The results obtained showed that the addition of small amounts of LiNO3 to the reacting mixed solids, consisting of equimolar proportion of Fe2O3 and basic MgCO3 much enhanced the thermal decomposition of magnesium carbonate. The addition of 12 mol% LiNO3 (6 mol% Li2O) decreased the decomposition temperature of MgCO3 from 525.5 to362°C. MgO underwent solid–solid interaction with Fe2O3 at temperatures starting from800°C yielding MgFe2O4. The amount of ferrite produced increased by increasing the precalcination temperature of the mixed solids. However, the completion of this reaction required prolonged heating at elevated temperature above 1100°C. Doping with Li2O much enhanced the solid–solid interaction between the mixed oxides leading to the formation of MgFe2O4 phase at temperatures starting from 700°C. The addition of 6 mol% Li2O to the mixed solids followed by precalcination at 1050°C for 4 h resulted in complete conversion of the reacting oxides into magnesium ferrite. The heat treatment of pure and doped solids at 900–1050°C effected the disappearance of most of IR transmission bands of the free oxides with subsequent appearance of new bands characteristic for MgFe2O4 structure. The promotion effect of Li2O towards the ferrite formation was attributed to an effective increase in the mobility of the various reacting cations. The activation energy of formation (ΔE) of magnesium ferrite was determined for pure and variously doped solids and the values obtained were 203, 126, 95 and 61 kJ mol−1 for pure mixed solids and those treated with 1.5, 3.0 and 6.0 mol% Li2O, respectively. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Microwave irradiation of a suspension of γ-MnOOH in a 4 mol dm−3 LiOH solution brought about a rapid formation of semicrystalline orthorhombic LiMnO2 (o-LiMnO2) within 30 min at 120°C. Cubic Li1.6Mn1.6O4 was obtained by heating o-LiMnO2 at 400°C; lithium could be topotactically extracted from Li1.6Mn1.6O4 with acid to form cubic H1.6Mn1.6O4.  相似文献

Mn/Fe mixed oxide solids doped with Al2O3 (0.32-1.27 wt.%) were prepared by impregnation of manganese nitrate with finely powdered ferric oxide, then treated with different amounts of aluminum nitrate. The obtained samples were calcined in air at 700-1000 °C for 6 h. The specific surface area (SBET) and the catalytic activity of pure and doped precalcined at 700-1000 °C have been measured by using N2 adsorption isotherms and CO oxidation by O2. The structure and the phase changes were characterized by DTA and XRD techniques. The obtained results revealed that Mn2O3 interacted readily with Fe2O3 to produce well-crystallized manganese ferrite (MnFe2O4) at temperatures of 800 °C and above. The degree of propagation of this reaction increased by Al2O3-doping and also by increasing the heating temperature. The treatment with 1.27 wt.% Al2O3 followed by heating at 1000 °C resulted in complete conversion of Mn/Fe oxides into the corresponding ferrite phase. The catalytic activity and SBET of pure and doped solids were found to decrease, by increasing both the calcination temperature and the amount of Al2O3 added, due to the enhanced formation of MnFe2O4 phase which is less reactive than the free oxides (Mn2O3 and Fe2O3). The activation energy of formation (ΔE) of MnFe2O4 was determined for pure and doped solids. The promotion effect of aluminum in formation of MnFe2O4 was attributed to an effective increase in the mobility of reacting cations.  相似文献

Superfine Li1−xMn2O4−σ powders were successfully synthesized by the alcohol-thermal method using 0.01 mol of MnO2, 0.01mol of LiOH·H2O, and 0.06mol of NaOH as starting materials at 160-200°C. The products are characterized by XRD, TEM, ED, BET, and ICP. Results show that the Li0.74Mn2O3.74 powder prepared at 200°C has an average size of 180 nm with BET surface areas of 16.44 m2/g. A possible formation mechanism is proposed. It was concluded that the alcohol acts not only as the solvent but also as the reducing agent in the synthesis of Li1−xMn2O4−σ powders. The effects of reaction temperature and the contents of NaOH and LiOH on the formation of single phase Li1−xMn2O4−σ were investigated.  相似文献

Effect of surface fluorination and conductive additives on the charge/discharge behavior of lithium titanate (Li4/3Ti5/3O4) has been investigated using F2 gas and vapor grown carbon fiber (VGCF). Surface fluorination of Li4/3Ti5/3O4 was made using F2 gas (3 × 104 Pa) at 25-150 °C for 2 min. Charge capacities of Li4/3Ti5/3O4 samples fluorinated at 70 °C and 100 °C were larger than those for original sample at high current densities of 300 and 600 mA/g. Optimum fluorination temperatures of Li4/3Ti5/3O4 were 70 °C and 100 °C. Fibrous VGCF with a large surface area (17.7 m2/g) increased the utilization of available capacity of Li4/3Ti5/3O4 probably because it provided the better electrical contact than acetylene black (AB) between Li4/3Ti5/3O4 particles and nickel current collector.  相似文献

