The present study focuses on the formation and reactivity of hydroperoxo–iron(III) porphyrin complexes formed in the [FeIII(tpfpp)X]/H2O2/HOO? system (TPFPP=5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)‐21H,23H‐porphyrin; X=Cl? or CF3SO3?) in acetonitrile under basic conditions at ?15 °C. Depending on the selected reaction conditions and the active form of the catalyst, the formation of high‐spin [FeIII(tpfpp)(OOH)] and low‐spin [FeIII(tpfpp)(OH)(OOH)] could be observed with the application of a low‐temperature rapid‐scan UV/Vis spectroscopic technique. Axial ligation and the spin state of the iron(III) center control the mode of O? O bond cleavage in the corresponding hydroperoxo porphyrin species. A mechanistic changeover from homo‐ to heterolytic O? O bond cleavage is observed for high‐ [FeIII(tpfpp)(OOH)] and low‐spin [FeIII(tpfpp)(OH)(OOH)] complexes, respectively. In contrast to other iron(III) hydroperoxo complexes with electron‐rich porphyrin ligands, electron‐deficient [FeIII(tpfpp)(OH)(OOH)] was stable under relatively mild conditions and could therefore be investigated directly in the oxygenation reactions of selected organic substrates. The very low reactivity of [FeIII(tpfpp)(OH)(OOH)] towards organic substrates implied that the ferric hydroperoxo intermediate must be a very sluggish oxidant compared with the iron(IV)–oxo porphyrin π‐cation radical intermediate in the catalytic oxygenation reactions of cytochrome P450.  相似文献

A first systematic study upon the preparation and exploration of a series of iron 10‐thiacorroles with simple halogenido (F, Cl, Br, I), pseudo‐halogenido (N3, I3) and solvent‐derived axial ligands (DMSO, pyridine) is reported. The compounds were prepared from the free‐base octaethyl‐10‐thiacorrole by iron insertion and subsequent ligand‐exchange reactions. The small N4 cavity of the ring‐contracted porphyrinoid results in an intermediate spin (i.s., S=3/2) state as the ground state for the iron(III) ion. In most of the investigated cases, the i.s. state is found unperturbed and independent of temperature, as determined by a combination of X‐ray crystallography and magnetometry with 1H NMR‐, EPR‐, and Mössbauer spectroscopy. Two exceptions were found. The fluorido iron(III) complex is inhomogenous in the solid and contains a thermal i.s. (S=3/2)→high spin (h.s., S=5/2) crossover fraction. On the other side, the cationic bis(pyridine) complex resides in the expected low spin (l.s., S=1/2) state. Chemically, the iron 10‐thiacorroles differ from the iron porphyrins mainly by weaker axial ligand binding and by a cathodic shift of the redox potentials. These features make the 10‐thiacorroles interesting ligands for future research on biomimetic catalysts and model systems for unusual heme protein active sites.  相似文献

N‐alkylisonitrile, a precursor to isonitrile‐containing lipopeptides, is biosynthesized by decarboxylation‐assisted ‐N≡C group (isonitrile) formation by using N‐alkylglycine as the substrate. This reaction is catalyzed by iron(II) and 2‐oxoglutarate (Fe/2OG) dependent enzymes. Distinct from typical oxygenation or halogenation reactions catalyzed by this class of enzymes, installation of the isonitrile group represents a novel reaction type for Fe/2OG enzymes that involves a four‐electron oxidative process. Reported here is a plausible mechanism of three Fe/2OG enzymes, Sav607, ScoE and SfaA, which catalyze isonitrile formation. The X‐ray structures of iron‐loaded ScoE in complex with its substrate and the intermediate, along with biochemical and biophysical data reveal that ‐N≡C bond formation involves two cycles of Fe/2OG enzyme catalysis. The reaction starts with an FeIV‐oxo‐catalyzed hydroxylation. It is likely followed by decarboxylation‐assisted desaturation to complete isonitrile installation.  相似文献

