Stochastic resonance (SR) in nonlinear systems is a counterintuitive concept in which a weak periodic signal and noise cooperate and give rise to a maximum in the signal-to-noise ratio at the output of the system when the noise is tuned to a certain value. In the coherence resonance phenomenon (CR), there is no deterministic signal to be enhanced. Intrinsic oscillations are present as transients. Adding an optimum noise turns transients into coherent ones. We discuss the possible application of SR and CR concepts to CDW dynamics in quasi-one dimensional conductors. We show in a preliminary experiment that addition of white noise can modify the behavior of the CDW in the quasi-one dimensional conductor K0.30MoO3.  相似文献

An autonomous stochastic system with nonlinear time-delayed feedback is investigated employing the stochastic simulation method. In the autonomous stochastic system with quadratic time-delayed feedback or under positive feedback, the nonlinear delay time fails to possess the role improving the noisy state of the system. In the autonomous stochastic system with cubic time-delayed feedback and under negative feedback, the nonlinear delay time can improve the noisy state, tuning the signal output, and generating incoherence and coherence maximization. We reveal a new kind of anti-coherence and coherence resonance phenomena induced by the nonlinear time delay in the autonomous stochastic system without external periodic force, discussing further the effects of the noise strength, the control parameter, and the feedback strength on anti-coherence and coherence resonance.  相似文献

We prove the existence of solutions to the nonlinear parabolic stochastic differential equation $$({\partial \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {\partial {\partial t}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\partial t}} - \Delta )\varphi = - V'(\varphi ) + \eta _c $$ for polynomialsV of even degree with positive leading coefficient and ν c a gaussian colored noise process onR d ×R +. When ν c is colored enough that the gaussian solution to the linear problem has Hölder continuous covariance, the nongaussian processes are almost surely realized by continuous functions. Uniqueness, regularity properties, asymptotic perturbation expansions and nonperturbative fluctuation bounds are obtained for the infinite volume processes. These equations are a cutoff version of the Parisi-Wu stochastic quantization procedure forP(?) d models, and the results of this paper rigorously establish the nonperturbative nature of regularization via modification of the noise process. In the limit ν c → gaussian white noise we find that the asymptotic expansion and the rigorous bounds agree for processes corresponding to the (regulated) stochastic quantization of super-renormalizable and small coupling, strictly renormalizable scalar field theories and disagree for nonrenormalizable models.  相似文献

We examine the possibility of obtaining Set–Reset latch logical operation in a symmetric bistable system subjected to OU noise. Three major results are presented. First, we prove the Set–Reset latch logical operation can be obtained driven by OU noise. Second, while increasing the correlation time, the optimal noise band shifts to higher level and becomes wider. Meanwhile, peak performance degrades from 100% accuracy, but the system can still perform reliable logical operation. Third, at fixed noise intensity, the success probability evolves non-monotonically as correlation time increases. The study might provide development of the new paradigm of memory device.  相似文献

In order to explain the occurrence of a minimum in firing rate which occurs for certain mean input levels μμ as noise level σσ increases (inverse stochastic resonance, ISR) in Hodgkin–Huxley (HH) systems, we analyze the underlying transitions from a stable equilibrium point to limit cycle and vice-versa. For a value of μμ at which ISR is pronounced, properties of the corresponding stable equilibrium point are found. A linearized approximation around this point has oscillatory solutions from whose maxima spikes tend to occur. A one dimensional diffusion is also constructed for small noise. Properties of the basin of attraction of the limit cycle (spike) are investigated heuristically. Long term trials of duration 500000 ms are carried out for values of σσ from 0 to 2.0. The graph of mean spike count versus σσ is divided into 4 regions R1,…,R4R1,,R4, where R3R3 contains the minimum associated with ISR. In R1R1 transitions to the basin of attraction of the rest point are not observed until a small critical value of σ=σc1σ=σc1 is reached, at the beginning of R2R2. The sudden decline in firing rate when σσ is just greater than σc1σc1 implies that there is only a small range of noise levels 0<σ<σc10<σ<σc1 where repetitive spiking is safe from annihilation by noise. The firing rate remains small throughout R3R3. At a larger critical value σ=σc2σ=σc2 which signals the beginning of R4R4, the probability of transitions from the basin of attraction of the equilibrium point to that of the limit cycle apparently becomes greater than zero and the spike rate thereafter increases with increasing σσ. The quantitative scheme underlying the ISR curve is outlined in terms of the properties of exit time random variables. In the final subsection, several statistical properties of the main random variables associated with long term spiking activity are given, including distributions of exit times from the two relevant basins of attraction and the interspike interval.  相似文献

