A steady-state Penning ion source is studied experimentally. Depending on the geometric parameter l a (the anode length to diameter ratio) and pressure, maxima are observed in the discharge current and in the ion beam current extracted from an aperture at the center of the cathode. It is shown that at pressures of the order of 10−4 Torr, two maxima appear in these currents: one, for short discharge gaps with l a =1–1.5, corresponds to a diverging ion beam, and the other, for longer anodes with l a =4–5, to a collimated ion beam. At pressures of the order of 10−5 Torr, only one maximum appears in these currents, for short anodes l a =2–3 with a diverging ion beam. A physical explanation is proposed for these findings. Zh. An experiment on the observation of spin polarization of metastable helium atoms interacting with optically oriented sodium atoms under continuous rf discharge conditions is described. Laser radiation with alternating-sign circular polarization, tuned to the resonance excitation of the 32 S 1/2–32 P 1/2 transition in Na atoms, is used as the source for optical pumping of ground-state sodium atoms. Results are presented of an investigation of the spectral and temporal characteristics of an electricdischarge excimer lamp emitting simultaneously on the 351 nm XeF, 308 nm XeCl, 249 nm KrF, and 222 nm KrCl transitions. The He/Kr/Xe/SF6/HCl working mixtures were excited in a transverse discharge with ultraviolet spark preionization at a total pressure of 25–100 kPa. In order to obtain the same brightness the concentration ratio [Kr]/[Xe] for the excimer molecular transitions was 8/0.8 kPa, and that for the halogen-containing molecules was [SF6]/[HCl][=[0.06–0.12]/[0.08–0.16] kPa. The duration of the radiation pulses for the excimer molecular transitions at atmospheric pressure was 100–200 ns and when the total mixture pressure was reduced to 250 kPa, this was doubled or trebled. Nanocomposite electrodes of recently identified polyanion cathode materials comprising Li x M2(MoO4)3 {0 ≤ x < 3} [M = Co, Ni] and nanosized carbon having ~10 nm particle size were found to show remarkable improvement in their discharge capacity compared to the one prepared with acetylene black. The addition of nanosized carbon as a conductive additive offered improved initial discharge capacity of 121 mAh/g between 3.5–2.0 V vs Li/Li. The cause for such an increase could be firmly attributed to the filling up of the grain–grain contact area of the active material, facilitating the intimate grain–grain contacts in the composite structure leading to enhanced capacity delivery. As for the nanocomposite Li x Co2(MoO4)3, it was found that at least 55% of its first discharge capacity was retained at the end of 20th cycle compared to its analogous counterpart, Li x Ni2(MoO4)3. We present the results of investigation into radiation of a pulsed transverse discharge in neon at a pressure of 10–200 kPa. Survey spectra of plasma radiation, time characteristics of radiation, and the effect of small impurities of water vapors and air on the optical characteristics of a neon plasma were studied. We show that at a pressure of residual gases at a level of 10 Pa intense OH*, NO*, and N * 2 bands are observed in radiation of the plasma of a nanosecond transverse discharge in Ne against the background of continuous plasma radiation, and in the spectral region with λ>400 nm radiation was observed on the Hβ 486.1 nm and NeI 585.3 nm lines, and (when P≥100 kPa) on the line at the 3s–3p-transitions of a Ne atom. The radiation intensity of the third continuum of neon increases with pressure and with energy contribution to plasma, with its maximum being located in the VUV spectral region (λ max <200 nm). The electrical and luminescent characteristics of a barrier-discharge lamp filled with a Kr/CCl4 (150: 1) mixture are experimentally studied versus the value of pd, which varies in the range (7.6–14) × 103 Pa cm. When simulating the gas discharge using similarity parameters, the following relationships are fulfilled: for pd = const (p is the pressure, d is the interelectrode distance), the pulse duration and the mean current density are τ j ∼ 1/p and 〈j〉 ∼ p; the surface charge density on the electrodes, σ ∼ const; the duration of the UV radiation pulse and the efficiency of UV radiation due to a KrCl* (222 nm) exciplex, τrad ∼ 1/p and η ∼ p 2. The maximal radiation efficiency achieved in the experiments is about 13%. Deviations from the similarity laws for the gas discharge are related to the filamentary form of the observed discharge. Qualitative analysis indicates that similarity laws may be fulfilled for such a form of discharge as well but locally, within a single filament.  相似文献

