Continuing studies into an all-diode laser-based 3.3 μm difference frequency generation cavity ring-down spectroscopy system are presented. Light from a 1,560 nm diode laser, amplified by an erbium-doped fibre amplifier, was mixed with 1,064 nm diode laser radiation in a bulk periodically poled lithium niobate crystal to generate 16 μW of mid-IR light at 3,346 nm with a conversion efficiency of $0.05\,\%\,{\text{W}}^{-1}\,{\text{cm}}^{-1}$ . This radiation was coupled into a 77 cm long linear cavity with average mirror reflectivities of 0.9996, and a measured baseline ring-down time of $6.07\pm 0.03\,\upmu{\rm s}$ . The potential of such a spectrometer was illustrated by investigating the $P(3)$ transition in the fundamental $\nu_{3}(F_{2})$ band of ${\text{CH}}_4$ both in a 7.5 ppmv calibrated mixture of ${\text{CH}}_4$ in air and in breath samples from methane and non-methane producers under conditions where the minimum detectable absorption coefficient ( $\alpha_{\rm min}$ ) was $2.8 \times 10^{-8}\,{\rm cm}^{-1}$ over 6 s using a ring-down time acquisition rate of 20 Hz. Allan variance measurements indicated an optimum $\alpha_{\rm min}$ of $2.9\times 10^{-9}\,{\rm cm}^{-1}$ over 44 s.  相似文献

Thulium-doped fiber lasers operating at wavelengths around 2  $\upmu $ m are rapidly developing a new class of coherent light sources with a high slope efficiency reaching 70 %. The 2- $\upmu $ m radiation sources have many advantages over the 1- $\upmu $ m sources, e.g., better eye-safety, relaxed non-linear limits and often more efficient material processing. Particularly important application of 2- $\upmu $ m fiber lasers is in a highly-efficient generation of wideband mid-infrared radiation through third order nonlinear effects in soft-glass fibers. In this paper we report on the development of passive components intended for fiber laser operation around 2  $\upmu $ m, namely fiber couplers and wavelength division multiplexers for combination of 1.6- and 2- $\upmu $ m radiation. Three commercially available fibers were used for the preparation of these components. The measured characteristics of the components are compared and the limitations are discussed, particularly the two-mode operation and high bend loss. Specific fiber designs are proposed in order to optimize the performance of the wavelength division multiplexer.  相似文献

