Re(I) carbonyl-diimine complexes [Re(L-AA)(CO)(3)(N,N)](+) (N,N = bpy, phen) containing an aromatic amino acid (AA), phenylalanine (Phe), tyrosine (Tyr), or tryptophan (Trp), linked to Re by a pyridine-amido or imidazole-amido ligand L have been synthesized and their excited-state properties investigated by nanosecond time-resolved IR (TRIR) and emission spectroscopy. Near-UV optical excitation populates a Re(I)(CO)(3)→N,N (3)MLCT excited state *[Re(II)(L-AA)(CO)(3)(N,N(?-))](+). Decay to the ground state (50-300 ns lifetime) is the only excited-state deactivation process observed in the case of Phe and Tyr complexes, whereas the Trp-containing species undergo a Trp(indole)→*Re(II) electron transfer (ET) producing a charge-separated (CS) state, [Re(I)(L-Trp(?+))(CO)(3)(N,N(?-))](+). The ET occurs with a 8-40 ns lifetime depending on L, N,N, and the solvent. The CS state is characterized by ν(CO) IR bands shifted to lower wavenumbers from their respective ground-state positions and two bands at 1278 and 1497 cm(-1) tentatively attributed to Trp(?+). The amido bridge is affected by both the MLCT excitation and the subsequent ET, manifested by the shifts and intensity changes of the amide-I IR band at about 1680 cm(-1). The CS state decays to the ground state by a N,N(?-)→Trp(?+) back-ET the rates of which are comparable to those of the forward ET, 30-60 ns. This study independently demonstrates that Trp can act as an electron-hopping intermediate in photodriven ET systems based on Re-labeled proteins and supramolecules. Photoinduced ET in Trp-containing Re complexes also can be used to generate Trp(?+) and investigate its spectral properties and reactivity.  相似文献

Near-UV irradiation of structurally characterized [Re(I)(CO)3(1,10-phenanthroline)(Q107H)](W48F/Y72F/H83Q/Y108W)AzM(II) [Az = Pseudomonas aeruginosa azurin, M = Cu, Zn]/[Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2 produces a tryptophan radical (W108*) with unprecedented kinetic stability. After rapid formation (k = 2.8 x 106 s-1), the radical persists for more than 5 h at room temperature in the folded ReAzM(II) structure. The absorption spectrum of ReAz(W108*)M(II) exhibits maxima at 512 and 536 nm. Oxidation of K4[Mo(CN)8] by ReAz(W108*)Zn(II) places the W108*/W108 reduction potential in the protein above 0.8 V vs NHE.  相似文献

Novel dipicolinate complex of copper(II) ion, [Cu(dmp)(dpc)]·0.8H(2)O [dmp: 2,6-pyridinedimethanol; dpc: dipicolinate or pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate], has been prepared and fully characterized by single crystal X-ray structure determination. The central copper(II) ion is bonded to dpc and dmp ligands through pyridine nitrogen atom together with two oxygen atom, forming the distorted octahedral geometry. The complex molecules, connected via O-H···O hydrogen bonds, form a supramolecular structure. H(2)dpc, [Cu(dpc)(H(2)O)(3)] and [Cu(dmp)(dpc)]·0.8H(2)O were screened for antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria and yeast. H(2)dpc and [Cu(dpc)(H(2)O)(3)] exhibited antibacterial and antifungal activity, while [Cu(dmp)(dpc)]·0.8H(2)O exhibited activity only for Gram-positive bacteria. The geometry optimization and EPR parameters were carried out using the following unrestricted hybrid density functionals: LSDA, BPV86, B3LYP, B3PW91, MPW1PW91, PBEPBE and HCTH. Although the supramolecular interactions have some influences on the molecular geometry in solid state phase, calculated data show that the predicted geometries can reproduce the structural parameters. The electronic station in the frontier orbitals of the copper complex calculated from the experimental data is compared to the results of time-depended DFT calculations with the polarizable continuum model. Calculated vibrational frequencies are consistent with the experimental IR data.  相似文献

