Polyaniline (PAni) has important electro-conductive properties, high absorbance in microwave range and it is also frequently used in gas sensors because of its capability to convert chemical interactions into electrical signals. The methods of obtaining polyaniline in the form of thin films and/or nanostructures are complicated and request special physical and chemical treatments, both on the substrate surface and for the polymer itself. In this paper we applied matrix assisted pulsed lased evaporation (MAPLE) for obtaining thin films and nanostructures of polyaniline. In MAPLE, the target consisting of the material (usually 0.2-3 wt%) dissolved in a solvent is frozen and it is evaporated using a laser. In our case polyaniline-emeraldine salt (PAni-ES) was dissolved in xylene or toluene, frozen in liquid nitrogen and was used as target. The third and the fourth harmonics of a Nd-YAG laser (λ = 355 nm and 266 nm) were used as laser sources. The obtained films have been characterized by atomic force microscopy, dielectric spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The influence of the solvent type and of the laser parameters (wavelengths and fluence) on the polyaniline structures composition and properties has been investigated. 相似文献

Lactoferrin (Lf) is an iron-binding glycoprotein present in almost all mammalian secretions which plays an important role in host defense against microbial and viral infections. The protein has been reported to also have anti-inflammatory activity and antitumoral effects in vitro and in vivo.Thin films of Lf were deposited on silicon, quartz and Thermanox plastic coverslip substrates by Matrix Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation (MAPLE) technique, using a Nd:YAG laser working at 266 nm, at different laser fluences (0.1-0.8 J cm−2). The deposited layers have been characterized by Fourier Transformed Infra-Red spectroscopy (FTIR), and the morphology of the various substrates was investigated by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). The biocompatibility of lactoferrin thin films was evaluated for each substrate, by in vitro biochemical tests. 相似文献

Thin films based on two different metal-organic systems are developed by MAPLE and their nonlinear optical applications are explored. A complex of o,o′-dihydroxy azobenzene with Cu2+ cation is found to organize as a non-central symmetric crystallite. A simple protocol is developed for the in situ fabrication of highly monodisperse copper-complex nanoparticles in a polymer film matrix of polyacrylic acid. The thin films were deposited on quartz substrates by MAPLE (matrix assisted pulsed laser evaporation) using a Nd:YAG laser working at 355 nm. Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and optical second harmonic generation (SHG) were performed on the samples. The optical limiting capability of the nanoparticle-embedded polymer film is investigated. 相似文献

Thin lysozyme films of thickness up to more than 100 nm have been produced in a dry environment by MAPLE (matrix assisted pulsed laser evaporation) from a water ice matrix. Analysis of the films demonstrates that a significant part of the lysozyme molecules is transferred to the substrate without decomposition and that the protein activity is preserved. The film deposition rate for 1 wt% lysozyme has a maximum at 2 J/cm2 of about 1 ng/cm2 per laser shot. During the film production the deposition rate is constant without any sign of depletion or accumulation effects in the water ice target or in the growing film. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images demonstrate that the silicon substrate is completely covered by lysozyme films thicker than 100 nm. Deposition was also made from a target with pressed (100%) solid lysozyme, but the deposition was difficult to handle and with a much slower rate than that from a water ice matrix. 相似文献

The dependence of the surface morphology on the substrate temperature during film deposition was investigated for polyethylene glycol (PEG) films by matrix-assisted pulsed laser evaporation (MAPLE). The surface structure was studied with a combined technique of optical imaging and AFM measurements. There was a clear difference between the films produced below and above the melting point of PEG. For temperatures above the melting point, the polymer material was distributed non-uniformly over the substrate with growths areas, where cluster-like structures merge into large islands of micrometer size. At these temperatures, the islands in the investigated growth areas cover most of the bottom layer which has a typical height of 50-150 nm. 相似文献

Thin films of the protein, lysozyme, have been deposited by the matrix-assisted pulsed laser evaporation (MAPLE) technique. Frozen targets of 0.3-1.0 wt.% lysozyme dissolved in ultrapure water were irradiated by laser light at 355 nm with a fluence of 2 J/cm2. The surface quality of the thin lysozyme films of different thickness deposited on 7 mm × 7 mm Si-〈1 0 0〉-wafers was investigated with scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Already at comparatively low thickness, ∼20 nm, the substrate is covered by intact lysozyme molecules and fragments. The concentration of lysozyme in the ice matrix apparently does not play any significant role for the morphology of the film. The morphology obtained with MAPLE has been compared with results for direct laser irradiation of a pressed lysozyme sample (i.e. pulsed laser deposition (PLD)). 相似文献