The Schrödinger  equation for a particle of rest mass $m$ and electrical charge $ne$ interacting with a four-vector potential $A_i$ can be derived as the non-relativistic limit of the Klein–Gordon  equation $\left( \Box '+m^2\right) \varPsi =0$ for the wave function $\varPsi $ , where $\Box '=\eta ^{jk}\partial '_j\partial '_k$ and $\partial '_j=\partial _j -\mathrm {i}n e A_j$ , or equivalently from the one-dimensional  action $S_1=-\int m ds +\int neA_i dx^i$ for the corresponding point particle in the semi-classical approximation $\varPsi \sim \exp {(\mathrm {i}S_1)}$ , both methods yielding the equation $\mathrm {i}\partial _0\varPsi \approx \left( \frac{1}{2m}\eta ^{\alpha \beta }\partial '_{\alpha }\partial '_{\beta } + m + n e\phi \right) \varPsi $ in Minkowski  space–time  , where $\alpha ,\beta =1,2,3$ and $\phi =-A_0$ . We show that these two methods generally yield equations  that differ in a curved background  space–time   $g_{ij}$ , although they coincide when $g_{0\alpha }=0$ if $m$ is replaced by the effective mass $\mathcal{M}\equiv \sqrt{m^2-\xi R}$ in both the Klein–Gordon  action $S$ and $S_1$ , allowing for non-minimal coupling to the gravitational  field, where $R$ is the Ricci scalar and $\xi $ is a constant. In this case $\mathrm {i}\partial _0\varPsi \approx \left( \frac{1}{2\mathcal{M}'} g^{\alpha \beta }\partial '_{\alpha }\partial '_{\beta } + \mathcal{M}\phi ^{(\mathrm g)} + n e\phi \right) \varPsi $ , where $\phi ^{(\mathrm g)} =\sqrt{g_{00}}$ and $\mathcal{M}'=\mathcal{M}/\phi ^{(\mathrm g)} $ , the correctness of the gravitational  contribution to the potential having been verified to linear order $m\phi ^{(\mathrm g)} $ in the thermal-neutron beam interferometry experiment due to Colella et al. Setting $n=2$ and regarding $\varPsi $ as the quasi-particle wave function, or order parameter, we obtain the generalization of the fundamental macroscopic Ginzburg-Landau equation of superconductivity to curved space–time. Conservation of probability and electrical current requires both electromagnetic gauge and space–time  coordinate conditions to be imposed, which exemplifies the gravito-electromagnetic analogy, particularly in the stationary case, when div ${{\varvec{A}}}=\hbox {div}{{\varvec{A}}}^{(\mathrm g)}=0$ , where ${{\varvec{A}}}^{\alpha }=-A^{\alpha }$ and ${{\varvec{A}}}^{(\mathrm g)\alpha }=-\phi ^{(\mathrm g)}g^{0\alpha }$ . The quantum-cosmological Schrödinger  (Wheeler–DeWitt) equation is also discussed in the $\mathcal{D}$ -dimensional  mini-superspace idealization, with particular regard to the vacuum potential $\mathcal V$ and the characteristics of the ground state, assuming a gravitational  Lagrangian   $L_\mathcal{D}$ which contains higher-derivative  terms up to order $\mathcal{R}^4$ . For the heterotic superstring theory  , $L_\mathcal{D}$ consists of an infinite series in $\alpha '\mathcal{R}$ , where $\alpha '$ is the Regge slope parameter, and in the perturbative approximation $\alpha '|\mathcal{R}| \ll 1$ , $\mathcal V$ is positive semi-definite for $\mathcal{D} \ge 4$ . The maximally symmetric ground state satisfying the field equations is Minkowski  space for $3\le {\mathcal {D}}\le 7$ and anti-de Sitter  space for $8 \le \mathcal {D} \le 10$ .  相似文献

A diamond detector of 3D architecture without any metallization is developed for spectroscopy of ionizing radiation and single particles detection. The carbon electrode system was fabricated using a femtosecond infrared laser ( $\lambda $ = 1,030 nm) to induce graphitization on the surface and inside 4.0  $\times $  4.0  $\times $  0.4 mm $^{3}$ single-crystal chemical vapor deposition diamond slab, resulting in an array of 84 buried graphite pillars of 30  $\upmu $ m diameter formed orthogonally to the surface and connected by surface graphite strips. Sensitivity to ionizing radiation with $^{90}$ Sr $\upbeta $ -source has been measured for the 3D detector and high charge collection efficiency is demonstrated.  相似文献

Let ${Y_{m|n}^{\ell}}$ be the super Yangian of general linear Lie superalgebra for ${\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}}$ . Let ${e \in \mathfrak{gl}_{m\ell|n\ell}}$ be a “rectangular” nilpotent element and ${\mathcal{W}_e}$ be the finite W-superalgebra associated to e. We show that ${Y_{m|n}^{\ell}}$ is isomorphic to ${\mathcal{W}_e}$ .  相似文献

We prove that self-avoiding walk on ${\mathbb{Z}^d}$ is sub-ballistic in any dimension d ≥ 2. That is, writing ${\| u \|}$ for the Euclidean norm of ${u \in \mathbb{Z}^d}$ , and ${\mathsf{P_{SAW}}_n}$ for the uniform measure on self-avoiding walks ${\gamma : \{0, \ldots, n\} \to \mathbb{Z}^d}$ for which γ 0 = 0, we show that, for each v > 0, there exists ${\varepsilon > 0}$ such that, for each ${n \in \mathbb{N}, \mathsf{P_{SAW}}_n \big( {\rm max}\big\{\| \gamma_k \| : 0 \leq k \leq n\big\} \geq vn \big) \leq e^{-\varepsilon n}}$ .  相似文献