An exciplex halogen source of UV radiation that is excited by an rf transverse discharge is studied experimentally. The active medium of the source is an Ar-Xe-Cl2 mixture kept at a low pressure (100–1000 Pa), and its working spectral range is 220–450 nm. The radiation spectrum contains 235 nm XeCl(D-X), 257 nm Cl2(D′-A′), 306 nm XeCl(B-X), 390 nm XeCl(C-A), and 430 nm XeCl(B-A) lines. The results of optimization of the UV power as a function of the pressure, Ar-Xe-Cl2 mixture composition, and excitation power are reported.  相似文献

The exciton reflectance and photoluminescence spectra of epitaxial ZnSe/GaAs layers with a thickness of 2–4 μm are investigated in the temperature range 10–120 K. It is shown that one of the causes of the formation of the doublet structure of the A n=1 photoluminescence band is interference of the exciton radiation at the boundaries of the near-surface dead layer. Thermal conductivity ϰ of single-crystal (VO)2P2O7 has been studied within the 4–300 K range. A break was found in the ϰ(T) relation about 200 K, in the region of the transition from diffuse antiferromagnetic ordering (200–4 K) to a classical paramagnet (T=200–300 K). In the low-temperature domain (4–200 K), one may expect an additional contribution to ϰ(T) from the magnon component of thermal conductivity. Fiz. Tverd. The formation of ordered structures of charged macroparticles in a constant-current neon glow-discharge plasma is investigated. Experiments were performed with two types of particles: thin-walled glass spheres 50–63 μm in diameter and particles of Al2O3, 3–5 μm in diameter. Formation of quasicrystalline structures is observed in the standing strata and in an artificially created double electric layer. The formation of extended filamentary structures of macroparticles in the absence of visible stratification of the positive column has been observed for the first time. The influence of the discharge parameters on the formation of the ordered structures and their melting is examined. The form of the interaction potential between the charged macroparticles is considered, as well as changes in the conditions for maintaining the discharge in the presence of high concentrations of dust particles. The radiation of a pulsed-periodic discharge in CCl4 has been investigated. Its spectrum is found to differ considerably from the spectrum of the glow discharge. Results of an investigation of the characteristics of a transverse discharge with prebreakdown ionization multiplication of electrons in the working media of N2(C-B)-and SF6/H2 chemical HF-lasers are reported. The conditions of initiation of a stable volume discharge in the discharge gap with low homogeneity of the electrical-field distribution are investigated. A quasisteady plasma based on N2 molecules with a radiation duration of ≤0.5 μsec at transitions of the 2+-system and a homogeneous discharge in a SF6/H2=(3–7)/(1–2) kPa mixture, which is of interest for preionization of the working medium of an HF-laser by the predischarge method, are obtained. The formation of macroscopic ordered structures in the standing striations of a stationary glow discharge in Ne is observed. A Coulomb quasicrystal is formed by spherical glass particles with diameters of 50–63 μm and charge Z p~7·105 e. The interparticle distance is approximately 300 μm. This corresponds to a nonideality parameter Γ~5·104, which leads to crystallization in the Yukawa model. The factors leading to the formation of a quasicrystal in the striations are discussed. The results of an investigation of the ignition conditions and characteristics of a multiple-electrode corona discharge, intended to be used in the module which performs electrical blowing of the working media of high pressure lasers operating on fluorine atoms and molecules, in a tip-grid system are reported. Multiple ion-doped lithium manganese oxides LiCrxNixMn2-2xO4-zFz (0 < x ≤ 0.25, z =  0.05, 0.1) with a spinel structure and space group Fd m were prepared by using the co-precipitation procedure carried out in water–alcohol solvent using adipic acid as the chelating agent. The electrochemical measurements indicated that the charge/discharge capacities of the samples prepared at 600 °C are higher than that of the treatment at 800 °C or microwave heating. The