The results of gadolinium (Gd)-doped barium titanate (BaTiO3) thin films prepared by laser ablation on glass and silicon substrates are reported. Rutherford backscattering (RBS) analyses carried out on glass samples indicated the substitution of barium (Ba) by gadolinium (Gd) after annealing, leading to a film with composition Ba0.76TiGd0.01O2.5. There is a reduction in the thickness from 2.21 to 2.02 microns for as-deposited and annealed films. The films on silicon showed a higher degree of crystallinity compared to that of glass substrates due to increased annealing temperature. The average grain size calculated using the X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern from silicon substrates was 30 nm. The film has a tetragonal structure with a “c/a” ratio of 1.03 signifying that the incorporation of Gd in BaTiO3 led to the elongation of the c-axis. The percentage transmittance reduced from 80 to 50% due to annealing and this is probably due to structural changes in the film. Swanepoel envelope method employed on the interference fringes of the transmittance pattern led to the determination of the variation of the refractive index with wavelength. Sellmier single oscillator model was applied to determine the optical constants of the films on glass substrates. Bandgap analyses carried out showed the reduction in bandgap with annealing and also the possibility that Gd incorporation has modified the film chemistry leading to the existence of direct (4.35 eV) and indirect (3.88 eV) allowed transitions in the annealed films. Dielectric property measurement carried out under ambient conditions gave a relaxation time τ of 1.6×10−4 s and conduction by small polaron with the onset of polaron conduction set at about 7 kHz. It is conjectured that these properties, especially the high refractive index and the high bandgaps, can make Gd-doped BaTiO3 a good candidate for optoelectronic applications. 相似文献

Implants consisting of drug cores coated with polymeric films were developed for delivering drugs in a controlled manner. The polymeric films were produced using matrix assisted pulsed laser evaporation (MAPLE) and consist of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA), used individually as well as blended with polyethylene glycol (PEG). Indomethacin (INC) was used as model drug. The implants were tested in vitro (i.e. in conditions similar with those encountered inside the body), for predicting their behavior after implantation at the site of action. To this end, they were immersed in physiological media (i.e. phosphate buffered saline PBS pH 7.4 and blood). At various intervals of PBS immersion (and respectively in blood), the polymeric films coating the drug cores were studied in terms of morphology, chemistry, wettability and blood compatibility. PEG:PLGA film exhibited superior properties as compared to PLGA film, the corresponding implant being thus more suitable for internal use in the human body. In addition, the implant containing PEG:PLGA film provided an efficient and sustained release of the drug. The kinetics of the drug release was consistent with a diffusion mediated mechanism (as revealed by fitting the data with Higuchi's model); the drug was gradually released through the pores formed during PBS immersion. In contrast, the implant containing PLGA film showed poor drug delivery rates and mechanical failure. In this case, fitting the data with Hixson-Crowell model indicated a release mechanism dominated by polymer erosion. 相似文献

Thin films of [Cd{SSi(O-But)3}(S2CNEt2)]2, precursor for semiconducting CdS layers, were deposited on silicon substrates by Matrix-Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation (MAPLE) technique. Structural analysis of the obtained films by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed the viability of the procedure. After the deposition of the coordination complex, the layers are manufactured by appropriate thermal treatment of the system (thin film and substrate), according to the thermal analysis of the compound. Surface morphology of the thin films was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and spectroscopic-ellipsometry (SE) measurements. 相似文献

ZnO thin films on fused quartz substrates were prepared by a glycol-based Pechini method. The structural and optical properties were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical transmittance spectrum, and photoluminescence (PL) spectrum. A red emission around 700 nm was found in PL spectrum, and its peak intensity gained a strong enhancement (140%) while annealing temperature increased from 700 °C to 800 °C. The red emission was ascribed to the possible high defect density in boundary layers of nanocrystalline grains. 相似文献

