The vibrational spectra of meso-tetraphenylporphyrin diacid (H4TPP2+) have been studied with the density functional theory. Raman and IR spectra of H4TPP2+ and its N-deuterated analogue (D4TPP2+) are measured and compared with the computational results. Complete assignments of observed IR and Raman bands were proposed on the bases of calculation results. The DFT calculations reproduce 140 observed fundamentals with the RMS 8.6 cm-1. The computational as well as the experimental results reveal that the saddle-distortion of porphyrin macrocycle for the diacid leads to a significant effect on its vibrational spectra. Especially, several out-of-plane skeletal modes, which were either unobserved or very weak in the Raman spectra of CuTPP and H2TPP, are activated in the Raman spectra of the diacids. In addition, enhancement for the Raman bands of phenyl CC stretching modes were observed and attributed to the conjugation effect of pi-systems of the phenyl and the porphyrinato macrocycles.  相似文献

The photophysical properties for a series of free-base arylethynyl porphyrins and the corresponding trans-disubstituted tetraphenylporphyrin (H(2)TPP) derivatives lacking arylethynyl functionalities have been studied via electronic absorption and emission spectroscopy in both neutral and diacid forms. Enhanced substituent effects on porphyrin absorption spectra are observed in the arylethynyl porphyrins relative to the H(2)TPP derivatives, owing to the presence of the ethynyl spacer that allows for a coplanar geometry between the porphyrin macrocycle and the appended phenyl substituents. Upon protonation, both series of porphyrins exhibit substantially red shifted absorption and emission spectra and enhanced oscillator strengths, with the magnitude of the spectral shifts being more substantial in the presence of the ethynyl functionalities. Spectral features of the arylethynyl porphyrin bearing p-dimethylamino substituents closely resemble those previously classified as "hyperporphyrin spectra" and are indicative of excited-state charge-transfer character. Protonation of both series of porphyrins results in reduced fluorescence lifetimes and enhanced nonradiative decay rates, and the impact of protonation on these parameters is attenuated in the presence of the arylethynyl functionalities. Our results coupled with previous structural data showing that arylethynyl porphyrins exhibit less structural distortion upon diacid formation relative to H(2)TPP further substantiate the proposal that significant alteration of porphyrin photophysical properties upon diacid formation can be attributed to nonplanar structural distortions induced by protonation.  相似文献

A simple, one‐step, supramolecular strategy was adopted to synthesize SnIV‐porphyrin‐based axially bonded triads and higher oligomers by using meso‐pyridyl SnIV porphyrin, meso‐hydroxyphenyl‐21,23‐dithiaporphyrin, and RuII porphyrin as building blocks and employing complementary and non‐interfering SnIV?O and RuII ??? N interactions. The multiporphyrin arrays are stable and robust and were purified by column chromatography. 1H, 1H–1H COSY and NOESY NMR spectroscopic studies were used to unequivocally deduce the molecular structures of SnIV‐porphyrin‐based triads and higher oligomers. Absorption and electrochemical studies indicated weak interaction among the different porphyrin units in triads and higher oligomers, in support of the supramolecular nature of the arrays. Steady‐state fluorescence studies on triads indicated the possibility of energy transfer in the singlet state from the basal SnIV porphyrin to the axial 21,23‐dithiaporphyrin. However, the higher oligomers were weakly fluorescent due to the presence of heavy RuII porphyrin unit(s), which quench the fluorescence of the SnIV porphyrin and 21,23‐dithiaporphyrin units.  相似文献

Protonated tetraphenylporphine(H2TPP) J-aggregates were prepared by aggregation on the liquid-air interface,Using FTIR spectroscopy,the authors observed the infrared absorption spectra of H2TPP and its J-aggregates.The IR spectra of H2TPP J-aggregates show significant changes compared with that of H2TPP monomer.Intensity changes(e.g.,strong enhancement of the in-plane vibronic mode and weakening of the out-of-plane vibronic mode of phenyi and porphyrin skeletal) were interpreted on the basis of stacking effects.Observation of the same type of bands collapse into single band was explained by the increase in the symmetry of H2TPP molecules.And the new bands at 1635 and 3407 cm-1 indicate the aggregates containing a large amount of bound water.  相似文献

