Summary. This is a continuation of our previous work [6] on the investigation of intermittency for the parabolic equation (∂/∂t)u=Hu on ℝ+×ℤ d associated with the Anderson Hamiltonian H=κΔ+ξ(·) for i.i.d. random potentials ξ(·). For the Cauchy problem with nonnegative homogeneous initial condition we study the second order asymptotics of the statistical moments <u(t,0) p > and the almost sure growth of u(t,0) as t→∞. We point out the crucial role of double exponential tails of ξ(0) for the formation of high intermittent peaks of the solution u(t,·) with asymptotically finite size. The challenging motivation is to achieve a better understanding of the geometric structure of such high exceedances which in one or another sense provide the essential contribution to the solution. Summary. We consider the Cauchy problem for the mass density ρ of particles which diffuse in an incompressible fluid. The dynamical behaviour of ρ is modeled by a linear, uniformly parabolic differential equation containing a stochastic vector field. This vector field is interpreted as the velocity field of the fluid in a state of turbulence. Combining a contraction method with techniques from white noise analysis we prove an existence and uniqueness result for the solution ρ∈C 1,2([0,T]×ℝ d ,(S)*), which is a generalized random field. For a subclass of Cauchy problems we show that ρ actually is a classical random field, i.e. ρ(t,x) is an L 2-random variable for all time and space parameters (t,x)∈[0,T]×ℝ d . We say that n independent trajectories ξ1(t),…,ξ n (t) of a stochastic process ξ(t)on a metric space are asymptotically separated if, for some ɛ > 0, the distance between ξ i (t i ) and ξ j (t j ) is at least ɛ, for some indices i, j and for all large enough t 1,…,t n , with probability 1. We prove sufficient conitions for asymptotic separationin terms of the Green function and the transition function, for a wide class of Markov processes. In particular,if ξ is the diffusion on a Riemannian manifold generated by the Laplace operator Δ, and the heat kernel p(t, x, y) satisfies the inequality p(t, x, x) ≤ Ct −ν/2 then n trajectories of ξ are asymptotically separated provided . Moreover, if for some α∈(0, 2)then n trajectories of ξ(α) are asymptotically separated, where ξ(α) is the α-process generated by −(−Δ)α/2. Let (A,D(A)) be the infinitesimal generator of a Feller semigroup such that C c (ℝ n )⊂D(A) and A|C c (ℝ n ) is a pseudo-differential operator with symbol −p(x,ξ) satisfying |p(•,ξ)|c(1+|ξ|2) and |Imp(x,ξ)|≤c 0Rep(x,ξ). We show that the associated Feller process {X t } t ≥0 on ℝ n is a semimartingale, even a homogeneous diffusion with jumps (in the sense of [21]), and characterize the limiting behaviour of its trajectories as t→0 and ∞. To this end, we introduce various indices, e.g., β x :={λ>0:lim |ξ|→∞ | x y |≤2/|ξ||p(y,ξ)|/|ξ|λ=0} or δ x :={λ>0:liminf |ξ|→∞ | x y |≤2/|ξ| |ε|≤1|p(y,|ξ|ε)|/|ξ|λ=0}, and obtain a.s. (ℙ x ) that lim t →0 t −1/λ s t |X s x|=0 or ∞ according to λ>β x or λ<δ x . Similar statements hold for the limit inferior and superior, and also for t→∞. Our results extend the constant-coefficient (i.e., Lévy) case considered by W. Pruitt [27]. Received: 21 July 1997 / Revised version: 26 January 1998  相似文献

