On (co)homology locally connected spaces

We prove that there exists a cohomology locally connected compact metrizable space which is not homology locally connected. In the category of compact Hausdorff spaces a similar result was proved earlier by G.E. Bredon.     

Measure homology and singular homology are isometrically isomorphic

Measure homology is a variation of singular homology designed by Thurston in his discussion of simplicial volume. Zastrow and Hansen showed independently that singular homology (with real coefficients) and measure homology coincide algebraically on the category of CW-complexes. It is the aim of this paper to prove that this isomorphism is isometric with respect to the ℓ¹-seminorm on singular homology and the seminorm on measure homology induced by the total variation. This, in particular, implies that one can calculate the simplicial volume via measure homology – as already claimed by Thurston. For example, measure homology can be used to prove Gromov's proportionality principle of simplicial volume.

Module-relative-Hochschild (co)homology of tensor products

In this paper, we consider the module-relative-Hochschild homology and cohomology of tensor products of algebras and relate them to those of the factor algebras. Moreover, we show that the tensor product is formally smooth if and only if one of its factor algebras is formally smooth and the other is separable.     

Hochschild and cyclic (co)homology of superadditive categories

We define the Hochschild and cyclic (co)homology groups for superadditive categories and show that these (co)homology groups are graded Morita invariants. We also show that the Hochschild and cyclic homology are compatible with the tensor product of superadditive categories.     

Hochschild and cyclic homology of finite type algebras

We study Hochschild and cyclic homology of finite type algebras using abelian stratifications of their primitive ideal spectrum. Hochschild homology turns out to have a quite complicated behavior, but cyclic homology can be related directly to the singular cohomology of the strata. We also briefly discuss some connections with the representation theory of reductive p-adic groups.     

Hochschild （Co）homology of Galois Coverings of Grassmann Algebras

Let ∧ be the Z2-Galois covering of the Grassmann algebra A over a field k of characteristic not equal to 2. In this paper, the dimensional formulae of Hochschild homology and cohomology groups of ∧ are calculated explicitly. And the cyclic homology of∧ can also be calculated when the underlying field is of characteristic zero. As a result, we prove that there is an isomorphism from i≥1 HH^i（∧） to i≥1 HH^i（∧）.

Actions of totally disconnected groups and equivariant singular homology

We study equivariant singular homology in the case of actions of totally disconnected locally compact groups on topological spaces. Theorem A says that if G is a totally disconnected locally compact group and X is a G-space, then any short exact sequence of covariant coefficient systems for G induces a long exact sequence of corresponding equivariant singular homology groups of the G-space X. In particular we consider the case where G is a totally disconnected compact group, i.e., a profinite group, and G acts freely on X. Of special interest is the case where G is a p-adic group, p a prime. The conjecture that no p-adic group, p a prime, can act effectively on a connected topological manifold, is namely known to be equivalent to the famous Hilbert-Smith conjecture. The Hilbert-Smith conjecture is the statement that, if a locally compact group G acts effectively on a connected topological manifold M, then G is a Lie group.     

Existence and uniqueness theorems for singular anisotropic quasilinear elliptic boundary value problems

On bounded domains we consider the anisotropic problems in with 1$"> and on and in with and on . Moreover, we generalize these boundary value problems to space-dimensions 2$">. Under geometric conditions on and monotonicity assumption on we prove existence and uniqueness of positive solutions.

ASYMPTOTIC SOLUTION OF SINGULARLY PERTURBED PROBLEM FOR A NONLINEAR SINGULAR EQUATION

The singularly perturbed initial value problem for a nonlinear singular equation is considered. By using a simple and special method the asymptotic behavior of solution is studied.     

Cup and cap products in intersection (co)homology

We construct cup and cap products in intersection (co)homology with field coefficients. The existence of the cap product allows us to give a new proof of Poincaré duality in intersection (co)homology which is similar in spirit to the usual proof for ordinary (co)homology of manifolds.     

On the (co)homology theory of index category

In the present work the different types of regular index categories are given. The related cohomology groups of some of these categories are studied. We give some properties of index category related with monoid and algebra over it.     

On the vanishing of (co)homology over local rings

Considering modules of finite complete intersection dimension over commutative Noetherian local rings, we prove (co)homology vanishing results in which we assume the vanishing of nonconsecutive (co)homology groups. In fact, the (co)homology groups assumed to vanish may be arbitrarily far apart from each other.     

On the Hochschild (co)homology of quantum homogeneous spaces

The recent result of Brown and Zhang establishing Poincaré duality in the Hochschild (co)homology of a large class of Hopf algebras is extended to right coideal subalgebras over which the Hopf algebra is faithfully flat, and applied to the standard Podle? quantum 2-sphere.     

Global Hochschild (co-)homology of singular spaces

We introduce Hochschild (co-)homology of morphisms of schemes or analytic spaces and study its fundamental properties. In analogy with the cotangent complex we introduce the so-called (derived) Hochschild complex of a morphism; the Hochschild cohomology and homology groups are then the Ext and Tor groups of that complex. We prove that these objects are well defined, extend the known cases, and have the expected functorial and homological properties such as graded commutativity of Hochschild cohomology and existence of the characteristic homomorphism from Hochschild cohomology to the (graded) centre of the derived category.