Ultrafast excited-state structural dynamics of [Cu(I)(dmp)(2)](+) (dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) have been studied to identify structural origins of transient spectroscopic changes during the photoinduced metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) transition that induces an electronic configuration change from Cu(I) (3d(10)) to Cu(II) (3d(9)). This study has important connections with the flattening of the Franck-Condon state tetrahedral geometry and the ligation of Cu(II)* with the solvent observed in the thermally equilibrated MLCT state by our previous laser-initiated time-resolved X-ray absorption spectroscopy (LITR-XAS) results. To better understand the structural photodynamics of Cu(I) complexes, we have studied both [Cu(I)(dmp)(2)](+) and [Cu(I)(dpp)(2)](+) (dpp = 2,9-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline) in solvents with different dielectric constants, viscosities, and thermal diffusivities by transient absorption spectroscopy. The observed spectral dynamics suggest that a solvent-independent inner-sphere relaxation process is occurring despite the large amplitude motions due to the flattening of the tetrahedral coordinated geometry. The singlet fluorescence dynamics of photoexcited [Cu(I)(dmp)(2)](+) were measured in the coordinating solvent acetonitrile, using the fluorescence upconversion method at different emission wavelengths. At the bluest emission wavelengths, a prompt fluorescence lifetime of 77 fs is attributed to the excited-state deactivation processes due to the internal conversion and intersystem crossing at the Franck-Condon state geometry. The differentiation between the prompt fluorescence lifetime with the tetrahedral Franck-Condon geometry and that with the flattened tetrahedral geometry uncovers an unexpected ultrafast flattening process in the MLCT state of [Cu(I)(dmp)(2)](+). These results provide guidance for future X-ray structural studies on ultrafast time scale, as well as for synthesis toward its applications in solar energy conversion.  相似文献

Alkoxo complexes [Re(OR)(CO)(3)(N-N)] (R=Me, Et, tBu; N-N=2,2'-bipyridine (bipy), 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'bipyridine (bipy'), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen)) and [M(OMe)(eta(3)-allyl)(CO)(2)(phen)] (M=Mo, W) have been synthesized in good yields and using mild conditions by the reaction of sodium alkoxides with [Re(OTf)(CO)(3)(N-N)] and [MCl(eta(3)-allyl)(CO)(2)(phen)] precursors. These have been characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy as well as by X-ray diffraction for [W(OMe)(eta(3)-allyl)(CO)(2)(phen)] (10). The reactions of the molybdenum and rhenium alkoxo complexes with isocyanates, R'NCO, yield [L(n)M[N(R')C(O)OR]] complexes; the carbamate ligand, which results from an R'NCO insertion into the Mbond;OR bond, is monodentate through the nitrogen atom. The solid-state structures of Mo and Re examples have been determined by X-ray diffraction. The geometry around the carbamate nitrogen of these compounds is planar, and the distances indicate delocalization of the nitrogen lone pair involving mainly the carbonyl groups. Experiments carried out with the Re complexes showed that aryl isocyanates are more reactive than their alkyl counterparts, and that bulky R' groups led to slow rates of insertion. Insertion reactions were also observed with isothiocyanates, although here it is the Sbond;C bond that inserts into the Mbond;OR bond, and the resulting ligand is bound to the metal by sulfur. Competition experiments with the Re compounds indicate that isocyanates are more reactive than isothiocyanates towards the Rebond;OR bonds. Tetracyanoethylene inserts into the Rebond;OMe bond of [Re(OMe)(CO)(3)(bipy')], forming a complex with a 2-methoxytetracyanoethyl ligand; the structure of which was determined by X-ray diffraction. The formation of the xanthato complex [Re(SC(S)OtBu)(CO)(3)(bipy)] (20) by reaction of [Re(OTf)(CO)(3)(bipy)] with CS(2) and NaOtBu, but not by the reaction of CS(2) and [Re(OtBu)(CO)(3)(bipy)] (5 a), suggests that the insertion reactions do not take place by ionization of the alkoxo complexes to give the free alkoxide ion.  相似文献