Allyloxyporphyrin‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT‐TPP) were synthesized by radical polymerization and characterized by FTIR, UV/Vis absorption, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy; elemental analysis; TEM; and thermogravimetric analysis. Z‐scan studies revealed that this nanohybrid exhibits enhanced nonlinear optical (NLO) properties compared to a control sample consisting of a covalently unattached physical blend of MWCNTs and porphyrin, as well as to the separate MWCNTs and porphyrin. At the wavelengths used, the mechanism of enhanced optical limiting likely involves reverse saturable absorption, nonlinear scattering, and photoinduced electron/energy transfer between the MWCNTs and the porphyrin. The role of electron/energy transfer in the NLO performance of MWCNT‐TPP was investigated by Raman and fluorescence spectroscopy.  相似文献

To examine the influence of mixed substituents on the structural, electrochemical redox behavior of porphyrins, two new classes of beta-pyrrole mixed substituted free-base tetraphenylporphyrins H2(TPP(Ph)4X4) (X = CH3, H, Br, Cl, CN) and H2(TPP(CH3)4X4) (X = H, Ph, Br, CN) and their metal (M = Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)) complexes have been synthesized effectively using the modified Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. Optical absorption spectra of these porphyrins showed significant red-shift with the variation of X in H2(TPPR4X4), and they induce a 20-30 nm shift in the B band and a 25-100 nm shift in the longest wavelength band [Q(x)(0,0)] relative to the corresponding H2TPPR4 (R = CH3, Ph) derivatives. Crystal structure of a highly sterically crowded Cu(TPP(Ph)4(CH3)4).2CHCl3 complex shows a combination of ruffling and saddling of the porphyrin core while the Zn(TPP(Ph)4Br4(CH3OH)).CH3OH structure exhibits predominantly saddling of the macrocycle. Further, the six-coordinated Ni(TPP(Ph)4(CN)4(Py)2).2(Py) structure shows nearly planar geometry of the porphyrin ring with the expansion of the core. Electrochemical redox behavior of the MTPPR4X4 compounds exhibit dramatic cathodic shift in first ring oxidation potentials (300-500 mV) while the reduction potentials are marginally cathodic in contrast to their corresponding MTPPX4 (X = Br, CN) derivatives. The redox potentials were analyzed using Hammett plots, and the highest occupied molecular orbital-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO-LUMO) gap decreases with an increase in the Hammett parameter of the substituents. Electronic absorption spectral bands of H2TPPR4X4 are unique that their energy lies intermediate to their corresponding data for the H2(TPPX8) (X = CH3, Ph, Br, Cl) derivatives. The dramatic variation in redox potentials and large red-shift in the absorption bands in mixed substituted porphyrins have been explained on the basis of the nonplanarity of the macrocycle and substituent effects.  相似文献

In the present article, tetraphenylporphyrin a new ratiometric fluorescence sensitizer for zinc ion has been proposed. Electronic absorption, emission and (1)H NMR spectral characteristics of meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) have been studied in acetonitrile medium in the presence of zinc perchlorate. Absorption spectral studies indicate the formation of a new complex between zinc ion and the porphyrin moiety in the ground state as distinguished from the characteristics of metalo(zinc) porphyrin compound. The energy of maximum fluorescence of porphyrin shifts towards blue with the addition of Zn(ClO(4))(2). Steady state emission studies point to the existence of two emitting species viz, the solvated and the complexed porphyrin in equilibrium. The fluorescence emission of tetraphenylporphyrin at 651-nm bands decreases while that at 605 nm increases upon zinc ion interaction in acetonitrile. Thus, the TPP can behave as a ratiometric fluorescent sensor. This fluorescence modulation of TPP should be applicable to dual-wavelength measurement of various biomolecules or enzyme activities. (1)H NMR spectra of the porphyrin suffered a radical change with the addition of zinc perchlorate which points to the formation of a new porphyrin complex. This change is due to the difference in the electron-donating ability of the pyrrolic nitrogens before and after complexation with Zn(2+). The values of equilibrium constant for the binding process have been determined in acetone and acetonitrile, in both ground and excited states.  相似文献