A new, simple technique has been demonstrated for fabricating high-capacity composite electrode structures. In this technique, Li2MnO3 is leached in acid in the presence of soluble transition metal ions and subsequently annealed between 450 and 850 °C. The technique can be used to prepare a wide variety of composite compounds, in particular, a new family of ‘layered–rocksalt’ xLi2MnO3·(1−x)MO (e.g., M = Ni and Co) structures and modifications thereof, as well as ‘layered–layered’ xLi2MnO3·(1−x)LiMO2 (e.g., M = Mn, Ni, and Co) and ‘layered–spinel’ xLi2MnO3·(1−x)LiM2O4 (e.g., M = Mn and Ni). This novel approach also holds promise for 1) synthesizing materials that reduce the extent of internal phase transitions of composite cathode structures with a high manganese content, and 2) minimizing the extent to which cells need to be electrochemically activated to remove Li2O, thereby reducing the extent of the irreversible capacity loss on the first charge/discharge cycle.  相似文献

Garnet-structure related metal oxides with the nominal chemical composition of Li5La3Nb2O12, In-substituted Li5.5La3Nb1.75In0.25O12 and K-substituted Li5.5La2.75K0.25Nb2O12 were prepared by solid-state reactions at 900, 950, and 1000 °C using appropriate amounts of corresponding metal oxides, nitrates and carbonates. The powder XRD data reveal that the In- and K-doped compounds are isostructural with the parent compound Li5La3Nb2O12. The variation in the cubic lattice parameter was found to change with the size of the dopant ions, for example, substitution of larger In3+(rCN6: 0.79 Å) for smaller Nb5+ (rCN6: 0.64 Å) shows an increase in the lattice parameter from 12.8005(9) to 12.826(1) Å at 1000 °C. Samples prepared at higher temperatures (950, 1000 °C) show mainly bulk lithium ion conductivity in contrast to those synthesized at lower temperatures (900 °C). The activation energies for the ionic conductivities are comparable for all samples. Partial substitution of K+ for La3+ and In3+ for Nb5+ in Li5La3Nb2O12 exhibits slightly higher ionic conductivity than that of the parent compound over the investigated temperature regime 25-300 °C. Among the compounds investigated, the In-substituted Li5.5La3Nb1.75In0.25O12 exhibits the highest bulk lithium ion conductivity of 1.8×10−4 S/cm at 50 °C with an activation energy of 0.51 eV. The diffusivity (“component diffusion coefficient”) obtained from the AC conductivity and powder XRD data falls in the range 10−10-10−7 cm2/s over the temperature regime 50-200 °C, which is extraordinarily high and comparable with liquids. Substitution of Al, Co, and Ni for Nb in Li5La3Nb2O12 was found to be unsuccessful under the investigated conditions.  相似文献

The effect of lithium and manganese ions on the synthesis, phase purity, and electrochemical properties of tartaric acid gel processed lithium manganese oxide spinel were investigated. The poor bonding between both lithium and manganese ions with tartaric acid was shown by the FT-IR analysis when lithium nitrate and/or manganese nitrate were used as sources. Li2MnO3 and Mn2O3 impurities formed in addition to lithium manganese oxides when nitrate salts were used as the sources. When acetate salts were used as sources for the lithium and manganese ions, single-phase LiMn2O4 was obtained. These results indicate that homogeneous bonding between acetate salt and tartaric acid was formed. The capacity of single-phase LiMn2O4 calcined at 500°C was 117 mAh/g which was much higher than those containing Mn2O3 and Li2MnO3 impurity compounds. Thus, sources of lithium and manganese ions play an important role in the synthesis and electrochemical behaviors of lithium manganese oxide spinel.  相似文献

LiMnC2O4(Ac) precursor in which Li+ and Mn2+ were amalgamated in one molecule was prepared by solid-state reaction at room-temperature using manganese acetate, lithium hydroxide and oxalic acid as raw materials. By thermo-decomposition of LiMnC2O4(Ac) at various temperatures, a series of Li1+y[Mn2−xLix]16dO4 spinels were prepared with Li2MnO3 as impurities. The structure and phase transition of these spinels were investigated by XRD, TG/DTA, average oxidation state of Mn and cyclic voltammeric techniques. Results revealed that the Li-Mn-O spinels with high Li/Mn ratio were unstable at high temperature, and the phase transition was associated with the transfer of Li+ from octahedral 16c sites to 16d sites. With the sintering temperature increasing from 450 to 850 °C, the phase structure varied from lithiated-spinel Li2Mn2O4 to Li4Mn5O12-like to LiMn2O4-like and finally to rock-salt LiMnO2-like. A way of determining x with average oxidation state of Mn and the content of Li2MnO3 was also demonstrated.  相似文献