We consider a lattice SU(3) QCD model in 2 + 1 dimensions, with two flavors and 2 × 2 spin matrices. An imaginary time functional integral formulation with Wilson’s action is used in the strong coupling regime, i.e. small hopping parameter ${0 < \kappa \ll 1}$ , and much smaller plaquette coupling ${\beta, 0 < \beta \ll \kappa}$ . In this regime, it is known that the low-lying energy-momentum spectrum contains isolated dispersion curves identified with baryons and mesons with asymptotic masses ${m\approx-3\ln\kappa}$ and ${m_m\approx-2\ln\kappa}$ , respectively. We prove the existence of two (labelled by ±) two-baryon bound states for each of the total isospin sectors I = 0,1 and we obtain, in each case, the exact binding energies ${\epsilon_{I\,\pm} }$ (of order ${\kappa^2}$ ) which extend to jointly analytic function in ${\kappa}$ and β. We also prove that these points are the only mass spectrum up to slightly above the bound state masses. Precisely, we show, for ${\alpha_0=\frac 14, \alpha_1=\frac 1{12}, \alpha_2=\frac12, \alpha_3=\frac 34}$ and small ${\delta >0 }$ , that the bound state masses ${2m-\epsilon_{I\,\pm}}$ are the only points in the mass spectrum in ${(0,2m-\epsilon_{I\,\pm}+\delta \alpha_I\kappa^2)}$ , for I = 0,1, and in ${(0,2m-(1+\delta)\alpha_I\kappa^2)}$ , for I = 2,3. These results are exact and validate our previous results obtained in a ladder approximation. The method employs suitable two- and four-point correlations with spectral representations and a lattice Bethe-Salpeter equation. For I = 0,1, a quark, antiquark space-range one potential of order ${\kappa^2}$ is found to be the dominant contribution to the two-baryon interaction and the interaction of the individual quark isospins of one baryon with those of the other is described by permanents. A novel spectral free decomposition (but spectral representation motivated, for real κ and β) of the two-point correlation, after performing a complex extension, is a key ingredient in showing the joint analyticity of the binding energy.  相似文献

This work describes an approach to design a $2\times 2$ optoelectronic switch based on the Mach–Zehnder interferometer with a channel profile of Titanium (Ti) diffused in Potassium niobate ( $\hbox {KNbO}_{3}$ ) at a wavelength of $1.3\,\upmu \hbox {m}$ . The evaluation parameters used are the insertion loss and the extinction ratio. The originality of this work is introducing the $\hbox {KNbO}_{3 }$ crystal as a host while optimizing the Ti strip thickness to provide a remarkable switching performance. Optimization leads to a lower switching voltage of 4 V, an insertion loss of 0.0261 dB and extinction ratio of 29.4 dB. The designed switch has a high switching capability and degree of reliability.  相似文献

In this article, we study the $\frac{1} {2}^ -$ and $\frac{3} {2}^ -$ heavy and doubly heavy baryon states $\Sigma _Q \left( {\frac{1} {2}^ - } \right)$ , $\Xi '_Q \left( {\frac{1} {2}^ - } \right)$ , $\Omega _Q \left( {\frac{1} {2}^ - } \right)$ , $\Xi _{QQ} \left( {\frac{1} {2}^ - } \right)$ , $\Omega _{QQ} \left( {\frac{1} {2}^ - } \right)$ , $\Sigma _Q^* \left( {\frac{3} {2}^ - } \right)$ , $\Xi _Q^* \left( {\frac{3} {2}^ - } \right)$ , $\Omega _Q^* \left( {\frac{3} {2}^ - } \right)$ , $\Xi _{QQ}^* \left( {\frac{3} {2}^ - } \right)$ and $\Omega _{QQ}^* \left( {\frac{3} {2}^ - } \right)$ by subtracting the contributions from the corresponding $\frac{1} {2}^ +$ and $\frac{3} {2}^ +$ heavy and doubly heavy baryon states with the QCD sum rules in a systematic way, and make reasonable predictions for their masses.  相似文献