Eight novel compounds were prepared by reaction of 5-(bromo- propoxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin with oxazole thiols, 1,3,4-oxadiazole thiols and 1,3,4-thiadiazole thiols, and their structures confirmed by UV-vis, IR, 1H-NMR, MS and elemental analysis. The assessment of indirectly measured 1O(2) production rates against 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl porphyrin (H(2)TPP) were described and the relative singlet oxygen production yields were:porphyrin 5 > porphyrins 1, 3, 4, 6-8, H(2)TPP > porphyrin 2. Porphyrin 4 and porphyrin 7 showed substantial photocleavage activities toward DNA, with over 75% cleavage observed at 40 μM. It suggested that these those porphyrins with nitrogen heterocycle tails are potential photosensitive agents.  相似文献

The photophysical characterization of the two tautomers (1e and 1i) of 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl N-confused free-base porphyrin, as well as the tautomer-locked 2-methyl 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl N-confused free-base porphyrin, was carried out using a combination of steady state and time-resolved optical techniques. N-Confused porphyrins, alternatively called 2-aza-21-carba-porphyrins or inverted porphyrins, are of great interest for their potential as building blocks in assemblies designed for artificial photosynthesis, and understanding their excited-state properties is paramount to future studies in multicomponent arrays. Femtosecond resolved transient absorption experiments reveal spectra that are similar to those of tetraphenylporphyrin (H2TPP) with either Soret or Q-band excitation, with an extinction coefficient for the major absorbing band of 1e that was about a factor of 5 larger than that of H2TPP. The lifetime of the S1 state was determined at a variety of absorption wavelengths for each compound and was found to be consistent with time-resolved fluorescence experiments. These experiments reveal that the externally protonated tautomer (1e) is longer lived (tau = 1.84 ns) than the internally protonated form (1i, tau = 1.47 ns) by approximately 369 ps and that the N-methyl N-confused porphyrin was shorter lived than the tautomeric forms by approximately 317 ps (DMAc) and approximately 396 ps (benzene). Steady-state fluorescence experiments on tautomers 1e and 1i and the N-methyl analogues corroborate these results, with fluorescence quantum yields (Phi(Fl)) of 0.046 (1e, DMAc) and 0.023 (1i, benzene), and 0.025 (DMAc) and 0.018 (benzene) for the N-methyl N-confused porphyrin. The lifetime and quantum yield data was interpreted in terms of structural changes that influence the rate of internal conversion. The absorption and transient absorption spectra of these porphyrins were also examined in the context of DFT calculations at the B3LYP/6-31G(d)//B3LYP/3-21G(d) level of theory and compared to the spectra/electronic structure of H2TPP and tetraphenyl chlorin.  相似文献

Tetrapyrrole rings possess four nitrogen atoms, two of which act as Br?ndsted bases in acidic media. The two protonation steps occur on a close pH range, particularly in the case of meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) derivatives. If the cause of this phenomenon is well known--a protonation-induced distortion of the porphyrin ring--data on stepwise protonation constants and on electronic absorption spectra of monoprotonated TPPs are sparse. A multivariate approach has been systematically applied to a series of glycoconjugated and hydroxylated TPPs, potential anticancer drugs usable in Photodynamic Therapy. The dual purpose was determination of protonation constants and linking substitution with basicity. Hard-modeling version of MCR-ALS (Multivariate Curve Resolution Alternating Least Squares) has given access to spectra and distribution profile of pure components. Spectra of monoprotonated species (H(3)TPP(+)) in solution resemble those of diprotonated species (H(4)TPP(2+)), mainly differing by a slight blue-shift of bands. Overlap of H(3)TPP(+) and H(4)TPP(2+) spectra reinforces the difficulty to evidence an intermediate form only present in low relative abundance. Depending on macrocycle substitution, pK values ranged from 3.5±0.1 to 5.1±0.1 for the first protonation and from 3.2±0.2 to 4.9±0.1 for the second one. Inner nitrogens' basicity is affected by position, number and nature of peripheral substituents depending on their electrodonating character. pK values have been used to establish a predictive Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) model, relying on atom-type electrotopological indices. This model accurately describes our results and should be applied to new TPP derivatives in a drug-design perspective.  相似文献