The nano-friction phenomenon in a one-dimensional Frenkel-Kontorova (FK) model under Gaussian colored noise is investigated by using the molecular dynamic simulation method. The role of colored noise is analyzed through the inclusion of a stochastic force via a Langevin molecular dynamics method. Via the stochastic Runge-Kutta algorithm, the relationship between different parameter values of the Gaussian colored noise (the noise intensity and the correlation time) and the nano-friction phenomena such as hysteresis, the maximum static friction force is separately studied here. Similar results are obtained from the two geometrically opposed ideal cases: incommensurate and commensurate interfaces. It was found that the noise strongly influences the hysteresis and maximum static friction force and with an appropriate external driving force, the introduction of noise can accelerate the motion of the system, making the atoms escape from the substrate potential well more easily. Interestingly, suitable correlation time and noise intensity give rise to super-lubricity. It is noteworthy that the difference between the two circumstances lies in the fact that the effect of the noise is much stronger on triggering the motion of the FK model for the commensurate interface than that for the incommensurate interface.  相似文献

In this paper, the stochastic resonance (SR) phenomenon of the linear coupled bistable system induced by Lévy noise is analyzed. Meanwhile, the characteristics of Lévy noise is also analyzed according to its probability density functions (PDFs) of different stability index α, symmetry parameter β, scale parameter σ and location index μ. The mean of signal-noise ratio increase (MSNRI) is regarded as an index to measure the SR phenomenon. Then, the rules for MSNRI affected by noise intensity D are explored under different charastic indexes of Lévy noise, system parameters a, b, c and coupling coefficient r. The results are beneficial to the numerical simulation of single-frequency and multi-frequency weak signals detection based on single bistable system and linear coupled system respectively. It is found that the performance of the proposed system is better than single bistable system and results of bearing fault detection could also verify the conclusion.  相似文献

Noise effects on coherence resonance and synchronization of Hindmarsh-Rose (HR) neuron model are studied. The coherence resonance of a single HR neuron with Gaussian white noise added to the membrane potential is investigated in situations before, near and after the Hopf bifurcation, separately, with the external direct current as a bifurcation parameter. It is shown that even though there is no coupling between neurons, uncoupled identical HR neurons driven by a common noise can achieve complete synchronization when the noise intensity is higher than a critical value. Furthermore, noise also enhances complete synchronization of weakly coupled neurons. It is concluded that synchronization in bursting neurons is easier to be induced than in spiking ones, and coupling enhances the sensitivity of synchronization of neurons to noise stimulus.  相似文献

The Kaplan-Yorke dimension can be derived using a linear interpolation between an h-dimensional Lyapunov exponent λ(h)>0 and an h+1-dimensional Lyapunov exponent λ(h+1)<0. In this Letter, we use a polynomial interpolation to obtain generalized Lyapunov dimensions and study the relationships among them for higher-dimensional systems.  相似文献

A tri-stable system excited by weak periodic signal is taken as a model and the stochastic resonance phenomenon is investigated by additive α stable noise in this paper. The laws for the resonance system parameters q, p, skewness parameter r and intensity amplification factor Q of α stable noise to act on the resonant output are explored under different stability indicies α and asymmetric skewness β of α stable noise. The results indicate that a weak signal can be realized by tuning the system parameters q, p and r under the joint action of additive α stable noise, and the interval of q and p which can induce stochastic resonance does not change with α or β. Moreover, a certain rule is found in which adjusting the intensity amplification factor Q of α stable noise can also realize a synergistic effect when studying the noise-induced stochastic resonance, and the interval of Q does not change with α or β; the best value of the characteristic index is α=1 under any system parameter, and the best value of the symmetry parameter is β=1 under any system parameter. So, the system performance is best when α=1 and β=1. The results will contribute to a reasonable selection of parameter-induced stochastic resonance system parameters and noise intensity of noise-induced stochastic resonance under α stable noise.  相似文献

By adopting the gain-noise model of the single-mode laser in which with bias and periodical signals serve as inputs, combining with the effect of coloured pump noise, we use the linear approximation method to calculate the power spectrum and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the laser intensity under the condition of pump noise and quantum noise cross-related in the form of S function. It is found that with the change of pump noise correlation time, both SNR and the output power will occur stochastic resonance (SR). If the bias signal a is very small, changing the intensities of pump noise and quantum noise respectively does not lead to the appearance of SR in the SNR; while a increases to a certain number, SR appears.  相似文献