Equilibrium between the ion exchange membrane and solutions of anions at various valences has been the subject of this investigation. Competitive ion exchange reactions were studied on a strong base anion exchange membrane AMX manufactured by Tokuyama, commercialized by Eurodia, involving Cl?, $ {\text NO}_3^{ - } $ and $ {\text SO}_4^{{2 - }} $ ions. Solution concentrations studied were 0.05 and 0.1 M for all the systems reported. Experiments were performed with sodium as the counter ion, and the temperature was kept constant (T?=?298 K). Ionic exchange isotherms for the binary systems— $ {{\text Cl}^{ - }}/{\text NO}_3^{ - } $ , $ {{\text Cl}^{ - }}/{\text SO}_4^{{2 - }} $ , and $ {\text NO}_3^{ - }/{\text SO}_4^{{2 - }} $ —were established. The obtained results show that the sulfate was the most strongly sorbed, and the selectivity order is $ {\text SO}_4^{{2 - }} > {\text NO}_3^{ - } > {{\text Cl}^{ - }} $ at 0.05 M and $ {\text NO}_3^{ - } > {\text SO}_4^{{2 - }} > {{\text Cl}^{ - }} $ at 0.1 M under the experimental conditions. Selectivity coefficients $ K_{{{{{\text Cl} }^{ - }}}}^{{{\text NO}_3^{ - }}} $ , $ K_{{2{{{\text Cl} }^{ - }}}}^{{{\text SO}_4^{{2 - }}}} $ , and $ K_{{2{\text NO}_3^{ - }}}^{{{\text SO}_4^{{2 - }}}} $ for the three binary systems were determined. All the results given by this membrane were compared with those obtained, in the same conditions, with the RPA membrane (produced by RHONE POULENC). Ternary equilibrium data were taken for $ {{\text Cl}^{ - }}/{\text NO}_3^{ - }/{\text SO}_4^{{2 - }} $ . The prediction of the ternary system based only on the binary data was consistent with the experimental data obtained for this system. The good agreement between the experimental and the predicted data showed that the proposed framework can be considered as an effective method to predict many ternary systems from binary systems.  相似文献

Segmented cladding fiber (SCF) is capable of single mode operation over an extended range of wavelengths while maintaining large mode area. In this paper we report the design of an SCF with mode area as large as 1,825  $\upmu \hbox {m}^{2}$ , suitable for delivery of high peak power femtosecond laser pulses at 1550 and 1064 nm wavelengths. An SCF with such a large-mode area is a few-moded fiber and its design requires careful choice of design parameters to have robustness against mode-coupling effects and bend loss. In this paper we address these issues and report a design of an SCF showing near distortion-free propagation of 100-fs, 53-kW peak power pulses at 1550-nm wavelength with 1,825- $\upmu \hbox {m}^{2}$ mode area through fundamental mode. The same fiber can also deliver 250-fs, 15-kW peak power pulses at 1064-nm wavelength with 1,793- $\upmu \hbox {m}^{2}$ mode area. The fiber has been analyzed by using the radial effective-index method in conjunction with transfer matrix method and the pulse propagation has been studied by solving the nonlinear Schroedinger equation by split-step Fourier method. Such a fiber would find applications in multiphoton microscopy and in biomedical engineering.  相似文献

N-Acetylglucosamine-bearing triterpenoid saponins (GNTS) were reported to be a unique type of saponins with potent anti-tumor activity. In order to study the structure–activity relationship of GNTS, 24 oleanolic acid saponins with ( $1 \rightarrow 3$ )-linked, ( $1\rightarrow 4$ )-linked, ( $1\rightarrow 6$ )-linked $N$ -acetylglucosamine oligosaccharide residues were synthesized in a combinatorial and concise method. The cytotoxicity of these compounds toward the leukemia cell line HL-60 and the colorectal cancer cell line HT-29 could not be improved. Half maximal inhibition below $10\,\upmu \hbox {M}$ was achieved in one single case. The study revealed that the activity decreased following the order of $3^{\prime }>4^{\prime }>6^{\prime }$ glycosyl modifications. GNTS that incorporated (d/l)-xylose and l-arabinose at positions $3^{\prime }$ and $4^{\prime }$ were more potent than those bearing other sugars.  相似文献