The synthetic route of partially beta-halogenated via a "metal-assisted" reaction and perhalogenated terbium complexes is described. This protocol allows the facile insertion of the halogens (bromines or chlorides) to the porphyrin peripheral positions. The electronic absorption spectra and the redox potentials of the free porphyrins as well as the terbium complexes are dramatically affected as the number of halogen atoms increase. In fact, two antagonistic effects are responsible for that, the inductive and the distortion effects on the porphyrin ring. They result in a red shift for the Soret band and a stabilization/destabilization of the HOMOs/LUMOs which in turn is manifested by variations on the redox potentials. The novel crystal structure of the Ni(Cl(8)TPP) is discussed in great detail and compared with the previously reported structures of Tb(Cl(8)TPP) (OAc)(DMSO)(2) x 3PhCH(3) x MeOH and H(2)(Br(8)TPP), as well as with other perhalogenated nickel porphyrins available in the literature.  相似文献

Porphyrin-manganese(V)-oxo and porphyrin-manganese(IV)-oxo species were produced in organic solvents by laser flash photolysis (LFP) of the corresponding porphyrin-manganese(III) perchlorate and chlorate complexes, respectively, permitting direct kinetic studies. The porphyrin systems studied were 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP), 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin (TPFPP), and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-methylpyridinium)porphyrin (TMPyP). The order of reactivity for (porphyrin)Mn(V)(O) derivatives in self-decay reactions in acetonitrile and in oxidations of substrates was (TPFPP) > (TMPyP) > (TPP). Representative rate constants for reaction of (TPFPP)Mn(V)(O) in acetonitrile are k = 6.1 x 10(5) M(-1) s(-1) for cis-stilbene and k = 1.4 x 10(5) M(-1) s(-1) for diphenylmethane, and the kinetic isotope effect in oxidation of ethylbenzene and ethylbenzene-d(10) is k(H)/k(D) = 2.3. Competitive oxidation reactions conducted under catalytic conditions display approximately the same relative rate constants as were found in the LFP studies of (porphyrin)Mn(V)(O) derivatives. The apparent rate constants for reactions of (porphyrin)Mn(IV)(O) species show inverted reactivity order with (TPFPP) < (TMPyP) < (TPP) in reactions with cis-stilbene, triphenylamine, and triphenylphosphine. The inverted reactivity results because (porphyrin)Mn(IV)(O) disproportionates to (porphyrin)Mn(III)X and (porphyrin)Mn(V)(O), which is the primary oxidant, and the equilibrium constants for disproportionation of (porphyrin)Mn(IV)(O) are in the order (TPFPP) < (TMPyP) < (TPP). The fast comproportionation reaction of (TPFPP)Mn(V)(O) with (TPFPP)Mn(III)Cl to give (TPFPP)Mn(IV)(O) (k = 5 x 10(8) M(-1) s(-1)) and disproportionation reaction of (TPP)Mn(IV)(O) to give (TPP)Mn(V)(O) and (TPP)Mn(III)X (k approximately 2.5 x 10(9) M(-1) s(-1)) were observed. The relative populations of (porphyrin)Mn(V)(O) and (porphyrin)Mn(IV)(O) were determined from the ratios of observed rate constants for self-decay reactions in acetonitrile and oxidation reactions of cis-stilbene by the two oxo derivatives, and apparent disproportionation equilibrium constants for the three systems in acetonitrile were estimated. A model for oxidations under catalytic conditions is presented.  相似文献

The structure and properties of mixed monolayer or LB film of 5,10,15,20-tetra-4-oxy(2-stearic acid)phenyl porphyrin/C60 were studied. A isotherms and small angle X-ray diffraction (SAXD) results show that C60 molecules were incorporated into the cavities of por-phyrin molecules in mixed monolayer and LB film . UV-vis spectra of mixed LB films show that the absorption intensity of porphyrin varied compared with pure porphyrin film, probably arising from the interactions between C60 and porphyrin ring. C60 molecules in mixed systems are well-dispersed. The TPP(CO2H)/C60 mixed LB film is a kind of two-dimensional host-guest system.  相似文献

