We consider quantum error correction of quantum noise that is created by a local interaction of qubits with a common bosonic bath. The possible exchange of bath bosons between qubits gives rise to spatial and temporal correlations in the noise. We find that these kinds of noise correlations have a strong negative impact on quantum error correction.  相似文献

Hyper-parallel quantum information processing is a promising and beneficial research field. Herein, a method to implement a hyper-parallel controlled-phase-flip (hyper-CPF) gate for frequency-, spatial-, and time-bin-encoded qubits by coupling flying photons to trapped nitrogen vacancy (NV) defect centers is presented. The scheme, which differs from their conventional parallel counterparts, is specifically advantageous in decreasing against the dissipate noise, increasing the quantum channel capacity, and reducing the quantum resource overhead. The gate qubits with frequency, spatial, and time-bin degrees of freedom (DOF) are immune to quantum decoherence in optical fibers, whereas the polarization photons are easily disturbed by the ambient noise.  相似文献

We study the quantum discord dynamics of two noninteracting qubits that are, respectively, subject to classical noise. The results show that the dynamics of quantum discord are dependent on both the coupling between the qubits and classical noise, and the average switching rate of the classical noise. In the weak-coupling Markovian region, quantum discord exhibits exponent decay without revival, and can be well protected by increasing the average classical noise switching rate. While in the strong-coupling non-Markovian region, quantum discord reveals slowly decayed oscillations with quick revival by decreasing the average switching rate of the classical noise. Thus, our results provide a new method of protecting quantum discord in a two-qubit system by controlling the coupling between the qubits and classical noise, and the average switching rate of the classical noise.  相似文献

We demonstrate a two-qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm with single photons from a single InP quantum dot. The qubits are implemented via the spatial mode and the polarization of a single photon. Our photon source is operated both under continuous and pulsed excitation, the latter allowing deterministic quantum logic by generating photons on demand with a strong suppression of two-photon events. The computation reached a success probability of up to 79%. We also exploit the concept of decoherence-free subspaces that helps to make our experimental setup robust against sources of phase noise.  相似文献

We address the problem of entanglement protection against surrounding noise by a procedure suitably exploiting spatial indistinguishability of identical subsystems. To this purpose, we take two initially separated and entangled identical qubits interacting with two independent noisy environments. Three typical models of environments are considered: amplitude damping channel, phase damping channel and depolarizing channel. After the interaction, we deform the wave functions of the two qubits to make them spatially overlap before performing spatially localized operations and classical communication (sLOCC) and eventually computing the entanglement of the resulting state. This way, we show that spatial indistinguishability of identical qubits can be utilized within the sLOCC operational framework to partially recover the quantum correlations spoiled by the environment. A general behavior emerges: the higher the spatial indistinguishability achieved via deformation, the larger the amount of recovered entanglement.  相似文献

We present a scheme for implementing robust quantum gates in decoherence-free subspaces (DFSs) with double-dot spin qubits. Through the resonator-assisted interaction, the controllable interqubit couplings can be achieved only by adjusting the qubit transition frequencies. We construct a set of logic gates on the DFS-encoded qubits to eliminate the collective noise effects, and thus the gate fidelities can be enhanced remarkably. This proposal may offer a potential approach to realize the robust quantum computing with spin qubits.  相似文献

We use the quantum jump approach to study the entanglement dynamics of a quantum register, which is composed of two or three dipole-dipole coupled two-level atoms, interacting with a common environment. Our investigation of entanglement dynamics reflects that the environment has dual actions on the entanglement of the qubits in the model. While the environment destroys the entanglement induced by the coherent dipole-dipole interactions, it can produce stable entanglement between the qubits prepared initially in a separable state. The analysis shows that it is the entangled decoherence-free states contained as components in the initial state that contribute to the stable entanglement. Our study indicates how the environmental noise produces the entanglement and exposes the interplay of environmental noise and coherent interactions of qubits on the entanglement.  相似文献

We study numerically the effects of static imperfections and residual couplings between qubits for the quantum phase estimation algorithm with two qubits. We show that the success probability of the algorithm is affected significantly more by static imperfections than by random noise errors in quantum gates. An improvement of the algorithm accuracy can be reached by application of the Pauli-random-error-correction method (PAREC).  相似文献

Jozsa et al. [Proc. R. Soc. A 466, 809 2009)] have shown that a match gate circuit running on n qubits can be compressed to a universal quantum computation on log(n)+3 qubits. Here, we show how this compression can be employed to simulate the Ising interaction of a 1D chain consisting of n qubits using a universal quantum computer running on log(n) qubits. We demonstrate how the adiabatic evolution can be realized on this exponentially smaller system and how the magnetization, which displays a quantum phase transition, can be measured. This shows that the quantum phase transition of very large systems can be observed experimentally with current technology.  相似文献