Copper(I) and rhenium(I) complexes [Cu(PPh(3))(2)(dppz-11-COOEt)]BF(4), [Cu(PPh(3))(2)(dppz-11-Br)]BF(4), [Re(CO)(3)Cl(dppz-11-COOEt)] and [Re(CO)(3)Cl(dppz-11-Br)] (dppz-11-COOEt = dipyrido-[3,2a:2',3'c]phenazine-11-carboxylic ethyl ester, dppz-11-Br = 11-bromo-dipyrido[3,2a:2',3'c]-phenazine) have been studied using Raman, resonance Raman, and transient resonance Raman (TR(2)) spectroscopy, in conjunction with computational chemistry. DFT (B3LYP) frequency calculations with a 6-31G(d) basis set for the ligands and copper(I) centers and an effective core potential (LANL2DZ) for rhenium in the rhenium(I) complexes show close agreement with the experimental nonresonance Raman spectra. Modes that are phenazine-based, phenanthroline-based, and delocalized across the entire ligand structure were identified. The nature of the absorbing chromophores at 356 nm for ligands and complexes was established using resonance Raman spectroscopy in concert with vibrational assignments from calculations. This analysis reveals that the dominant chromophore for the complexes measured at 356 nm is ligand-centered (LC), except for [Re(CO)(3)Cl(dppz-11-Br)], which appears to have additional chromophores at this wavelength. Calculations on the reduced complexes, undertaken to model the metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excited state, show that the reducing electron occupies a ligand MO that is delocalized across the ligand structure. Resonance Raman spectra (lambda(exc) = 514.5 nm) of the reduced rhenium complexes show a similar spectral pattern to that observed in [Re(CO)(3)Cl(dppz)](*-); the measured bands are therefore attributed to ligand radical anion modes. These bands lie at 1583-1593 cm(-1) for [Re(CO)(3)Cl(dppz-11-COOEt)] and 1611 cm(-1) for [Re(CO)(3)Cl(dppz-11-Br)]. The thermally equilibrated excited states are examined using nanosecond-TR(2) spectroscopy (lambda(exc) = 354.7 nm). The TR(2) spectra of the ligands provide spectral signatures for the (3)LC state. A band at 1382 cm(-1) is identified as a marker for the (3)LC states of both ligands. TR(2) spectra of the copper and rhenium complexes of dppz-11-Br show this (3)LC band, but it is not prominent in the spectra of [Cu(PPh(3))(2)(dppz-11-COOEt)](+) and [Re(CO)(3)Cl(dppz-11-COOEt)]. Calculations suggest that the lowest triplet states of both of the rhenium(I) complexes and [Cu(PPh(3))(2)(dppz-11-Br)](+) are metal-to-ligand charge transfer in nature, but the lowest triplet state of [Cu(PPh(3))(2)(dppz-11-COOEt)](+) appears to be LC in character.  相似文献

The photochemistry and photophysics of the cationic molecular dyad, 5-{4-[rhenium(I)tricarbonylpicoline-4-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine-4'-carboxyamidyl]phenyl}-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrinatopalladium(II) ([Re(CO)(3)(Pic)Bpy-PdTPP][PF(6)]) have been investigated. The single crystal X-ray structure for the thiocyanate analogue, [Re(CO)(3)(NCS)Bpy-PdTPP], exhibits torsion angles of 69.1(9)°, 178.1(7)°, and 156.8(9)° between porphyrin plane, porphyrin-linked C(6)H(4) group, amide moiety, and Bpy, respectively. Steady-state photoexcitation (λ(ex) = 520 nm) of [Re(CO)(3)(Pic)Bpy-PdTPP][PF(6)] in dimethylformamide (DMF) results in substitution of Pic by bromide at the Re(I)Bpy core. When [Re(CO)(3)(Pic)Bpy-PdTPP][PF(6)] is employed as a photocatalyst for the reduction of CO(2) to CO in DMF/NEt(3) solution with λ(ex) > 420 nm, 2 turnovers (TNs) CO are formed after 4 h. If instead, a two-component mixture of PdTPP sensitizer and mononuclear [Re(CO)(3)(Pic)Bpy][PF(6)] catalyst is used, 3 TNs CO are formed. In each experiment however, CO only forms after a slight induction period and during the concurrent photoreduction of the sensitizer to a Pd(II) chlorin species. Palladium(II) meso-tetraphenylchlorin, the hydrogenated porphyrin analogue of PdTPP, has been synthesized independently and can be substituted for PdTPP in the two-component system with [Re(CO)(3)(Pic)Bpy][PF(6)], forming 9 TNs CO. An intramolecular electron transfer process for the dyad is supported by cyclic voltammetry and steady-state emission studies, from which the free energy change was calculated to be ΔG(ox)* = -0.08 eV. Electron transfer from Pd(II) porphyrin to Re(I) tricarbonyl bipyridine in [Re(CO)(3)(Pic)Bpy-PdTPP][PF(6)] was monitored using time-resolved infrared (TRIR) spectroscopy in the ν(CO) region on several time scales with excitation at 532 nm. Spectra were recorded in CH(2)Cl(2) with and without NEt(3). Picosecond TRIR spectroscopy shows rapid growth of bands assigned to the π-π* excited state (2029 cm(-1)) and to the charge-separated state (2008, 1908 cm(-1)); these bands decay and the parent recovers with lifetimes of 20-50 ps. Spectra recorded on longer time scales (ns, μs, and seconds) show the growth and decay of further species with ν(CO) bands indicative of electron transfer to Re(Bpy).  相似文献