In this work is reported the preparation and characterization of 5,10,15,20‐tetraphenylporphyrin (H2TPP) films at the water‐air interfaces. The surface pressure‐area isotherms (π‐A) and UV‐Vis spectroscopy were used to investigate the effect of the spreading methods and parameters on the porphyrin monolayer formation. Also, Langmuir‐Blodgett (LB) and Langmuir‐Schaefer (LS) films were deposited onto glass substrates in order to study the conformation changes in porphyrin molecular packing. Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) was utilized as the active solid substrate for the development of the NO2 gas sensor based on the H2TPP molecular films. The results of π‐A curves have clearly shown the significant contribution of the preparation methods and processing parameters on the conformation of porphyrin molecular films. The UV‐Vis spectroscopy results using polarized absorption dichroism have indicated different molecular packing for porphyrin films deposited by LB and LS methods, with relative tilted angles of 50° ± 5° and 35° ± 5°, respectively. Moreover, the QCM response has given strong evidence that H2TPP porphyrin molecular films have performed as NO2 chemsensor. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Optical absorption spectra of one-electron reduced species of copper(II) and oxovanadium(IV) tetraphenylporphyrins. Cu(II)TPP and V(IV)OTPP, in 2-methyltetrahydrofuran at 77 K reveal that not the central metal but the porphyrin ligand is reduced by an excess electron. The triplet ESR spectrum resulting from the spin-spin interaction between two odd electrons located on the porphyrin ligand and the central metal is observed for the one-electron reduced species of V(IV)OTPP while not for that of Cu(II)TPP.  相似文献

5,10, 15-Triphenyl-20-{2- [α- (adenine-9 ) acetylamino]} phenyl porphyrin ( 1 ), 5,10, 15-triphenyl-20-{2-[α-(cytosine-1)acetylamino]} phenyl porphyrin (2), 5, 10, 15-triphenyl-20-{4-[α-(cytosine-1)ethoxy]} phenyl porphyrin (3) and their zinc complexes Zn-1, Zn-2 and Zn-3 have been prepared and characterized by ^1H NMR spectra, elemental analyses, electronic absorption spectra and mass spectra (FAB). Intramolecular π-π interactions and intramolecular metal-~ interaction for 1, 2, Zn-1,and Zn-2 have been investigated by several methods. ^1H NMR studies demonstrate that the porphyrin π-system in 1 and 2 is parallel to the adenine and the cytosine aromatic ring, respectively. The electronic absorption spectral properties of free porphyrin derivatives and their zinc complexes have been compared with those of H2TPP and ZnTPP. The results show that the UV-vis spectra of 1 and 2 are the same as that of H2TPP,whereas the spectra of their zinc complexes show 7 nm red shifts of the Soret bands compared to that of ZnTPP. The emission spectra of Zn-1 and Zn-2 are independent of excitation wavelength. From combination of the evidence of absorption and emission spectra it is suggested the existence of intramolecular metal-π interaction in Zn-1 and Zn-2. The results of conformational analysis agreed quite nicely with that of experiments, thus it was further to validate the experimental conclusions.  相似文献

采用紫外-可见分光光度法研究了溴代卟啉(H2TPPBrx)在N,N-二甲基甲酰胺(DMF)中的吸收光谱性质,并测定了其在非水溶剂DMF中与HClO4反应的质子化常数。结果表明H2TPP,H2TPPBr2在DMF溶剂中与高氯酸反应得到两个质子生成[H4TPP]2 和[H4TPPBrx]2 ,而H2TPPBr3,H2TPPBr4只能得到一个质子生成[H4TPPBrx] 和[H4TPPBrx] ,其质子化常数分别为:lgK1=3.28,lgK2=2.86,lgK3=2.16,lgK4=1.93。  相似文献