Let Zjt, j = 1, . . . , d, be independent one-dimensional symmetric stable processes of index α ∈ (0,2). We consider the system of stochastic differential equations where the matrix A(x)=(Aij(x))1≤ i, jd is continuous and bounded in x and nondegenerate for each x. We prove existence and uniqueness of a weak solution to this system. The approach of this paper uses the martingale problem method. For this, we establish some estimates for pseudodifferential operators with singular state-dependent symbols. Let λ2 > λ1 > 0. We show that for any two vectors a, b∈ ℝd with |a|, |b| ∈ (λ1, λ2) and p sufficiently large, the Lp-norm of the operator whose Fourier multiplier is (|u · a|α - |u · b|α) / ∑j=1d |ui|α is bounded by a constant multiple of |ab|θ for some θ > 0, where u=(u1 , . . . , ud) ∈ ℝd. We deduce from this the Lp-boundedness of pseudodifferential operators with symbols of the form ψ(x,u)=|u · a(x)|α / ∑j=1d |ui|α, where u=(u1,...,ud) and a is a continuous function on ℝd with |a(x)|∈ (λ1, λ2) for all x∈ ℝd. Summary We consider a model of random walk on ℤν, ν≥2, in a dynamical random environment described by a field ξ={ξ t (x): (t,x)∈ℤν+1}. The random walk transition probabilities are taken as P(X t +1= y|X t = x t =η) =P 0( yx)+ c(yx;η(x)). We assume that the variables {ξ t (x):(t,x) ∈ℤν+1} are i.i.d., that both P 0(u) and c(u;s) are finite range in u, and that the random term c(u;·) is small and with zero average. We prove that the C.L.T. holds almost-surely, with the same parameters as for P 0, for all ν≥2. For ν≥3 there is a finite random (i.e., dependent on ξ) correction to the average of X t , and there is a corresponding random correction of order to the C.L.T.. For ν≥5 there is a finite random correction to the covariance matrix of X t and a corresponding correction of order to the C.L.T.. Proofs are based on some new L p estimates for a class of functionals of the field. Received: 4 January 1996/In revised form: 26 May 1997  相似文献

We consider the parabolic Anderson problem ∂ t u = κΔu + ξ(x)u on ℝ+×ℝ d with initial condition u(0,x) = 1. Here κ > 0 is a diffusion constant and ξ is a random homogeneous potential. We concentrate on the two important cases of a Gaussian potential and a shot noise Poisson potential. Under some mild regularity assumptions, we derive the second-order term of the almost sure asymptotics of u(t, 0) as t→∞. An Application of a Mountain Pass Theorem   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
We are concerned with the following Dirichlet problem: −Δu(x) = f(x, u), x∈Ω, uH 1 0(Ω), (P) where f(x, t) ∈C (×ℝ), f(x, t)/t is nondecreasing in t∈ℝ and tends to an L -function q(x) uniformly in x∈Ω as t→ + ∞ (i.e., f(x, t) is asymptotically linear in t at infinity). In this case, an Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz-type condition, that is, for some θ > 2, M > 0, 0 > θF(x, s) ≤f(x, s)s, for all |s|≥M and x∈Ω, (AR) is no longer true, where F(x, s) = ∫ s 0 f(x, t)dt. As is well known, (AR) is an important technical condition in applying Mountain Pass Theorem. In this paper, without assuming (AR) we prove, by using a variant version of Mountain Pass Theorem, that problem (P) has a positive solution under suitable conditions on f(x, t) and q(x). Our methods also work for the case where f(x, t) is superlinear in t at infinity, i.e., q(x) ≡ +∞. Received June 24, 1998, Accepted January 14, 2000.  相似文献

In the present paper we consider the transition semigroup P t related to some stochastic reaction-diffusion equations with the nonlinear term f having polynomial growth and satisfying some dissipativity conditions. We are proving that it has a regularizing effect in the Banach space of continuous functions , where ⊂ℝ d is a bounded open set. In L 2() the only result proved is the strong Feller property, for d=1. Here we are able to prove that if fC (ℝ) and d≤3, then for any and t>0. An important application is to the study of the ergodic properties of the system. These results are also of interest for some problem in stochastic control. We consider oriented bond or site percolation on ℤ d +. In the case of bond percolation we denote by P p the probability measure on configurations of open and closed bonds which makes all bonds of ℤ d + independent, and for which P p {e is open} = 1 −P p e {is closed} = p for each fixed edge e of ℤ d +. We take X(e) = 1 (0) if e is open (respectively, closed). We say that ρ-percolation occurs for some given 0 < ρ≤ 1, if there exists an oriented infinite path v 0 = 0, v 1, v 2, …, starting at the origin, such that lim inf n →∞ (1/n) ∑ i=1 n X(e i ) ≥ρ, where e i is the edge {v i−1 , v i }. [MZ92] showed that there exists a critical probability p c = p c (ρ, d) = p c (ρ, d, bond) such that there is a.s. no ρ-percolation for p < p c and that P p {ρ-percolation occurs} > 0 for p > p c . Here we find lim d →∞ d 1/ρ p c d, bond) = D 1 , say. We also find the limit for the analogous quantity for site percolation, that is D 2 = lim d →∞ d 1/ρ p c (ρ, d, site). It turns out that for ρ < 1, D 1 < D 2 , and neither of these limits equals the analogous limit for the regular d-ary trees. Received: 7 January 1999 / Published online: 14 June 2000  相似文献

