In this study, the stress based finite element method is coupled with the boundary element method in two different ways. In the first one, the ordinary distribution matrix is used for coupling. In the second one, the stress traction equilibrium is used at the interface line of both regions as a new coupling process. This new coupling procedure is presented without a distribution matrix. Several case studies are solved for the validation of the developed coupling procedure. The results of case studies are compared with the distribution matrix coupling, displacement based finite element method, assumed stress finite element method, boundary element method, ANSYS and analytical results whenever possible. It is shown that the coupling of the stress traction equilibrium with assumed stress finite elements gives as accurate results as those by the distribution matrix coupling.  相似文献

Thermoelastic coupling effect on a micro-machined beam resonator   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
In this paper, the effect of thermoelastic coupling on a micro-machined resonator is studied. The calculated results show that the frequency shift ratio caused by thermoelastic coupling is of the order of 10−3, which is much larger than that of air-damping. Furthermore, the non-dimensional frequency is scale-dependent with thermoelastic coupling being considered. In contrast, the non-dimensional frequency only depends upon the ratio of thickness to length when the themoelastic coupling effect is disregarded.  相似文献

It is difficult that all the boundaries of chaotic system were estimated precisely; this is why the coupling coefficient cannot be determined beforehand in the problem of synchronization of complex networks. Thus, an estimation of coupling coefficient should be given before designing some controllers. In addition, to realize the synchronization, the estimated coupling coefficient has to be large enough. However, it is not true that the larger the coupling coefficient the better the synchronization is. In fact, a coupling coefficient which is larger than what it needs to be means the energy waste. To overcome this difficulty, in this paper we propose an adaptive coupling method. And a new concept about asymptotic stability is presented. Numerical simulations are implemented on different complex networks. The results indicate that the synchronization can be achieved without a large estimated coefficient.  相似文献

Nonlinear electric devices are important and essential for setting circuits so that chaotic outputs or periodical series can be generated. Chaotic circuits can be mapped into dimensionless dynamical systems by using scale transformation, and thus, synchronization control can be further investigated in numerical way. In case of synchronization approach, resistor is often used to bridge two chaotic circuits and gap junction connection is used to realize possible synchronization. In fact, complex electromagnetic effect in circuits should be considered when the capacitor and inductor (inductance coil) are attacked by high-frequency signals or noise-like disturbance. In this paper, two chaotic circuits are connected by using voltage coupling (via resistor) and triggering mutual induction electromotive force, which time-varying magnetic field is generated in the inductance coils. Therefore, magnetic field coupling is realized between two isolate inductance coils and induction electromotive force is generated to adjust the oscillation in circuits. It is found that field coupling can modulate the synchronization behaviors of chaotic circuits. In case of periodical oscillating state, the synchronization between two periodical circuits under voltage coupling is destroyed when field coupling is considered. Furthermore, the synchronization between chaotic circuits becomes more difficult when field coupling is triggered. Open problems for this topic are proposed for further investigation.  相似文献

连续体-颗粒耦合方法常用来描述连续-非连续颗粒行为或解决颗粒材料与其他可变形构件间相互作用问题。粗粒化coarse-graining (CG)是基于统计力学的均匀化方法,由离散的颗粒运动定义连续的宏观物理场。本文利用粗粒化(CG)推导有限元-离散元(FEM-DEM)表面和体积耦合的一般性表达式。对于表面耦合,CG可以将耦合力分布到颗粒-单元接触点以外的位置,如相邻的积分点;对于体积耦合,CG可以将颗粒尺度的运动均匀化到耦合单元上。由粗粒化推导出的耦合项仅包含一个参数,即粗粒化宽度,为均匀化后的宏观场定义了一个可调整的空间尺度。当粗粒化宽度为零时,表面和体积耦合表达式简化为常规局部耦合。本文通过弹性立方体冲击颗粒床和离散-连续介质间波传播两个数值算例,展示使用粗粒化方法提高耦合系统能量守恒的优势,并结合其他耦合参数(如体积耦合深度)讨论了粗粒化参数对数值稳定性和计算效率的影响。  相似文献

In this paper, we numerically study the effect of time-periodic coupling strength on the synchronization of firing activity in delayed Newman–Watts networks of chaotic bursting neurons. We first examine how the firing synchronization transitions induced by time delay under fixed coupling strength changes in the presence of time-periodic coupling strength, and then focus on how time-periodic coupling strength induces synchronization transitions in the networks. It is found that time delay can induce more synchronization transitions in the presence of time-periodic coupling strength compared to fixed coupling strength. As the frequency of time-periodic coupling strength is varied, the firing exhibits multiple synchronization transitions between spiking antiphase synchronization and in-phase synchronization of various firing behaviors including bursting, spiking, and both bursting and spiking, depending on the values of time delay. These results show that time-periodic coupling strength can increase the synchronization transitions by time delay and can induce multiple synchronization transitions of various firing behaviors in the neuronal networks. This means that time-periodic coupling strength plays an important role in the information processing and transmission in neural systems.  相似文献

