The three diamagnetic square planar complexes of nickel(II), palladium(II), and platinum(II) containing two S,S-coordinated 3,5-di-tert-butylbenzene-1,2-dithiolate ligands, (L(Bu))(2-), namely [M(II)(L(Bu))(2)](2-), have been synthesized. The corresponding paramagnetic monoanions [M(II)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))](-) (S = (1)/(2)) and the neutral diamagnetic species [M(II)(L(Bu)(*))(2)] (M = Ni, Pd, Pt) have also been generated in solution or in the solid state as [N(n-Bu)(4)][M(II)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))] salts. The corresponding complex [Cu(III)(L(Bu))(2)](-) has also been investigated. The complexes have been studied by UV-vis, IR, and EPR spectroscopy and by X-ray crystallography; their electro- and magnetochemistry is reported. The electron-transfer series [M(L(Bu))(2)](2-,-,0) is shown to be ligand based involving formally one (L(Bu)(*))(-) pi radical in the monoanion or two in the neutral species [M(II)(L(Bu)(*))(2)] (M = Ni, Pd, Pt). Geometry optimizations using all-electron density functional theory with scalar relativistic corrections at the second-order Douglas-Kroll-Hess (DKH2) and zeroth-order regular approximation (ZORA) levels result in excellent agreement with the experimentally determined structures and electronic spectra. For the three neutral species a detailed analysis of the orbital structures reveals that the species may best be described as containing two strongly antiferromagnetically interacting ligand radicals. Furthermore, multiconfigurational ab initio calculations using the spectroscopy oriented configuration interaction (SORCI) approach including the ZORA correction were carried out. The calculations predict the position of the intervalence charge-transfer band well. Chemical trends in the diradical characters deduced from the multiconfigurational singlet ground-state wave function along a series of metals and ligands were discussed.  相似文献

The electronic structures of [M(L(Bu))(2)](-) (L(Bu)=3,5-di-tert-butyl-1,2-benzenedithiol; M=Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Co, Au) complexes and their electrochemically generated oxidized and reduced forms have been investigated by using sulfur K-edge as well as metal K- and L-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The electronic structure content of the sulfur K-edge spectra was determined through detailed comparison of experimental and theoretically calculated spectra. The calculations were based on a new simplified scheme based on quasi-relativistic time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) and proved to be successful in the interpretation of the experimental data. It is shown that dithiolene ligands act as noninnocent ligands that are readily oxidized to the dithiosemiquinonate(-) forms. The extent of electron transfer strongly depends on the effective nuclear charge of the central metal, which in turn is influenced by its formal oxidation state, its position in the periodic table, and scalar relativistic effects for the heavier metals. Thus, the complexes [M(L(Bu))(2)](-) (M=Ni, Pd, Pt) and [Au(L(Bu))(2)] are best described as delocalized class III mixed-valence ligand radicals bound to low-spin d(8) central metal ions while [M(L(Bu))(2)](-) (M=Cu, Au) and [M(L(Bu))(2)](2-) (M=Ni, Pd, Pt) contain completely reduced dithiolato(2-) ligands. The case of [Co(L(Bu))(2)](-) remains ambiguous. On the methodological side, the calculation led to the new result that the transition dipole moment integral is noticeably different for S(1s)-->valence-pi versus S(1s)-->valence-sigma transitions, which is explained on the basis of the differences in radial distortion that accompany chemical bond formation. This is of importance in determining experimental covalencies for complexes with highly covalent metal-sulfur bonds from ligand K-edge absorption spectroscopy.  相似文献

Two series of square planar, diamagnetic, neutral complexes of nickel(II), palladium(II), and platinum(II) containing two N,N-coordinated o-diiminobenzosemiquinonate(1-) pi radical ligands have been synthesized and characterized by UV-vis and (1)H NMR spectroscopy: [M(II)((2)L(ISQ))(2)], M = Ni (1), Pd (2), Pt (3), and [M(II)((3)L(ISQ))(2)] M = Ni (4), Pd (5), Pt (6). H(2)[(2)L(PDI)] represents 3,5-di-tert-butyl-o-phenylenediamine and H(2)[(3)L(PDI)] is N-phenyl-o-phenylenediamine; (L(ISQ))(1-) is the o-diiminobenzosemiquinonate pi radical anion, and (L(IBQ))(0) is the o-diiminobenzoquinone form of these ligands. The structures of complexes 1, 4, 5, and 6 have been (re)determined by X-ray crystallography at 100 K. Cyclic voltammetry established that the complete electron-transfer series consisting of a dianion, monoanion, neutral complex, a mono- and a dication exists: [M(L)(2)](z)z = -2, -1, 0, 1+, 2+. Each species has been electrochemically generated in solution and their X-band EPR and UV-vis spectra have been recorded. The oxidations and reductions are invariably ligand centered. Two o-diiminobenzoquinones(0) and two fully reduced o-diiminocatecholate(2-) ligands are present in the dication and dianion, respectively, whereas the monocations and monoanions are delocalized mixed valent class III species [M(II)(L(ISQ))(L(IBQ))](+) and [M(II)(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))](-), respectively. One-electron oxidations of 1 and trans-6 yield the diamagnetic dications [cis-[Ni(II)((2)L(ISQ))((2)L(IBQ))](2)]Cl(2) (7) and [trans-[Pt(II)((3)L(ISQ))((3)L(IBQ))](2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2) (8), respectively, which have been characterized by X-ray crystallography; both complexes possess a weak M.M bond and the ligands adopt an eclipsed configuration due to weak bonding interactions via pi stacking.  相似文献