The complex Re(bpy)(CO)3CN is an excited state oxidant of tyrosine upon deprotonation of the tyrosyl phenol. A series of Re(bpy-FnY)(CO)3CN complexes ([Re]-FnY: [Re]-Y, [Re]-3-FY, [Re]-3,5-F2Y, [Re]-2,3-F2Y, [Re]-2,3,5-F3Y, [Re]-2,3,6-F3Y, and [Re]-F4Y) have been prepared so as to vary the FnY*/FnY- reduction potential and thus the driving force for electron transfer in this system. Time-resolved emission and nanosecond absorption spectroscopies have been used to measure the rates for charge separation, CS, and charge recombination, CR, for each complex. A driving force analysis reveals that CS is well described by Marcus' theory for ET, is strongly driving force dependent (activated), and occurs in the normal region for ET. CR, on the other hand, is weakly driving force dependent (near activationless) and occurs in the inverted region for ET. These data demonstrate that fluorotyrosines will be powerful probes for unraveling charge transport mechanisms in enzymes that utilize tyrosyl radicals.  相似文献

Novel polynuclear complexes of rhenium and ruthenium containing PCA (PCA = 4-pyridinecarboxaldehyde azine or 4-pyridinealdazine or 1,4-bis(4-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene) as a bridging ligand have been synthesized as PF(6-) salts and characterized by spectroscopic, electrochemical, and photophysical techniques. The precursor mononuclear complex, of formula [Re(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)(PCA)](+) (Me(2)bpy = 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine), does not emit at room temperature in CH(3)CN, and the transient spectrum found by flash photolysis at lambda(exc) = 355 nm can be assigned to a MLCT (metal-to-ligand charge transfer) excited state [(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)Re(II)(PCA(-))](+), with lambda(max) = 460 nm and tau < 10 ns. The spectral properties of the related complexes [[Re(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)}(2)(PCA)](2+), [Re(CO)(3)(PCA)(2)Cl], and [Re(CO)(3)Cl](3)(PCA)(4) confirm the existence of this low-energy MLCT state. The dinuclear complex, of formula [(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)Re(I)(PCA)Ru(II)(NH(3))(5)](3+), presents an intense absorption in the visible spectrum that can be assigned to a MLCT d(pi)(Ru) --> pi(PCA); in CH(3)CN, the value of lambda (max) = 560 nm is intermediate between those determined for [Ru(NH(3))(5)(PCA)](2+) (lambda(max) = 536 nm) and [(NH(3))(5)Ru(PCA)Ru(NH(3))(5)](4+) (lambda(max) = 574 nm), indicating a significant decrease in the energy of the pi-orbital of PCA. The mixed-valent species, of formula [(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)Re(I)(PCA)Ru(III)(NH(3))(5)](4+), was obtained in CH(3)CN solution, by bromine oxidation or by controlled-potential electrolysis at 0.8 V in a OTTLE cell of the [Re(I),Ru(II)] precursor; the band at lambda(max) = 560 nm disappears completely, and a new band appears at lambda(max) = 483 nm, assignable to a MMCT band (metal-to-metal charge transfer) Re(I) --> Ru(III). By using the Marcus-Hush formalism, both the electronic coupling (H(AB)) and the reorganization energy (lambda) for the metal-to-metal intramolecular electron transfer have been calculated. Despite the considerable distance between both metal centers (approximately 15.0 Angstroms), there is a moderate coupling that, together with the comproportionation constant of the mixed-valent species [(NH(3))(5)Ru(PCA)Ru(NH(3))(5)](5+) (K(c) approximately 10(2), in CH(3)CN), puts into evidence an unusual enhancement of the metal-metal coupling in the bridged PCA complexes. This effect can be accounted for by the large extent of "metal-ligand interface", as shown by DFT calculations on free PCA. Moreover, lambda is lower than the driving force -DeltaG degrees for the recombination charge reaction [Re(II),Ru(II)] --> [Re(I),Ru(III)] that follows light excitation of the mixed-valent species. It is then predicted that this reverse reaction falls in the Marcus inverted region, making the heterodinuclear [Re(I),Ru(III)] complex a promising model for controlling the efficiency of charge-separation processes.  相似文献