A response analysis procedure is developed for a vibro-impact system excited by colored noise. The non-smooth transformation is used to convert the vibro-impact system into a new system without impact term. With the help of the modified quasi-conservative averaging, the total energy of the new system can be approximated as a Markov process, and the stationary probability density function (PDF) of the total energy is derived. The response PDFs of the original system are obtained using the analytical solution of the stationary PDF of the total energy. The validity of the theoretical results is tested through comparison with the corresponding simulation results. Moreover, stochastic bifurcations are also explored.  相似文献

Stochastic resonance (SR) for bias signal modulation is studied in a single-mode laser system. By investigating a gain-noise model driven by correlated pump noise and quantum noise, we find that, whether the correlation coefficient between both the noises is positive or negative, SR always appears in the dependence of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) upon the noise correlation time and the frequency of the modulation signal. However, only when the correlation coefficient between both noises is negative can SR occur in the dependence of SNR upon the quantum noise intensity and pump noise intensity, while when the correlation coefficient between both noises is positive, it shows monotonically.  相似文献

In this paper, the stochastic resonance (SR) of a multi-stable system driven by Lévy noise is investigated by the mean signal-to-noise ratio gain (SNR-GM). The characteristics for resonant output of multi-stable system, governed by the system parameters (a and c), the noise amplification factor D of Lévy noise are investigated under different values of stability index α and asymmetry parameter β of Lévy noise. The results reveal that the parameter α is closer to 1, the amplitude of SNR-GM versus system parameter a (or c) is larger. The interval of SR presents a trend that the curve of SNR-GM shifts to the right with the increase of α especially when α > 1. In addition, the SNR-GM for different values of system parameter a (or c) exhibits a tendency to move to the left with the increase of system parameter c (or a). Finally, the simulation results prove that the proposed multi-stable model has better advantage than bistable system and monostable system in signal enhancement and SNR-GM performance.  相似文献

We show that a VMD based theoretical input allows for a significantly improved accuracy for the hadronic vacuum polarization of the photon which contributes to the theoretical estimate of the muon g-2. We also show that the only experimental piece of information in the τ decay which cannot be accounted for within this VMD framework is the accepted value for Br(τ→ππvτ), while the T spectum lineshape is in agreement with expectations from e^+e^- annihilations.  相似文献

In this paper, the stochastic resonance in a bias linear system subjected multiplicative and additive dichotomous noise is investigated. Using the linear-response theory and the properties of the dichotomous noise, this paper finds the exact expressions for the first two moments and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). It is shown that the SNR is a non-monotonic function of the correlation time of the multiplicative and additive noise, and it varies non-monotonously with the intensity and asymmetry of the multiplicative noise as well as the external field frequency. Moreover, the SNR depends on the system bias, the intensity of the cross noise between the multiplicative and additive noise, and the strength and asymmetry of the additive noise.  相似文献

The stochastic bifurcation of a generalized Duffing–van der Pol system with fractional derivative under color noise excitation is studied. Firstly, fractional derivative in a form of generalized integral with time-delay is approximated by a set of periodic functions. Based on this work, the stochastic averaging method is applied to obtain the FPK equation and the stationary probability density of the amplitude. After that, the critical parameter conditions of stochastic P-bifurcation are obtained based on the singularity theory. Different types of stationary probability densities of the amplitude are also obtained. The study finds that the change of noise intensity, fractional order, and correlation time will lead to the stochastic bifurcation.  相似文献

We consider the limitations due to noise (e.g., quantum projection noise and photon shot-noise) on the sensitivity of an idealized atomic magnetometer that utilizes spin squeezing induced by a continuous quantum nondemolition measurement. Such a magnetometer measures spin precession of N atomic spins by detecting optical rotation of far-detuned light. We show that for very short measurement times, the optimal sensitivity scales as N(-3/4); if strongly squeezed probe light is used, the Heisenberg limit of N-1 scaling can be achieved. However, if the measurement time exceeds tau(rel)/N(1/2) in the former case, or tau(rel)/N in the latter, where tau(rel) is the spin relaxation time, the scaling becomes N(-1/2), as for a standard shot-noise-limited magnetometer.  相似文献
