In this paper information markets with perfect patent protection and only one initial owner of the information are studied by means of cooperative game theory. To each information market of this type a cooperative game with sidepayments is constructed. These cooperative games are called information (market) games. The set of all information games with fixed player set is a cone in the set of all cooperative games with the same player set. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given in order that a cooperative game is an information game. The core of this kind of games is not empty and is also the minimal subsolution of the game. The core is the image of an (n-1)-dimensional hypercube under an affine transformation, (= hyperparallellopiped), the nucleolus and -value coincide with the center of the core. The Shapley value is computed and may lie inside or outside the core. The Shapley value coincides with the nucleolus and the -value if and only if the information game is convex. In this case the core is also a stable set.  相似文献

In this paper we derive a multi-choice TU game from r-replica of exchange economy with continuous, concave and monetary utility functions, and prove that the cores of the games converge to a subset of the set of Edgeworth equilibria of exchange economy as r approaches to infinity. We prove that the dominance core of each balanced multi-choice TU game, where each player has identical activity level r, coincides with the dominance core of its corresponding r-replica of exchange economy. We also give an extension of the concept of the cover of the game proposed by Shapley and Shubik (J Econ Theory 1: 9-25, 1969) to multi-choice TU games and derive some sufficient conditions for the nonemptyness of the core of multi-choice TU game by using the relationship among replica economies, multi-choice TU games and their covers.  相似文献

Monderer et al. (Int J Game Theory 21(1):27–39, 1992) proved that the core is included in the set of the weighted Shapley values in TU games. The purpose of this paper is to extend this result to NTU games. We first show that the core is included in the closure of the positively weighted egalitarian solutions introduced by Kalai and Samet (Econometrica 53(2):307–327, 1985). Next, we show that the weighted version of the Shapley NTU value by Shapley (La Decision, aggregation et dynamique des ordres de preference, Editions du Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Paris, pp 251–263, 1969) does not always include the core. These results indicate that, in view of the relationship to the core, the egalitarian solution is a more desirable extension of the weighted Shapley value to NTU games. As a byproduct of our approach, we also clarify the relationship between the core and marginal contributions in NTU games. We show that, if the attainable payoff for the grand coalition is represented as a closed-half space, then any element of the core is attainable as the expected value of marginal contributions.  相似文献

In the context of cooperative games with transferable utility Hamiache (Int J Game Theory 30:279–289, 2001) utilized continuity, the inessential game property and associated consistency to axiomatize the well-known Shapley value (Ann Math Stud 28:307–317, 1953). The question then arises: “Do there exist linear, symmetric values other than the Shapley value that satisfy associated consistency?”. In this Note we give an affirmative answer to this question by showing that a linear, symmetric value satisfies associated consistency if and only if it is a linear combination of the Shapley value and the equal-division solution. In addition, we offer an explicit formula for generating all such solutions and show how the structure of the null space of the Shapley value contributes to its unique position in Hamiache’s result.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce axiomatically a new value for cooperative TU games satisfying the efficiency, additivity, and symmetry axioms of Shapley (1953) and some new postulate connected with the average marginal contributions of the members of coalitions which can form. Our solution is referred to as the solidarity value. The reason is that its interpretation can be based on the assumption that if a coalition, sayS, forms, then the players who contribute toS more than the average marginal contribution of a member ofS support in some sense their weaker partners inS. We prove that both the nucleolus and the core-center, i.e., the mass center of the core, of an m-sided Böhm-Bawerk assignment market can be respectively computed from the nucleolus and the core-center of a convex game defined on the set of m sectors. What is more, in the calculus of the nucleolus of this latter game only singletons and coalitions containing all agents but one need to be taken into account. All these results simplify the computation of the nucleolus and the core-center of a multi-sided Böhm-Bawerk assignment market with a large number of agents. As a consequence we can show that, contrary to the bilateral case, for multi-sided Böhm-Bawerk assignment markets the nucleolus and the core-center do not coincide in general.  相似文献

The nucleolus of a TU game is a solution concept whose main attraction is that it always resides in any nonempty -core. In this paper we generalize the nucleolus to an arbitrary pair (,F), where is a topological space andF is a finite set of real continuous functions whose domain is . For such pairs we also introduce the least core concept. We then characterize the nucleolus forclasses of such pairs by means of a set of axioms, one of which requires that it resides in the least core. It turns out that different classes require different axiomatic characterizations.One of the classes consists of TU-games in which several coalitions may be nonpermissible and, moreover, the space of imputations is required to be a certain generalized core. We call these gamestruncated games. For the class of truncated games, one of the axioms is a new kind ofreduced game property, in which consistency is achieved even if some coalitions leave the game, being promised the nucleolus payoffs. Finally, we extend Kohlberg's characterization of the nucleolus to the class of truncated games.  相似文献

