For the first time, the reaction gammad-->DeltanK+ has been analyzed in order to search for the exotic pentaquark baryon Theta+(1540). The data were taken at Jefferson Laboratory, using the Hall-B tagged-photon beam of energy between 0.8 and 3.6 GeV and the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS). No statistically significant structures were observed in the nK+ invariant-mass distribution. The upper limit on the gammad-->DeltaTheta+ integrated cross section has been calculated and found to be between 5 and 25 nb, depending on the production model assumed. The upper limit on the differential cross section is also reported.  相似文献

Long-standing anomalies in K(+)-nucleus integral cross sections could be resolved by extending the impulse-approximation trho optical-potential framework to incorporate K(+) absorption on pairs of nucleons. Substantially improved fits to the data at p(lab) approximately 500-700 MeV/c are obtained. An upper bound on the absorption cross section per nucleon is derived, sigmaabs((K(+))/A approximately 3.5 mb. We conjecture that the underlying microscopic absorption process is K(+) nN--> Theta+ N, where Theta(+) (1540) is the newly discovered exotic Y = 2, I = 0, Z = 1 pentaquark baryon, and estimate that sigma(K(+) d--> Theta(+) p) is a fraction of millibarn. Comments are made on Theta(+) production reactions on nuclei.  相似文献

The reaction gammap --> pK+K- was studied at Jefferson Lab with photon energies from 1.8 to 3.8 GeV using a tagged photon beam. The goal was to search for a Theta++ pentaquark, a narrow, doubly charged baryon state having strangeness S=+1 and isospin I=1, in the pK+ invariant mass spectrum. No statistically significant evidence of a Theta++ was found. Upper limits on the total and differential cross section for the reaction gammap --> K-Theta++ were obtained in the mass range from 1.5 to 2.0 GeV/c2, with an upper limit for a narrow resonance with a mass M(Theta++) = 1.54 GeV/c2 of about 0.15 nb, 95% C.L.. This result places a stringent upper limit on the Theta++ width Gamma(Theta++) <0.1 MeV/c2.  相似文献

A search for the Theta+ in the reaction gammad --> pK-K+n was completed using the CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab. A study of the same reaction, published earlier, reported the observation of a narrow Theta+ resonance. The present experiment, with more than 30 times the integrated luminosity of our earlier measurement, does not show any evidence for a narrow pentaquark resonance. The angle-integrated upper limit on Theta+ production in the mass range of 1.52-1.56 GeV/c2 for the gammad --> pK-Theta+ reaction is 0.3 nb (95% C.L.). This upper limit depends on assumptions made for the mass and angular distribution of Theta+ production. Using Lambda(1520) production as an empirical measure of rescattering in the deuteron, the cross section upper limit for the elementary gamman --> K-Theta+ reaction is estimated to be a factor of 10 higher, i.e., approximately 3 nb (95% C.L.).  相似文献

We have searched for Theta+(1540) and Xi(--)(1862) pentaquark candidates in proton-induced reactions on C, Ti, and W targets at midrapidity and square root of s = 41.6 GeV. In 2 x 10(8) inelastic events we find no evidence for narrow (sigma approximately 5 MeV) signals in the Theta+ --> pK0(S) and Xi(--) --> Xi- pi- channels; our 95% C.L. upper limits (UL) for the inclusive production cross section times branching fraction B dsigma/dy/(y approximately 0) are (4-16) mub/N for a Theta+ mass between 1521 and 1555 MeV, and 2.5 mub/N for the Xi(--). The UL of the yield ratio of Theta+/Lambda(1520) < (3-12)% is significantly lower than model predictions. Our UL of B Xi(--)/Xi(1530)0 < 4% is at variance with the results that have provided the first evidence for the Xi(--).  相似文献

The K^ scattering cross section with the in-medium virtual pion is evaluated in the lowest-order chiral perturbation theory with the density-dependent pion decay constant and mass.The contribution of nuclear pions to the total K^ -nucleus cross section is found to be about 5% and 12% when the excess pion numbers per nucleon nπ=0.057 and 0.13 are used.The inclusion of the off-mass-shell behavior of the K^ π amplitude produced a significant improvement in the K^ -nucleus cross section.  相似文献

We search for strange-pentaquark states that have been previously reported by other experiments--the Theta (1540)(+), Xi(5)(1860)(--), and Xi(5)(1860)(0)--in 123 fb(-1) of data recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) storage ring. We find no evidence for these states and set 95% confidence level upper limits on the number of Theta(1540)(+) and Xi(5)(1860)(--) pentaquarks produced per e(+)e(-) annihilation into qq and Gamma(4S) decay. For qq events the Theta(1540)(+) [Xi(5)(1860)(--)] limit is about 8 [4] times lower than the rates measured for ordinary baryons of similar mass.  相似文献