Hydrodynamic large scale limit for the Ginzburg-Landau ∇φ interface model was established in [6]. As its next stage this paper studies the corresponding large deviation problem. The dynamic rate functional is given by
for h=h(t,θ),t∈[0,T],θ∈? d , where σ=σ(u) is the surface tension for mean tilt u∈ℝ d . Our main tool is H −1-method expoited by Landim and Yau [9]. The relationship to the rate functional obtained under the static situation by Deuschel et al. [3] is also discussed. We study a periodic boundary-value problem for the quasilinear equation u tt u xx =F[u, u t , u x ], u(x, 0)=u(x, π)=0, u(x + ω, t) = u(x, t), x ∈ ℝ t ∈ [0, π], and establish conditions that guarantee the validity of a theorem on unique solvability. We consider the massless field with zero boundary conditions outside D N D∩ (ℤ d /N) (N∈ℤ+), D a suitable subset of ℝ d , i.e. the continuous spin Gibbs measure ℙ N on ℝ ℤd/N with Hamiltonian given by H(ϕ) = ∑ x,y:|x−y|=1 V(ϕ(x) −ϕ(y)) and ϕ(x) = 0 for xD N C . The interaction V is taken to be strictly convex and with bounded second derivative. This is a standard effective model for a (d + 1)-dimensional interface: ϕ represents the height of the interface over the base D N . Due to the choice of scaling of the base, we scale the height with the same factor by setting ξ N = ϕ/N. We study various concentration and relaxation properties of the family of random surfaces {ξ N } and of the induced family of gradient fields ∇ N ξ N as the discretization step 1/N tends to zero (N→∞). In particular, we prove a large deviation principle for {ξ N } and show that the corresponding rate function is given by ∫ D σ(∇u(x))dx, where σ is the surface tension of the model. This is a multidimensional version of the sample path large deviation principle. We use this result to study the concentration properties of ℙ N under the volume constraint, i.e. the constraint that (1/N d ) ∑ x∈DN ξ N (x) stays in a neighborhood of a fixed volume v > 0, and the hard–wall constraint, i.e. ξ N (x) ≥ 0 for all x. This is therefore a model for a droplet of volume v lying above a hard wall. We prove that under these constraints the field {ξ N of rescaled heights concentrates around the solution of a variational problem involving the surface tension, as it would be predicted by the phenomenological theory of phase boundaries. Our principal result, however, asserts local relaxation properties of the gradient field {∇ N ξ N (·)} to the corresponding extremal Gibbs states. Thus, our approach has little in common with traditional large deviation techniques and is closer in spirit to hydrodynamic limit type of arguments. The proofs have both probabilistic and analytic aspects. Essential analytic tools are ? p estimates for elliptic equations and the theory of Young measures. On the side of probability tools, a central role is played by the Helffer–Sj?strand [31] PDE representation for continuous spin systems which we rewrite in terms of random walk in random environment and by recent results of T. The stochastic equation dX t =dS t +a(t,X t )dt, t≥0, is considered where S is a one-dimensional Levy process with the characteristic exponent ψ(ξ),ξ∈ℝ. We prove the existence of (weak) solutions for a bounded, measurable coefficient a and any initial value X 0=x 0∈ℝ when (ℛeψ(ξ))−1=o(|ξ|−1) as |ξ|→∞. These conditions coincide with those found by Tanaka, Tsuchiya and Watanabe (J. Math. Kyoto Univ. 14(1), 73–92, 1974) in the case of a(t,x)=a(x). Our approach is based on Krylov’s estimates for Levy processes with time-dependent drift. Some variants of those estimates are derived in this note.  相似文献

