This paper investigates the existence and multiplicity of nonnegative solutions to a singular nonlinear boundary value problem of second order differential equations with integral boundary conditions in a Banach space. The arguments are based on the construction of a nonempty bounded open convex set and fixed point index theory. Our nonlinearity possesses singularity and first derivative which makes it different with that in [10].  相似文献

Benedetto Bongiorno constructed a certain class of improperly Riemann integrable functions on [0,1] which are not first-return integrable. He asked if all improper Riemann integrable functions which are not Lebesgue integrable are not first-return integrable. Recently David Fremlin provided a clever example to show that this is not the case. It remains open as to which functions are first-return integrable. We prove two general theorems which imply the existence of a large class of improperly Riemann integrable functions which are not first-return integrable. As a corollary we obtain that there is an improperly Riemann integrable function which is C on (0,1] yet fails to be first-return integrable.  相似文献

We investigate the properties of an integral operator T with a Cauchy kernel. The operator acts from L (Γ, μ), where Γ is a Van Koch curve, to the space of functions ? → ?. We prove that the range of T is nontrivial and lies in the space AC(Γ) of functions continuous in ?, vanishing at ∞, and analytic outside Γ. We also show that T is injective and compact while satisfying some special functional equation. These results may be regarded as a natural continuation of our research on the problem of AC-removability of quasiconformal curves whose solution was announced in [1] for the first time and supplemented later with some other properties of Van Koch’s curves [2, 3]. In this paper the problem is discussed in a more general setting and, in particular, all important details lacking in [1] are given. Some open problems are formulated.  相似文献

For a simple graph G, the energy E(G) is defined as the sum of the absolute values of all eigenvalues of its adjacency matrix. Let G(n,p) denote the set of unicyclic graphs with n vertices and p pendent vertices. In [H. Hua, M. Wang, Unicyclic graphs with given number of pendent vertices and minimal energy, Linear Algebra Appl. 426 (2007) 478-489], Hua and Wang discussed the graphs that have minimal energy in G(n,p), and determined the minimal-energy graphs among almost all different cases of n and p. In their work, certain case of the values was left as an open problem in which the minimal-energy species have to be chosen in two candidate graphs, but cannot be determined by comparing of the corresponding coefficients of their characteristic polynomials. This paper aims at solving the problem completely, by using the well-known Coulson integral formula.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to present a general stochastic calculus approach to insider trading. We consider a market driven by a standard Brownian motion $B(t)$ on a filtered probability space $\displaystyle (\Omega,\F,\left\{\F\right\}_{t\geq 0},P)$ where the coefficients are adapted to a filtration ${\Bbb G}=\left\{\G_t\right\}_{0\leq t\leq T}$, with $\F_t\subset\G_t$ for all $t\in [0,T]$, $T>0$ being a fixed terminal time. By an {\it insider} in this market we mean a person who has access to a filtration (information) $\displaystyle{\Bbb H}=\left\{\H_t\right\}_{0\leq t\leq T}$ which is strictly bigger than the filtration $\displaystyle{\Bbb G}=\left\{\G_t\right\}_{0\leq t\leq T}$. In this context an insider strategy is represented by an $\H_t$-adapted process $\phi(t)$ and we interpret all anticipating integrals as the forward integral defined in [23] and [25]. We consider an optimal portfolio problem with general utility for an insider with access to a general information $\H_t \supset\G_t$ and show that if an optimal insider portfolio $\pi^*(t)$ of this problem exists, then $B(t)$ is an $\H_t$-semimartingale, i.e. the enlargement of filtration property holds. This is a converse of previously known results in this field. Moreover, if $\pi^*$ exists we obtain an explicit expression in terms of $\pi^*$ for the semimartingale decomposition of $B(t)$ with respect to $\H_t$. In this paper, we apply the boundary integral method to the linearized rotating Navier-Stokes equations in exterior domain. Introducing some open ball which decomposes the exterior domain into a finite domain and an infinite domain, we obtain a coupled problem by the linearized rotating Navier-Stokes equations in finite domain and a boundary integral equation without using the artificial boundary condition. For the coupled problem, we show the existence and uniqueness of solution. Finally, we study the finite element approximation for the coupled problem and obtain the error estimate between the solution of the coupled problem and its approximation solution.  相似文献

The uniquely solvable system of the Cauchy integral equation of the first kind and index 1 and an additional integral condition is treated. Such a system arises, for example, when solving the skew derivative problem for the Laplace equation outside an open arc in a plane. This problem models the electric current from a thin electrode in a semiconductor film placed in a magnetic field. A fast and accurate numerical method based on the discrete Fourier transform is proposed. Some computational tests are given. It is shown that the convergence is close to exponential.  相似文献

It is an open problem whether every one-dimensional extension of a triangular operator admits a separating vector. We prove that the answer is positive for many triangular Hilbert space operators, and in particular, for strictly triangular operators. This is revealing, because two-dimensional extensions of such operators can fail to have separating vectors.

The solution of the weak Neumann problem for the Laplace equation with a distribution as a boundary condition is studied on a general open set G in the Euclidean space. It is shown that the solution of the problem is the sum of a constant and the Newtonian potential corresponding to a distribution with finite energy supported on ∂G. If we look for a solution of the problem in this form we get a bounded linear operator. Under mild assumptions on G a necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the problem is given and the solution is constructed. 推广的KdV方程ut+αuux+μux3+εux5=0[1]是典型的可积方程.它先后在研究冷等离子体中磁声波的传播[2],传输线中孤立波[3]和分层流体中界面孤立波[4]时导出.本文对推广的KdV方程的特征问题,在Riemann函数的基础上,设计一恰当结构,并由此化待征问题为一与之等价的积分微分方程.而该积分微分方程对应的映射E是列自身的映射[5],依不动点原理,积分微分方程有唯一的正则解,即推广的KdV方程的特征问题有唯一解,且由积分微分方程序列所得的迭代解于Ω上一致收敛.  相似文献

A non-local abstract Cauchy problem with a singular integral is studied, which is a closed system of two evolution equations for a real-valued function and a function-valued function. By proposing an appropriate Banach space, the well-posedness of the evolution system is proved under some boundedness and smoothness conditions on the coefficient functions. Furthermore, an isomorphism is established to extend the result to a partial integro-differential equation with a singular convolution kernel, which is a generalized form of the stationary Wigner equation. Our investigation considerably improves the understanding of the open problem concerning the well-posedness of the stationary Wigner equation with in ow boundary conditions.  相似文献

An eigenvalue problem for a differential operator connected with the heat conduction of a non-steady flow is considered.
