The boundary measure method is applied to transfer the form of the integral equation in order to use the collocation method or Galerkin method. A simple way to computer the coefficients of the wavelet series is also introduced. In this paper, we consider the problem of optimization of adaptive direct methods of operator equations. Adaptivity of a direct method is understood in the sense that the subspace on the basis of which it is constructed is chosen depending on the operator of the concrete equation (otherwise, nonadaptive direct method is then concerned), which would essentially let us increase the precision. For some classes of the second kind of Fredhlom integral equations with anisotropic smooth kernels we determine the exact order of the error of adaptive direct methods, and we also give an optimal algorithm. We are concerned with the numerical treatment of boundary integral equations by the adaptive wavelet boundary element method. In particular, we consider the second kind Fredholm integral equation for the double layer potential operator on patchwise smooth manifolds contained in ?3. The corresponding operator equations are treated by adaptive implementations that are in complete accordance with the underlying theory. The numerical experiments demonstrate that adaptive methods really pay off in this setting. The observed convergence rates fit together very well with the theoretical predictions based on the Besov regularity of the exact solution.  相似文献

In this paper, polynomially-based discrete M-Galerkin and M-collocation methods are proposed to solve nonlinear Fredholm integral equation with a smooth kernel. Using su?ciently accurate numerical quadrature rule, we establish superconvergence results for the approximate and iterated approximate solutions of discrete Legendre M-Galerkin and M-collocation methods in both infinity and L2-norm. In this paper we present a characterization of those smooth piecewise polynomial collocation spaces that lead to divergent collocation solutions for Volterra integral equations of the second kind. The key to these results is an equivalence result between such collocation solutions and collocation solutions in slightly smoother spaces for initial-value problems for ordinary differential equations. For the latter problems Mülthei (1979/1980) established a complete divergence (and convergence) theory. Our analysis can be extended to furnish divergence results for smooth collocation solutions to Volterra integral equations of the first kind. Fractional multistep methods were introduced by C. Lubich for the quadrature of Abel integral operators and the solution of weakly singular Volterra integral equations of the first kind with exactly given right-hand sides. In the current paper, we consider the regularizing properties of these methods to solve the mentioned integral equations of the first kind for perturbed right-hand sides.