An electrical circuit is proposed to realize an unidirectional coupling between two cells, mimicking chemical synaptic coupling. Each cell represents the FitzHugh–Nagumo (FHN) model of neuron with a modified exitability (MFHN). We present experimental results on frequency doublings and on the chaotic dynamics depending on the coupling strength in a master–slave configuration. In this article, we investigate the kinetic/fluid coupling on a toy model, which we obtain rigorously from a hydrodynamical limit. The idea is that at the level of the full kinetic model, the coupling is obvious. We then investigate the coupling obtained when passing into the limit. We show that, especially in presence of a shock stuck on the interface, the coupling involves a kinetic layer known as the Milne problem. Due to this layer, the limit process is quite delicate and some blow-up techniques are needed to ensure its strong convergence.  相似文献

Chemo-mechanical coupling exists in a lot of intelligent materials including hy- drogels, biological tissues and other soft materials. These materials are able to respond to ex- ternal stimulus, such as temperature, chemical concentration, and pH value. In this paper, a one-dimensional theoretical model for chemo-mechanical coupling is proposed for analyzing the uniaxial stress/strain state of coupling materials. Based on the chemo-mechanical coupled gov- erning equation, the displacement function and concentration function are derived and the stress and chemical potential are obtained. It is shown that the present chemo-mechanical theory can characterize the chemo-mechanical coupling behavior of intelligent materials.  相似文献

We present a new scheme for loose coupling in fluid–structure-interaction problems as they typically appear in the context of aircraft design. This coupling scheme is based upon generalized multivariate scattered data interpolation and is tailored for small structural models, which bear in addition to deformations also rotational information. 柔性梁在作大范围空间运动时,产生弯曲和扭转变形,这些变形的相互耦合形成了梁在纵向以及横向位移的二次耦合变量。本文考虑了变形产生的几何非线性效应对运动柔性梁的影响,在其三个方向的变形中均考虑了二次耦合变量,利用弹性旋转矩阵建立了准确的几何非线性变形方程,通过Lagrange方程导出系统的动力学方程。仿真结果表明,在大范围运动情况下,仅在纵向变形中计及了变形二次耦合量的一次动力学模型,与考虑了完全几何非线性变形的模型具有一定的差异。  相似文献

In [1], we have studied how the coupling between the working and beam type vibrations of the resonator affects the hemispherical resonator gyro operation. We show that such a coupling arises if the resonator is unbalanced. The beam type vibrations are considered as translational displacements of the resonator hemisphere in the plane orthogonal to the symmetry axis. In the present paper, we take into account the fact that the hemisphere translational displacement is accompanied by its rotation about the axis perpendicular to the displacement line. We show that in this case a more accurate balancing of the resonator is required to eliminate the coupling between the two vibration modes.  相似文献

Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical (THM) coupling pro- cesses in unsaturated soils are very important in both theoretical researches and engineering applications. A coupled formulation based on hybrid mixture theory is derived to model the THM coupling behavior of unsaturated soils. The free-energy and dissipative functions for different phases are derived from Taylor's series expansions. Constitutive relations for THM coupled behaviors of unsaturated soils, which include deformation, entropy change, fluid flow, heat conduction, and dynamic compatibility conditions on the interfaces, are then established. The number of field equations is shown to be equal to the number of unknown variables; thus, a closure of this coupling problem is established. In addition to modifications of the physical conservation equations with coupling effect terms, the constitutive equations, which consider the coupling between elastoplastic deformation of the soil skeleton, fluid flow, and heat transfer, are also derived.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss existence, stability, and symmetry of solutions for networks of parametrically forced oscillators. We consider a nonlinear oscillator model with strong 2:1 resonance via parametric excitation. For uncoupled systems, the 2:1 resonance property results in sets of solutions that we classify using a combinatorial approach. The symmetry properties for solution sets are presented as are the group operators that generate the isotropy subgroups. We then impose weak coupling and prove that solutions from the uncoupled case persist for small coupling by using an appropriate Poincaré map and the Implicit Function Theorem. Solution bifurcations are investigated as a function of coupling strength and forcing frequency using numerical continuation techniques. We find that the characteristics of the single oscillator system are transferred to the network under weak coupling. We explore interesting dynamics that emerge with larger coupling strength, including anti-synchronized chaos and unsynchronized chaos. A classification for the symmetry-breaking that occurs due to weak coupling is presented for a simple example network.  相似文献
