The q2 variation of the factor ?+(q2) in the decay K+π0e+ν has been studied using a sample of even detected in the CERN 1.1 m3 heavy-liquid bubble chamber. The data are consistent with a linear development ?+(q2)=?+(0) (1+λ+q/m2π) with λ+=0.027±0.008.  相似文献

The effects of single-photon corrections to the simple Drell-Yan mechanism (qq → γ1 → μ+μ?) are studied for massive dimuons at large transverse momentum in the processes π?p → μ+μ?X and pp → μ+μ?X. It is found that single-photon emission by the muons constitutes an important correction to the effects of single-gluon emission by the quarks for very massive (Mμμ2 ? mμ2) muon pairs.Interference of the amplitude for photon emission from the muons with that for radiation from the quarks generates an asymmetry in the muon angular distribution. The forward-backward asymmetry is studied in detail as a function of pair mass and transverse momentum.  相似文献

We derive comparison identities for waves satisfying the equation d2Ψ/dz2+q2(z)Ψ=0. One of these identities is used to show that to second order in the product (wavenumber component normal to interface) × (interface thickness), the reflection amplitude is given by r=(1?2q1q2l2)(q1?q2)(q1+q2), where l is a legnth determined by the deviation of the interface profile from a step, and q1, q2 are the normal components of the wave numbers in media 1 and 2 on either side of the interface. For the continuous interfaces discussed, l is about two-fifths of the 10–90 interface thickness. The corresponding formula for the transmission amplitude is t=(1+12(q1?q2)2l2)2q1(q1+q2).  相似文献

Intrinsic (primordial) transverse momenta of quarks and gluons are calculated as well as those arising from recoil (bremsstrahlung) effects, using only the well-known parton distributions as input. The intrinsic kT's lie typically in the range of 150–250 MeV. Recent approaches using heuristic integro-differential equations for kT distributions of partons are shown to disagree with the results obtained by rigorous QCD calculations. The transverse momenta of dimuon pairs produced in pp → μ+μ? + X at the ISR can be solely explained by dynamical recoil effects, i.e., qq→(μ+μ?)g and gq→(μ+μ?)q, and no significant intrinsic transverse parton momenta are required. These dimuon transverse momenta show a pronounced energy dependence which could be easily tested at the CERN ISR. The only disagreement occurs for the average dimuon 〈pT2〉, but not for 〈pT〉, observed in pN collisions. Possibilities to resolve this problem are discussed. Our results are also compared with previous theoretical analyses.  相似文献

Excitation functions of the capture reaction 12C(p, γ0)13N have been obtained at θγ = 0° and 90° and Ep = 150–2500 keV. The results can be explained if a direct radiative capture process, E1(s and d → p), to the ground state in 13N is included in the analysis in addition to the two well-known resonances in this beam energy range [Ep = 457(12+) and 1699 (32?) keV]. The direct capture component is enhanced through interference effects with the two resonance amplitudes. From the observed direct capture cross section, a spectroscopic factor of C2S(l = 1) = 0.49 ± 0.15 has been deduced for the 12? ground state in 13N. Excitation functions for the reaction 12C(p,γ1p1)12C have been obtained at θγ = 0° and 90° and Ep = 610–2700 keV. Away from the 1699 keV resonance the capture γ-ray yield is dominated by the direct capture process E1 (p → s) to the 2366 (12+) keV unbound state. Above Ep = 1 MeV, the observed excitation functions are well reproduced by the direct capture theory to unbound states (bremsstrahlung theory). Below Ep = 1 MeV, i.e., Ep → 457 keV, the theory diverges in contrast to observation. This discrepancy is well known in bremsstrahlung theory as the “infrared problem”. From the observed direct capture cross sections at Ep ? 1 MeV, a spectroscopic factor of C2S(l = 0) = 1.02 ± 0.15 has been found for the 2366 (12+) keV unbound state. A search for direct capture transitions to the 3512 (32?)and 3547 (52+) keV unbound states resulted in upper limits of C2S(l = 1) ≦ 0.5 and C2S(l = 2) ? 1.0, respectively. The results are compared with available stripping data as well as shell-model calculations. The astrophysical aspect of the 12C(p, γ0)13N reaction also is discussed.  相似文献