capacitance-voltage (CV) curves of LiCrxNixMn2-2xO4-zFz (0 < x ≤ 0.25, z = 0.05, 0.1) showed that when x ≤ 0.1, the samples had two reduction–oxidation peaks at 4.0 to 4.2-V region, whereas when x > 0.1, the samples had only one reduction–oxidation peak at 4.0- to 4.2-V region in CV measurements and could offer more stable voltage plateau in a 4-V region and also had stable electrical conductivity after 20 cycles. Another reduction–oxidation peak appeared in 4.6-4.8-V region (Ni2+–Ni4+ reduction–oxidation peaks); this suggests that the LiCrxNixMn2-2xO4-zFz (0.1 < x≤ 0.25, z = 0.05, 0.1) cathode material could offer 4.6 to 4.8-V charge/discharge plateaus, and its specific capacity increases with increasing Ni2+. The impedance measurements of the cell proved that the F anion doped can not only prevent Mn3+ from disproportion but also can prevent the passivation film from forming and can help keep stable the cell’s electrical properties. The LiCr0.05Ni0.05Mn1.9O3.9F0.1 sintered at 600 °C shows the best cycle performance and the largest capacity in all prepared samples; its first discharge capacity is 120 mAh/g, and the discharge capacity loses only 1.78% after 20 cycles. After 100 cycles, it still remains in the spinel structure.  相似文献

The results of the first experiments devised to investigate the mixing of thin layers of Al and Au during the laser acceleration of flat three-layer targets of Si (5 μm), Al (2 μm), and Au (0.05–0.26 μm) by radiation converted to the second harmonic from the Iskra-4 iodine laser with an intensity of 4×1013−7×1013 W/cm2 (τ 0.5∼1 ns), which acts on the Si side of the target. A method for detecting the occurrence of mixing is developed. It is established that under the experimental conditions the thickness of the mixing region is at least ∼0.15 μm. A solution is found for the most general formulation of the problem of the thermodynamic limitations on the rate of increase of the free energy of a closed photochemical system interacting with a heat bath and a radiation field. Results are presented from the first stage of studies on the passage of an electron beam with energy 100–500 eV in a magnetic field of 300–700 Oe through the curvilinear solenoid of the KRéL unit, the latter being a prototype of the closing segment of the Drakon stellarator system, in the plasma-beam discharge regime. The ion density at the end of the curvilinear part of the chamber, n i ≈8×108–1010 cm−3, the electron temperature T e ≈4–15 eV, and the positions at which the beam hits the target for different distances from it to the electron source are determined experimentally. The motion of the electron beam is computationally modeled with allowance for the space charge created by the beam and the secondary plasma. From a comparison of the experimentally measured trajectories and trajectories calculated for different values of the space charge, we have obtained an estimate for the unneutralized ion density of the order of 5×107 cm−3. We describe a method for automated measurement of the integrated sensitivity of solar cells (SCs) and multielement photoconverters (MPCs) using an experimental apparatus including a Pentium III personal computer (PC), an HP-34401A digital multimeter (DM), a stabilized radiation source (SRS), a controllable focusing system, an X-Y positioning device based on CD-RW optical disk storage devices. The method provides high accuracy in measuring the size of photosensitive areas of the solar cells and multielement photoconverters and inhomogeneities in their active regions, which makes it possible to correct the production process in the development stage and during fabrication of test prototypes for the solar cells and multielement photoconverters. The radiation power from the stabilized radiation source was ≤1 W; the ranges of the scanning steps along the X, Y coordinates were 10–100 μm, the range of the transverse cross sectional diameters of the focused radiation beam was 10–100 μm, the measurable photocurrents were 10−9 A to 2 A; scanning rate along the X, Y coordinates, ≤100 mm/sec; relative mean-square error (RMSE) for measurement of the integrated sensitivity of the solar cells, 0.2 ≤ γS int ≤ 0.9% in the ranges of measurable photocurrents 1 mA ≤ Iph ≤ 750 mA and areas 0.1 ≤ A ≤ 25 cm2 for number of measurements equal to ≤ 2· 105; instability of the radiation power (luminosity) ≤ 0.08% for 1 h or ≤ 0.4% for 8 h continuous operation; stabilized power range for the stabilized radiation source, 10−2–102 W.