The tetradentate imino-carboxylate ligand [L](2)(-) chelates the equatorial sites of Ni(II) to give the complex [Ni(L)(MeOH)(2)] in which a Ni(II) center is bound in an octahedral coordination environment with MeOH ligands occupying the axial sites. Lanthanide (Ln) and Group II metal ions (M) template the aggregation of six [Ni(L)] fragments into the octahedral cage aggregates (M[Ni(L)](6))(x)(+) (1: M = Sr(II); x = 2,2: M = Ba(II); x = 2, 3: M = La(III); x = 3, 4: M = Ce(III); x = 3, 5: M = Pr(III); x = 3, and 6: M = Nd(III); x = 3). In the presence of Group I cations, however, aggregates composed of the alkali metal-oxide cations template various cage compounds. Thus, Na(+) forms the trigonal bipyramidal [Na(5)O](3+) core within a tricapped trigonal prismatic [Ni(L)](9) aggregate to give ((Na(5)O) subset [Ni(L)](9)(MeOH)(3))(BF(4))(2).OH.CH(3)OH, 7. Li(+) and Na(+) together form a mixed Li(+)/Na(+) core comprising distorted trigonal bipyramidal [Na(3)Li(2)O](3+) within an approximately anti-square prismatic [Ni(L)](8) cage in ((Na(3)Li(2)O) subset [Ni(L)](8)(CH(3)OH)(1.3)(BF(4))(0.7))(BF(4))(2.3).(CH(3)OH)(2.75).(C(4)H(10)O)(0.5), 8, while in the presence of Li(+), a tetrahedral [Li(4)O](2+) core within a hexanuclear open cage [Ni(L)](6) in ((Li(4)O) subset [Ni(L)](6)(CH(3)OH)(3))2ClO(4).1.85CH(3)OH, 9, is produced. In the presence of H(2)O, the Cs(+) cation induces the aggregation of the [Ni(L)(H(2)O)(2)] monomer to give the cluster Cs(2)[Ni(L)(H(2)O)(2)](6).2I.4CH(3)OH.5.25H(2)O, 10. Analysis by electronic spectroscopy and mass spectrometry indicates that in solution the trend in stability follows the order 1-6 > 7 > 8 approximately 9. Magnetic susceptibility data indicate that there is net antiferromagnetic exchange between magnetic centers within the cages.  相似文献

Reactions of the anionic gallium(i) heterocycle, [:Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}](-) (Ar = C(6)H(3)Pr(i)(2)-2,6), with a variety of mono- and bidentate phosphine, tmeda and 1,5-cyclooctadiene (COD) complexes of group 10 metal dichlorides are reported. In most cases, salt elimination occurs, affording either mono(gallyl) complexes, trans-[MCl{Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}}(PEt(3))(2)] (M = Ni or Pd) and cis-[PtCl{Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}}(L)] (L = R(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PR(2), R = Ph (dppe) or cyclohexyl (dcpe)), or bis(gallyl) complexes, trans-[M{Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}}(2)(PEt(3))(2)] (M = Ni, Pd or Pt), cis-[Pt{Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}}(2)(PEt(3))(2)], cis-[M{Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}}(2)(L)] (M = Ni, Pd or Pt; L = dppe, Ph(2)CH(2)PPh(2) (dppm), tmeda or COD). The crystallographic and spectroscopic data for the complexes show that the trans-influence of the gallium(i) heterocycle lies in the series, B(OR)(2) > H(-) > PR(3) approximately [:Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}](-) > Cl(-). Comparisons between the reactivity of one complex, [Pt{Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}}(2)(dppe)], with that of closely related platinum bis(boryl) complexes indicate that the gallyl complex is not effective for the catalytic or stoichiometric gallylation of alkenes or alkynes. The phosphaalkyne, Bu(t)C[triple bond, length as m-dash]P, does, however, insert into one gallyl ligand of the complex, leading to the novel, crystallographically characterised P,N-gallyl complex, [Pt{Ga{[N(Ar)C(H)](2)}}{Ga{PC(Bu(t))C(H)[N(Ar)]C(H)N(Ar)}}(dppe)]. An investigation into the mechanism of this insertion reaction has been undertaken.  相似文献