New classes of tunable rhenium(I) diimine luminophores with formula of [Re(CO)(CNR)(3)(N-N)]PF(6) and [Re(CO)(L(x))(CNC(6)H(4)Cl-4)(2)(1,10-phenanthroline)]PF(6), (R = C(6)H(5), 4-BrC(6)H(4), 4-ClC(6)H(4), 4-MeOC(6)H(4), 2,6-(i)Pr(2)C(6)H(3); N-N = 1,10-phenanthroline, 5,6-dibromo-1,10-phenanthroline, 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine; L(x) = MeCN, pyridine and PPh(3)) have been synthesized. Different synthetic routes including photo-ligand substitution and thermal carbonyl ligand substitution through the oxidative decarbonylation with trimethyl amine N-oxide, for the facial and meridional isomeric forms of [Re(CO)(CNR)(3)(N-N)]PF(6) were investigated. On the basis of these synthetic strategies, different ligand modification and functionalization of the rhenium(I) diimine luminophores with tailored excited state properties could be readily achieved. The structures of both facial and meridional conformations of [Re(CO)(CNR)(3)(N-N)]PF(6) and the complex precursors fac-[Re(CO)(3)(CNC(6)H(3)(i)Pr-2,6)(3)]OTf were determined by X-ray crystallography. These complexes display an orange to red (3)MLLCT [dπ(Re) → π*(N-N)] phosphorescence at room temperature. Detailed photophysical investigations revealed that the physical, photophysical, electrochemical, and excited state properties can be fine-tuned and tailored through the modifications of the substituents on isocyanide or diimine ligands.  相似文献

New mono- and dinuclear rhenium(I) tricarbonyls, of formulas [Re(bpy)(CO)3(PCA)]+ (1), [(bpy)(CO)3Re(I)(PCA)Re(I)(CO)3(bpy)]2+ (2), and [(bpy)(CO)3Re(I)(PCA)Ru(II)(NH3)5]3+ (3) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, PCA = 4-pyridinecarboxaldehydeazine), have been synthesized as PF6- salts and characterized by spectroscopic, electrochemical, and photophysical techniques. These species do not emit at room temperature in CH(3)CN; however, in aqueous solutions, a decrease in pH induces luminescence in all of them, due to protonation of one of the N atoms of the -C=N-N=C- chain of PCA, as indicated by the pKa values of the ground states, obtained by absorption measurements, which are ca. 3 orders of magnitude lower than the pKa value of the pyridine N of PCA in complex 1. On the other hand, the values of pKa* of the excited states, obtained by emission measurements, of complexes 1 and 2 are similar (pKa* = 2.7 +/- 0.1 at I = 0.1 M) and higher than those of the corresponding ground states. At low values of pH, chemical decomposition takes place rapidly in complex 3, but not in 1 and 2, supporting the possible use of these latter species as luminescent sensors of pH. The heterodinuclear complex, of formula [(bpy)(CO)3Re(I)(PCA)Ru(III)(NH3)5]4+, was obtained by bromine oxidation of the [Re(I), Ru(II)] precursor in CH3CN solution; from spectral and electrochemical measurements, the recombination charge-transfer reaction [Re(II), Ru(II) ] --> [Re(I), Ru(III)], which occurs after photoexcitation, is predicted to lie in the Marcus inverted region.  相似文献

An oxidation of cluster anion [Re(12)CS(17)(CN)(6)](6-) by H(2)O(2) in water has been investigated. It was shown that selective two-step oxidation of bridging μ(2)-S-ligands in trigonal prismatic unit {Re(3)(μ(6)-C)(μ(2)-S)(3)Re(3)} takes place. The first stage runs rapidly, whereas the speed of the second stage depends on intensity of ultraviolet irradiation of the reaction mixture. Each stage of the reaction is accompanied by a change in the solution's color. In the first stage of the oxidation, the cluster anion [Re(12)CS(14)(SO(2))(3)(CN)(6)](6-) is produced, in which all bridging S-ligands are turned into bridging SO(2)-ligands. The second stage of the oxidation leads to formation of the anion [Re(12)CS(14)(SO(2))(2)(SO(3))(CN)(6)](6-), in which one of the SO(2)-ligands underwent further oxidation forming the bridging SO(3)-ligand. Seven compounds containing these anions were synthesized and characterized by a set of different methods, elemental analyses, IR and UV/vis spectroscopy, and quantum-chemical calculations. Structures of some compounds based on similar cluster anions, [Cu(NH(3))(5)](3)[Re(12)CS(14)(SO(2))(3)(CN)(6)]·9.5H(2)O, [Ni(NH(3))(6)](3)[Re(12)CS(14)(SO(2))(3)(CN)(6)]·4H(2)O, and [Cu(NH(3))(5)](2.6)[Re(12)CS(14)(SO(2))(3)(CN)(6)](0.6)[{Re(12)CS(14)(SO(2))(2)(SO(3))(CN)(5)(μ-CN)}{Cu(NH(3))(4)}](0.4)·5H(2)O, were investigated by X-ray analysis of single crystals.  相似文献