A series of mononuclear RuIII complexes [RuCl2(L)]+, where L is tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPA) or one of four TPA derivatives as tetradentate ligand, were prepared and characterized by spectroscopic methods, X-ray crystallography, and electrochemical measurements. The geometry of a RuIII complex having a non-threefold-symmetric TPA ligand bearing one dimethylnicotinamide moiety was determined to show that the nicotine moiety resides trans to a pyridine group, but not to the chlorido ligand. The substituents of the TPA ligands were shown to regulate the redox potential of the ruthenium center, as indicated by a linear Hammett plot in the range of 200 mV for RuIII/RuIV couples with a relatively large rho value (+0.150). These complexes act as effective catalysts for alkane functionalization in acetonitrile with m-chloroperbenzoic acid (mCPBA) as terminal oxidant at room temperature. They exhibited fairly good reactivity for oxidation of cyclohexane (C--H bond energy 94 kcal mol(-1)), and the reactivity can be altered significantly by the electronic effects of substituents on TPA ligands in terms of initial rates and turnover numbers. Catalytic oxygenation of cyclohexane by a RuIII complex with 16O-mCPBA in the presence of H2 18O gave 18O-labeled cyclohexanol with 100% inclusion of the 18O atom from the water molecule. Resonance Raman spectra under catalytic conditions without the substrate indicate formation of a RuIV==O intermediate with lower bonding energy. Kinetic isotope effects (KIEs) in the oxidation of cyclohexane suggest that hydrogen abstraction is the rate-determining step and the KIE values depend on the substituents of the TPA ligands. Thus, the reaction mechanism of catalytic cyclohexane oxygenation depends on the electronic effects of the ligands.  相似文献

2,4-Dibromopyridine undergoes a regioselective Suzuki cross-coupling reaction at position 2 with several alkenyl(aryl) boronic acids to render 4-bromo-2-carbon substituted pyridines, difficult to be prepared otherwise, in good yields under palladium catalysis, either Pd(PPh3)4/TlOH or Pd2dba3/PCy3/K3PO4 at 25 °C. This behavior is explained on the basis of the electrophilic character of both C-Br bonds, being their relative reactivity in 2,4-dibromopyridine similar to that in the corresponding monobromopyridines. In addition, the dicoupled compound 6 is not formed through a double oxidative addition of 2,4-dibromopyridine to Pd(PPh3).  相似文献

Give me an “O”! Mononuclear nonheme iron(IV) oxo complexes have been generated using water as an oxygen source and cerium(IV) as an oxidant. The high‐yield oxygenation of organic substrates in this system (see picture, Fe green, O red, N blue, C gray) is catalyzed by iron(II) complexes. The source of oxygen in the iron(IV) oxo complexes and the oxygenated products has been assigned unambiguously by isotopic labeling experiments.

In this work it is shown that iron(III) and gold(I) triflimide efficiently catalyze the hydroaddition of a wide array of nucleophiles including water, alcohols, thiols, amines, alkynes, and alkenes to multiple C? C bonds. The study of the catalytic activity and selectivity of iron(III), gold(I), and Brønsted triflimides has unveiled that iron(III) triflimide [Fe(NTf2)3] is a robust catalyst under heating conditions, whereas gold(I) triflimide, even stabilized by PPh3, readily decomposes at 80 °C and releases triflimidic acid (HNTf2) that can catalyze the corresponding reaction, as shown by in situ 19F, 15N, and 31P NMR spectroscopy. The results presented here demonstrate that each of the two catalyst types has weaknesses and strengths and complement each other. Iron(III) triflimide can act as a substitute of gold(I) triflimide as a catalyst for hydroaddition reactions to unsaturated carbon–carbon bonds.  相似文献