The formation of adducts of tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane with strongly coordinating anions such as CN(-) and [M(CN)(4)](2)(-) (M = Ni, Pd) is a synthetically facile route to the bulky, very weakly coordinating anions [CN[B(C(6)F(5))(3)](2)](-) and [M[CNB(C(6)F(5))(3)](4)](2-) which are isolated as stable NHMe(2)Ph(+) and CPh(3)(+) salts. The crystal structures of [CPh(3)][CN[B(C(6)F(5))(3)](2)] (1), [CPh(3)][ClB(C(6)F(5))(3)] (2), [NHMe(2)Ph](2)[Ni[CNB(C(6)F(5))(3)](4)].2Me(2)CO (4b.2Me(2)CO), [CPh(3)](2)[Ni[CNB(C(6)F(5))(3)](4)].2CH(2)Cl(2) (4c.2CH(2)Cl(2)), and [CPh(3)](2)[Pd[CNB(C(6)F(5))(3)](4)].2CH(2)Cl(2) (5c.2CH(2)Cl(2)) are reported. The CN stretching frequencies in 4 and 5 are shifted by approximately 110 cm(-1) to higher wavenumbers compared to the parent tetracyano complexes in aqueous solution, although the M-C and C-N distances show no significant change on B(C(6)F(5))(3) coordination. Zirconocene dimethyl complexes L(2)ZrMe(2) [L(2) = Cp(2), SBI = rac-Me(2)Si(Ind)(2)] react with 1, 4c or 5c in benzene solution at 20 degrees C to give the salts of binuclear methyl-bridged cations, [(L(2)ZrMe)(2)(mu-Me)][CN[B(C(6)F(5))(3)](2)] and [(L(2)ZrMe)(2)(mu-Me)](2)[M[CNB(C(6)F(5))(3)](4)]. The reactivity of these species in solution was studied in comparison with the known [[(SBI)ZrMe](2)(mu-Me)][B(C(6)F(5))(4)]. While the latter reacts with excess [CPh(3)][B(C(6)F(5))(4)] in benzene to give the mononuclear ion pair [(SBI)ZrMe(+).B(C(6)F(5))(4)(-)] in a pseudo-first-order reaction, k = 3 x 10(-4) s(-1), [(L(2)ZrMe)(2)(mu-Me)][CN[B(C(6)F(5))(3)](2)] reacts to give a mixture of L(2)ZrMe(mu-Me)B(C(6)F(5))(3) and L(2)ZrMe(mu-NC)B(C(6)F(5))(3). Recrystallization of [Cp' '(2)Zr(mu-Me)(2)AlMe(2)][CN[B(C(6)F(5))(3)](2)] affords Cp' '(2)ZrMe(mu-NC)B(C(6)F(5))(3) 6, the X-ray structure of which is reported. The stability of [(L(2)ZrMe)(2)(mu-Me)](+)X(-) decreases in the order X = [B(C(6)F(5))(4)] > [M[CNB(C(6)F(5))(3)](4)] > [CN[B(C(6)F(5))(3)](2)] and increases strongly with the steric bulk of L(2) = Cp(2) < SBI. Activation of (SBI)ZrMe(2) by 1 in the presence of AlBu(i)(3) gives extremely active ethene polymerization catalysts. Polymerization studies at 1-7 bar monomer pressure suggest that these, and by implication most other highly active ethene polymerization catalysts, are strongly mass-transport limited. By contrast, monitoring propene polymerization activities with the systems (SBI)ZrMe(2)/1/AlBu(i)(3) and CGCTiMe(2)/1/AlBu(i)(3) at 20 degrees C as a function of catalyst concentration demonstrates that in these cases mass-transport limitation is absent up to [metal] approximately 2 x 10(-5) mol L(-1). Propene polymerization activities decrease in the order [CN[B(C(6)F(5))(3)](2)](-) > [B(C(6)F(5))(4)](-) > [M[CNB(C(6)F(5))(3)](4)](2-) > [MeB(C(6)F(5))(3)](-), with differences in activation barriers relative to [CN[B(C(6)F(5))(3)](2)](-) of DeltaDeltaG = 1.1 (B(C(6)F(5))(4)(-)), 4.1 (Ni[CNB(C(6)F(5))(3)](4)(2-)) and 10.7-12.8 kJ mol(-)(1) (MeB(C(6)F(5))(3)(-)). The data suggest that even in the case of very bulky anions with delocalized negative charge the displacement of the anion by the monomer must be involved in the rate-limiting step.  相似文献