The electron self-exchange rate constants of blue copper model complexes, [(-)-sparteine-N,N'](maleonitriledithiolato-S,S')copper ([Cu(SP)(mmt)])(0/)(-), bis(2,9-dimethy-1,10-phenanthroline)copper ([Cu(dmp)(2)](2+/+)), and bis(1,10-phenanthroline)copper ([Cu(phen)(2)](2+/+)) have been determined from the rate constants of electron transfer from a homologous series of ferrocene derivatives to the copper(II) complexes in light of the Marcus theory of electron transfer. The resulting electron self-exchange rate constant increases in the order: [Cu(phen)(2)](2+/+) < [Cu(SP)(mmt)](0/)(-) < [Cu(dmp)(2)](2+/+), in agreement with the order of the smaller structural change between the copper(II) and copper(I) complexes due to the distorted tetragonal geometry. The dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) were constructed using the copper complexes as redox couples to compare the photoelectrochemical responses with those using the conventional I(3)(-)/I(-) couple. The light energy conversion efficiency (eta) values under illumination of simulated solar light irradiation (100 mW/cm(2)) of DSSCs using [Cu(phen)(2)](2+/+), [Cu(dmp)(2)](2+/+), and [Cu(SP)(mmt)](0/)(-) were recorded as 0.1%, 1.4%, and 1.3%, respectively. The maximum eta value (2.2%) was obtained for a DSSC using the [Cu(dmp)(2)](2+/+) redox couple under the light irradiation of 20 mW/cm(2) intensity, where a higher open-circuit voltage of the cell was attained as compared to that of the conventional I(3)(-)/I(-) couple.  相似文献

The luminescent complexes of triphenylphosphine and two interesting aminomethylphosphines: P(CH(2)N(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(3))(3) and P(CH(2)N(CH(2)CH(2))(2)O)(3) with copper(I) iodide and 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmp): [CuI(dmp)PPh(3)], [CuI(dmp)P(CH(2)N(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(3))(3)] and [CuI(phen)P(CH(2)N(CH(2)CH(2))(2)O)(3)] are presented in this work. These complexes were characterized in solution by means of NMR spectroscopy and their structures were crystallographically determined in the solid state. All complexes crystallize as the discrete dimers bound by π-stacking interactions between dmp rings. The coordination geometry about the Cu(I) centre is pseudo-tetrahedral showing small flattening and large rocking distortions. The investigated compounds exhibit intense orange photoluminescence in the solid state (emission peaks at r.t.: λ(max) = 588-592 nm; τ = 1.7-2.2 and 6.4-10.0 μs; at 77 K: λ(max) = 605-612 nm; τ = 4.8-6.5 and 32-47 μs), which is several orders higher than the luminescence of the analogous complexes with 1,10-phenanthroline (phen). Electronic and structural properties of the [CuI(dmp/phen)PR(3)] complexes were characterized using DFT methods to interpret their photophysics. On the basis of TDDFT calculations the broad CT bands observed in UV-Vis spectra are interpreted as the two mixed transitions from σ(CuI) bond with a small admixture of σ(CuP) bond to π* phen or dmp ligand: (MX,MPR(3))LCT, while the emissions most probably occur from two triplet states which are in thermal equilibrium.  相似文献

The pseudotetrahedral complexes [Cu(NN)(DPEphos)]BF(4), where DPEphos = bis[2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl]ether and NN = 1,10-phenanthroline (1), 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (2), 2,9-di-n-butylphenanthroline (3), or two dimethylcyanamides (4), and NiCl(2)(DPEphos) (5) have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography and their solution properties examined by use of a combination of cyclic voltammetry, NMR spectroscopy, and electronic absorption spectroscopy. Complexes 1-4 possess a reversible Cu(II)/Cu(I) couple at potentials upward of +1.2 V versus Ag/AgCl. Compounds 1-3 exhibit extraordinary photophysical properties. In room-temperature dichloromethane solution, the charge-transfer excited state of the dmp (dbp) derivative exhibits an emission quantum yield of 0.15 (0.16) and an excited-state lifetime of 14.3 mus (16.1 mus). Coordinating solvents quench the charge-transfer emission to a degree, but the photoexcited dmp complex 2 retains a lifetime of over a microsecond in acetone, methanol, and acetonitrile.  相似文献