The Lie–Rinehart algebra of a (connected) manifold ${\mathcal {M}}$ , defined by the Lie structure of the vector fields, their action and their module structure over ${C^\infty({\mathcal {M}})}$ , is a common, diffeomorphism invariant, algebra for both classical and quantum mechanics. Its (noncommutative) Poisson universal enveloping algebra ${\Lambda_{R}({\mathcal {M}})}$ , with the Lie–Rinehart product identified with the symmetric product, contains a central variable (a central sequence for non-compact ${{\mathcal {M}}}$ ) ${Z}$ which relates the commutators to the Lie products. Classical and quantum mechanics are its only factorial realizations, corresponding to Z  =  i z, z  =  0 and ${z = \hbar}$ , respectively; canonical quantization uniquely follows from such a general geometrical structure. For ${z =\hbar \neq 0}$ , the regular factorial Hilbert space representations of ${\Lambda_{R}({\mathcal{M}})}$ describe quantum mechanics on ${{\mathcal {M}}}$ . For z  =  0, if Diff( ${{\mathcal {M}}}$ ) is unitarily implemented, they are unitarily equivalent, up to multiplicity, to the representation defined by classical mechanics on ${{\mathcal {M}}}$ .  相似文献

We have measured all deuteron analyzing powers ${(A_{y}^{d}, A_{yy}, A_{xx}, A_{xz})}$ for deuteron-proton elastic scattering at 294 MeV/nucleon in order to study the properties of three nucleon forces (3 NFs). Measurement was made at in an angular range of ${\theta_{{\rm c.m.}} = 35.6^{\circ} - 163.0^{\circ}}$ . Obtained data were compared with Faddeev calculations with and without the 3 NFs. At ${\theta_{{\rm c.m.}}\lesssim 120^{\circ}}$ all the data have general agreement with the calculations, while the measured data at ${\theta_{{\rm c.m.}} \gtrsim 120^{\circ}}$ are not explained by any theoretical calculations. These results were consistent with those at 250 MeV/nucleon.  相似文献

Given a conformal QFT local net of von Neumann algebras ${\mathcal {B}_2}$ on the two-dimensional Minkowski spacetime with irreducible subnet ${\mathcal {A} \otimes \mathcal {A}}$ , where ${\mathcal {A}}$ is a completely rational net on the left/right light-ray, we show how to consistently add a boundary to ${\mathcal {B}_2}$ : we provide a procedure to construct a Boundary CFT net ${\mathcal {B}}$ of von Neumann algebras on the half-plane x >  0, associated with ${\mathcal {A}}$ , and locally isomorphic to ${\mathcal {B}_2}$ . All such locally isomorphic Boundary CFT nets arise in this way. There are only finitely many locally isomorphic Boundary CFT nets and we get them all together. In essence, we show how to directly redefine the C* representation of the restriction of ${\mathcal {B}_2}$ to the half-plane by means of subfactors and local conformal nets of von Neumann algebras on S 1.  相似文献

We consider the problem of existence of asymptotic observables in local relativistic theories of massive particles. Let ${\tilde{p}_1}$ and ${\tilde{p}_2}$ be two energy-momentum vectors of a massive particle and let ${\Delta}$ be a small neighbourhood of ${\tilde{p}_1 + \tilde{p}_2}$ . We construct asymptotic observables (two-particle Araki–Haag detectors), sensitive to neutral particles of energy-momenta in small neighbourhoods of ${\tilde{p}_1}$ and ${\tilde{p}_2}$ . We show that these asymptotic observables exist, as strong limits of their approximating sequences, on all physical states from the spectral subspace of ${\Delta}$ . Moreover, the linear span of the ranges of all such asymptotic observables coincides with the subspace of two-particle Haag–Ruelle scattering states with total energy-momenta in ${\Delta}$ . The result holds under very general conditions which are satisfied, for example, in ${\lambda{\phi}_{2}^{4}}$ . The proof of convergence relies on a variant of the phase-space propagation estimate of Graf.  相似文献

