Lascar described E KP as a composition of E L and the topological closure of E L (Casanovas et al. in J Math Log 1(2):305–319). We generalize this result to some other pairs of equivalence relations. Motivated by an attempt to construct a new example of a non-G-compact theory, we consider the following example. Assume G is a group definable in a structure M. We define a structure M′ consisting of M and X as two sorts, where X is an affine copy of G and in M′ we have the structure of M and the action of G on X. We prove that the Lascar group of M′ is a semi-direct product of the Lascar group of M and G/G L . We discuss the relationship between G-compactness of M and M′. This example may yield new examples of non-G-compact theories. The first author is supported by the Polish Goverment grant N N201 384134. An f-coloring of a graph G is an edge-coloring of G such that each color appears at each vertex v V(G) at most f(v) times. The minimum number of colors needed to f-color G is called the f-chromatic index of G and is denoted by X′f(G). Any simple graph G has the f-chromatic index equal to △f(G) or △f(G) + 1, where △f(G) =max v V(G){[d(v)/f(v)]}. If X′f(G) = △f(G), then G is of f-class 1; otherwise G is of f-class 2. In this paper, a class of graphs of f-class 1 are obtained by a constructive proof. As a result, f-colorings of these graphs with △f(G) colors are given.  相似文献

The hyperoperations, called theta-operations (δ), are motivated from the usual property, which the derivative has on the derivation of a product of functions. Using any map on a set, one can define δ-operations. In this paper, we continue our study on the δ-operations on groupoids, rings, fields and vector spaces or on the corresponding hyperstructures. Using δ-operations one obtains, mainly, Hwstructures, which form the largest class of the hyperstructures. For representation theory of hyperstructures, by hypermatrices, one needs special Hv-rings or Hy-fields, so these hyperstructures can be used. Moreover, we study the relation of these δ-structures with other classes of hyperstructures, especially with the Hv-structures.  相似文献

In the present paper we discuss in detail the cohomogeneity one isometric actions of the Lie groups SU(3) × SU(3) and SU(3) on the exceptional compact symmetric spaces G2 and G2/SO(4), respectively. We show that the principal orbits coincide with the tubular hypersurfaces around the totally geodesic singular orbits, and the symmetric spaces G2 and G2/SO(4) can be thought of as compact tubes around SU(3) and P2, respectively. Moreover, we determine the radii of these tubes and describe the shape operators of the principal orbits. We prove that if G is a compact Hausdorff group then every G-ANR has the G-homotopy type of a G-CW complex. This is applied to extend the James–Segal G-homotopy equivalence theorem to the case of arbitrary compact group actions. We study the percolative properties of random interlacements on G×ℤ, where G is a weighted graph satisfying certain sub-Gaussian estimates attached to the parameters α>1 and 2≤βα+1, describing the respective polynomial growths of the volume on G and of the time needed by the walk on G to move to a distance. We develop decoupling inequalities, which are a key tool in showing that the critical level u for the percolation of the vacant set of random interlacements is always finite in our set-up, and that it is positive when α≥1+β/2. We also obtain several stretched exponential controls both in the percolative and non-percolative phases of the model. Even in the case where G=ℤ d , d≥2, several of these results are new.  相似文献

Fractals and multivalued fractals play an important role in biology, quantum mechanics, computer graphics, dynamical systems, astronomy and astrophysics, geophysics, etc. Especially, there are important consequences of the iterated function (or multifunction) systems theory in several topics of applied sciences. It is known that examples of fractals and multivalued fractals are coming from fixed point theory for single-valued and multivalued operators, via the so-called fractal and multi-fractal operators. On the other hand, the most common setting for the study of fractals and multi-fractals is the case of operators on complete or compact metric spaces. The purpose of this paper is to extend the study of fractal operator theory for multivalued operators on complete b-metric spaces.  相似文献

For a finite group G, let E(G) denote the near-ring of functions generated by the semigroup, End(G), of endomorphisms of G. We characterize when E(G) is maximal as a subnear-ring of M 0(G). A group G is an E-group if E(G) is a ring. We give a new characterization of finite E-groups and investigate the problem of determining, for finite E-groups, when E(G) is maximal as a ring in M0(G). We continue our investigation on how small a sumset can be in a given abelian group. Here small takes into account not only the size of the sumset itself but also the number of elements which are repeated at least twice. A function λ G (r, s) computing the minimal size (in this sense) of the sum of two sets with respective cardinalities r and s is introduced. (Lower and upper) bounds are obtained, which coincide in most cases. While upper bounds are obtained by constructions, lower bounds follow in particular from the use of a recent theorem by Grynkiewicz.  相似文献

Given a set π of primes, say that the Baer-Suzuki π-theorem holds for a finite group G if only an element of O π(G) can, together with each conjugate element, generate a π-subgroup. We find a sufficient condition for the Baer-Suzuki π-theorem to hold for a finite group in terms of nonabelian composition factors. We show also that in case 2 ∉ π the Baer-Suzuki π-theorem holds for every finite group.  相似文献

At the end of the twentieth century, in mathematical physics, the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations for the root systems A n and their generalizations for the root systems of types B n , C n , and D were constructed. For the root system of type G 2, the vector version of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations was obtained by M. P. Zamakhovskii and V. P. Leksin. However, the tensor version of these equations has remained unstudied.
