Dependence of two-beam coupling gain and phase-shift of the signal beams on the frequency detuning for a coupled unidirectional ring resonators based on non-degenerate two-wave mixing in the photorefractive crystals have been investigated in details. The effects of various parameters characterizing the photorefractive medium such as frequency detuning, absorption strength, two-beam energy coupling strength and pump intensity of the external laser beams, on the two-beam coupling gain and phase-shift of the signal beams for a coupled UPRR have also been studied in details. It has been found that the photorefractive gain of the signal beam in the primary cavity of the coupled UPRR can be enhanced to the higher order by taking the lower value of the frequency detuning of the primary cavity which could exist at much lower value of the absorption strength of the crystal B. This higher value of photorefractive gains in the cavities are responsible for the strong coupling between the modes of the oscillations of the coupled UPRR.  相似文献

We propose a simple method for measuring the gain coefficient of two-beam coupling for photorefractive polymer film. To measure the gain coefficient, we attached a phase grating onto the photorefractive polymer film and made an interference pattern between the transmitted and diffracted beams in the photorefractive film by using an illuminating single beam. The gain coefficient values measured at various external fields by our method showed good agreement with those measured by a standard two-beam coupling method. Compared to standard two-beam coupling, this method exhibited fairly improved stability of the output signal to external factors such as human sounds and airstreams.  相似文献

本文从全息再现像的物像关系出发,对准像面情况下,像点随波长及参考光源扩展的变化进行了研究.阐明了利用散射线光源作参考光使全可见光范围内的像叠加在一起,产生消色像全息图的基本思想,并引入了消色像域的概念.考虑到点基元全息图尺寸及人眼瞳孔对成像光束的限制,白光再现时,可以获得清晰、明亮、具有一定景深和相当视场范围的消色再现像.  相似文献

针对输出耦合镜旋转调谐时输出光束方向变化问题,设计了一种光纤位置平移、而调谐输出光束方向不变的光纤激光器系统。运用光栅方程,分析了光纤平移的调谐机理;采用输出与反馈光束耦合模型,分析了输出增益线宽随光纤位置、光束半径的变化。理论分析表明:该光纤激光器可获得线宽小于0.2 nm的调谐激光输出。实验结果表明,该激光器在波长为1543.446 nm处获得的调谐输出功率最大,达到470 mW,计算的斜率效率为23.9 %;整个调谐区域达到36 nm,调谐范围内激光的3 dB线宽小于0.08 nm。  相似文献

We observe the photorefractivity without bias voltage or prepoling in a bifunctional photorefractive polymer. The maximum two-beam coupling gain is measured to be 126cm^-1 at zero bias voltage. The sample is considered to be poled by the photoinduced longitudinal electric field, which is formed due to the light intensity gradient along the light path. The expression of the electric field was deduced. The energy transfer direction between two writing beams and light intensity dependence of the two-beam coupling gain coefficient is predicted to be consistent with the experimental results. Furthermore, the dependence of the two-beam coupling gain coefficient on external applied electrical field is measured and this experiment verifies the existence of the photoinduced longitudinal electric field.  相似文献

Considerable improvement of a transient two-beam coupling gain is reported for Sn(2)P(2)S(6), a photorefractive crystal that possesses two types of movable charge carrier. A gain enhancement occurs if the phase difference of the interacting beams is abruptly changed to pi. Enhancement is also achieved with periodic phase variations of zero and pi between two discrete states at modulation frequencies lower than the smallest of two reciprocal characteristic times of the space-charge formation.  相似文献

The dependence of the effective gain on the incident angle of the beams and on the initial beam intensity ratio is studied in the experiment of degenerate two-wave mixing (TWM) in a reflection geometry with photorefractive Bi12GeO20 (BGO) crystals. A saturation value of the effective coupling constant ¦g¦-0.4 cm–1 is obtained. In contrast to TWM operated in the drift mode (i.e. with a nonzero electric field applied to the crystal), for TWM operated in the diffusion mode (zero external electric field) as is our case, beam coupling is reduced by moving the crystal or the interference fringes at a constant speed. At high moving speeds, complete beam decoupling can be reached. A comparison between the theoretical and measured dependence of the effective gain on the moving speed is also made. Using this technique, complete isolation of two intersecting coherent beams inside a nonlinear medium can be achieved.  相似文献

Wave equations describing the non-linear two-beam coupling have been solved and expressions for the gain of the two beams in the photorefractive crystals have been derived. In case of the degenerate two-beam coupling, the gain depends upon the crystal thickness, coupling coefficient, absorption coefficient and the input intensity ratio. The effect of these parameters on the gain has been studied in details. In case of non-degenerate two-beam coupling the gain not only depends upon crystal thickness, coupling coefficient, absorption coefficient and the input intensity ratio but also on the response time of the photorefractive medium. This response time is the function of concentration ratio. The influence of oscillation frequency shift, concentration ratio on the gain for the non-degenerate two-beam coupling has also been studied.  相似文献

