We study the perturbation to symmetries and adiabatic invariants of a generalized Birkhoff system. Based on the invariance of differential equations under infinitesimal transformations, Lie symmetries, laws of conservations, perturbation to the symmetries and adiabatic invariants of the generalized Birkhoff system are presented. First, the concepts of Lie symmetries and higher order adiabatic invariants of the generalized Birkhoff system are proposed. Then, the conditions for the existence of the exact invariants and adiabatic invariants are proved, and their forms are given. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate the method and results.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss symmetries of a nonlinear wave equation that arises as a consequence of some Riemannian metrics of signature −2. The objective of this study is to show how geometry can be responsible in giving rise to a nonlinear inhomogeneous wave equation rather than assuming nonlinearities in the wave equation from physical considerations. We find Lie point symmetries of the corresponding wave equations and give their solutions in two cases. Some interesting physical conclusions relating to conservation laws such as energy, linear and angular momenta are also determined.  相似文献

Traditionally there do not exist integralinvariants for a nonconservative system in the phasespace of the system. For weak nonconservative systems,whose dynamical equations admit adjoint symmetries, there exist Poincare and Poincare-Cartanintegral invariants on an extended phase space, wherethe set of dynamical equations and their adjointequations are canonical. Integrability conditions for difference equations admitting a second order formal recursion operator are presented and the derivation of symmetries and canonical conservation laws are discussed. In a generic case, some of these conditions yield nonlocal conservation laws. A new integrable equation satisfying the second order integrability conditions is presented and its integrability is established by the construction of symmetries, conservation laws and a 3 × 3 Lax representation. Finally, via the relation of the symmetries of this equation to the Bogoyavlensky lattice, an integrable asymmetric quad equation and a consistent pair of difference equations are derived.  相似文献

In this letter, the Lie point symmetries of a class of Gordon-type wave equations that arise in the Milne space-time are presented and analysed. Using the Lie point symmetries, it is showed how to reduce Gordon-type wave equations using the method of invariants, and to obtain exact solutions corresponding to some boundary values. The Noether point symmetries and conservation laws are obtained for the Klein–Gordon equation in one case. Finally, the existence of higherorder variational symmetries of a projection of the Klein–Gordon equation is investigated using the multiplier approach.  相似文献

We study higher-order Lagrangian mechanics on thek-velocity manifold. The variational problem gives rise to new concepts, such as main invariants, Zermelo conditions, higher-order energies, and new conservation laws. A theorem of Noether type is proved for higher-order Lagrangians. The invariants to the infinitesimal symmetries are explicitly written. All this construction is a natural extension of classical Lagrangian mechanics.  相似文献

For a nonholonomic mechanics system with the action of small disturbance, the Lie symmetrical perturbation and adiabatic invariants of generalized Hojman type are studied under general infinitesimal transformations of groups in which the generalized coordinates and time are variable. On the basis of the invariance of disturbed nonholonomic dynamical equations under general infinitesimal transformations, the determining equations, the constrained restriction equations and the additional restriction equations of Lie symmetries of the system are constructed, which only depend on the variables t, qs and q^.s. Based on the definition of higher-order adiabatic invariants of a mechanical system, the perturbation of Lie symmetries for a nonholonomic system with the action of small disturbance is investigated, and the Lie symmetrical adiabatic invariants, the weakly Lie symmetrical adiabatic invariants and the strongly Lie symmetrical adiabatic invariants of generalized Hojman type of disturbed nonholonomic systems are obtained. 基于El-Nabulsi动力学模型,研究了小扰动作用下Birkhoff系统Noether对称性的摄动与绝热不变量问题.首先,将El-Nabulsi提出的在分数阶微积分框架下基于Riemann-Liouville分数阶积分的非保守系统动力学模型拓展到Birkhoff系统,建立El-Nabulsi-Birkhoff方程;其次,基于在无限小变换下El-Nabulsi-Pfaff作用量的不变性,给出Noether准对称性的定义和判据,得到了Noether对称性导致的精确不变量;再次,引入力学系统的绝热不变量概念,研究El-Nabulsi动力学模型下受小扰动作用的Birkhoff系统Noether对称性的摄动与绝热不变量之间的关系,得到了对称性摄动导致的绝热不变量的条件及其形式.作为特例,给出了El-Nabulsi动力学模型下相空间中非保守系统和经典Birkhoff系统的Noether对称性的摄动与绝热不变量.以著名的Hojman-Urrutia问题为例,研究其在El-Nabulsi动力学模型下的Noether对称性,得到了相应的精确不变量和绝热不变量.  相似文献

The self-similar relaxation of helicity in homogeneous turbulence has been considered taking into account integral invariants ∫ 0 r m u(x)ω(x + r)〉 dr = I m h (where ω = curlu and r = |r|). It has been shown that integral invariants with m = 3 for both helicity and energy are possible in addition to helical analogs of Loitsyanskii (m = 4) and Birkhoff-Saffman (m = 2) invariants associated with the conservation laws of momentum and angular momentum, respectively. Helicity always relaxes more rapidly than the energy. Its decay exponent is in the interval from ?3/2 to ?5/2 versus the interval from ?6/5 to ?10/7 for the energy.  相似文献

