Angular distributions have been measured for the elastic and inelastic scattering of 18O by 16O and 18O at laboratory bombarding energies of 42 and 52 MeV. The inelastic scattering data are analyzed in terms of collective excitations using a coupled channel approach. Deformation parameters are obtained for the strongly excited states. The relationship between the strength of inelastic scattering and the amount of structure in the elastic scattering distributions is discussed.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic scattering of 14C at 51 MeV from targets of 40Ca, 56Fe, 60Ni, 66Zn and 88Sr has been measured using a Q3D spectrometer. The 14C-nucleus potentials have been derived by optical-model analysis of the observed elastic scattering; the inelastic scattering differential cross sections were interpreted in the distorted-wave Born approximation and also in the coupled-channels approach. The analysis yields 14C-nucleus potentials that closely resemble 12, 13C and 16O potentials.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for the elastic and inelastic scattering of protons by 17O have been measured at 8.62, 9.45 and 10.5 MeV. Excitation functions at 110° and 140° were measured from 8.5 to 10.5 MeV. The elastic scattering angular distributions were used to find optical model parameters for the scattering. The angular distributions of inelastically scattered protons were analysed using the effective interaction method of Satchler, and also with the microscopic theory of Geramb and Amos.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic scattering of 11.8 MeV vector polarized deuterons from 34S has been studied. Angular distributions of the cross section σ(θ) and vector analyzing power iT11(θ) have been measured for the ground state and the first three excited states in 34S. Optical model parameters were first obtained by fitting the elastic deuteron scattering data alone. DWBA calculations with a collective model form factor were performed for the inelastic scattering to the excited states. Coupled-channels calculations were also done both for the one-phonon and the two-phonon excited states. The optical model parameters were suitably modified to obtain simultaneous fit to elastic and inelastic data when channel coupling was introduced. The values of the vibrational parameter β2 for one- and two-phonon states are discussed and compared with those obtained from γ-decay width studies.  相似文献

Measurements of differential elastic and inelastic cross sections for neutron scattering from 16O at incident energies 18 to 26 MeV are presented. In addition to cross sections for neutron scattering differential cross sections for proton scattering up to 66 MeV are described in terms of phenomenological optical model potentials. At 24.5 MeV incident energy inelastic scattering up to 11.5 MeV excitation was measured. The elastic and inelastic compound nucleus contributions were examined. Direct inelastic scattering from the normal parity states was calculated using the DWBA and coupled-channel formalisms. The inelastic scattering cross section from non-normal parity state 2 was calculated using the coupled-channel formalism via multi-step processes. Cross sections due to inelastic scattering from some of the states, which are thought to be members of an excited state rotational band were calculated using both vibrational and rotational approaches and were compared.  相似文献

Differential cross-section angular distributions for the elastic scattering of 270 MeV3He particles from58Ni,90Zr,116Sn and208Pb have been measured. Optical model analysis of the cross-sections has yielded the optical model parameters for3He particles at 270 MeV. Angular distributions have also been measured for the inelastic excitation of the low-lying levels in the above mentioned nuclei. A collective model analysis using the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) of these cross-sections with the distorted waves generated by the optical model parameters determined from the elastic scattering analysis, has yielded the reduced transition probability (B(EL)) values consistent with those reported in the literature.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic scattering of protons from 6Li has been studied at incident energies of 25.9, 29.9, 35.0, 40.1 and 45.4 MeV. The 2.18 MeV (3+, T = 0) first excited state of 6Li was found to be strongly excited, but the 3.56 MeV (0+, T = 1) second excited state was quite weakly excited. Angular distributions for excitation of the 2.18 MeV level were measured at all five energies, while angular distributions for excitation of the 3.56 MeV level were extracted only at 25.9 and 45.4 MeV. To test the applicability of the optical model for the scattering of protons from such a light nucleus the elastic scattering angular distributions have been analyzed using the eleven-parameter search code SEEK. Available polarization angular distributions were included in the analysis. Reasonable fits to the data have been obtained with an average geometry potential. Theoretical estimates of the real part of the optical potential and the inelastic scattering differential cross sections have been made using the microscopic model for proton-nucleus scattering. Both phenomenological and realistic forces have been considered and the necessary nuclear transition densities have been extracted from experimental elastic and inelastic electron scattering data. An estimate of a possible spin-spin term in the optical potential has also been made.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic scattering of 178 MeV protons from 58Ni and 60Ni has been studied. Angular distributions were measured for the differential cross sections for elastic scattering as well as inelastic scattering from excited states below about 5 MeV, all with natural parity. For the elastic and for the inelastic scattering from the first excited state (2+ in both nuclei, the angular distributions for the polarization were also measured. The measurements extend out to c.m. angles of about 60°, corresponding to a momentum transfer of about 600 MeV/c.The elastic and inelastic scattering data were compared to the results of coupled-channel calculations in the vibrational model using a deformed spin-orbit interaction of the full Thomas form. Good agreement was found in general showing that the main features of the experimental results are well described in this model.  相似文献

