A 16×10-Gb/s optical time-division-multiplexing (OTDM) system was demonstrated experimentally with a well-designed ultrashort pulse source based on an electro-absorption modulator (EAM) and nonlinear fiber compressor. The obtained 10-GHz stable and pedestal-free pulse train has 2-ps width, high extinction ratio, and low timing jitter. An ultrafast demultiplexer based on a nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) including a commercially available highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF) is employed to demultiplex data signal from 160 to 10 Gb/s. A back-to-back error-free demultiplexing experiment is carried out to verify the system performance.  相似文献

In this article, the spectrum sliced dense wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network (SS-DWDM–PON) has been investigated as a power efficient and cost effective solution for optical access networks. In this work an AWG demultiplexer is used to operate as slicing system. The high speed SS-DWDM system has been realized and investigated for 32 channels with data rate up to 3 Gb/s using broadband ASE source (LED). The 3 Gb/s signals both non-return-to-zero (NRZ) and return-to-zero (RZ) were demonstrated in 40 km optical fiber link with BER < 10−12. The results obtained here demonstrate that SS-DWDM is well suited for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network.  相似文献

利用色散位移光纤(DSF)中四波混频效应在闲频光波长处增益的指数增长特性及增益饱和特性,提出了一种基于恶化信号抽运的2×40Gb/s的双波长全光3R(再放大、再整形、再定时)再生实验方案。对再生原理做了理论分析和实验验证,完成了1550.92nm和1557.36nm两个波长上不同恶化信号的全光再生实验,将恶化信号的接收机灵敏度分别由-20.3dBm、-20.4dBm改善到-27.3dBm、-25.6dBm,灵敏度改善量为7.0dB和5.2dB。系统实验验证了理论分析的结果,对于解决波分复用(WDM)系统中多路信号的同时再生问题提出了一种可行的解决方案。  相似文献

基于太赫兹光非对称解复用器(TOAD),提出了一种全光或门的实现方案.从TOAD原理出发,从理论上证实了该方案实现全光或运算的可行性.在此基础上进行了实验研究,成功实现了10 Gb/s的全光或运算.实验采用1100和0110编码的两路数据信号,完全验证了或运算真值表中各种可能的情况,并显示出该方案对实现任意编码或伪随机码数据或运算的潜力.对SOA增益恢复时间对结果的影响提出了改进办法.最后分析表明,该方案具有实现超高速高消光比或运算的潜力.  相似文献

A non-return-to-zero (NRZ) to pseudo-return-to-zero (PRZ) converter consisting of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) is proposed, by which the enhancement of clock frequency component and clock-to-data suppression ratio of the NRZ data are evidently achieved. Alloptical clock recovery from NRZ data at 10 Gb/s is successfully demonstrated with the proposed NRZ-to-PRZ converter and a mode-locked SOA fiber laser. Furthermore, NRZ-to-RZ format conversion of 10 Gb/s is realized by using the recovered clock as the control light of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer(TOAD), which further proves that the proposed clock recovery scheme is applicable.  相似文献

We theoretically discuss 40 Gb/s semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA)-based wavelength conversion (WC) using a detuning optical bandpass Jilter based on ultrafast dynamic characteristics of SOA. Both the inverted and noninverted WCs are obtained by shifting the filter central wavelength with respect to the probe wavelength when input data signal is in return-to-zero (RZ) format. However, we can obtain format conversion from nonreturn- to-zero (NRZ) to pseudo-return-to-zero (PRZ) and inverted WC when the input signal is in NRZ format.  相似文献

数值模拟了基于电吸收调制器 (Electro absorptionmodulator,EAM)解复用器的开关窗口特性 ,在考虑邻道串扰和强度抖动 (由同步偏离和时间抖动导致 )的光时分复用数值模型中对解复用信号的误码率进行分析。数值模拟结果表明 ,电吸收调制器的窗口特性 (消光比和窗口宽度 )满足 4× 10Gb/s的光时分复用通信系统中解复用器的要求 ;在小的偏置电压下 ,邻道串扰和解复用器的透过率特性必须仔细考虑以达到最小的误码率 ;在大的偏置电压下 ,较大的射频幅度将会使解复用信号误码率最小  相似文献

This paper proposes a design for all-optical NOR logic gate, based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) using quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier (QD-SOA). In this regard, a theoretical model for an ultrafast all-optical signal processor is developed using QD-SOA to achieve high bit rate operation. We have demonstrated the NOR gate operation in two cases of with and without an optical control pulse. Simulations have been carried out at data bit rates 160 Gb/s, 200 Gb/s, and 250 Gb/s for the case that control pulse is not applied, and also at data bit rates 1 Tb/s and 2 Tb/s in presence of control pulse which leads to improvement of gain recovery time and ultrafast NOR logic operation. In addition, quality factors of the output signals in presence and without the control pulse at different bit rates with different bias currents have been investigated for pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS) of word length 28–1.  相似文献