We have performed the studies of photoinduced second harmonic generation in the ZnO nanorods doped by Thulium with different content (0.1; 0.2;0.5% of Tm). The illumination was performed with the Er:glass laser emitting at 1540 nm wavelength of the 10 ns laser and the output second harmonic generation (SHG) was studied. The AFM data analysis was performed. The role of the rare earth Tm ions on the morphology and the optically stimulated SHG is discussed. The SHG yield was found to be strongly dependent on Thulium content and Root Mean Square roughness of the studied layers. 相似文献

Preparation of transparent and conducting indium doped CdO thin films by spray pyrolysis on glass substrate is reported for various concentration of indium (2-8 wt%) in the spray solution. The electrical, optical and structural properties of indium doped CdO films were investigated using different techniques such as Hall measurement, optical transmission, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. X-ray analysis shows that the undoped CdO films are preferentially orientated along (2 0 0) crystallographic direction. Increase of indium doping concentration increases the films packing density and reorient the crystallites along (1 1 1) plane. A minimum resistivity of 4.843×10−4 Ω cm and carrier concentration of 3.73×1020 cm−3 with high transmittance in the range 300-1100 nm were achieved for 6 wt% indium doping. The band gap value increases with doping concentration and reaches a maximum of 2.72 eV for 6 wt% indium doping from 2.36 eV of that of undoped film. The minimum resistivity achieved in the present study is found to be the lowest among the reported values for In-doped CdO films prepared by spray pyrolysis method. 相似文献

Amorphous thin films (1 − x)(4GeSe2-Ga2Se3)-xKBr (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) were prepared by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The optical parameters were calculated using the Swanepoel method from the optical transmission spectra. The optical band gap () of the studied films increased while the index of refraction decreased when increased the content of KBr. The Tauc slopes were discussed as an indicator of the degree of structural randomness of amorphous semiconductors. The index of refraction decreased and increased after annealing of as-deposited films below the glass transition temperature. The thermal-bleaching and thermal- contraction effects were observed, which are discussed in relation to the reduction in the density of homopolar bonds confirmed by the Raman spectra analysis and the decreased amount of fragments of the as-deposited films, respectively. 相似文献

We report NiO nanowall thin films prepared by a facile hydrothermal synthesis method and their electrochromic application. The as-prepared porous nanowall NiO thin films show a highly porous structure built up by many interconnected nanoflakes with a thickness of about 30 nm. The electrochromic performances of the NiO films are characterized by means of UV–vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements. The effect of the annealing temperature on electrochromic properties is discussed. The NiO nanowall film annealed at 300 °C exhibits much better electrochromic performance than those counterparts annealed at higher temperature. The film annealed at 300 °C exhibits a noticeable electrochromism with reversible color changes from transparent to brown dark and presents a transmittance variation with 77% at 550 nm. The NiO nanowall film also shows good reaction kinetics with fast switching speed, and the coloration and bleaching times are 3 s and 4 s, respectively. The improved electrochromic performances are due to the porous morphological characteristics with fast ion and electron transfer resulting in fast reaction kinetics and high color contrast. 相似文献

In-doped ZnO (ZnO:In) transparent conductive thin films were deposited on glass substrates by RF magnetron sputtering. The effect of substrate temperature on the structural, electrical and optical properties of the ZnO:In thin films was investigated. It was found that higher temperature improves the crystallinity of the films and promotes In substitution easily. ZnO:In thin films with the best crystal quality were fabricated at 300 °C, which exhibit a larger grain size of 29 nm and small tensile strain of 0.9%. The transmittance of all the films was revealed to be over 85% in the visible range independence of the substrate temperatures and the lowest resistivity of ZnO:In thin films is 2.4×10−3 Ω cm. 相似文献

ZnO thin films are deposited on the glass substrates by sol-gel drain coating technique by varying the concentration of the sol. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis were used to investigate the effect of sol concentration on the crystallinity and surface morphology of the films. The results show that with increase in sol concentration, the value of full width at half maximum (FWHM) of (0 0 2) peak decreases while the strain first increases and then decreases. The sol with higher concentration results in the increase in the grain size. The studies on the optical properties show that the band gap value increases from 3.27 to 3.3 eV when the sol concentration changes from 0.03 to 0.1 M. The photoconductivity studies reveal that the film for 0.05 M sol shows the maximum photoresponse for ultraviolet (UV) wavelength (<400 nm) which is co-related with the deep-level defects. The growth and decay of the photocurrent is found to be slowest for the same film. 相似文献