Analyzing powers and cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering of 20, 30 and 40MeV polarized protons from12C and16O have been analyzed in the coupled-channels collective model using the full Thomas deformed spin-orbit term. It is clear from this analysis that the spin-orbit deformation is energy dependent.  相似文献

Differential cross sections and polarization observables for the elastic and inelastic scattering of 800-MeV protons on 16O and 20Ne nuclei are calculated on the basis of the theory of multiple diffractive scattering and the α-cluster model involving dispersion. The single-particle nucleon-density distributions obtained within the α-cluster model involving dispersion are used in the calculations. The differential cross sections and polarization calculated for elastic and inelastic p16O and p20Ne scattering are compatible with available experimental data. The spin-rotation functions calculated for elastic p16O and p20Ne scattering within the independent-nucleon model differ qualitatively from their counterparts calculated within the α-cluster model involving dispersion.  相似文献

The total neutron cross section of57Fe in the keV region was measured in a transmission experiment using a pulsed Van de Graaff generator. Experimental data were fitted with a two channel multilevel formula to obtain the individual resonance parameters including the inelastic scattering width. The strength-function and its spin dependence are investigated. The data indicate a correlation between the phases of the reduced amplitudes for elastic and inelastic scattering. In a further experiment the 14,4 keV-γ-radiation of the (n, n′ γ)-reaction in57Fe was detected. The application of this reaction for Möβbauer experiments is discussed.  相似文献

Analyzing powers and cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering of 20, 30 and 40 MeV polarized protons from12C and16O have been analyzed in the coupled-channels collective model using the full Thomas deformed spin-orbit term. Evidence is given that there is an imaginary spin-orbit potential in the proton optical potential for these nuclei.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for the elastic and inelastic scattering of 14.1 MeV neutrons from 209Bi have been measured with a time-of-flight system which had an energy resolution of 650 keV. For elastic scattering from 209Bi, an optical-model analysis gave the best-fit potential parameters. The absolute cross sections for excitation of collective (2.66 and 4.36 MeV) states are reproduced by the results of distorted-wave calculations under the assumption of a core (208Pb) excitation model using deformation parameters obtained from (p, p') reactions.  相似文献

The contributions of two-particle transfer to elastic and inelastic scattering of heavy ions are treated simultaneously in the coupled channels framework using microscopic transfer form factors. As an example, the reaction 18O(16O, 16O)18O(g.s. and 21+) is investigated at three energies near the Coulomb barrier. The interference between scattering and transfer leads to a consistent interpretation of both elastic and inelastic data. Indirect transfer contributions give relatively small, but non-negligible corrections to the direct scattering plus transfer result, removing a previously reported energy dependence of the spectroscopic factor.  相似文献

The alpha-particle model has been applied to calculate the elastic and the 2+ inelastic angular distribution of 1 GeV protons on12C within the framework of Glauber multiple scattering theory. The results are compared with the recent experimental data and with some previous calculations. The model gives a fairly good account of the inelastic data and its predictions for the elastic scattering are essentially the same as those of the shell model.  相似文献

An optical potential component is constructed to represent the effect of a strongly coupled inelastic excitation upon elastic scattering. In the particular case of quadrupole Coulomb excitation a long range imaginary potential component is derived in closed form. The effects of long range absorption upon the elastic scattering are considered in a general way by inserting this potential into a weak absorption model and deriving an elastic scattering cross section in closed form. Below the Coulomb barrier the formula takes a simple form which may be related to the semiclassical theory of Coulomb excitation. The potential component arising from nuclear excitation of an inelastic state may be evaluated numerically on a computer. Two examples computed (50 MeV α-scattering on 154Sm and 60 MeV 16O scattering on 40Ca) exhibit strong l-dependence in the potential component.  相似文献

Nuclear and Coulomb deformation parameters have been deduced from DWBA analyses of angular distributions of 67.5 MeV 13C ions inelastically scattered from 142Nd. Optical model parameters from fits of measured elastic scattering data were used with previously measured B(EL) values to determine initial deformation parameters. Comparison With the experimental data indicates that DWBA calculations can be used to understand the inelastic scattering from the nearly spherical nucleus 142Nd.  相似文献

Elastic scattering differential cross sections for the interaction of 100 MeV protons with 24Mg and 28Si have been measured using a high-resolution Ge(Li) spectrometer to resolve the inelastic scattering contribution to the elastic peak. The results have been analysed using the conventional optical model, and the experimental differential cross sections and total reaction cross section are excellently reproduced. The results agree with previous analyses of the elastic scattering of 100 MeV protons on 1p shell nuclei in that no set of geometric parameters can provide a quantitative fit to both nuclei. It is observed, however, that the fluctuations of the optical-model parameters for optimum fits are decreased over the fluctuations observed for the 1p shell nuclei. The present results combined with previous optical-model analyses on 24Mg and 28Si at 50 MeV and 40 MeV respectively, are found to be consistent with an energy dependence of dV/dE ≈ −0.3 for the depth of the real central potential in agreement with other, more extensive, investigations of the energy dependence for protons elastically scattered from 16O and 40Ca.  相似文献
