The quasi-elastic contribution of the nuclear inclusive electron scattering model developed in [A. Gil, J. Nieves, and E. Oset: Nucl. Phys. A 627 (1997) 543] is extended to the study of electroweak charged current induced nuclear reactions at intermediate energies of interest for future neutrino oscillation experiments. The model accounts for long-range nuclear (RPA) correlations, final state interaction and Coulomb corrections. RPA correlations are shown to play a crucial role in the whole range of neutrino energies, up to 500 MeV, studied in this work. Predictions for inclusive muon capture for different nuclei, and for the reactions 12C(ν μ , μ )X and 12C(ν e, e)X near threshold are also given. Presented by M. The electric form factor of the neutron GEn has been determined in double polarized exclusive 3 He(e,e'n) scattering in quasi–elastic kinematics by measuring asymmetries A , A of the cross section with respect to helicity reversal of the electron, with the nuclear spin being oriented perpendicular to the momentum transfer q in case of A and parallel in case of A. The experiment was performed at the 855 MeV c. w. microtron MAMI at Mainz. The degree of polarization of the electron beam and of the gaseous 3 He target were each about 50%. Scattered electrons and neutrons were detected in coincidence by detector arrays covering large solid angles. Quasi–elastic scattering events were reconstructed from the measured electron scattering angles ϑe, φe and the neutron momentum vector p n in the plane wave impulse approximation. We obtain the result <G En>(0.27 < Q2c2/GeV2 < 0.5)= 0.0334 ± 0.0033stat± 0.0028syst which is averaged over the indicated range of Q 2, the squared momentum transfer. This G En value is significantly smaller than measured from the D(e,e'n) reaction under similar kinematical conditions. To what extent final state interactions in 3He quench the G En result is subject of calculations currently in progress elsewhere. Received: 29 April 1999  相似文献

Plasma parameters in the upgraded Trimyx-M Galathea   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Results are presented from measurements of the plasma parameters in the upgraded Trimyx-M Galathea. After the barrier magnetic field and the energy of the injected hydrogen plasma bunch were increased to B bar ∼ 0.1 T and W 0 ≈ 200 J, respectively, the following plasma parameters were achieved: the density n ∼ 5 × 1013 cm−3, the plasma confinement time τ* = 800–900 μs, the elergy of the confined plasma W 1 ∼ 100 J, the ratio of the plasma pressure to the barrier magnetic pressure β 0 ∼ 0.2, the electron temperature T e ∼ 20 eV, and the ion temperature T i ∼ 2T e . The maximum time during which the plasma density decreased e-fold, τ p , was found to be 300 μs at B bar = 0.1 T, which agrees with the classical transport model.  相似文献

The process of reconstuction of the distribution profile of hole concentration in the p +n structure by the method of differential Hall measurements upon implantation of ions As+ (Е = 190 keV, D = 3.1014 cm-2, j = 0.025 μA/cm2) into epitaxial films Cd x Hg1–x Te for x ~ 0.2, with the initial electron concentration and mobility n = 1014 cm-3 and μ = 2∙105 cm2∙V–1∙s–1 is numerically simulated. The dependences of degree of reconstruction of the hole-concentration distribution profile on the depth of a shunting n-layer and magnitude of the magnetic field, at which the electrophysical parameters of the p +n structure are measured, are calculated. The dependence of the limiting magnetic field determining the magnetic-field range for measurements on the n-layer depth is found. It is shown that in calculations one should use the conduction values measured at the same magnetic fields as the Hall coefficients for determination of the holeconcentration distribution profile using the Petritz model.  相似文献

The formation of macroscopic ordered structures in the standing striations of a stationary glow discharge in Ne is observed. A Coulomb quasicrystal is formed by spherical glass particles with diameters of 50–63 μm and charge Z p~7·105 e. The interparticle distance is approximately 300 μm. This corresponds to a nonideality parameter Γ~5·104, which leads to crystallization in the Yukawa model. The factors leading to the formation of a quasicrystal in the striations are discussed. In this paper we report on inner ionization of Xen clusters (n = 55- 2171) in ultraintense Gaussian laser fields (peak intensity I = 1015- 1020 Wcm-2, pulse width τ= 25 fs, frequency 0.35 fs-1). The cluster inner ionization process is induced by the barrier suppression ionization (BSI) mechanism and by electron impact ionization (EII), which occurs sequentially with the BSI. We address electron impact ionization of clusters, which pertains to inelastic reactive processes of the high-energy (100 eV–1 keV per electron) nanoplasma. We utilized experimental data for the energy dependence of the electron impact ionization cross-sections of Xej+ (j = 1-10) ions, which were fit by an empirical three-parameter Lotz-type equation, to explore EII in clusters by molecular dynamics simulations. Information was obtained on the yields and time-resolved dynamics of the EII levels (i.e., number nimp of electrons per cluster atom) in the Xen clusters and their dependence on the laser intensity and cluster size. The relative long-time (t = 90 fs) yields for EII, nimp/nii (where nii is the total inner ionization yield) are rather low and increase with decreasing the laser intensity. In the intensity range I = 1015-1016 Wcm-2, nimp/nii = 0.21 for n = 2171 and nimp/nii = 0.09-0.14 for n = 459, while for I = 1018-1020 Wcm-2, nimp/nii = 0.01-0.05. The difference Δnimp between the EII yield at long time and at the termination of the laser pulse reflects on ionization dynamics by the nanoplasma when the laser pulse is switched off. For Xe2171 in the lower intensity domain, Δ nimp = 0.9 at I = 1015 Wcm-2 and Δnimp = 0.4 at 1016 Wcm-2, reflecting on EII by the persistent nanoplasma under “laser free” conditions, while in the higher intensity domain of I = 1017 - 1018 Wcm-2, Δnimp is negligibly small due to the depletion of the transient nanoplasma.  相似文献

