For a bounded open domain with connected complement inR 2 and piecewise smooth boundary, we consider the Dirichlet Laplacian- on and the S-matrix on the complement c . We show that the on-shell S-matricesS k have eigenvalues converging to 1 askk 0 exactly when-- has an eigenvalue at energyk 0 2 . This includes multiplicities, and proves a weak form of transparency atk=k 0. We also show that stronger forms of transparency, such asS k 0 having an eigenvalue 1 are not expected to hold in general.  相似文献

The static critical behavior of a mixed hydrogen-bonded ferro-antiferroelectric system is investigated with use of a pseudo-spin Ising model in a transverse field, which describes the tunneling of protons. Assuming an infinite-ranged random interbond coupling, then0 replica method is applied to evaluate the averaged free energy, from which the replica-symmetric solution of the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick type is obtained. It is shown that a proton pseudo-spin glass (PG) phase exists below a freezing temperatureT f , whereT f and the order parameters for the PG and ferroelectric phase are parametrized by the tunneling frequency . For c, where c = and is the random distribution width, no ordering is possible even forT0. Numerical solutions for the PG order parameter and the dielectric susceptibility atT0 are obtained, and the phase diagram for a simple model of a mixed system atT0 is presented.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. H.E. We establish a connection between conformally related Einstein spaces and conformai killing vectors (CKV). We begin with the conformal map and prove that (a) under the conformal mapping¯g ik=–2gik, the necessary and sufficient condition for the tracefree part of the Ricci tensor (S ik=Rik–(R/4)g ik) to remain invariant is that i is a CKV ofg ik, and (b) the most general form for for conformally flat Einstein space, which is the de Sitter space, is composed of three terms each of which alone represents a flat space. The existence of gradient CKV (GCKV) is examined in relation to vacuum and perfect fluid spacetimes.  相似文献

Within the framework of the conditions ; » –1 ( –1 is the mean time of momentum relaxation), the coefficient of absorption () of a weak electromagnetic wave by the free carriers of a polar semiconductor is calculated in the presence of a strong wave (of frequency ), for arbitrary values of and . Photon absorption by band electrons is due to these latter interacting with optical phonons (of frequency o). The problem is solved by using an analogous approach to the theory of the linear Kubo reaction. The results are valid in the absence of electron heating, when a strong wave only influences the scattering probability. The appearance of a photostimulated tail of absorption is predicted for < o, including the jump () for ( – o + ) 0T as well as peaks in the function () at the points s=s (s=1, 2, 3,...). The paper is devoted to a study of cyclotron instability ( e) of two opposite beams of electrons from the aspect of the quasilinear effects. For this case of instability the authors evolve the diffusion equation in the velocity space for an averaged distribution function. They estimate the relaxation times , z of the spreading of the distribution function in the velocity space. At the end of the paper, they compare their results with an experiment described by M. Seidl and P. unka [Phys. Letters11 (1964), 31].  相似文献

The wave-wave interaction of three interacting waves for a nonlinear model equation in a dispersive medium is studied. It is found that the nonlinear effect causes precession of the polarization ellipse as the wave propagates under the resonance condition 1 = 2 + 3 and k1 k2 + k3. The frequency shifts and the precessional frequencies are obtained under the above resonance conditions. A technique has been developed for the evaluation of self-precession and frequency shifts for circularly polarized waves.The author expresses his gratitude to Dr. B. We define a nondegenerate Monge–Ampère structure on a six-dimensional manifold as a pair (, ), such that is a symplectic form and is a 3-differential form which satisfies =0 and which is nondegenerate in the sense of Hitchin. We associate with such a pair a generalized almost (pseudo) Calabi–Yau structure and we study its integrability from the point of view of Monge–Ampère operators theory. The result we prove appears as an analogue of Lychagin and Roubtsov theorem on integrability of the almost complex or almost product structure associated with an elliptic or hyperbolic Monge–Ampère equation in dimension 4. We study from this point of view the example of the Stenzel metric on T*S 3.  相似文献

Evolution characters of angular velocity H of a Kerr black hole (BH) and distribution characters of angular velocity p of accreting particles near the BH horizon are investigated in the case of thin and thick disks, respectively. It is shown that H evolves in a non-monotonous way in the case of thin-disk-pure-accretion, attaining a maximum at a * 0.994. This evolution character turns out to depend on the radial gradient of p near the BH horizon. It is proved that both quantities, ( dH /dt) ms and ( p /r)r=r H, vanish at the same value of a *: a *0.994, and an explanation for the non-monotonousness of H is provided.  相似文献

Pregalactic black holes accrete matter in the early universe and produce copious amounts of x radiation. By using observations of the background radiation in the x and wavebands we have been able to impose a strong new constraint upon their possible abundance. If pregalactic black holes are actually present, several outstanding problems of cosmogony can be resolved with typical pregalactic black hole masses of 100M. Significantly more massive holes cannot constitute an appreciable mass fraction of the universe and are limited by PGBH(M)<10(M JM)–1.This essay received an honorable mention (1978) from the Gravity Research Foundation.  相似文献