A new optical label switching system with coherently detected implicit spectral amplitude code (SAC) labels is proposed in this letter. The implicit SAC labels are recognized using a frequency-swept local light source oscillator. Intensity modulation payloads of 625 Mb/s and 1.25 Gb/s are considered. Label and payload bit error rate (BER) performances are assessed and compared by simulations. The results reveal that, at a BER value of 10 9 , 32.4-dBm label received power can be obtained. In addition, 8.3-dB optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) is obtained when carrying a payload of 625 Mb/s. The label BER value hardly reaches 10 -9 if the payload bit rate is at 1.25 Gb/s; however, a high payload bit rate only has little influence on received payload quality at a BER value of 10 -9 . Finally, a payload of 1.25 Gb/s could obtain 28.2 dBm received power and 9.5-dB OSNR.  相似文献

实验报道了利用半导体光放大器(SOA)的四波混频(FWM)效应实现多种码型的波长转换.其中对于非归零(NRZ)信号实现了从单信道到三信道的多波长转换.调制速率从10 Gb/s到40 Gb/s均实现多波长转换.对于归零(RZ)信号分别实现了20 Gb/s和40 Gb/s的RZ格式的波长转换和40 Gb/s的载波抑制归零(CSRZ)格式的波长转换,利用光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)作为带陷滤波器消除共轭光和抽运光之间的串扰.对于非归零差分相移键控(NRZ_DPSK)信号分别实现了20 Gb/s和40 Gb/s的波长转换,利用实验室自制的光纤延时干涉仪进行NRZ-DPSK信号的解调.基于FWM效应的转换光的输出消光比大于7 dB,转换后消光比退化约为3 dB.  相似文献

A simple and flexible simultaneous clock extraction for WDM signals with mixed modulation formats and bit-rates is proposed and demonstrated using a single commercial arrayed waveguide grating (AWG), which acts both detuned multi-channel filter and demultiplexer for the input signals. By using an AWG with 100 GHz spacing, clock extraction from transmitted multi-channel nonreturn to zero (NRZ) and NRZ differential phase shift keying (NRZ-DPSK) signals at mixed bit-rates from 10 to 40 Gb/s with 200 GHz spacing is achieved simultaneously. By cascading a clock recovery module, clock signal can be easily recovered from the preprocessed signals with enhanced clock tones.  相似文献

By using a semiconductor laser amplifier (SLA) with a three-wavelength configuration, which works as a nonlinear element in an optical loop mirror, a demultiplexer device for ultra-fast processing is presented. The simulation shows that its switching time can be less than 10 ps at the holding beam power of 1 W, therefore it has the ability of demultiplexing one bit data from 100 Gb/s Optical Time Division Multiplexing (OTDM) pulse trains at the control power of 1 W.  相似文献

In this paper, we have demonstrated the quality-of-service offered by the metropolitan area network which is based on optical cross connect (OXC) and arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) demultiplexer operating at 10 Gb/s with 0.1 nm channel spacing for NRZ signal transmission. The data is successfully transmitted to a distance of 40 km with a reasonably good BER of 2.388 × 10−35. The OXC and AWG demultiplexers in the proposed architecture allow incremental expansion in terms of the number of wavelength channels to be transmitted. Dispersion and crosstalk are the main signal-degrading factors arising from the operation of the OXC and the effectiveness of each factor is individually investigated.  相似文献

提出一种利用双向使用高非线性光纤(HNLF)实现同时解复用出两路信号的全光解复用方案.将复用信号和控制光的混合信号从HNLF的两端同时注入,复用信号中的某一路信号通过交叉相位调制使控制光产生蓝移或红移,在HNLF的输出端用窄带滤波器将控制光的蓝移或红移部分滤出从而同时实现两路信号解复用.理论分析了信号光和控制光在HNLF中的相互作用和解复用原理.搭建80 Gbit/s光时分复用系统,对双向使用HNLF的解复用结构进行了实验研究.在HNLF的两个输出端同时实现不同信道的无误码解复用,其中信道解复用的最大功率代价为2.6 dB.  相似文献

We are using different approaches to gain flattening in EDFAs without using additional components; i.e., gain flattening filter, dispersion shift fiber, periodic gratings, etc. By using gain flatten approach 3, it is possible to achieve the transmission of sixteen channels at 40 Gb/s wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) over a transmission distance of 490 km by single-mode fiber and dispersion-compensating fiber at a span of 70 km with channel spacing of 200 GHz. We observed the bit error rate less than 10-9 and power of received signal more than -5 dBm with NRZ-DPSK format.  相似文献

A novel ultrahigh-speed all-optical demultiplexer (DMUX) with polarization-shift-keying (PolSK) modulation input signals is proposed. This design is based on four-wave mixing (FWM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). For analyzing each amplifier, we use finite-difference method (FDM) based on solution of the traveling wave coupled equations. Using numerical simulation, the all-optical DMUX is theoretically realized at 40 Gb/s. We also study the relation between optical confinement factor and thickness of active layer of the SOA section successfully, and investigate the increasing effect of confinement factor on the DMUX optical output power. With this work, the confinement factor is increased from 0.3 to 0.48, and as a result, the output power approximately twice of its initial value is achieved. Moreover, the effects of polarization dependence of SOA on the output performance of all-optical DMUX for PolSK signal are theoretically investigated in detail.  相似文献

All-optical multibit address recognition at 20 Gb/s is demonstrated based on a special AND logic of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer (TOAD). The semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) used in the TOAD is biased at transparency status to accelerate the gain recovery. This is the highest bit rate that multibit address recognition is demonstrated with SOA-based interferometer. The experimental results show low pattern dependency.
