This article investigates the chaotic Lotka–Volterra system as an optimal nonlinear design problem for biological pest control strategies. In the biological control strategy, natural enemies are introduced such that the pest density is stabilized below the economic injury level, and the population of natural enemies remains sufficiently high to control the pests. Applying dynamic programming, this problem was reduced to the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation. The functions satisfying the reduced equation were obtained among the correspondent Lyapunov functions of the considered Lotka–Volterra system. A closed-form optimal feedback control law was derived. The effectiveness of the method is verified by numerical simulations of biological pest control. The biological implications of these results are also discussed.  相似文献

The ubiquitous feature of the nervous system of wide spread occurrence of complex dynamics behaviour is treated. The cardinal question concerning the nature of generators of such complex behaviour, namely if it is ad hoc random or deterministic but strongly nonlinear, is analyzed. It is proved analytically that the discrete dynamics of single neurons with the sigmoidal transfer function is potentially chaotic. As the by-product the functional gain-threshold mechanism in neurons is derived. This allows for the new interpretations of famous experiments by Miyashita on squirell monkeys. Then it is shown that the continuous dynamics of the neural circuits of two-three neurons are endowed with the potentiality of chaotic firing, too. Finally, it will be argued that the classical dogma of stochastic or the ad hoc random neural coding can be taken as the limiting case of presenting new approach of deterministic or chaotic paradigm.  相似文献

Multibody system dynamics is an essential part of computational dynamics a topic more generally dealing with kinematics and dynamics of rigid and flexible systems, finite elements methods, and numerical methods for synthesis, optimization and control including nonlinear dynamics approaches. The theoretical background of multibody dynamics is presented, the efficiency of recursive algorithms is shown, methods for dynamical analysis are summarized, and applications to vehicle dynamics and biomechanics are reported.