Treating deuterohemin, chloro(deuteroporphyrinato)iron(III), with a non-coordinating base in DMSO/methanol allows for the isolation of [(deuteroporphyrinato)iron(III)]2, deuterohematin anhydride (DHA), an analogue of malaria pigment, the natural product of heme detoxification by malaria. The structure of DHA obtained from this solvent system has been solved by X-ray powder diffraction analysis and displays many similarities, yet important structural differences, to malaria pigment. Most notably, a water molecule of solvation occupies a notch created by the propionate side chains and stabilizes a markedly bent propionate ligand coordinated with a long Fe−O bond, and a carboxylate cluster associated with water molecules is generated. Together, these features account for its increased solubility and more open structure, with an increased porphyrin–porphyrin separation. The IR spectroscopic signature associated with this structure also accounts for the strong IR band at 1587 cm−1 seen for many amorphous preparations of synthetic malaria pigment, and it is proposed that stabilizing these structures may be a new objective for antimalarial drugs. The important role of the vinyl substituents in this biochemistry is further demonstrated by the structure of deuterohemin obtained by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.  相似文献

Bis(β‐enaminoketonato) vanadium(III) complexes ( 2a–c ) [O(R1)C?C(H)xC(R2)?NC6H5]2VCl(THF) and the corresponding vanadium(IV) complexes ( 3a–c ) [O(R1)C?C(H)xC(R2)? NC6H5]2VO (R1 = ? (CH2)4? , R2 = H, x = 0, a ; R1 = ? C6H5, R2 = H, x = 1, b ; R1 = ? C6H5, R2 = ? C6H5, x = 1, c ) have been synthesized from VCl3(THF)3 and VOCl2(THF)2, respectively, by treating with 2.0 equivalent β‐enaminoketonato ligands in tetrahydrofuran. Structures of 2b and 3a–c were further confirmed by X‐ray crystallographic analysis. The complexes were investigated as the catalysts for ethylene polymerization in the presence of Et2AlCl. Complexes 2a–c and 3a–c exhibited high catalytic activities (up to 23.76 kg of PE/mmolV h bar), and afforded polymers with unimodal molecular weight distributions at 70 °C indicating the good thermal stability. The catalytic behaviors were influenced not only by the oxidation state of the catalyst precursors but also by the ligand structures. Complexes 2a–c and 3a–c were also effective catalyst precursors for ethylene/1‐hexene copolymerization. The influence of polymerization parameters such as reaction temperature, Al/V molar ratio and hexene feed concentration on the ethylene/hexene copolymerization behaviors have bee also investigated in detail. In addition, the agents such as AlMe3, AliBu3, MeMgBr, MgCl2, and ZnEt2 were applied to control the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution modal. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The second phase of the gold-catalyzed phenol synthesis, the ring opening of the intermediate arene oxide, follows general acid catalysis. The product selectivity is determined by the substrate only and can be explained by the stability of the intermediate arenium ions. Thus, even remote substitutents can be used to control the chemoselectivity of the overall reaction by electronic influences and their influence is stronger than the steric influence of neighboring substituents. This is supported by quantum chemical calculations of the intermediates. The lack of exchange of deuterium labels excludes even equilibria with acetylide or vinylidene intermediates and the observed deuterium distribution in the final products is in accord with the NIH-shift reaction. In addition, these findings now explain previously obtained results.  相似文献

Efficient rhodium(III) catalysts were developed for asymmetric hydrogenation of simple olefins. A new series of chloride‐bridged dinuclear rhodium(III) complexes 1 were synthesized from the rhodium(I) precursor [RhCl(cod)]2, chiral diphosphine ligands, and hydrochloric acid. Complexes from the series acted as efficient catalysts for asymmetric hydrogenation of (E)‐prop‐1‐ene‐1,2‐diyldibenzene and its derivatives without any directing groups, in sharp contrast to widely used rhodium(I) catalytic systems that require a directing group for high enantioselectivity. The catalytic system was applied to asymmetric hydrogenation of allylic alcohols, alkenylboranes, and unsaturated cyclic sulfones. Control experiments support the superiority of dinuclear rhodium(III) complexes 1 over typical rhodium(I) catalytic systems.  相似文献