The syntheses, structures, and magnetic properties of two pentanuclear cyanide-bridged compounds are reported. The trigonal bipyramidal molecule [[Ni(tmphen)(2)](3)[Fe(CN)(6)](2)].14H(2)O, (1).14H(2)O (tmphen = 3,4,7,8-tetramethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) crystallizes in the space group P2(1)/c (No. 14) with unit cell parameters a = 19.531(4) A, b = 24.895(5) A, c = 24.522(5) A, beta = 98.68(3) degrees, V = 11787(4) A(3), and Z = 4. The pi-pi interactions between the tmphen ligands provide the closest intermolecular contacts of 3.37 A leading to large intermolecular M...M distances (> 8.68 A). The dc magnetic susceptibility of 1 indicates a ferromagnetically coupled S = 4 ground state best fit to the parameters g = 2.23, J = +4.3 cm(-1), and D(Ni) = +8.8 cm(-1) for the Hamiltonian H = -2J [(S(Fe(1)) + S(Fe(2))).(S(Ni(1)) + S(Ni(2)) + S(Ni(3)))] + D[S(Ni(1))(z)(2) + S(Ni(2))(z)(2) + S(Ni(3))(z)(2)]. The extended square molecule [Ni(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)][[Ni(bpy)(2)](2)[Fe(CN)(6)](2)].12H(2)O, (2).12H(2)O (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) crystallizes in the space group P1 (No. 2) with unit cell parameters a = 13.264(3) A, b = 17.607(4) A, c = 18.057(4) A, alpha = 94.58(3) degrees, beta = 103.29(3) degrees, gamma = 95.18(3) degrees, V = 4065(2) A(3), and Z = 2. The pi-pi interactions of 3.29 A between the bpy ligands are the closest intermolecular contacts, and the intermolecular M...M separations are greater than 7.76 A. The dc magnetic susceptibility data for 2 are also in accord with an S = 4 ground state arising from intramolecular ferromagnetic coupling. The data were best fit to the parameters g = 2.25, J = J' = +3.3 cm(-1), and D(Ni) = +5.8 cm(-1) for the Hamiltonian H = -2J[(S(Fe(1)) + S(Fe(2))).(S(Ni(1)) + S(Ni(2)))] - 2J'[(S(Fe(2)).S(Ni(3)))] + D[S(Ni(1))(z)(2) + S(Ni(2))(z)(2) + S(Ni(3))(z)(2)]. No evidence for long-range magnetic ordering was observed for crystalline samples of 1 or 2.  相似文献

The electronic structures of complexes of iron containing two S,S'-coordinated benzene-1,2-dithiolate, (L)(2)(-), or 3,5-di-tert-butyl-1,2-benzenedithiolate, (L(Bu))(2)(-), ligands have been elucidated in depth by electronic absorption, infrared, X-band EPR, and Mossbauer spectroscopies. It is conclusively shown that, in contrast to earlier reports, high-valent iron(IV) (d(4), S = 1) is not accessible in this chemistry. Instead, the S,S'-coordinated radical monoanions (L(*))(1)(-) and/or (L(Bu)(*))(1)(-) prevail. Thus, five-coordinate [Fe(L)(2)(PMe(3))] has an electronic structure which is best described as [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(PMe(3))] where the observed triplet ground state of the molecule is attained via intramolecular, strong antiferromagnetic spin coupling between an intermediate spin ferric ion (S(Fe) = (3)/(2)) and a ligand radical (L(*))(1)(-) (S(rad) = (1)/(2)). The following complexes containing only benzene-1,2-dithiolate(2-) ligands have been synthesized, and their electronic structures have been studied in detail: [NH(C(2)H(5))(3)](2)[Fe(II)(L)(2)] (1), [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(L)(4)] (2), [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(L(Bu))(4)] (3); [P(CH(3))Ph(3)][Fe(III)(L)(2)(t-Bu-py)] (4) where t-Bu-py is 4-tert-butylpyridine. Complexes containing an Fe(III)(L(*))(L)- or Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))- moiety are [N(n-Bu)(4)][Fe(III)(2)(L(Bu))(3)(L(Bu)(*))] (3(ox)()), [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(t-Bu-py)] (4(ox)()), [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PMe(3))] (7), [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PMe(3))(2)] (8), and [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PPr(3))] (9), where Pr represents the n-propyl substituent. Complexes 2, 3(ox)(), 4, [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(PMe(3))(2)] (6), and 9 have been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