During the last few years many dynamical systems have been identified, that are completely integrable or even such to allow an explicit solution of the equations of motion. Some of these systems have the form of classical one-dimensional many-body problems with pair interactions; others are more general. All of them are related to Lie algebras, and in all known cases the property of integrability results from the presence of higher (hidden) symmetries. This review presents from a general and universal viewpoint the results obtained in this field during the last few years. Besides it contains some new results both of physical and mathematical interest.The main focus is on the one-dimensional models of n particles interacting pairwise via potentials V(q) = g2ν(q) of the following 5 types: νI(q)=q?2, νII(q)=a?2sinh2(aq), νIII(q)=a2/sin2(aq), νIV=a2P(aq), , νV(q)=q?22q2. Here P(q) is the Weierstrass function, so that the first 3 cases are merely subcases of the fourth. The system characterized by the Toda nearest-neighbor potential, gj2exp[-a(qj?qj+1)], is moreover considered. Various generalizations of these models, naturally suggested by their association with Lie algebras, are also treated.  相似文献

Using a target prepared by on-line isotope separation, thermal neutron capture in 84Rb (Iπ = 2?) has been shown to induce proton emission to the ground state (0+) and first excited state (2+) of 84Kr. The branching ratio was measured as Γp(0+)Γp(2+) = 4.7 ± 0.7, favouring a 32? assignment of the capturing state without excluding 52?, and the (nth, p) cross section as 12 ± 2 b. The energy available for the process was determined to be 3.45 ± 0.01 MeV, in agreement with other mass data in the region.  相似文献

This letter reports a study of 117 opposite-sign and 41 like-sign dimuons, in a wide-band neutrino exposure of Gargamelle at CERN SPS. No signal is found in the μ?μ? channel. The μ?μ+ channel is found to be dominated by D-meson production and decay. There is evidence in these events for missing energy which may be interpreted as an unseen neutrino. The V0 multiplicities, K0/event=0.53?0.20+0.25and Λ/event=0.03?0.04+0.06 show only evidence for charmed meson production. Information on the D-meson fragmentation function is presented. In a specific model, a rate σ?μ+)σ(μ?)=(0.72±0.14×10?2 is found, independent of the energy. An investigation of these events for visible D-decays sets a limit on the life-time τD<0.8 ×10?12s at 90% C.L.  相似文献

From the angular distributions of γ-rays emitted by oriented 129gTe and 129mTe nuclei implanted in iron by isotope separator, unique spin assignments could be made for the excited states of 129I at 487.4 keV (52+), 696.0 keV (112+), 729.6 keV (92+), 768.9 keV (72+), 1050.4 keV (72+) and 1111.8 keV (52+). In addition, E2/M1 amplitude ratios for the following 129I γ-rays (energies are in keV) are derived: δ(459.6) = ?(0.076+0.037?0.148); δ(487.4) = 0.50+0.17?0.10 or δ? = 0.35+0.15?0.09; δ(556.7) = 0.06±0.02 or δ? = ?(0.10±0.02); δ(624.4) = 0.10±0.26 or δ? > 0.4; the 696.0 keV γ-ray is pure E2; δ(729.6) = ?(0.34±0.06) or δ?1 = 0.55±0.05; δ(741.1) = ?(0.27±0.10) or δ?1 = ?(0.43±0.12); δ(817.2) = 0.46±0.04 or δ?1 =0.20±0.03 if Iπ (845 keV) = 72+; δ(1022.6) = ?(0.02 ±0.02) or δ?1 = ?(0.23±0.02); δ(1084) = 0.56 +0.04?0.14; δ(1111.8) = 0.06±0.05 or δ?1 = ?(0.08±0.05). The anisotropy of the 531.8 keV γ-ray excludes 12+ as a possible spin assignment for the 559.6 keV level, so that no 12+ level is fed in the decay from 129Te. Anisotropies for the 209, 250.7, 278.4 and 281.1 keV γ-rays are also measured. Comparison of the level scheme is made with theoretical predictions from both the pairing-plus-quadrupole model and the intermediate coupling unified model.  相似文献