The longitudinal nuclear spin relaxation in an effective magnetic field H e3 acting in a triply rotating coordinate system is recorded. Rotating and doubly rotating coordinate systems are employed for strong suppression of the secular nuclear dipole interactions in the first two orders and for separation of higher-order interactions (four-and five-spin). Experiments on protons in polycrystalline benzene showed that the contribution of such multispin dipole interactions to this relaxation can be observed selectively as a pronounced local minimum in the temperature dependence of the relaxation time. This contribution correponds to ultraslow molecular motions with rates ≃ γH e3≃2π(101−103) s−1 and can be employed to study such motions in detail, including for purposes of identification of the form of the motion. A new experiment is under preparation with the aim to improve considerably the present knowledge of the rate Λ s , which should be measured on a level of 1% or better, for the basic electroweak capture reaction of a negative muon on the free proton μp 1s n + νμ. The capture rate will be determined by measuring the lifetime of μ stopped in ultra pure hydrogen at 10 bar pressure and comparing it with the lifetime of the unbound μ+. A new experimental method was developed for this project which should allow measuring the μ lifetime with at least 10 ppm precision. The basic element of the detector is operating in the hydrogen gas time projection chamber (TPC) surrounded by multi-wire proportional chambers (MWPCs) and scintillator counters. The arrival times and trajectories of the incoming muons and the outgoing decay electrons are measured with this device providing effective suppression of background. Using the TPC as an active target, we can monitor on-line the protium contamination by impurities with a sensitivity better than 10−8. This can be done by detecting the charged products of the muon capture reaction on these impurities. It was demonstrated that the TPC and MWPCs can operate in pure hydrogen under 10 bar pressure providing gas gain up to 10 000. Results of spectroscopic investigations into plasma of a pulse-periodic strontium vapor laser operating in the superradiance mode on the infrared transition at λ = 6.45 μm are presented. The method of determining the electron temperature and concentration as well as the gas temperature – T e , n e , and T g – based on measuring the absolute intensities of some SrI and SrII and buffer gas (helium or neon) spectral lines is used. Time dependences of the line intensities during a current pulse (τ = 150 ns) and near afterglow (up to 3 μs) are obtained under conditions of non-equilibrium plasma ionization and recombination. The optical system collects radiation from the entire length of the plasma column by means of separating radial volume zones, includingthe central zone and the zone closer to the walls, with the monochromator slit. The results obtained allow us not only to calculate T e , n e , and T g values, but also to trace the spatiotemporal plasma evolution.  相似文献

