Summary We have isolated from the tubers ofAconitum karakolicum collected in the Kirghiz SSR, Kungei Alatau range, songorine, napelline, a base with mp 159–160°C, and the new alkaloids karakoline and a base with mp 222–224°C.The results of a study of the chemical reactions and spectral characteristics of karakoline have shown that it consists of a lycoctonine skeleton with N-ethyl and C4-methyl groups, hydroxyls at C1, C8, and C10 and a methoxy group at C15.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR. From the epigeal part ofPetilium raddeana have been isolated the known alkaloids edpetiline and edpetine and the new base petisidinone with mp 217–219°C, []D 0° (c 0.169; chloroform), C27H39NO3 (I). When the known alkaloid petisidine was oxidized, a product identical with petisidinone (I) was obtained. Thus, the structure of (I) has been established as 26,23-nitrilocholestane-3,6,22-trione. The known alkaloids isotalatisidine, nevadensine, delcosine, delsoline, and isobaldine have been isolated form the epigeal part ofDelphinium confusum M. Pop., collected in the flowering period, and also a new alkaloid with the composition C24H39NO5, mp 136–137°C (acetone), for which the structure of 14-methylisotalatisidine has been established on the basis of spectral characteristics and of passages from condelphine and isotalatisidine. Summary 1. The epigeal part ofV. erecta gathered in the Tashkent Oblast in the early vegetation period contains a mixture of alkaloids (2.7%). Separation of the total alkaloids gave vincanine, vincanidine, vinervine, akuammine, kopsinine, pseudokopsinine, and the new bases vinerine and vineridine.2.
