The results of an experimental and theoretical investigation of the interaction between a surface electric discharge and a supersonic air flow in a constant cross-section channel are given. The features of the generation of the surface discharge in the flow are described. A model of the interaction is proposed. The regime of gasdynamic screening of a mechanical obstacle on the channel wall is investigated. Data on the change in the main flow parameters as a result of the generation of a surface discharge are given. The experimental results are compared with the results of calculations based on a simplified model of the interaction.  相似文献

The laminar boundary layer behind a constant-speed shock wave moving through a dusty gas along a solid surface is studied. The Saffman lift force acting on a spherical particle in a gas boundary layer is taken into account. A method for calculating the density profile of dispersed phase near the wall is proposed and some numerical results are given. It is shown that behind the shock wave, there exists a curved thin layer where the density of particles is many times higher than the original one. This dust collection effect may be of essential importance to the problem of dust explosion in industry.  相似文献

An experimental study and a numerical simulation were conducted to investigate the mechanical and thermodynamic processes involved in the interaction between shock waves and low density foam. The experiment was done in a stainless shock tube (80 mm in inner diameter, 10 mm in wall thickness and 5 360 mm in length). The velocities of the incident and reflected compression waves in the foam were measured by using piezo-ceramic pressure sensors. The end-wall peak pressure behind the reflected wave in the foam was measured by using a crystal piezoelectric sensor. It is suggested that the high end-wall pressure may be caused by a rapid contact between the foam and the end-wall surface. Both open-cell and closed-cell foams with different length and density were tested. Through comparing the numerical and experimental end-wall pressure, the permeability coefficients α and β are quantitatively determined.  相似文献

Short-circuiting flow is an important secondary flow in gas cyclones, which has a negative impact on the separation performance. To improve the understanding of the short-circuiting flow and guide the optimization of gas cyclones, this paper presents a numerical study of a cyclone using computational fluid dynamics. Based on the steady flow field, three methods were adopted to investigate the formation mechanism and characteristics of the short-circuiting flow and particles. The temporal variation of the tracer species concentration distribution reveals that the formation mechanism of the short-circuiting flow is the squeeze between the airflows entering the annular space of the gas cyclone at different times. The short-circuiting flow region, distinguished through the spatial distribution of the moments of age, is characterized by a small mean age and a large coefficient of variation. The proportion of the short-circuiting particles increases with the increase of the inlet velocity only for small particles. But with the increase of particle size, the proportion of the short-circuiting particles decreases faster at higher inlet velocities, resulting in significant differences in collection efficiency curves.  相似文献

The effects of the side walls on the flow in ducts with suction and injection are examined. Three illustrative examples are given. The first example considers the effect of the side walls on the flow over a porous plate. The second example considers the flow between two parallel porous plates and the third example is devoted to the investigation of the flow in a rectangular duct with two porous walls. Exact solution of the governing equation using the no-slip boundary condition and an additional condition are obtained. The expression of the velocity, the volume flux and the vorticity are given. It is found that for large values of the cross-Reynolds number near the suction region the flow for a Newtonian fluid does not satisfy the boundary condition, but it does not behave in the same way for a second grade fluid. Three examples considered show that there are pronounced effects of the side walls on the flows of a second grade fluid in ducts with suction and injection.  相似文献

Aerodynamic experiments with arrays of conducting microtubes are performed, and their electric properties are determined. Sensitivity of microtubes located on the model surface to disturbances of the gas flow is revealed.