The threshold behaviour of pion production presented in our earlier work is successfully compared with the new SPEAR data. By using duality and sum rules we derive FT(π+)(x) ≈ FL(π+)(x) ≈ FT(π0)(x) ? If the hadronic contribution to vacuum polarization, which is proportional to the ration of e+e? annihilation into hadrons to that into μ+μ? rises asymptotically as a power β > 12 of the squared four-momentum, the ratio σ(e+e?→hadrons)σ point (σpoint = (4πα2)(3s)) is bound to be less than ?(3 tg πβ)(8α) and this limit is approached sooner for higher β. The form factors which govern the semileptonic decays of pseudoscalar particles (M→M′+?+ν?) are constrained by the knowledge of the two-point function Πμν(q) = i ∫ d4x eiqx〈06TVμ(x) Vν+ (0)60〉 in the deep euclidean region, where Vμ(x) denotes the vector current responsible for the transition M→M′. We derive the precise constraints from a QCD calculation of Πμν which includes perturbative contributions to two loops as well as leading non-perturbative contributions. Applications to π?3, K?3 and D+K0e+νe decays are discussed.  相似文献

We present a complete set of rotationally invariant observables (Hl) which characterizes the ‘shapes’ of final states in e+e? annihilation. They are infrared stable when calculated in QCD perturbation theory. We compare the ‘shapes’ of final states from the processes e+e?qq, e+e?qq(G) and from the three-gluon decays of heavy vector mesons. We also consider the production and decay of heavy quarks and leptons. Using a realistic model for the development of hadron jets, we find that for c.m. energies above about 10 GeV, these processes may be clearly distinguished by their distributions in the Hl. We indicate how our analysis may be extended to deep inelastic lepton-hadron interactions and hadron-hadron collisions involving large transverse momenta.  相似文献

We show that knowledge of the valence quark distribution of a proton at one value of q2, enables one to calculate a contribution to the difference between the distribution of anti-up quarks (up) and anti-down quarks (dp) in the sea of the proton at higher values of q2. This difference can be expressed as a linear combination of the structure functions F1, for νp → νX and e?p → e?p (for which one knows the q2 behaviour of the moments) and for νp → μ?Xandνp → μ+X (for which one knows the q2 behaviour of the odd moments). The calculable contribution involves a non-trivial continuation of the even (odd) moments of the neutral (charged) current structure functions to odd (even) moments. We calculate this contribution and although we find that its sign is negative we point out that this cannot be interpreted as a consequences of the Pauli exclusion principle. We discuss the constraints our results impose on antiquark distributions.  相似文献

The reaction e + p → e′ + π+ + n was measured near the one pion threshold, detecting the final electron and neutron in coincidence for values of q2 = 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 GeV2. The magnetic hyperfine splitting vM=|gμNBHF/h| of 196mAu (jπ=12?; configuration ¦(π112(v132+)〉12?; T12 = 9.7 h) as dilute impurity in Ni has been determined with nuclear magnetic resonance on oriented nuclei as 96.0(2) MHz. With the known hyperfine field BHF = ?264.4(3.9) kG corrected for hyperfine anomalies the g-factor and magnetic moment of 196mAu are deduced to be |g| = 0.476(7) and |μ| = 5.72(8) μN. Taking into account the known magnetic properties of π12? and v132+ isomeric states in the neighbouring odd Pt, Au and Hg nuclei the structure of the 12? state is discussed.  相似文献

The small ω′ behaviour of F2en/F2ep and the apparent difference in the q2 dependences of the magnetic form factor of the proton and of the transition to Δ+(1236) are quantitatively correlated in a model where nucleon consistes of a quarks and a scalar or vector core. The proton and Δ transition form factors suggest that only the scalar core contributes at large q2 and small ω′. As a result the ω′ dependence of F2enF2ep is obtained for ω′ < 3 and predictions for the weak structure functions and polarisation asymmetries at smallω′ are presented. We predict FνpFνnω′→10 asymmetries ω′→11 and also expect that GmnGmp?12 as q2→∞.  相似文献

Rare decay modes of the f meson are studied in the final states Δ++π+π?π+π?, Δ++π+π?MM and Δ++π+π?π+π?MM. The ratio Γ (f → π+π?π0π0)Γ(f → π+π?) is 0.23 ± 0.09 and Γ(f → 4 π) saturates the f inelasticity. A 2 s.d. upper limit of 0.09 is found for the branching ratio (f → ηη)(f → 2π).  相似文献