 We prove that the solution u of the equation u t =Δlog u, u>0, in (Ω\{x 0})×(0,T), Ω⊂ℝ2, has removable singularities at {x 0}×(0,T) if and only if for any 0<α<1, 0<a<b<T, there exist constants ρ0, C 1, C 2>0, such that C 1 |xx 0|αu(x,t)≤C 2|xx 0|−α holds for all 0<|xx 0|≤ρ0 and atb. As a consequence we obtain a sufficient condition for removable singularities at {∞}×(0,T) for solutions of the above equation in ℝ2×(0,T) and we prove the existence of infinitely many finite mass solutions for the equation in ℝ2×(0,T) when 0≤u 0L 1 (ℝ2) is radially symmetric and u 0L loc 1(ℝ2). An orthonormal wavelet system in ℝd, d ∈ ℕ, is a countable collection of functions {ψ j,k }, j ∈ ℤ, k ∈ ℤd, ℓ = 1,..., L, of the form that is an orthonormal basis for L2 (ℝd), where a ∈ GLd (ℝ) is an expanding matrix. The first such system to be discovered (almost 100 years ago) is the Haar system for which L = d = 1, ψ1(x) = ψ(x) = κ[0,1/2)(x) − κ[l/2,1) (x), a = 2. It is a natural problem to extend these systems to higher dimensions. A simple solution is found by taking appropriate products Φ(x1, x2, ..., xd) = φ1 (x12(x2) ... φd(xd) of functions of one variable. The obtained wavelet system is not always convenient for applications. It is desirable to find “nonseparable” examples. One encounters certain difficulties, however, when one tries to construct such MRA wavelet systems. For example, if a = ( 1-1 1 1 ) is the quincunx dilation matrix, it is well-known (see, e.g., [5]) that one can construct nonseparable Haar-type scaling functions which are characteristic functions of rather complicated fractal-like compact sets. In this work we shall construct considerably simpler Haar-type wavelets if we use the ideas arising from “composite dilation” wavelets. These were developed in [7] and involve dilations by matrices that are products of the form ajb, j ∈ ℤ, where a ∈ GLd(ℝ) has some “expanding” property and b belongs to a group of matrices in GLd(ℝ) having |det b| = 1.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop the local linking theorem given by Li and Willein by replacing the Palais-Smale condition with a Cerami one, and apply it to the study of the existence of periodic solutions of the nonautonomous second order Hamiltonian systems (H) ü+A(t)u+∨V(t, u)=0, u∈R^N, t∈R. We handle the case of superquadratic nonlinearities which differ from those used previously. Our results extend the theorems given by Li and Willem.  相似文献

A theorem of Bourgain states that the harmonic measure for a domain in ℝ d is supported on a set of Hausdorff dimension strictly less thand [2]. We apply Bourgain’s method to the discrete case, i.e., to the distribution of the first entrance point of a random walk into a subset of ℤ d ,d≥2. By refining the argument, we prove that for allβ>0 there existsρ(d,β)<d andN(d,β), such that for anyn>N(d,β), anyx ∈ ℤ d , and anyA ⊂ {1,…,n} d •{y∈ℤ whereν A,x (y) denotes the probability thaty is the first entrance point of the simple random walk starting atx intoA. Furthermore,ρ must converge tod asβ → ∞. Supported by Swiss NF grant 20-55648.98.  相似文献

Let {S n } be a random walk on ℤ d and let R n be the number of different points among 0, S 1,…, S n −1. We prove here that if d≥ 2, then ψ(x) := lim n →∞(−:1/n) logP{R n nx} exists for x≥ 0 and establish some convexity and monotonicity properties of ψ(x). The one-dimensional case will be treated in a separate paper. We also prove a similar result for the Wiener sausage (with drift). Let B(t) be a d-dimensional Brownian motion with constant drift, and for a bounded set A⊂ℝ d let Λ t = Λ t (A) be the d-dimensional Lebesgue measure of the `sausage' ∪0≤ s t (B(s) + A). Then φ(x) := lim t→∞: (−1/t) log P{Λ t tx exists for x≥ 0 and has similar properties as ψ. Received: 20 April 2000 / Revised version: 1 September 2000 / Published online: 26 April 2001  相似文献