From the reaction of Ni(COD)(2) (COD = cyclooctadiene) in dry diethylether with 2 equiv of 2-phenyl-1,4-bis(isopropyl)-1,4-diazabutadiene (L(Ox))(0) under an Ar atmosphere, dark red, diamagnetic microcrystals of [Ni(II)(L*)(2)] (1) were obtained where (L*)(1-) represents the pi radical anion of neutral (L(Ox))(0) and (L(Red))(2-) is the closed shell, doubly reduced form of (L(Ox))(0). Oxidation of 1 with 1 equiv of ferrocenium hexafluorophosphate in CH(2)Cl(2) yields a paramagnetic (S = 1/2), dark violet precipitate of [Ni(I)(L(Ox))(2)](PF(6)) (2) which represents an oxidatively induced reduction of the central nickel ion. From the same reaction but with 2 equiv of [Fc](PF(6)) in CH(2)Cl(2), light green crystals of [Ni(II)(L(Ox))(2)(FPF(5))](PF(6)) (3) (S = 1) were obtained. If the same reaction was carried out in tetrahydrofuran, crystals of [Ni(II)(L(Ox))(2)(THF)(FPF(5))](PF(6)) x THF (4) (S = 1) were obtained. Compounds 1, 2, 3, and 4 were structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography: 1 and 2 contain a tetrahedral neutral complex and a tetrahedral monocation, respectively, whereas 3 contains the five-coordinate cation [Ni(II)(L(Ox))(2)(FPF(5))](+) with a weakly coordinated PF(6)(-) anion and in 4 the six-coordinate monocation [Ni(II)(L(Ox))(2)(THF)(FPF(5))](+) is present. The electro- and magnetochemistry of 1-4 has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry and SQUID measurements. UV-vis and EPR spectroscopic data for all compounds are reported. The experimental results have been confirmed by broken symmetry DFT calculations of [Ni(II)(L*)(2)](0), [Ni(I)(L(Ox))(2)](+), and [Ni(II)(L(Ox))(2)](2+) in comparison with calculations of the corresponding Zn complexes: [Zn(II)((t)L(Ox))(2)](2+), [Zn(II)((t)L(Ox))((t)L*)](+), [Zn(II)((t)L*)(2)](0), and [Zn(II)((t)L*)((t)L(Red))](-) where ((t)L(Ox))(0) represents the neutral ligand 1,4-di-tert-butyl-1,4-diaza-1,3-butadiene and ((t)L*)(1-) and ((t)L(Red))(2-) are the corresponding one- and two-electron reduced forms. It is clearly established that the electronic structures of both paramagnetic monocations [Ni(I)(L(Ox))(2)](+) (S = 1/2) and [Zn(II)((t)L(Ox))((t)(L*)](+) (S = 1/2) are different.  相似文献

The synthesis and structural analysis (single crystal X-ray data) of two mononuclear ([Cu(L(1))(CN)]BF(4) and [Cu(L(3))(CN)](BF(4))) and three related, cyanide-bridged homodinuclear complexes ([{Cu(L(1))}(2)(CN)](BF(4))(3)·1.35 H(2)O, [{Cu(L(2))}(2)(CN)](BF(4))(3) and [{Ni(L(3))}(2)(CN)](BF(4))(3)) with a tetradentate (L(1)) and two isomeric pentadentate bispidine ligands (L(2), L(3); bispidines are 3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane derivatives) are reported, together with experimental magnetic, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), and electronic spectroscopic data and a ligand-field-theory-based analysis. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibilities and EPR transitions of the dicopper(II) complexes, together with the simulation of the EPR spectra of the mono- and dinuclear complexes leads to an anisotropic set of g- and A-values, zero-field splitting (ZFS) and magnetic exchange parameters (Cu1: g(z) = 2.055, g(x) = 2.096, g(y) = 2.260, A(z) = 8, A(x) = 8, A(y) = 195 × 10(-4) cm(-1), Cu2: g and A as for Cu(1) but rotated by the Euler angles α = -6°, β = 100°, D(exc) = -0.07 cm(-1), E(exc)/D(exc) = 0.205 for [{Cu(L(1))}(2)(CN)](BF(4))(3)·1.35 H(2)O; Cu1,2: g(z) = 2.025, g(x) = 2.096, g(y) = 2.240, A(z) = 8, A(x) = 8, A(y) = 190 × 10(-4)cm(-1), D(exc) = -0.159 cm(-1), E(exc)/D(exc) = 0.080 for [{Cu(L(2))}(2)(CN)](BF(4))(3)). Thorough ligand-field-theory-based analyses, involving all micro states and all relevant interactions (Jahn-Teller and spin-orbit coupling) and DFT calculations of the magnetic exchange leads to good agreement between the experimental observations and theoretical predictions. The direction of the symmetric magnetic anisotropy tensor D(exc) in [{Cu(L(2))}(2)(CN)](BF(4))(3) is close to the Cu···Cu vector (22°), that is, nearly perpendicular to the Jahn-Teller axis of each of the two Cu(II) centers, and this reflects the crystallographically observed geometry. Antisymmetric exchange in [{Cu(L(1))}(2)(CN)](BF(4))(3)·1.35 H(2)O causes a mixing between the singlet ground state and the triplet excited state, and this also reflects the observed geometry with a rotation of the two Cu(II) sites around the Cu···Cu axis.  相似文献