Matrix assisted pulsed laser evaporation (MAPLE) has been applied for deposition of thin polyethylene glycol (PEG) films with infrared laser light at 1064 nm. We have irradiated frozen targets (of 1 wt.% PEG dissolved in water) and measured the deposition rate in situ with a quartz crystal microbalance. The laser fluence needed to produce PEG films turned out to be unexpectedly high with a threshold of 9 J/cm2, and the deposition rate was much lower than that with laser light at 355 nm. Results from matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) analysis demonstrate that the chemistry, molecular weight and polydispersity of the PEG films were identical to the starting material. Studies of the film surface with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) indicate that the Si-substrate is covered by a relatively homogenous PEG film with few bare spots. 相似文献

Amorphous and nanocrystalline germanium thin films were prepared on glass substrates by physical vapor deposition (PVD). The influence of thermal annealing on the characteristics of the Ge thin films has been investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and SEM show amorphous structure of films deposited at room temperature. After thermal annealing, the crystallinity was improved when the annealing temperature increases. The Ge thin films annealed at different temperatures in air were nanocrystalline, having the face-centered cubic structure with preferred orientation along the 〈1 1 1〉 direction. The nanostructural parameters have been evaluated by using a single-order Voigt profile analysis. Moreover, the analysis of the optical transmission and reflection behavior was carried out. The values of direct and indirect band gap energies for amorphous and nanocrystalline phases are 0.86±0.02, 0.65±0.02 and 0.79±0.02, 0.61±0.02 eV, respectively. In addition, the complex optical functions for the wavelength range 600-2200 nm are reported. The refractive index of the nanocrystalline phase drops from 4.80±0.03 to 2.04±0.02, and amorphous phase changes from 5.18±0.03 to 2.42±0.02 for the whole wavelength range. The dielectric functions ε1 and ε2 of the deposited films were recorded as a function of wavelength within the range from 600 to 2200 nm. 相似文献

Transparent and well defined crystals of GSPN series have been grown with alpha-glycine in simultaneous presence of two nitrates (NaNO3 and KNO3). Transparent and well defined crystals (22 mm × 13 mm × 5 mm) have been obtained in 3-4 weeks time by slow cooling. Addition of a strong acid (0.5% HCl) during growth is seen to enhance solubility, SHG efficiency by 2.78 times, Meyer's hardness index by 1.7 times and M.P by 42 °C of that of GSPN crystals. The SHG efficiency of acid added-GSPN has been found to be more than that of KDP crystal. GSPN is found to crystallize in orthorhombic symmetry and the presence of chemical components/groups has been identified by CHNS, EDAX and NMR analysis. Comparative FTIR and Laser Raman analysis shows the presence of active peaks indicating the molecule with a lack of center of symmetry. The UV spectrum shows existence of wide transparency window suitable for optoelectronic applications with band gap energy of about 5.72 eV. The crystals exhibit linear I-V characteristic followed by switching at 41 V/cm. The dielectric loss was seen to decrease exponentially with applied frequency from 100 Hz to 1 MHz. 相似文献

TiO2 thin films were deposited on the glass substrates by dc reactive magnetron sputtering technique at different sputtering pressures (2 × 10−3 to 2 × 10−2 mbar). The films prepared at low pressures have an anatase phase, and the films prepared at high pressures have an amorphous phase. The optical properties were studied by measuring the transmittance and the ellipsometric spectra. The optical constants of the films in the visible range were obtained by fitting the transmittance combined with the ellipsometry measurements using the classical model with one oscillator. The refractive index of the films decreases from 2.5 until 2.1 as the sputtering pressure increases from 2 × 10−3 to 2 × 10−2 mbar. The films prepared at the pressure higher than 6 × 10−3 mbar show a volume inhomogeneity. This volume inhomogeneity has been calculated by fitting the transmittance and the ellipsometric spectra. The volume inhomogeneity of the film prepared at the highest sputtering pressure is about 10%. Although the films prepared at high pressures show a large volume inhomogeneity, they have low extinction coefficients. It is suggested that the anatase phase results in more light scattering than amorphous phase does, and then a high extinction coefficient. 相似文献