A protocol based on quantum error correction based characterization of quantum dynamics (QECCD) is developed for quantum process tomography on a two-qubit system interacting dissipatively with a vacuum bath. The method uses a 5-qubit quantum error correcting code that corrects arbitrary errors on the first two qubits, and also saturates the quantum Hamming bound. The dissipative interaction with a vacuum bath allows for both correlated and independent noise on the two-qubit system. We study the dependence of the degree of the correlation of the noise on evolution time and inter-qubit separation.  相似文献

The system of qubits interacting with the perturbation field of an arbitrary envelope in the Furry representation based on the Magnus expansion in quantum electrodynamics is investigated. The general expressions for quantum transitions for probabilities between the states of a qubit are derived. The generalizations of this approach to the system of two interacting qubits are presented.  相似文献

We investigate theoretically and experimentally how quantum state-detection efficiency is improved by the use of quantum information processing (QIP). Experimentally, we encode the state of one 9Be(+) ion qubit with one additional ancilla qubit. By measuring both qubits, we reduce the state-detection error in the presence of noise. The deviation from the theoretically allowed reduction is due to infidelities of the QIP operations. Applying this general scheme to more ancilla qubits suggests that error in the individual qubit measurements need not be a limit to scalable quantum computation.  相似文献

By using a six-qubit cluster state as the quantum channel, we investigat the joint remote state preparation of an arbitrary equatorial two-qubit state. We analytically obtain the fidelities of the joint remote state preparation process in noisy environments, such as the amplitude-damping noise and phase-damping noise. In our scheme, the two different noise including amplitude-damping noise and the phase-damping noise only affect the travel qubits of the quantum channel, and then we show that the fidelities in these two noisy cases only depend on the decoherence noisy rate.  相似文献

Superconducting quantum circuits based on Josephson junctions have made rapid progress in demonstrating quantum behavior and scalability. However, the future prospects ultimately depend upon the intrinsic coherence of Josephson junctions, and whether superconducting qubits can be adequately isolated from their environment. We introduce a new architecture for superconducting quantum circuits employing a three-dimensional resonator that suppresses qubit decoherence while maintaining sufficient coupling to the control signal. With the new architecture, we demonstrate that Josephson junction qubits are highly coherent, with T2 ~ 10 to 20 μs without the use of spin echo, and highly stable, showing no evidence for 1/f critical current noise. These results suggest that the overall quality of Josephson junctions in these qubits will allow error rates of a few 10(-4), approaching the error correction threshold.  相似文献

To verify the hypothesis about the common origin of the low-frequency 1/f noise and the quantum f noise recently measured in the Josephson charge qubits, we study the temperature dependence of the 1/f noise and decay of coherent oscillations. The T2 dependence of the 1/f noise is experimentally demonstrated, which supports the hypothesis. We also show that dephasing in the Josephson charge qubits off the electrostatic energy degeneracy point is consistently explained by the same low-frequency 1/f noise that is observed in the transport measurements.  相似文献

We report the creation of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states with up to 14 qubits. By investigating the coherence of up to 8 ions over time, we observe a decay proportional to the square of the number of qubits. The observed decay agrees with a theoretical model which assumes a system affected by correlated, Gaussian phase noise. This model holds for the majority of current experimental systems developed towards quantum computation and quantum metrology.  相似文献

We investigate the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty for an entangled two-qubit system in a local quantum noise channel with PT-symmetric operation performing on one of the two particles. Our results show that the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty in the qubits system can be reduced effectively by the local PT-symmetric operation. Physical explanations for the behavior of the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty are given based on the property of entanglement of the qubits system and the non-locality induced by the re-normalization procedure for the non-Hermitian PT-symmetric operation.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for encoding logical qubits in a subspace protected against collective rotations around the propagation axis using the polarization and transverse spatial degrees of freedom of single photons. This encoding allows for quantum key distribution without the need of a shared reference frame. We present methods to generate entangled states of two logical qubits using present day down-conversion sources and linear optics, and show that the application of these entangled logical states to quantum information schemes allows for alignment-free tests of Bell's inequalities, quantum dense coding, and quantum teleportation.  相似文献

This paper proposes a simple scheme for realizing one-qubit and two-qubit quantum gates as well as multiqubit entanglement based on dc-SQUID charge qubits through the control of their coupling to a 1D transmission line resonator (TLR). The TLR behaves effectively as a quantum data-bus mode of a harmonic oscillator, which has several practical advantages including strong coupling strength, reproducibility, immunity to 1/f noise, and suppressed spontaneous emission. In this protocol, the data-bus does not need to stay adiabatically in its ground state, which results in not only fast quantum operation, but also high-fidelity quantum information processing. Also, it elaborates the transfer process with the 1D transmission line.  相似文献

We produce and holographically measure entangled qudits encoded in transverse spatial modes of single photons. With the novel use of a quantum state tomography method that only requires two-state superpositions, we achieve the most complete characterization of entangled qutrits to date. Ideally, entangled qutrits provide better security than qubits in quantum bit commitment: we model the sensitivity of this to mixture and show experimentally and theoretically that qutrits with even a small amount of decoherence cannot offer increased security over qubits.  相似文献