In a recent study Noether symmetries of some static spacetime metrics in comparison with Killing vectors of corresponding spacetimes were studied. It was shown that Noether symmetries provide additional conservation laws that are not given by Killing vectors. In an attempt to understand how Noether symmetries compare with conformal Killing vectors, we find the Noether symmetries of the flat Friedmann cosmological model. We show that the conformally transformed flat Friedman model admits additional conservation laws not given by the Killing or conformal Killing vectors. Inter alia, these additional conserved quantities provide a mechanism to twice reduce the geodesic equations via the associated Noether symmetries.  相似文献

In this paper,the problem of determining the most general Lie point symmetries group and conservation laws of a well known nonlinear hyperbolic PDE in mathematical physics called the Hunter-Saxton equation(HSE) is analyzed.By applying the basic Lie symmetry method for the HSE,the classical Lie point symmetry operators are obtained.Also,the algebraic structure of the Lie algebra of symmetries is discussed and an optimal system of onedimensional subalgebras of the HSE symmetry algebra which creates the preliminary classification of group invariant solutions is constructed.Particularly,the Lie invariants as well as similarity reduced equations corresponding to infinitesimal symmetries are obtained.Mainly,the conservation laws of the HSE are computed via three different methods including Boyer's generalization of Noether's theorem,first homotopy method and second homotopy method.  相似文献

Using a single photon counting technique we were able to measure with very high time resolution the rise and decay times of the luminescence of free excitons and electron hole drops in Si. It was found that the formation and decay of droplets can be described by kinetic equations. The experimental data concerning the time behavior of the free excitons cannot be described by analogous simple kinetic equations. Therefore it is concluded that droplets are formed directly from a dense plasma rather than from a free exciton gas.  相似文献

Kinetic equations with relaxation collision kernels are considered under the basic assumption of two collision invariants, namely mass and energy. The collision kernels are of BGK-type with a general local Gibbs state, which may be quite different from the Gaussian. By the use of the diffusive length/time scales, energy transport systems consisting of two parabolic equations with the position density and the energy density as unknowns are derived on a formal level. The H theorem for the kinetic model is presented, and the entropy for the energy transport systems, which is inherited from the kinetic model, is derived. The energy transport systems for specific examples of the global Gibbs state, such as a power law with negative exponent, a cut-off power law with positive exponent, the Maxwellian, Bose–Einstein, and Fermi–Dirac distributions, arepresented. Based on the invariance of differential equations under infinitesimal transformations of group, Lie symmetries, exact invariants, perturbation to the symmetries and adiabatic invariants in form of non-Noether for a Lagrange system are presented. Firstly, the exact invariants of generalized Hojman type led directly by Lie symmetries for a Lagrange system without perturbations are given. Then, on the basis of the concepts of Lie symmetries and higher order adiabatic invariants of a mechanical system, the perturbation of Lie symmetries for the system with the action of small disturbance is investigated, the adiabatic invariants of generalized Hojman type for the system are directly obtained, the conditions for existence of the adiabatic invariants and their forms are proved. We study the influence of an aperiodic extended surface perturbation on the surface critical behaviour of the two-dimensional Ising model in the extreme anisotropic limit. The perturbation decays as a power of the distance l from the free surface with an oscillating amplitude where follows some aperiodic sequence with an asymptotic density equal to 1/2 so that the mean amplitude vanishes. The relevance of the perturbation is discussed by combining scaling arguments of Cordery and Burkhardt for the Hilhorst-van Leeuwen model and Luck for aperiodic perturbations. The relevance-irrelevance criterion involves the decay exponent , the wandering exponent which governs the fluctuation of the sequence and the bulk correlation length exponent . Analytical results are obtained for the surface magnetization which displays a rich variety of critical behaviours in the -plane. The results are checked through a numerical finite-size-scaling study. They show that second-order effects must be taken into account in the discussion of the relevance-irrelevance criterion. The scaling behaviours of the first gap and the surface energy are also discussed. Received 1 December 1998  相似文献

It is argued that there is no evidence for causality as a metaphysical relation in quantum phenomena. The assumptions that there are no causal laws, but only probabilities for physical processes constrained by symmetries, leads naturally to quantum mechanics. In particular, an argument is made for why there are probability amplitudes that are complex numbers. This argument generalizes the Feynman path integral formulation of quantum mechanics to include all possible terms in the action that are allowed by the symmetries, but only the lowest order terms are observable at the presently accessible energy scales, which is consistent with observation. The notion of relational reality is introduced in order to give physical meaning to probabilities. This appears to give rise to a new interpretation of quantum mechanics.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss symmetries of classes of wave equations that arise as a consequence of some Vaidya metrics. We show how the wave equation is altered by the underlying geometry. In particular, a range of consequences on the form of the wave equation, the symmetries and number of conservation laws, inter alia, are altered by the manifold on which the model wave rests. We find Lie and Noether point symmetries of the corresponding wave equations and give some reductions. Some interesting physical conclusions relating to conservation laws such as energy, linear and angular momenta are also determined. We also present some interesting comparisons with the standard wave equations on a flat geometry. Finally, we pursue the existence of higher-order variational symmetries of equations on nonflat manifolds.  相似文献