We have measured the cross section at 180° for K+p and K+n elastic scattering in the momentum range 1.0 to 1.5 GeV/c. The K+n cross section was measured on deuterium and the K+p on hydrogen and deuterium. We were thus able to measure directly the difference between free nucleon (proton) scattering and bound nucleon (proton) scattering at large angles. This difference was found to be small and within our experimental accuracy the K+p(n) cross section should be equal to the K+p (free) cross section at 180°. We found no evidence for an s-channel resonance Z1 in either the K+p or K+n system. A comparison of our data and those of other groups with theoretical predictions is given.  相似文献

Differential cross sections and photon-beam asymmetries have been measured for the gamma n --> K+ Sigma- and gamma p --> K+Sigma0 reactions separately using liquid deuterium and hydrogen targets with incident linearly polarized photon beams of E gamma = 1.5-2.4 GeV at 0.6 < cos ThetacmK< 1. The cross section ratio of sigma K+ Sigma-/sigma K+ Sigma0, expected to be 2 on the basis of the isospin 1/2 exchange, is found to be close to 1. For the K+ Sigma- reaction, large positive asymmetries are observed, indicating the dominance of K* exchange. The large difference between the asymmetries for the K+ Sigma- and K+ Sigma0 reactions cannot be explained by simple theoretical considerations based on Regge model calculations.  相似文献

We consider the effect of exotic S = + 1 resonances Θ+ and Θ++ on K + p elastic scattering data (total cross section) and the process K L 0 pK S 0 p. The reaction gamma p-->pi(+)K(-)K(+)n was studied at Jefferson Laboratory using a tagged photon beam with an energy range of 3-5.47 GeV. A narrow baryon state with strangeness S=+1 and mass M=1555+/-10 MeV/c(2) was observed in the nK(+) invariant mass spectrum. The peak's width is consistent with the CLAS resolution (FWHM=26 MeV/c(2)), and its statistical significance is (7.8+/-1.0)sigma. A baryon with positive strangeness has exotic structure and cannot be described in the framework of the naive constituent quark model. The mass of the observed state is consistent with the mass predicted by the chiral soliton model for the Theta(+) baryon. In addition, the pK(+) invariant mass distribution was analyzed in the reaction gamma p-->K(-)K(+)p with high statistics in search of doubly charged exotic baryon states. No resonance structures were found in this spectrum.  相似文献

We present a measurement of the direct CP violating asymmetry in the decay B0-->K+pi(-) using a data sample of 227x10(6) Upsilon(4S)-->BB decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider at SLAC. We observe a total signal yield of nK-(pi(+))+nK+(pi(-))=1606+/-51 decays and measure the asymmetry (nK-(pi(+))-nK+(pi(-)))/(nK-(pi(+))+nK+(pi(-)))=-0.133+/-0.030(stat)+/-0.009(syst). The probability of observing such an asymmetry in the absence of direct CP violation is 1.3x10(-5), corresponding to 4.2 standard deviations.  相似文献

Conclusive evidence is presented for the existence of a reactive resonance in the F+HD reaction. In a molecular beam experiment, the resonance appears in the integral cross section as a distinct steplike feature, while in the differential cross section it is manifested as sharply varying forward-backward peaks in the product distribution. A detailed analysis of the quantum dynamics establishes that a reactive resonance localized in the transition-state region is responsible for these remarkable observations. At collision energies below 1 kcal/mol, the reaction proceeds almost exclusively through resonant tunneling with very little contribution from the more conventional direct mechanism.  相似文献

Approximate angular distribution measurements of reactively scattered K atoms from a potassium dimer K2 beam by cross beam molecules Br2, IBr, BrCN, SnCl4 are reported. Forward peaking in the centre of mass differential cross section for K2+Br2, IBr, BrCN unambiguously confirms that the reaction path at large impact parameters yields K + KX + Y products. Differential cross sections at wide angles for K compared with KX products, suggest that the reaction path yielding KX + KY products becomes important at small impact parameters. Comparison of the reactive K atom scattering with the KX scattering lends further support to a schematic mechanism of the reaction dynamics suggested previously. The K2 + SnCl4 reaction does not yield reactively scattered K atoms.  相似文献

The ratios of total cross section of K+-nucleus to K+-deuterium at 400 MeV/c≤pk≤800 MeV/c for 6Li, 12C, 28Si, 40Ca and the differential cross section of π+-12C scattering at pπ= 800 MeV/c are calculated by taking into account the unconventional medium effect.An enhancement of both the K+-and π+-nucleus scattering cross sections is obtained.  相似文献