One of the best understood families of logarithmic onformal field theories consists of the (1, p) models (p =  2, 3, . . .) of central charge c 1, p =1 ? 6(p ? 1)2/p. This family includes the theories corresponding to the singlet algebras ${\mathcal{M}(p)}$ and the triplet algebras ${\mathcal{W}(p)}$ , as well as the ubiquitous symplectic fermions theory. In this work, these algebras are realised through a coset construction. The ${W^{(2)}_n}$ algebra of level k was introduced by Feigin and Semikhatov as a (conjectured) quantum hamiltonian reduction of ${\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(n)_k}$ , generalising the Bershadsky–Polyakov algebra ${W^{(2)}_3}$ . Inspired by work of Adamovi? for p = 3, vertex algebras ${\mathcal{B}_p}$ are constructed as subalgebras of the kernel of certain screening charges acting on a rank 2 lattice vertex algebra of indefinite signature. It is shown that for p≤5, the algebra ${\mathcal{B}_p}$ is a quotient of ${W^{(2)}_{p-1}}$ at level ?(p ? 1)2/p and that the known part of the operator product algebra of the latter algebra is consistent with this holding for p> 5 as well. The triplet algebra ${\mathcal{W}(p)}$ is then realised as a coset inside the full kernel of the screening operator, while the singlet algebra ${\mathcal{M}(p)}$ is similarly realised inside ${\mathcal{B}_p}$ . As an application, and to illustrate these results, the coset character decompositions are explicitly worked out for p =  2 and 3.  相似文献

Let $\mathcal{B}(\mathcal{H})$ be the set of all bounded linear operators on the separable Hilbert space  $\mathcal{H}$ . A (generalized) quantum operation is a bounded linear operator defined on  $\mathcal{B}(\mathcal{H})$ , which has the form $\varPhi_{\mathcal{A}}(X)=\sum_{i=1}^{\infty}A_{i}XA_{i}^{*}$ , where $A_{i}\in\mathcal{B}(\mathcal{H})$ (i=1,2,…) satisfy $\sum_{i=1}^{\infty}A_{i}A_{i}^{*}\leq \nobreak I$ in the strong operator topology. In this paper, we establish the relationship between the (generalized) quantum operation $\varPhi_{\mathcal{A}}$ and its dual $\varPhi_{\mathcal {A}}^{\dag}$ with respect to the set of fixed points and the noiseless subspace. In particular, we also partially characterize the extreme points of the set of all (generalized) quantum operations and give some equivalent conditions for the correctable quantum channel.  相似文献

We build up local, time translation covariant Boundary Quantum Field Theory nets of von Neumann algebras ${\mathcal A_V}$ on the Minkowski half-plane M + starting with a local conformal net ${\mathcal A}$ of von Neumann algebras on ${\mathbb R}$ and an element V of a unitary semigroup ${\mathcal E(\mathcal A)}$ associated with ${\mathcal A}$ . The case V?=?1 reduces to the net ${\mathcal A_+}$ considered by Rehren and one of the authors; if the vacuum character of ${\mathcal A}$ is summable, ${\mathcal A_V}$ is locally isomorphic to ${\mathcal A_+}$ . We discuss the structure of the semigroup ${\mathcal E(\mathcal A)}$ . By using a one-particle version of Borchers theorem and standard subspace analysis, we provide an abstract analog of the Beurling-Lax theorem that allows us to describe, in particular, all unitaries on the one-particle Hilbert space whose second quantization promotion belongs to ${\mathcal E(\mathcal A^{(0)})}$ with ${\mathcal A^{(0)}}$ the U(1)-current net. Each such unitary is attached to a scattering function or, more generally, to a symmetric inner function. We then obtain families of models via any Buchholz-Mack-Todorov extension of ${\mathcal A^{(0)}}$ . A further family of models comes from the Ising model.  相似文献