Ternary Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and UO(2)(II) chelates with tenoxicam (Ten) drug (H(2)L(1)) and dl-alanine (Ala) (HL(2)) and also the binary UO(2)(II) chelate with Ten were studied. The structures of the chelates were elucidated using elemental, molar conductance, magnetic moment, IR, diffused reflectance and thermal analyses. UO(2)(II) binary chelate was isolated in 1:2 ratio with the formula [UO(2)(H(2)L)(2)](NO(3))(2). The ternary chelates were isolated in 1:1:1 (M:H(2)L(1):L(2)) ratios and have the general formulae [M(H(2)L(1))(L(2))(Cl)(n)(H(2)O)(m)].yH(2)O (M=Fe(III) (n=2, m=0, y=2), Co(II) (n=1, m=1, y=2) and Ni(II) (n=1, m=1, y=3)); [M(H(2)L(1))(L(2))](X)(z).yH(2)O (M=Cu(II) (X=AcO, z=1, y=0), Zn(II) (X=AcO, z=1, y=3) and UO(2)(II) (X=NO(3), z=1, y=2)). IR spectra reveal that Ten behaves as a neutral bidentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the pyridine-N and carbonyl-O groups, while Ala behaves as a uninegatively bidentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the deprotonated carboxylate-O and amino-N. The magnetic and reflectance spectral data confirm that all the chelates have octahedral geometry except Cu(II) and Zn(II) chelates have tetrahedral structures. Thermal decomposition of the chelates was discussed in relation to structure and different thermodynamic parameters of the decomposition stages were evaluated.  相似文献

A series of L(2) = diimine (Bian = bis(3,5-diisopropylphenylimino)acenapthene, Bu(t)(2)bpy = 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine) supported aqua, hydroxo, oxo, amido, imido, and mixed complexes have been prepared. Deprotonation of [L(2)Pt(mu-OH)](2)(2+) with 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene, NaH, or KOH yields [(L(2)Pt)(2)(mu-OH)(mu-O)](+) as purple (Bian) or red (Bu(t)(2)bpy) solids. Excess KOH gives dark blue [(Bian)Pt(mu-O)](2). MeOTf addition to [(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(2)Pt(2)(mu-OH)(mu-O)](+) gives [(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(2)Pt(2)(mu-OH)(mu-OMe)](2+) while [(Bian)Pt(mu-O)](2) yields [(Bian)(2)Pt(2)(mu-OMe)(mu-O)](+). Treatment of [(Bian)Pt(mu-O)](2) with "(Ph(3)P)Au(+)" gives deep purple [(Bian)(2)Pt(2)(mu-O)(mu-OAuPPh(3))](+) while (COD)Pt(OTf)(2) gives a low yield of [(Bian)Pt(3)(mu-OH)(3)(COD)(2)](OTf)(3). Ni(Bu(t)(2)bpy)Cl(2) and [(Ph(3)PAu)(3)(mu-O)](+) in a 3 : 2 ratio yield red [Ni(3)(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(3)(mu-O)(2)](2+). M(Bu(t)(2)bpy)Cl(2) (M = Pd, Pt) and [(Ph(3)PAu)(3)(mu-O)](+) give [M(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(mu-OAuPPh(3))](2)(2+) and [Pd(4)(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(4)(mu-OAuPPh(3))](3+). Addition of ArNH(2) to [M(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(mu-OH)](2)(2+) (M = Pd, Pt) gives [Pt(2)(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(2)(mu-NHAr)(mu-OH)](2+) (Ar = Ph, 4-tol, 4-C(6)H(4)NO(2)) and [M(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(mu-NHAr)](2)(2+) (Ar = Ph, tol). Deprotonation of [Pt(2)(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(2)(mu-NH-tol)(mu-OH)](2+) with 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene or NaH gives [Pt(2)(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(2)(mu-NH-tol)(mu-O)](+). Deprotonation of [Pt(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(mu-NH-tol)](2)(2+) with KOBu(t) gives deep green [Pt(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(mu-N-tol)](2). The triflate complexes M(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(OTf)(2) (M = Pd, Pt) are obtained from M(Bu(t)(2)bpy)Cl(2) and AgOTf. Treatment of Pt(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(OTf)(2) with water gives the aqua complex [Pt(Bu(t)(2)bpy)(H(2)O)(2)](OTf)(2).  相似文献

The two new ligands L(fur) and L(th) consist of two chelating pyrazolyl-pyridine termini connected to furan-2,5-diyl or thiophene-2,5-diyl spacers via methylene groups. Reaction of these with a range of transition metal dications that prefer octahedral coordination affords a series of unusual structures which are all based on a 2M : 3L ratio. [M(8)(L(fur))(12)]X(16) (M = Co, Cu, X = BF(4); and M = Zn, X = ClO(4)) are octanuclear cubes with approximate D(4) symmetry in which two cyclic tetranuclear helicate M(4)L(4) units are connected by four additional 'pillar' ligands. In contrast [Ni(4)(L(fur))(6)](BF(4))(8) is a centrosymmetric molecular square consisting of two dinuclear Ni(2)L(2) units of opposite chirality that are connected by a pair of additional L(fur) ligands such that the four edges of the Ni(4) square are spanned by alternately two and one bridging ligands. [M(4)(L(th))(6)](BF(4))(8) (M = Co, Ni, Cu) are likewise molecular squares with similar structures to [Ni(4)(L(fur))(6)](BF(4))(8) with the significant difference that the two crosslinked double helicate M(2)L(2) units are now homochiral. The Cd(II) complexes both behave quite differently to the first-row metal complexes, with [Cd(L(fur))(BF(4))](BF(4)) being a simple mononuclear complex with a single ligand in which the furan oxygen atom is weakly interacting with the Cd(II) centre. In contrast, in {[Cd(2)(L(th))(3)](BF(4))(4)}(∞), where this quasi-pentadentate coordination mode of the ligand is not possible because thiophene is too poor an electron donor, the ligand reverts to bis-bidentate bridging coordination to afford a one-dimensional chain consisting of an infinite sequence of crosslinked, homochiral, Cd(2)(L(th))(2) double helicate units.  相似文献