Li4Ti5O12 nanoparticles were precipitated from ethylene glycol solution of titanium tetra isopropoxide (Ti(O-iPr)4) and Li2O2 by refluxing at 197 °C for 12 h. The obtained particles were filtered and dried at 100 °C for 12 h, and the dried powder samples were heated at 320, 500 and 800 °C for 3 h. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the obtained samples exhibited a good fit with the spinel phase. The field emission-SEM images of the dried powder sample and the samples heated at 320, 500 and 800 °C for 3 h showed a uniform spherical morphology with a particle size of 5, 8, 10 and 400 nm, respectively. According to the results of electrochemical testing, the dried powder sample and the samples heated at 320, 500, and 800 °C for 3 h showed initial capacities of 200, 310, 320, and 260 mA h/g, respectively, at a current density of 0.05 mA/cm2. Nanosized (6–8 nm) particles with good crystallinity were obtained by controlling the synthesis conditions. The sample heated at 500 °C for 3 h exhibited a high capacity and an excellent rate capability over 60 cycles.  相似文献

The first purely alkoxide-based sol-gel route to nano-phase powders and thin films of perovskite La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 is described. The phase and microstructure evolution on heat treatment of free gel films to form the target nano-phase oxide were investigated by TGA, IR spectroscopy, powder XRD, SEM and TEM-EDS. The xerogel consisted of a hydrated oxo-carbonate, without remaining alkoxo groups or solvent. Heating at 5°C·min–1 decomposed the carbonate groups and yielded the pure perovskite La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 at 760°C. The cell dimensions were virtually unchanged from the first observation of perovskite at 680°C, to 1000°C, 4 h. The monoclinic cell of La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 obtained at 1000°C, 4 h, had the dimensions a = 5.475(1), b = 5.504(2), c = 7.771(1) Å, = 90.50(2), fitting the literature data quite well. Crack-free, homogenous, 150 nm thick La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 films were prepared by spin-coating Si/SiO2/TiO2/Pt and polycrystalline -Al2O3 substrates with a 0.6 M alkoxide solution, followed by heating at 5°C·min–1 to 800°C, 30 min.  相似文献

The solid–solid interactions in pure and MoO3-doped CuO/MgO system were investigated using TG, DTA and XRD. The composition of pure mixed solids were 0.1CuO/MgO, 0.2CuO/MgO and 0.3CuO/MgO and the concentrations of MoO3 were 2.5 and 5 mol%. These solids were prepared by wet impregnation of finely powdered basic magnesium carbonate with solutions containing calculated amounts of copper nitrate and ammonium molybdate followed by heating at 400–1000°C. The results revealed that ammonium molybdate doping of the system investigated enhanced the thermal decomposition of copper nitrate and magnesium hydroxide which decomposed at temperatures lower than those observed in case of the undoped mixed solids by 70 and 100°C, respectively. A portion of CuO present dissolved in the lattice of MgO forming CuO–MgO solid solution with subsequent limited increase in its lattice parameter. The other portion interacted readily with a portion of MoO3 at temperatures starting from 400°C yielding CuMoO4 which remained stable up to 1000°C. The other portion of MoO3 interacted with MgO producing MgMoO4 at temperatures starting from 400°C and remained also stable at 1000°C. The diffraction peaks of Cu2MgO3 phase were detected in the diffractograms of pure and MoO3-doped 0.3CuO/MgO precalcined at 1000°C. The formation of this phase was accompanied by an endothermic peak at 930°C.  相似文献

A new system of electrolytes has been developed and studied for lithium-ion batteries. This new system is based on the interactions between Li2O or Li2O2 and tris(pentafluorophenyl) borane (TPFPB) in carbonate based organic solvents. This opens up a completely new approach in developing non-aqueous electrolytes. In general, the solubility of Li2O or Li2O2 is very low in organic solvents and the ionic conductivities of these solutions are almost undetectable. By adding certain amount of tris(pentafluorophenyl) borane (TPFPB), one type of boron based anion receptors (BBARs), the solubility of Li2O or Li2O2 in carbonate based solvents was significantly enhanced. In addition, the Li+ transference numbers of these new electrolytes measured were as high as 0.7, which are more than 100% higher than the values for the conventional electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries. The room-temperature conductivities are around 1 × 10−3 S/cm. These new electrolytes are compatible with LiMn2O4 cathode for lithium-ion batteries.  相似文献