激光双光子激发K2至1Λg高位态,利用分子荧光光谱方法,研究了1Λg-3Λg间的碰撞转移截面。在纯K实验中,池温控制在553至603 K之间,K原子密度由光学吸收法测量得到。探测1Λg-11Σu+的直接时间分辨荧光的光强,它是一条纯指数衰减曲线,由此得到1Λg+态的有效寿命,有效寿命的倒数与K密度成线性关系,从直线的斜率得到1Λg态的猝灭截面为(2.5±0.3)×10-14cm2,从截距得到辐射寿命为(20±2)ns。由3Λg→13Σu+转移荧光的时间分辨谱,用类似的方法得到3Λg的猝灭截面为(2.5±0.6)×10-14cm2,辐射寿命为(16.0±3.2)ns。由1Λg→11Σu+与3Λg→13Σu+的时间积分强度比得到K2(1Λg)+K→K2(3Λg)+K的转移截面为(1.1±0.3)×10-14cm2。在K2-H2碰撞实验中,池温保持在553 K,K密度为5×1015cm-3,H2气压在40~400 Pa之间,其中K2-K碰撞效应是不能略去的,但可以用纯K结果扣除,得到K2(1Λg)+H2→K2(3Λg)+H2的碰撞转移截面为(2.7±1.1)×10-15cm2。K2(3Λg)+H2→K2(3Λg)以外态+H2的猝灭截面为(6.8±2.7)×10-15cm2。  相似文献

A set of phosphate glasses with different amounts of Al2O3, Na2O, La2O3 and AlF3 contents were prepared to search for a phosphate glass which is suitable for ion-exchange process. Based on chemical durability test results and spectroscopic properties, a glass with excellent chemical durability and good spectroscopic properties is developed for ion-exchange process. The emission cross section of Er3+ in this glass is calculated to be 0.72×10~20 cm2 by McCumber theory. The planar waveguide with three modes at 632.8 nm and one mode at 1540 nm can be realized by 335℃ 3 hours ion-exchange in 5%AgNO3+95%KNO3 molten salt.  相似文献

在pH7.0的Na2HPO4-NaH2PO4缓冲溶液中,纳米金与适配体(aptamer)结合形成较稳定的aptamer-Au复合物,且不被NaCl聚集。在85℃水浴中,K+与aptamer作用后折叠形成稳定的G-四分体结构复合物且释放出纳米金。在高浓度盐作用下,纳米金聚集成较大粒径的纳米金颗粒,导致体系563nm处的共振散射强度增大,其平均粒径为120nm。文章研究了K+ -随机单链DNA1(ssDNA1)-纳米金、K+ -ssD-NA2-纳米金和K+ -aptamer-纳米金体系的共振散射光谱特性,并用圆二色光谱技术证明了核酸适配体结构的变化。考察了pH、NaCl浓度、aptamer浓度、纳米金用量以及Cu2+、Mg2+、Pb2+、Ca2+、Al3+、Zn2+Fe3+等常见重金属离子等对测定K+的影响,结果显示这些离子不干扰测定,该法具有较好的选择性。在选定条件下,K+浓度在0.67~3350μmol·L-1范围与共振散射峰值ΔI呈良好的线性关系,回归方程、相关系数、检出限分别为ΔI=0.167c-0.7,0.9932,0.3μmol·L-1 K+。该法用于血清样品分析,结果与离子选择电极法一致。  相似文献

The reactions KLop→KSop, π+Λ, π+Σo have been measured for center-of-mass energies from 1540 to 1610 MeV. Channel cross sections and coefficients of the Legendre polynomial expansion of the differential cross sections and hyperon polarizations are presented. We see no evidence in the πΛ channel for the suggested 32? resonance at 1580 MeV. The cross section for the KSop channel shows an energy dependence which is not predicted by the existing phase shift solutions based on charged kaon data.  相似文献

We report the first measurements of the doubly charmed baryonic B decays B --> Lambda c+ Lambda c- K. The B+ --> Lambda c+ Lambda c- K+ decay is observed with a branching fraction of (6.5(-0.9)(+1.0)+/-1.1+/-3.4)x10(-4) and a statistical significance of 15.4sigma. The B0 --> Lambda c+ Lambda c- K0 decay is observed with a branching fraction of (7.9(-2.3)(+2.9)+/-1.2+/-4.1)x10(-4) and a statistical significance of 6.6sigma. The branching fraction errors are statistical, systematic, and the error resulting from the uncertainty of the Lambda c+ --> pK- pi+ decay branching fraction. The analysis is based on 357 fb(-1) of data accumulated at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider.  相似文献