The molecular structure and dynamics of the photoexcited metal-to-ligand-charge-transfer (MLCT) state of [Cu(I)(dmp)(2)](+), where dmp is 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, in acetonitrile have been investigated by time-domain pump-probe X-ray absorption spectroscopy, femtosecond optical transient spectroscopy, and density functional theory (DFT). The time resolution for the excited state structural determination was 100 ps, provided by single X-ray pulses from a third generation synchrotron source. The copper ion in the thermally equilibrated MLCT state has the same oxidation state as the corresponding copper(II) complex in the ground state and was found to be penta-coordinate with an average nearest neighbor Cu-N distance 0.04 A shorter than that of the ground state [Cu(I)(dmp)(2)](+). The results confirm the previously proposed "exciplex" structure of the MLCT state in Lewis basic solvents. The evolution from the photoexcited Franck-Condon MLCT state to the thermally equilibrated MLCT state was followed by femtosecond optical transient spectroscopy, revealing three time constants of 500-700 fs, 10-20 ps, and 1.6-1.7 ns, likely related to the kinetics for the formation of the triplet MLCT state, structural relaxation, and the MLCT excited-state decay to the ground state, respectively. DFT calculations are used to interpret the spectral shift on structural relaxation and to predict the geometries of the ground state, the tetracoordinate excited state, and the exciplex. The DFT calculations also indicate that the amount of charge transferred from copper to the dmp ligand upon photoexcitation is similar to the charge difference at the copper center between the ground-state copper(I) and copper(II) complexes.  相似文献

A new interpretation of the electronic spectroscopy, photochemistry, and photophysics of group 6 metal cis-tetracarbonyls [M(CO)(4)L(2)] is proposed, that is based on an interplay between M --> L and M --> CO MLCT excited states. TD-DFT and resonance Raman spectroscopy show that the lowest allowed electronic transition of [W(CO)(4)(en)] (en = 1,2-ethylenediamine) has a W(CO(eq))(2) --> CO(ax) charge-transfer character, whereby the electron density is transferred from the equatorial W(CO(eq))(2) moiety to pi orbitals of the axial CO ligands, with a net decrease of electron density on the W atom. The lowest, emissive excited state of [W(CO)(4)(en)] was identified as a spin-triplet W(CO(eq))(2) --> CO(ax) CT excited state both computationally and by picosecond time-resolved IR spectroscopy. This state undergoes 1.5 ps vibrational relaxation/solvation and decays to the ground state with a approximately 160 ps lifetime. The nu(CO) wavenumbers and IR intensity pattern calculated by DFT for the triplet W(CO(eq))(2) --> CO(ax) CT excited state match well the experimental time-resolved spectrum. For [W(CO)(4)(R-DAB)] (R-DAB = N,N'-bis-alkyl-1,4-diazabutadiene), the W(CO(eq))(2) --> CO(ax) CT transition follows in energy the W --> DAB MLCT transition, and the emissive W(CO(eq))(2) --> CO(ax) CT triplet state occurs just above the manifold of triplet W --> DAB MLCT states. No LF electronic transitions were calculated to occur in a relevant energetic range for either complex. Molecular orbitals of both complexes are highly delocalized. The 5d(W) character is distributed over many molecular orbitals, while neither of them contains a predominant metal-ligand sigma 5d(W) component, contrary to predictions of the traditional ligand-field approach. The important spectroscopic, photochemical, and photophysical roles of M(CO(eq))(2) --> CO(ax) CT excited states and the limited validity of ligand field arguments can be generalized to other mixed-ligand carbonyl complexes.  相似文献

The lowest allowed electronic transition of fac-[Re(Cl)(CO)(3)(bopy)(2)] (bopy = 4-benzoylpyridine) has a Re --> bopy MLCT character, as revealed by UV-vis and stationary resonance Raman spectroscopy. Accordingly, the lowest-lying, long-lived, excited state is Re --> bopy (3)MLCT. Electronic depopulation of the Re(CO)(3) unit and population of a bopy pi orbital upon excitation are evident by the upward shift of nu(CO) vibrations and a downward shift of the ketone nu(C=O) vibration, respectively, seen in picosecond time-resolved IR spectra. Moreover, reduction of a single bopy ligand in the (3)MLCT excited state is indicated by time-resolved visible and resonance Raman (TR(3)) spectra that show features typical of bopy(*)(-). In contrast, the lowest allowed electronic transition and lowest-lying excited state of a new complex fac-[Re(bopy)(CO)(3)(bpy)](+) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) have been identified as Re --> bpy MLCT with no involvement of the bopy ligand, despite the fact that the first reduction of this complex is bopy-localized, as was proven spectroelectrochemically. This is a rare case in which the localizations of the lowest MLCT excitation and the first reduction are different. (3)MLCT excited states of both fac-[Re(Cl)(CO)(3)(bopy)(2)] and fac-[Re(bopy)(CO)(3)(bpy)](+) are initially formed vibrationally hot. Their relaxation is manifested by picosecond dynamic shifts of nu(C(triple bond)O) IR bands. The X-ray structure of fac-[Re(bopy)(CO)(3)(bpy)]PF(6).CH(3)CN has been determined.  相似文献