Metal complexes of dmit and related ligands, such as dmio, have been studied extensively over the last few decades: [dmit](2-) = bis(1,3-dithiole-2-thione-4,5-dithiolato); [dmio](2-) = bis(1,3-dithiole-2-one-4,5-dithiolato). While much effort has been placed on determining structural properties, very few vigorous spectroscopic studies of these metal complexes have been undertaken. The spectroscopic features of the infrared, Raman and UV-vis spectra, previously reported, have largely been used to characterize compounds. In particular, many details of the electronic structure are still to be revealed. We now report a detailed analysis of the UV-vis spectra of the [M(dmit)](-1) and [M(dmio)](-1) anions, where M = Sb(III) or Bi(III). Experimental spectra were deconvoluted and analysed by several theoretical methodologies, including ab initio CI, TD and CISD calculations. The results led to the assignments of several MLCT/LMCT bands, occurring between 390 and 300 nm, and the confirmation of metal orbital contributions to the HOMO-LUMO boundary.  相似文献

Four heterodinuclear cryptates [EuML(dmf)](ClO(4))(2) (M=Ca, Cd, Ni, Zn) were synthesized by a two-step method (L denotes deprotonated anionic cryptand synthesized by condensation of tris(2-aminoethyl)amine with 2,6-diformyl-4-chlorophenol). The ES-MS spectra of the four cryptates and the crystal structure of [EuNiL(dmf)](ClO(4))(2) x MeCN confirm that a strict dinuclear Eu(III)-M(II) entity exits in the cryptates. The cyclic voltammetry and luminescence spectral investigations indicate that the introduction of second metal ions into the mononuclear Eu(III) cryptate result in a negative shift of the redox potential of Eu(III) and a change in luminescence intensity of Eu(III). The cryptate [EuML(dmf)](ClO(4))(2) was shown to quench the emission of Eu(III) when M=Ni and to enhance the emission of Eu(III) when M=Ca, Cd, and Zn in the sequence: mononuclear相似文献

New transition metal silyl amide complexes (Me(2)N)(3)Ta[N(SiMe(3))(2)](SiPh(2)Bu(t)) (1) and (Me(2)N)M[N(SiMe(3))(2)](2)(SiPh(2)Bu(t)) (M = Zr, 2a, and Hf, 2b) were found to undergo gamma-H abstraction by the silyl ligands to give metallaheterocyclic complexes (3) and (M = Zr, 4a, and Hf, 4b), respectively. The conversion of 1 to 3 follows first-order kinetics with DeltaH() = 23.6(1.6) kcal/mol and DeltaS() = 3(5) eu between 288 and 313 K. The formation of 4a from (Me(2)N)Zr[N(SiMe(3))(2)](2)Cl (5a) and Li(THF)(2)SiPh(2)Bu(t) (6) involves the formation of the intermediate 2a, followed by gamma-H abstraction. Kinetic studies of these consecutive reactions, a second-order reaction to give 2a and then a first-order gamma-H abstraction to give 4a, were conducted by an analytical method and a numerical method. At 278 K, the rate constants k(1) and k(2) for the two consecutive reactions are 2.17(0.03) x 10(-)(3) M(-)(1) s(-)(1) and 5.80(0.15) x 10(-)(5) s(-)(1) by the analytical method. The current work is a rare kinetic study of the A + B --> C --> D (+ E) consecutive reactions. Kinetic studies of the formation of a metallaheterocyclic moiety have, to our knowledge, not been reported. In addition, gamma-H abstraction by a silyl ligand to give such a metallaheterocyclic moiety is new. Theoretical investigations of the gamma-H abstraction by silyl ligands have been conducted by density functional theory calculations at the Becke3LYP (B3LYP) level, and they revealed that the formation of the metallacyclic complexes through gamma-H abstraction is entropically driven. X-ray crystal structures of (Me(2)N)(3)Ta[N(SiMe(3))(2)](SiPh(2)Bu(t)) (1), (Me(2)N)Zr[N(SiMe(3))(2)](2)Cl (5a), and (M = Zr, 4a, and Hf, 4b) are also reported.  相似文献