The polarization operator of an axion in a degenerate gas of electrons occupying the ground-state Landau level in superstrong magnetic fields HH 0=m e 2 c 3/eℏ=4.41×1013 G is investigated in a model with a tree-level axion-electron coupling. It is shown that a dynamic axion mass, which can fall within the allowed range of values 10−5 eV≲m a≲102 eV, is generated under the conditions of strongly magnetized neutron stars. The conductance of doped n-GaAs films is studied experimentally as a function of magnetic field and temperature in strong magnetic fields right up to the quantum limit (ħωc = E F). The Hall conductance G xy is virtually independent of temperature T until the transverse conductance G xx is quite large compared with e 2/h. In strong fields, when G xx becomes comparable to e 2/h, G xy starts to depend on T. The difference between the conductances G xx at the two temperatures 4.2 and 0.35 K depends only weakly on the magnetic field H over a wide range of magnetic fields, while the conductances G xx themselves vary strongly. The results can be explained by quantum corrections to the conductance as a result of the electron-electron interaction in the diffusion channel. We consider axion formation processes in the synchrotron (e e a) and annihilation (e e +a) channels in a constant crossed field F μν Fμν=Fμν*F μν =0, which approximates constant fields of other configurations in the ultrarelativistic asymptotic limit. The probability and intensity of axion emission are obtained, and we analyze the energy and field asymptotics. A comparison with the characteristic neutrino channel yields the constraints on the axion mass and the energy scale for Peccei-Quinn symmetry breaking. The paper considers the effect of a magnetic field B on the transport of neutral composite particles, namely excitons, in weakly disordered two-dimensional (2D) systems. In the case of classical transport (when the interference of different paths is neglected), the magnetic field suppresses exciton transport, and the static diffusion constant D(B) monotonically drops with B. When quantum-mechanical corrections due to weak localization are taken into account, D(B) becomes a nonmonotonic function of B. In weak magnetic fields, where the magnetic length is much larger than the exciton Bohr radius, ℓB=(ℏc/eB)1/2a B =ε2/μe 2,a positive magnetodiffusion effect is predicted, i.e., the exciton mobility should increase with B. Results are presented from the first stage of studies on the passage of an electron beam with energy 100–500 eV in a magnetic field of 300–700 Oe through the curvilinear solenoid of the KRéL unit, the latter being a prototype of the closing segment of the Drakon stellarator system, in the plasma-beam discharge regime. The ion density at the end of the curvilinear part of the chamber, n i ≈8×108–1010 cm−3, the electron temperature T e ≈4–15 eV, and the positions at which the beam hits the target for different distances from it to the electron source are determined experimentally. The motion of the electron beam is computationally modeled with allowance for the space charge created by the beam and the secondary plasma. From a comparison of the experimentally measured trajectories and trajectories calculated for different values of the space charge, we have obtained an estimate for the unneutralized ion density of the order of 5×107 cm−3. The possibilities of current-sheet formation in two-dimensional magnetic fields with a null line as well as the characteristic features of the plasma dynamics under high initial pressure conditions (helium, P 0≈300 mtorr) are investigated for the first time. It is shown that current-sheet formation and efficient compression of the plasma into a sheet require that the magnetic field gradient be sufficiently large. A brightly emitting compact region with electron density N e∼9×1016 cm−3, an order of magnitude higher than the gas atom density, was observed to form at the center of the layer. Zh. éksp. Teor. The diffusivityD μ of positive muons (μ+) in the mixed state of superconducting high-purity, high-perfection niobium single crystals is investigated by measurements of the relaxation of the transverse muon spin polarization (μ+SR). The method makes use of the strong magnetic field gradients existing in the mixed state of Type-II superconductors and monitorsD μ through the variation of the magnetic field felt by the μ+ during their diffusion through the crystals. For μ+ near the centres of the flux lines inNb it givesD μ(4.6 K)=(8±2)·10−11m2S−1. The positive temperature coefficient ofD μ indicates that at liquid-helium temperatures the diffusivity of μ+ inNb is mainly due to phonon-assisted tunnelling processes.  相似文献

We report on the first observation and studies of a weak delocalizing logarithmic temperature dependence of the conductivity, which causes the conductivity of the 2D metal to increase as T decreases down to 16 mK. The prefactor of the logarithmic dependence is found to decrease gradually with density, to vanish at a critical density n c , 2∼2×1012 cm−2, and then to have the opposite sign at n>n c ,2. The second critical density sets the upper limit on the existence region of the 2D metal, whereas the conductivity at the critical point, G c ,2∼120e 2/h, sets an upper (low-temperature) limit on its conductivity. 2-(p-N,N-dimethylaminostyryl)benzoxazole (OS), 2-(p-N,N-dimethylaminostyryl)-benzothiazole (SS) and 2-(p-N,N-dimethylaminostyryl)naphtiazole (PS) were prepared and their absorption and fluorescence spectra were measured in various solvents at room temperature. On the basis of the solvatochromic behavior the ground state (μg) and excited state (μe) dipole moments of these pN,N-dimethylaminostyryl derivatives were evaluated. The dipole moments (μg and μe) were estimated from solvatochromic shifts of absorption and fluorescence spectra as function of the dielectric constant (ɛ) and refractive index (n) of applied solvents. The absorption spectra only slightly are affected by the solvent polarity in contrast to the fluorescence spectra that are highly solvatochromic and display a large Stokes shift. The analysis of the solvatochromic behavior of the fluorescence spectra as function of Δf (ɛ, n) revealed that the emission occurs from a high polarity excited state. The large dipole moment change along with the strongly red-shifted fluorescence, as the solvent polarity is increased, demonstrate the formation of an intramolecular charge transfer state (ICT). Compounds under the study were used as fluorescence probes for monitoring the kinetics of polymerization. The study on the changes in fluorescence intensity and spectroscopic shifts of studied compounds were carried out during thermally initiated polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and during photoinitiated polymerization of 2-ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)propane-1,3-diol triacrylate (TMPTA).  相似文献

The dependence of the magnetic moment n 0exp of samples of the system CuFe2−x CrxO4 (x=0.0, 0.2, 0.3, 1.0, 1.4, 1.6, and 2.0) on their Cr3+ content is examined here for the first time. It is found that the experimental values of the magnetic moment n 0exp are much smaller than the values calculated from the cation distribution obtained previously (n 0 theor). It is suggested that this relationship (n 0 theor>n 0 exp) is due to a decrease in the magnetic moments of the Cr3+ ions resulting both from pairing of the t 2g orbitals of these cations in the octahedral sublattice and from a transfer of spin density from the ligands to the e g orbitals of these ions. For compositions with x>1.0, the noncollinear magnetic structure also leads to an increase in the difference between n 0 theor and n 0exp. Fiz. Tverd.