Layered LiNi0.4Co0.2Mn0.4O2, Li[Li0.182Ni0.182Co0.091Mn0.545]O2, Li[Li1/3Mn2/3]O2 powder materials were prepared by rheological phase method. XRD characterization shows that these samples all have analogous structure to LiCoO2. Li[Li0.182Ni0.182Co0.091Mn0.545]O2 can be considered to be the solid solution of LiNi0.4Co0.2Mn0.4O2 and Li[Li1/3Mn2/3]O2. Detailed information from XRD, ex situ XPS measurement and electrochemical analysis of these three materials reveals the origin of the irreversible plateau (4.5 V) of Li[Li0.182Ni0.182Co0.091Mn0.545]O2 electrode. The irreversible oxidation reaction occurred in the first charging above 4.5 V is ascribed to the contribution of Li[Li1/3Mn2/3]O2 component, which maybe extract Li+ from the transition layer in Li[Li1/3Mn2/3]O2 or Li[Li0.182Ni0.182Co0.091Mn0.545]O2 through oxygen release. This step also activates Mn4+ of Li[Li1/3Mn2/3]O2 or Li[Li0.182Ni0.182Co0.091Mn0.545]O2, it can be reversibly reduced/oxidized between Mn4+ and Mn3+ in the subsequent cycles.  相似文献

The reaction between lanthanum oxide and strontium carbonate was studied non-isothermally between 350 and 1150 °C at different heating rates, intermediates and the final solid product were characterized by X-ray diffractometry (XRD). The reaction proceeds through formation of lanthanum oxycarbonate La2O(CO3)2, lanthanum dioxycarbonate La2O2CO3, and non-stoichiometric strontium lanthanum oxide La2SrOx (x = 4 + δ). La4SrO7 was found to be the final product which begins to form at ∼700 °C. Li+ doping enhances the formation of the final product as well as commencement of the reactions at lower temperatures.  相似文献

The kinetics describing the thermal decomposition of Li4SiO4 and Li2SiO3 have been analysed. While Li4SiO4 decomposed on Li2SiO3 by lithium sublimation, Li2SiO3 was highly stable at the temperatures studied. Li4SiO4 began to decompose between 900 and 1000 °C. However, at 1100 °C or higher temperatures, Li4SiO4 melted, and the kinetic data of its decomposition varied. The activation energy of both processes was estimated according to the Arrhenius kinetic theory. The energy values obtained were −408 and −250 kJ mol−1 for the solid and liquid phases, respectively. At the same time, the Li4SiO4 decomposition process was described mathematically as a function of a diffusion-controlled reaction into a spherical system. The activation energy for this process was estimated to be −331 kJ mol−1. On the other hand, Li2SiO3 was not decomposed at high temperatures, but it presented a very high preferential orientation after the heat treatments.  相似文献

Manganese oxide samples obtained from thermal decomposition of manganese carbonate at 400 and 600 °C were subjected to different doses of g-irradiation within the range 0.2 to 1.6 MGy. The surface and catalytic properties of the above samples were studied using nitrogen adsorption isotherms measured at -196 °C and catalytic conversion of ethanol and isopropanol at 300-400 °C using micropulse technique. The results obtained revealed that manganese oxides obtained at 400 °C consisted of a mixture of Mn2O3 and MnO2 while the samples calcined at 600 °C composed entirely of Mn2O3. Gamma-irradiation resulted in a decrease in the particle size of manganese oxide phases with subsequent increase in their specific surface areas. Gamma-irradiation with 0.2 and 0.8 MGy effected a measurable progressive decrease in the catalytic activity in dehydration and dehydrogenation of both alcohols. However, the treated catalyst retained their initial activity upon exposure to a dose of 1.6 MGy. Also, g-irradiation increased the selectivities of the investigated solids towards dehydrogenation of both alcohols. The catalyst samples precalcined at 600 °C exhibited higher catalytic activities than those precalcined at 400 °C.  相似文献

Nb2O5 thin films were prepared by the Pechini method. The effect of the film crystallinity on the electrochemical and electrochromic properties was investigated. A relationship between the crystalline structure and the Li+ intercalation/extraction process, stability and kinetics was observed. A significant decrease in the electrochemical response was observed as a function of the number of cycles for films treated at 400 and 450 °C. However, as the calcination temperature increases this effect disappears. XRD studies shown that at 400 °C, the material is amorphous, evolving to orthorhombic phase. The transmittance variation as well as the coloration efficiency increases as the temperature is increased. In the initial cycles the intercalation charge is higher for the amorphous oxide than for the orthorhombic phase. However, the variation in the optical density is small. On the other hand, the charge of the orthorhombic phase oxide does not change. These results suggest that there are two different processes associated with Li+ intercalation, but only one of them leads to the coloration process.  相似文献