Novel chelators, i.e., 4-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,3-triazole derivatives, were synthesized by means of Cu(I)-catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and used to prepare luminescent Re(I) complexes [ReCl(CO)(3)(Bn-pyta)], [ReCl(CO)(3)(AcGlc-pyta)] and [ReCl(CO)(3)(Glc-pyta)] (Bn-pyta = 1-benzyl-4-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,3-triazole, AcGlc-pyta = 2-(4-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)ethyl 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-beta-d-glucopyranoside, Glc-pyta = 2-(4-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)ethyl beta-d-glucopyranoside). X-Ray crystallography of Bn-pyta and Glc-pyta indicated an azocompound-like structure while the 1,2,4-triazole isomer has an azine character. [ReCl(CO)(3)(Bn-pyta)] crystallized in the monoclinic system with space group P2(1)/n. Bn-pyta ligand coordinates with the nitrogen atoms of the 2-pyridyl group and the 3-position of 1,2,3-triazole ring, which is a very similar coordinating fashion to that of the 2,2'-bipyridine derivative. The glucoconjugated Re(I) complexes [ReCl(CO)(3)(AcGlc-pyta)] and [ReCl(CO)(3)(Glc-pyta)] hardly crystallized, and were analyzed by applying extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis. The EXAFS analyses suggested that the glucoconjugation at the 1-position of the 1,2,3-triazole makes no influence to the coordinating fashion of 4-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,3-triazole. [ReCl(CO)(3)(Bn-pyta)] showed a blue-shifted maximum absorption (333 nm, 3.97 x 10(3) M(-1) cm(-1)) compared with [ReCl(CO)(3)(bpy)] (371 nm, 3.35 x 10(3) M(-1) cm(-1)). These absorptions were clearly assigned to be the mixed metal-ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (MLLCT) on the basis of time-dependent density functional theory calculation. The luminescence spectrum of [ReCl(CO)(3)(Bn-pyta)] also showed this blue-shifted feature when compared with that of [ReCl(CO)(3)(bpy)]. The luminescence lifetime of [ReCl(CO)(3)(Bn-pyta)] was determined to be 8.90 mus in 2-methyltetrahydrofuran at 77 K, which is longer than that of [ReCl(CO)(3)(bpy)] (3.17 micros). The blue-shifted electronic absorption and elongated luminescence lifetime of [ReCl(CO)(3)(Bn-pyta)] suggested that 4-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,3-triazole functions as an electron-rich bidentate chelator.  相似文献

The intercalation of fac-[(4,4'-bpy)Re(I)(CO)3(dppz)]+ (dppz = dipyridyl[3,2-a:2'3'-c]phenazine) in polynucleotides, poly[dAdT]2 and poly[dGdC]2, where A = adenine, G = guanine, C = cytosine and T = thymine, is a major cause of changes in the absorption and emission spectra of the complex. A strong complex-poly[dAdT]2 interaction drives the intercalation process, which has a binding constant, Kb approximately 1.8 x 10(5) M(-1). Pulse radiolysis was used for a study of the redox reactions of e(-)(aq), C*H(2)OH and N3* radicals with the intercalated complex. These radicals exhibited more affinity for the intercalated complex than for the bases. Ligand-radical complexes, fac-[(4,4'-bpy*)Re(I)(CO)3(dppz)] and fac-[(4,4'-bpy)Re(I)(CO)3(dppz *)], were produced by e(-)(aq) and C*H(2)OH, respectively. A Re(II) species, fac-[(4,4'-bpy)Re(II)(CO)3(dppz)](2+), was produced by N3* radicals. The rate of annihilation of the ligand-radical species was second order on the concentration of ligand-radical while the disappearance of the Re(II) complex induced the oxidative cleavage of the polynucleotide strand.  相似文献