A series of neutral binuclear iridium and rhodium complexes were synthesized based on bis‐imine ligands under mild conditions. These half‐sandwich late transition metal complexes were isolated in good yields and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HR‐MS, and FT‐IR spectroscopies, and the solid state structure of complexes 1 and 2 were further confirmed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) characterization indicated that the complex 1 has the best catalyst for water oxidation process with TOF of 0.8 s?1 at low overpotential of 0.325 V in methanol‐phosphate buffer. The proposed double‐site water oxidation mechanism had been also speculated .  相似文献

The reaction of potassium ferrate(VI), K2FeO4, with weak‐acid dissociable cyanides—namely, K2[Zn(CN)4], K2[Cd(CN)4], K2[Ni(CN)4], and K3[Cu(CN)4]—results in the formation of iron(III) oxyhydroxide nanoparticles that differ in size, crystal structure, and surface area. During cyanide oxidation and the simultaneous reduction of iron(VI), zinc(II), copper(II), and cadmium(II), metallic ions are almost completely removed from solution due to their coprecipitation with the iron(III) oxyhydroxides including 2‐line ferrihydrite, 7‐line ferrihydrite, and/or goethite. Based on the results of XRD, Mössbauer and IR spectroscopies, as well as TEM, X‐ray photoelectron emission spectroscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller measurements, we suggest three scavenging mechanisms for the removal of metals including their incorporation into the ferrihydrite crystal structure, the formation of a separate phase, and their adsorption onto the precipitate surface. Zn and Cu are preferentially and almost completely incorporated into the crystal structure of the iron(III) oxyhydroxides; the formation of the Cd‐bearing, X‐ray amorphous phase, together with Cd carbonate is the principal mechanism of Cd removal. Interestingly, Ni remains predominantly in solution due to the key role of nickel(II) carbonate, which exhibits a solubility product constant several orders of magnitude higher than the carbonates of the other metals. Traces of Ni, identified in the iron(III) precipitate, are exclusively adsorbed onto the large surface area of nanoparticles. We discuss the relationship between the crystal structure of iron(III) oxyhydroxides and the mechanism of metal removal, as well as the linear relationship observed between the rate constant and the surface area of precipitates.  相似文献

Heteroleptic and homoleptic iron(III) complexes supported by a tris(N-heterocyclic carbene) borate ligand have been prepared and crystallographically characterized. The strong electron-donating character of the tris(carbene) donor was revealed by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and electrochemical measurements combined with quantum chemical calculations. The catalytic activity of each complex was evaluated in cyclohexane oxidation reaction using meta-chloroperoxybenzoic acid (=mCPBA) as an oxidant, and both complexes show high catalytic activity and selectivity with TON=∼350 and A/(K+L)=8–10. Mechanistic studies suggested that radical-chain processes are involved in the reaction due to mCPBA acting as a one-electron oxidant, concomitant with the pathway of metal-based reactive species. Moreover, it was found that the homoleptic and heteroleptic complexes differed significantly in the involvement of metal-based active species, with the homoleptic complex exhibiting more metal-based reactions.  相似文献

High‐spin iron(III)‐iodosylarene complexes are highly reactive in the epoxidation of olefins, in which epoxides are formed as the major products with high stereospecificity and enantioselectivity. The reactivity of the iron(III)‐iodosylarene intermediates is much greater than that of the corresponding iron(IV)‐oxo complex in these reactions. The iron(III)‐iodosylarene species—not high‐valent iron(IV)‐oxo and iron(V)‐oxo species—are also shown to be the active oxidants in catalytic olefin epoxidation reactions. The present results are discussed in light of the long‐standing controversy on the one oxidant versus multiple oxidants hypothesis in oxidation reactions.  相似文献
