We study a general model for non-Gaussian 1/f noise based on an infinite range quantum Ising spin system in the paramagnetic state, or, equivalently, interacting two-level classical fluctuators. We identify a dilatation interaction term in the dynamics which survives the thermodynamic limit and circumvents the central limit theorem to produce non-Gaussian noise even when the equilibrium distribution is that of noninteracting spins. The resulting second spectrum ("noise of the noise") itself has a universal 1/f form which we analyze within a dynamical mean-field approximation.  相似文献

We consider relativistic constrained systems interacting with external fields. We provide physical arguments to support the idea that the quantum constraint algebra should be the same as in the free quantum case. For systems with ordering ambiguities this principle is essential to obtain a unique quantization. This is shown explicitly in the case of a relativistic spinning particle, where our assumption about the constraint algebra plus invariance under general coordinate transformations leads to a unique S-matrix.  相似文献

Quantum relaxation is studied in coupled quantum baker's maps. The classical systems are exactly solvable Kolmogorov systems, for which the exponential decay to equilibrium is known. They model the fundamental processes of transport in classically chaotic phase space. The quantum systems, in the absence of global symmetry, show a marked saturation in the level of transport, as the suppression of diffusion in the quantum kicked rotor, and eigenfunction localization in the position basis. In the presence of a global symmetry we study another model that has classically an identical decay to equilibrium, but-quantally shows resonant transport, no saturation, and large fluctuations around equilibrium. We generalize the quantization to finite multibaker maps. As a byproduct we introduce some simple models of quantal tunneling between classically chaotic regions of phase space.  相似文献

We present a quantum calculation based on scattering theory of the frequency-dependent noise of current in an interacting chaotic cavity. We include interactions of the electron system via long range Coulomb forces between the conductor and a gate with capacitance C. We obtain explicit results exhibiting the two time scales of the problem, the cavity's dwell time tau(D) and the RC time tau(C) of the cavity in relation to the gate. The noise shows peculiarities at frequencies of the order and exceeding the inverse charge relaxation time tau(-1) = tau(D)(-1) + tau(C)(-1).  相似文献

We study the geometric phase of an open two-level quantum system under the influence of a squeezed, thermal environment for both non-dissipative as well as dissipative system-environment interactions. In the non-dissipative case, squeezing is found to have a similar influence as temperature, of suppressing geometric phase, while in the dissipative case, squeezing tends to counteract the suppressive influence of temperature in certain regimes. Thus, an interesting feature that emerges from our work is the contrast in the interplay between squeezing and thermal effects in non-dissipative and dissipative interactions. This can be useful for the practical implementation of geometric quantum information processing. By interpreting the open quantum effects as noisy channels, we make the connection between geometric phase and quantum noise processes familiar from quantum information theory.  相似文献

We investigate the shot noise for phase-coherent quantum transport in the chaotic-to-regular crossover regime. Employing the modular recursive Green's function method for both ballistic and disordered two-dimensional cavities, we find the Fano factor and the transmission eigenvalue distribution for regular systems to be surprisingly similar to those for chaotic systems. We argue that, in the case of regular dynamics in the cavity, diffraction at the lead openings is the dominant source of shot noise. We also explore the onset of the crossover from quantum-to-classical transport and develop a quasiclassical transport model for shot noise suppression which agrees with the numerical quantum data.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate optomechanical force sensing via precooling and quantum noise cancellation in two coupled cavity optomechanical systems. We show that force sensing based on the reduction of noise can be used to dramatically enhance the force sensing and that the precooling process can eifectively improve the quantum noise cancellation.Specifically,we examine the effect of optomechanical cooling and noise reduction on the spectral density of the noise of the force measurement;these processes can significantly enhance the performance of optomechanical force sensing, and setting up the system in the resolved sideband regime can lead to an optimization of the cooling processes in a hybrid system.Such a scheme serves as a promising platform for quantum back-action-evading measurements of the motion and a framework for an optomechanical force sensor.  相似文献

This article reviews recent progresses in ultracold quantum gases, and it includes three subjects which are the Fermi gases across a Feshbach resonance, quantum gases in the optical lattices and the fast rotating quantum gases. In this article, we discuss many basic physics pictures and concepts in quantum gases, for examples, the resonant interaction, universality and condensation in the lowest Landau level; we introduce fundamental theoretical tools for studying these systems, such as mean-field theory for BEC-BCS crossover and for the boson Hubbard model; also, we emphasize the important unsolved problems in the forefront of this field, for instance, the temperature effect in optical lattices.   相似文献

We provide a detailed analysis of the dynamics of entanglement and quantum correlations for one-parameter qubit-qutrit states under independent or common classical noises influence. Namely the static noise, the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (OU) noise and the random telegraph noise. Independently of the intrinsic features of the noises, entanglement measured by negativity and quantum correlations measured by measured-induced disturbance (MID) vanish after a finite time under the effects of independent noise environments. In a common environment setup, we show the existence of specific and very important features of perfect insulation of the systems quantum properties from noise effects, for suitable range of the entanglement parameter. We refer these phenomena to as frozen entanglement and frozen quantum correlations. The dichotomy between entanglement (separability) and quantum correlations is strengthened by our results, with the robustness of MID over entanglement and existence of separable qubit-qutrit states with non-zero quantum correlations.  相似文献