We determine the constraints an ABCD optical system must verify to achieve, at the focal region, broadband waves with compensated spatial dispersion either along the optical axis, called on-axis isodiffracting fields, or in the lateral direction, here named in-plane isodiffracting beams. “四靶串接”类氖锗软X光激光趋向饱和增益的理论研究   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
介绍了“四靶串接”设计思想,继对接方式之后,又提出了顺接方式来提高X光激光增益,使四靶总长度达到5.6cm。我们研制了程序系列来模拟这一实验,直接给出测点处的X光激光的强度。先用上轮“双靶对接”实验结果检验我们的程序系列,使得23.2nm激光线的结果与实验数据相符合,再用它模拟“四靶串接”实验。在实验之前,对各靶之间距离和角度,以及这些数据对实验结果的敏感程度作了预估,用以指导实验。实验结果证明理论模拟是正确的。23.2nm和23.6nm两条激光线已明显趋于饱和,其小讯号增益长度积GL分别达到18.3和17.6,有效GL分别达到16.4和15.7。X光激光的发散角已减小到3~4mrad,超过美国利弗莫尔实验室(LLNL)已发表的最好结果。  相似文献

One main function of short pulses is to concentrate energy in time and space [1]. The use of refractive lenses allows us to concentrate energy in a small volume of focusing around the focal point of the lens. When using refractive lenses, there are three effects that affect the concentration of energy around the focal point of the lens. These are the group velocity dispersion (GVD), the propagation time difference (PTD), and the aberrations of the lens. In this paper, we study lenses which are diffraction limited so that the monochromatic aberrations are negligible; the group velocity dispersion and the propagation time difference are the main effects affecting the spreading of the pulse at the focus. We will show that for 100-fs pulses the spatial spreading is larger than the temporal spreading of the pulse. It is already known that the effect of spatial spreading of the pulse due to PTD can be reduced by using achromatic optics. We use the theory proposed by A. Vaughan to analyze simple lenses and normal achromatic doublets, where normal means doublets that we can buy from catalogs. We then use the Vaughan theory to design achromatic doublets in phase and group, which produce no spatial spreading of the pulse, i.e., PTD = 0, when the doublet is designed for the carrier of the pulse. We compare these phase and group achromatic doublets with normal achromatic doublets. Finally, we show that apochromatic optics can give a much better correction of PTD than using normal achromatic doublets.  相似文献

This Letter presents an investigation of the excitation of an upper hybrid wave (UHW) by cross focusing of two intense laser beams in a collisionless hot magnetoplasma, when relativistic and ponderomotive nonlinearities are operative. The electric vectors of the two beams are polarized along uniform static magnetic field and the beams propagate perpendicular to the static magnetic field. Analytical expressions for the beam width of the laser beams, electric vector and power of the excited UHW and energy gain have been obtained. The UHW generation at the difference frequency and particle acceleration has also been studied. The nonlinear coupling between intense laser beams and UHW is so strong that UHW gets excited and a large fraction of the laser beam energy gets transferred to UHW and this UHW accelerates electrons. It has been shown that the presence of a magnetic field affects significantly the power of the UHW and energy gain by the electron in the presence of the UHW.  相似文献

The steady-state amplification of light beam during two-wave mixing in photorefractive materials has been analysed in the strong nonlinear regime. The oscillation conditions for unidirectional ring resonator have been studied. The signal beam can be amplified in the presence of material absorption, provided the gain due to the beam coupling is large enough to overcome the cavity losses. Such amplification is responsible for the oscillations. The gain bandwidth is only a few Hz. In spite of such an extremely narrow bandwidth, unidirectional oscillation can be observed easily at any cavity length in ring resonators by using photorefractive crystals as the medium and this can be explained in terms of the photorefractive phase-shift. The presence of such a phase-shift allows the possibility of the non-reciprocal steady-state transfer of energy between the two light beams. Dependence of gain bandwidth on coupling constant, absorption coefficient of the material’s cavity length (crystal length) and modulation ratio have also been studied.   相似文献

A systematic study about the production of secondary beams in 95MeV/u 12C+Be,Cu and An targets was performed by using the GANIL doubly achromatic spectrometer LISE.The maximum values of the secondary beam production calculated by programs LISE and INTENSITY are in agreement with the experimental results for the secondary beams near the β stability line.However,the calculations are larger than the experimental results for the secondary beams far from the β stability line.The optimum target thickness for the production of secondary beams corresponds to about 30% beam energy loss in the target.Beryllium target was found to offer higher production for all the secondary beams than copper and gold targets.  相似文献

The performance of amorphous organic photorefractive materials in holographic two-beam coupling experiments in the typical tilted geometry was found to be asymmetric with respect to the applied electric field direction. For one field direction, light is coupled into the polymer layer and can be detected on the side of the devices. For the other, the originally Gaussian-shaped writing beams show a shoulder or even split into two. The strength of the asymmetry depends on the diameter of the beams writing the hologram. We demonstrate that this effect is due to beam fanning. As a result of the fanning, the apparent photorefractive gain coefficients take on unphysical values.  相似文献

A superconducting linear accelerator (LINAC) to boost the energy of the heavy ion beams from the 14 UD pelletron accelerator at Mumbai is under development. The booster is based on quarter wave resonators (QWR) coated with lead which is superconducting at liquid helium temperature. The operating frequency is 150 MHz. Four resonators each are mounted in a cryostat module built indigenously. A total of seven such modules arranged in two arms with an isochronous and achromatic beam bend in the middle comprises the full LINAC. The transverse focusing of the beam through the LINAC is carried out using periodic quadrupole doublet magnets operating at room temperature. The present status of the project is described.  相似文献

Diffractive axicons are optical components producing achromatic nondiffracting beams. They thus produce a focal line rather than a focal point for classical lenses. This gives the interesting property of a long focal depth. We show that this property can be used to design a simple imaging system with a linear variable zoom by using and translating a diffractive axicon as the only optical component.  相似文献