Curiel, Potters, Prasad, Tijs and Veltman (1993) introduced component additive games which are cooperative TU games that arise by imposing an order on the player set. Further, they introduced the -rule which allocates a core element to each component additive game.In this paper we consider the class of restricted component additive games that arise by restricting the attention to head-tail coalitions. The extreme points of the corresponding restricted core are characterized. Further, it is shown that the -rule is the barycenter of the corresponding restricted core and that the -rule coincides with the nucleolus of this restricted game.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an exchange economy à la Shitovitz (Econometrica 41:467–501, 1973), with atoms and an atomless set. We associate with it a strategic market game of the kind first proposed by Lloyd S. Shapley, known as the Shapley window model. We analyze the relationship between the set of the Cournot–Nash allocations of the strategic market game and the Walras allocations of the exchange economy with which it is associated. We show, with an example, that even when atoms are countably infinite, any Cournot–Nash allocation of the game is not a Walras allocation of the underlying exchange economy. Accordingly, in the original spirit of Cournot (Recherches sur les principes mathématiques de la théorie des richesses. Hachette, Paris, 1838), we partially replicate the mixed exchange economy by increasing the number of atoms, without affecting the atomless part, and ensuring that the measure space of agents remains finite. Our main theorem shows that any sequence of Cournot–Nash allocations of the strategic market games associated with the partial replications of the exchange economy has a limit point for each trader and that the assignment determined by these limit points is a Walrasian allocation of the original economy.  相似文献

We define multilinear extensions for multichoice games and relate them to probabilistic values and semivalues. We apply multilinear extensions to show that the Banzhaf value for a compound multichoice game is not the product of the Banzhaf values of the component games, in contrast to the behavior in simple games. Following Owen (Manag Sci 18:64–79, 1972), we integrate the multilinear extension over a simplex to construct a version of the Shapley value for multichoice games. We compare this new Shapley value to other extensions of the Shapley value to multichoice games. We also show how the probabilistic value (resp. semivalue, Banzhaf value, Shapley value) of a multichoice game is equal to the probabilistic value (resp. semivalue, Banzhaf value, Shapley value) of an appropriately defined TU decomposition game. Finally, we explain how semivalues, probabilistic values, the Banzhaf value, and this Shapley value may be viewed as the probability that a player makes a difference to the outcome of a simple multichoice game.  相似文献

We propose a new more general approach to TU-games and their efficient values, significantly different from the classical one. It leads to extended TU-games described by a triplet \((N,v,\Omega )\), where (Nv) is a classical TU-game on a finite grand coalition N, and \(\Omega \in {\mathbb {R}}\) is a game worth to be shared between the players in N. Some counterparts of the Shapley value, the equal division value, the egalitarian Shapley value and the least square prenucleolus are defined and axiomatized on the set of all extended TU-games. As simple corollaries of the obtained results, we additionally get some new axiomatizations of the Shapley value and the egalitarian Shapley value. Also the problem of independence of axioms is widely discussed.  相似文献

Single–valued solutions for the case of two-sided market games without product differentiation, also known as Böhm–Bawerk horse market games, are analyzed. The nucleolus is proved to coincide with the τ value, and is thus the midpoint of the core. Largeness of the core is sufficient for stability of the core. In general the necessity is not known. In this paper we answer affirmatively the necessity for symmetric games. We also prove its equivalence to n specified vectors being imputations and also to the convexity of the lower boundary of the set of all acceptable pay-off vectors of the game. In this paper we establish the equivalence of a condition given by Shapley to the newly evolved condition, thereby give an alternate proof to Shapley’s condition. We study the relation between the fuzzy core and balancedness for fuzzy games. For regular games, this relation has been studied by Bondareva (Problemy Kibernet 10:119–139, 1963) and Shapley (Naval Res Logist Q 14: 453–460, 1967). First, we gain insight in this relation when we analyse situations where the fuzzy game is continuous. Our main result shows that any fuzzy game has a non-empty core if and only if it is balanced. We also consider deposit games to illustrate the use of the main result.  相似文献

For 2-convex n-person cooperative TU games, the nucleolus is determined as some type of constrained equal award rule. Its proof is based on Maschler, Peleg, and Shapley’s geometrical characterization for the intersection of the prekernel with the core. Pairwise bargaining ranges within the core are required to be in equilibrium. This system of non-linear equations is solved and its unique solution agrees with the nucleolus.  相似文献

This note extends the solution concept of the core for traditional transferable-utility (TU) games to multi-choice TU games, which we name the unit-level-core. It turns out that the unit-level-core of a multi-choice TU game is a “replicated subset” of the core of a corresponding “replicated” TU game. We propose an extension of the theorem of Bondareva (Probl Kybern 10:119–139, 1963) and Shapley (Nav Res Logist Q 14:453–460, 1967) to multi-choice games. Also, we introduce the reduced games for multi-choice TU games and provide an axiomatization of the unit-level-core on multi-choice TU games by means of consistency and its converse.  相似文献

In the field of cooperative games with restricted cooperation, various restrictions on coalition formation are studied. The most studied restrictions are those that arise from restricted communication and hierarchies. This survey discusses several models of hierarchy restrictions and their relation with communication restrictions. In the literature, there are results on game properties, Harsanyi dividends, core stability, and various solutions that generalize existing solutions for TU-games. In this survey, we mainly focus on axiomatizations of the Shapley value in different models of games with a hierarchically structured player set, and their applications. Not only do these axiomatizations provide insight in the Shapley value for these models, but also by considering the types of axioms that characterize the Shapley value, we learn more about different network structures. A central model of games with hierarchies is that of games with a permission structure where players in a cooperative transferable utility game are part of a permission structure in the sense that there are players that need permission from other players before they are allowed to cooperate. This permission structure is represented by a directed graph. Generalizations of this model are, for example, games on antimatroids, and games with a local permission structure. Besides discussing these generalizations, we briefly discuss some applications, in particular auction games and hierarchically structured firms.  相似文献