The quantum locking technique, which uses additional short low-loss sub-cavities, is effective in reducing quantum noise in space gravitational wave antenna DECIGO. However, the quantum noise of the main interferometer depends on the control systems in the sub-cavities. Here we demonstrate a new method to optimize the quantum noise independently of the feedback gain by completing the square of multiple interferometer outputs in the quantum locking system. We successfully demonstrate in simulations that this method is effective in optimizing the homodyne angle to the best quantum-noise-limited sensitivity.  相似文献

We study the conductance through finite Aharonov-Bohm rings of interacting electrons weakly coupled to non-interacting leads at two arbitrary sites. This model can describe an array of quantum dots with a large charging energy compared to the interdot overlap. As a consequence of the spin-charge separation, which occurs in these highly correlated systems, the transmittance is shown to present pronounced dips for particular values of the magnetic flux piercing the ring. We analyze this effect by numerical and analytical means and show that the zero-temperature equilibrium conductance in fact presents these striking features which could be observed experimentally.  相似文献

Gaussian quantum discord is a measure of quantum correlations in Gaussian systems. Using Gaussian discord, we quantify the quantum correlations of a bipartite entangled state and a separable two-mode mixture of coherent states. We experimentally analyze the effect of noise addition and dissipation on Gaussian discord and show that the former noise degrades the discord, while the latter noise for some states leads to an increase of the discord. In particular, we experimentally demonstrate the near death of discord by noisy evolution and its revival through dissipation.  相似文献

We report thermopower measurements of interacting GaAs bilayer hole systems. When the carrier densities in the two layers are equal, these systems exhibit a reentrant insulating phase near the quantum Hall state at total filling factor nu=1. Our data show that, as the temperature is decreased, the thermopower diverges in the insulating phase. This behavior indicates the opening of an energy gap at low temperature, consistent with the formation of a pinned Wigner solid. We extract an energy gap and a Wigner solid melting phase diagram.  相似文献

We have studied two complementary decoherence measures, purity and fidelity, for a generic diffusive noise in two different chaotic systems (the baker map and the cat map). For both quantities, we have found classical structures in quantum mechanics-the scar functions-that are specially stable when subjected to environmental perturbations. We show that these quantum states constructed on classical invariants are the most robust significant quantum distributions in generic dissipative maps.  相似文献

A dc current can be pumped through an interacting system by periodically varying two independent parameters such as the magnetic field and a gate potential. We present a general expression for the adiabatic pumping current in interacting systems, written in terms of instantaneous properties of the system at equilibrium, and find the limits of its applicability. This expression generalizes the scattering approach for noninteracting particles. We apply our formula for a quantum critical system that exhibits the two-channel Kondo effect, where single particle excitations are not well defined. We find that if the quantum critical point is contained in the pumping trajectory, the pumped spin between the channels approaches h, and if it is not contained in the trajectory, the spin approaches zero when the temperature T --> 0. We discuss the non-Fermi liquid features of this system at finite T.  相似文献

We study interaction effects on the orbital magnetism of diffusive mesoscopic quantum systems. By combining many-body perturbation theory with semiclassical techniques, we show that the interaction contribution to the ensemble-averaged quantum thermodynamic potential can be reduced to an essentially classical operator. We compute the magnetic response of disordered rings and dots for diffusive classical dynamics. Our semiclassical approach reproduces the results of previous diagrammatic quantum calculations.  相似文献

We show that noise enhances the trapping of trajectories in scattering systems. In fully chaotic systems, the decay rate can decrease with increasing noise due to a generic mismatch between the noiseless escape rate and the value predicted by the Liouville measure of the exit set. In Hamiltonian systems with mixed phase space we show that noise leads to a slower algebraic decay due to trajectories performing a random walk inside Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser islands. We argue that these noise-enhanced trapping mechanisms exist in most scattering systems and are likely to be dominant for small noise intensities, which is confirmed through a detailed investigation in the Hénon map. Our results can be tested in fluid experiments, affect the fractal Weyl's law of quantum systems, and modify the estimations of chemical reaction rates based on phase-space transition state theory.  相似文献

We analyze the stability of superfluid currents in a system of strongly interacting ultracold atoms in an optical lattice. We show that such a system undergoes a dynamic, irreversible phase transition at a critical phase gradient that depends on the interaction strength between atoms. At commensurate filling, the phase boundary continuously interpolates between the classical modulation instability of a weakly interacting condensate and the equilibrium quantum phase transition into a Mott insulator state at which the critical current vanishes. We argue that quantum fluctuations smear the transition boundary in low dimensional systems. Finally we discuss the implications to realistic experiments.  相似文献

The entanglement dynamics of two-qubit systems in different quantum noises are investigated by means of the operator-sum representation method. We find that, except for the amplitude damping and phase damping quantum noise, the sudden death of entanglement is always observed in different two-qubit systems with generalized amplitude damping and depolarizing quantum noise.  相似文献

We present a new model for the study of spin-orbit coupling in interacting quasi-one-dimensional systems and solve it exactly to find the spectral properties of such systems. We show that the combination of spin-orbit coupling and electron-electron interactions results in the replacement of separate spin and charge excitations with two new kinds of bosonic mixed-spin-charge excitation, and a characteristic modification of the spectral function and single-particle density of states. Our results show how manipulation of the spin-orbit coupling, with external electric fields, can be used for the experimental determination of microscopic interaction parameters in quantum wires.  相似文献
