the Cronin momentum for p + A and A + A collisions in the saturation model are calculated. This dependence is consistent with simple dimensional considerations and can be used to test the validity of the saturation model. Recent results from OKA setup concerning form factor studies in Ke3 decay are presented. About 5.25 M events obtained for decays of 17.7 GeV/cK+ are selected for the analysis. The linear and quadratic slopes for the decay form factor f+(t) are measured: λ'+ = 2.95 ± 0.022 ± 0.018 × 10 -2 for the linear slope fit and λ+ = 2.611 ± 0.035 ± 0.028 × 10 -2, λ"+ = 1.91 ± 0.19 ± 0.14 × 10 -3 for the quadratic one. The scalar and tensor contributions are compatible with zero. Several alternative parametrizations are tried: the Pole fit parameter is found to be M V = 891 ± 3 MeV; the parameter of the dispersive parametrization is measured to be Λ+ = 2.458 ± 0.018 × 10-2. 相似文献

The photonless annihilation cross sections for 113m,115m In at a boundary positron energy of 3.9 MeV have been measured for the first time: σef(115m In)=(5.0 ± 0.4) × 10?27 cm2 and σef(113m In) = (3.4 ± 0.6) × 10?27 cm2. The cross sections obtained differ by four to five orders of magnitude from the calculated values. The Large Hadron Collider will allow studies of hard probes in nucleus-nucleus collisions which were not accessible at the
Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider—even the study of small cross-section Z
0-tagged jets becomes possible. Going beyond the measurement of back-to-back correlations of two strongly interacting particles
to measure plasma properties, we replace one side by an electromagnetic probe which propagates through the plasma undisturbed
and therefore provides a measurement of the energy of the initial hard scattering. We show that at sufficiently high transverse
momentum the Z
0-tagged jets originate predominately from the fragmentation of quarks and anti-quarks while gluon jets are suppressed. We
propose to use lepton-pair tagged jets to study medium-induced partonic energy loss and to measure in-medium parton fragmentation
functions to determine the opacity of the quark gluon plasma. 相似文献