Dissolution of a tetrafluoroborate or perchlorate salt of [M(OH(2))(6)](2+) (M = Co, Ni, Cu) in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetraluforoborate ionic liquid ([emim]BF(4)) results in significant solvatochromism and increasing intensity of color. These observations arise from partial dehydration from the octahedral [M(OH(2))(6)](2+) and formation of the tetrahedral [M(OH(2))(4)](2+). This reaction was monitored by the intense absorption band due to the d-d transition in the UV-vis absorption spectrum. The EXAFS investigation clarified the coordination structures around M(2+) {[Co(OH(2))(4)](2+), R(Co-O) = 2.17 ?, N = 4.2; [Cu(OH(2))(4)](2+), R(Cu-O) = 2.09 ?, N = 3.8}. (1)H and (19)F NMR study suggested that both [emim](+) and BF(4)(-) are randomly arranged in the second-coordination sphere of [M(OH(2))(4)](2+).  相似文献

Electrospray ionization of an aqueous solution of nickel(II) sulfate provides direct experimental evidence for the formation of triple ions of the type [Ni(2)(SO(4))(H(2)O)(n)](2+) and [Ni(SO(4))(2)](2-), whose existence in aqueous solution has previously been proposed based on relaxation spectroscopy [Chen et al. J. Sol. Chem. 2005, 34, 1045]. Formally, these triple ions are formed by aggregation of the solvated ions Ni(2+) and SO(4)(2-), respectively, with the neutral ion pair NiSO(4). In addition, also higher adducts are observed, e.g. the "pentuple ions" [Ni(3)(SO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(n)](2+) (n = 7-9) and [Ni(2)(SO(4))(3)](2-), of which the dicationic is extensively hydrated, whereas the anionic is not. The structures of the dinuclear nickel clusters are derived from ab initio calculations and their infrared spectra are compared with experimental data obtained for the gaseous ions [Ni(2)SO(4)(H(2)O)(5)](2+) and [Ni(2)(SO(4))(3)](2-), respectively. The calculations show that the structures are crucially controlled by the degree of solvation of nickel ion. Explicit consideration of solvating water molecules within the first coordination sphere suggest that the dicationic triple ion [Ni(2)SO(4)](aq)(2+) is bent and thus bears a permanent dipole moment, whereas the [Ni(SO(4))(2)](aq)(2-) dianion tends to be quasi-linear. The experimental and theoretical data for the gaseous ions thus support the elegant, but indirect, deductions previously made based on solution-phase studies.  相似文献

The reactions of [Tl(2)[S(2)C=C[C(O)Me](2)]](n) with [MCl(2)(NCPh)(2)] and CNR (1:1:2) give complexes [M[eta(2)-S(2)C=C[C(O)Me](2)](CNR)(2)] [R = (t)Bu, M = Pd (1a), Pt (1b); R = C(6)H(3)Me(2)-2,6 (Xy), M = Pd (2a), Pt (2b)]. Compound 1b reacts with AgClO(4) (1:1) to give [[Pt(CN(t)Bu)(2)](2)Ag(2)[mu(2),eta(2)-(S,S')-[S(2)C=C[C(O)Me](2)](2)]](ClO(4))(2) (3). The reactions of 1 or 2 with diethylamine give mixed isocyanide carbene complexes [M[eta(2)-S(2)C=C[C(O)Me](2)](CNR)[C(NEt(2))(NHR)]] [R = (t)Bu, M = Pd (4a), Pt (4b); R = Xy, M = Pd (5a), Pt (5b)] regardless of the molar ratio of the reagents. The same complexes react with an excess of ammonia to give [M[eta(2)-(S,S')-S(2)C=C[C(O)Me](2)](CN(t)Bu)[C(NH(2))(NH(t)Bu)]] [M = Pd (6a), Pt (6b)] or [M[eta(2)-(S,S')-S(2)C=C[C(O)Me](2)][C(NH(2))(NHXy)](2)] [M = Pd (7a), Pt (7b)] probably depending on steric factors. The crystal structures of 2b, 4a, and 4b have been determined. Compounds 4a and 4b are isostructural. They all display distorted square planar metal environments and chelating planar E,Z-2,2-diacetyl-1,1-ethylenedithiolato ligands that coordinate through the sulfur atoms.  相似文献

The electronic absorption and circular dichroism (CD) spectra of the complexes produced by the one, two, and three electron reduction of Delta-[Ru(bipy)(3)](2+) and Delta-[Os(bipy)(3)](2+) are reported. The CD spectra give unequivocal proof that the added electrons are localized on individual bipiridine ligands and thus that the complexes are correctly formulated [M(bipy)(2)(bipy(-))](+), [M(bipy)(bipy(-))(2)](0), and [M(bipy(-))(3)](-). The absorption spectra of the triply reduced species [M(bipy(-))(3)](-) (M = Ru, Os) are compared to those of the Fe(II) and Ir(III) analogs. The luminescence spectra of the two triply reduced complexes [Ru(bipy(-))(3)](-) and [Os(bipy(-))(3)](-). are also presented. The MLCT luminescence found in the parent complexes is completely quenched and is replaced by a weak luminescence attributed to the pi(10) --> pi(7) transition of the (coordinated) [bipy](-) ion.  相似文献
