This paper investigates the multivariable identification and controller design for the longitudinal channel of a Boeing 747 transport. The transfer function matrix of the system is identified using the prediction error (PE) identification method with multivariable ARX model. An ellipsoidal parametric uncertainty set is constructed from the covariance matrix of the identified parameters. It contains the parameters of actual system at a certain probability level. The identified models and the associated uncertainty sets are validated by measuring the worst-case ν-gap and then compared with the maximum value of the generalized stability margin. In automatic flight control system or autopilots, multiple specifications criteria are needed to be satisfied concurrently, such as good holding (small static altitude holding error), fast response, smooth transition (less oscillation, overshoot). The design of a Multiple Simultaneous Specifications (MSS) controller effectively and practically is a very significant and challenging job. Liu and Mills [H.H.T. Liu, J.K. A hierarchical production control framework for a flexible manufacturing system is proposed. The machines in the system are subject to failures in a wide spectrum band. At first, failures are clustered near some discrete points on the failure spectrum in order to define the hierarchical model. Each level in the hierarchy corresponds to a discrete point on the failure spectrum. At each level, faster varying failures are modelled by their mean behaviour, and more slowly varying failures are treated as static. Then, a hierarchical controller of multiple time scale type is proposed. System control at each level is based on the work of Kimemia and Gershwin. Simulation results conclude the paper. 相似文献

This paper studies an NP-hard multi-period production–distribution problem to minimize the sum of three costs: production setups, inventories and distribution. This problem is solved by a very recent form of metaheuristic called memetic algorithm with population management (MA∣PM). Contrary to classical two-phase methods (production planning, then distribution planning), the algorithm simultaneously tackles production and distribution decisions. Several versions with different population management strategies are evaluated and compared with a two-phase heuristic and a Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP), on 90 randomly generated instances with 20 periods and 50, 100 or 200 customers. The significant savings obtained compared to the two other methods confirm both the interest of integrating production and distribution decisions and of using the MA∣PM template. 相似文献

We study a pure assemble-to-order system subject to multiple demand classes where customer orders arrive according to a compound Poisson process. The finished product is assembled from m different components that are produced on m distinct production facilities in a make-to-stock fashion. We show that the optimal production policy of each component is a state-dependent base-stock policy and the optimal inventory allocation policy is a multi-level state-dependent rationing policy. Using numerical experimentation, we first study the system behavior as a function of order size variability and order size. We show that the optimal average cost rate is more sensitive to order size variability than to order size. We also compare the optimal policy to the first-come first-serve policy and show that there is great benefit to inventory rationing. We also propose two simple heuristics and show that these can effectively mimic the optimal policy which is generally much more difficult to determine and, especially, to implement. 相似文献

In this paper, we study a system consisting of a manufacturer or supplier serving several retailers or clients. The manufacturer produces a standard product in a make-to-stock fashion in anticipation of orders emanating from n retailers with different contractual agreements hence ranked/prioritized according to their importance. Orders from the retailers are non-unitary and have sizes that follow a discrete distribution. The total production time is assumed to follow a k0-Erlang distribution. Order inter-arrival time for class l demand is assumed to follow a kl-Erlang distribution. Work-in-process as well as the finished product incur a, per unit per unit of time, carrying cost. Unsatisfied units from an order from a particular demand class are assumed lost and incur a class specific lost sale cost. The objective is to determine the optimal production and inventory allocation policies so as to minimize the expected total (discounted or average) cost. We formulate the problem as a Markov decision process and show that the optimal production policy is of the base-stock type with base-stock levels non-decreasing in the demand stages. We also show that the optimal inventory allocation policy is a rationing policy with rationing levels non-decreasing in the demand stages. We also study several important special cases and provide, through numerical experiments, managerial insights including the effect of the different sources of variability on the operating cost and the benefits of such contracts as Vendor Managed Inventory or Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment. Also, we show that a heuristic that ignores the dependence of the base-stock and rationing levels on the demands stages can perform very poorly compared to the optimal policy. 相似文献

We consider a multi-product two-stage production/distribution system design problem (PDSD) where a fixed number of capacitated distribution centers are to be located with respect to capacitated suppliers (plants) and retail locations (customers) while minimizing the total costs in the system. We present a mixed-integer problem formulation that facilitates the development of efficient heuristic procedures. We provide meta-heuristic procedures, including a population-based scatter search with path relinking and trajectory-based local and tabu search, for the solution of the problem. We also develop efficient construction heuristics and transshipment heuristics that are incorporated into the heuristic procedures for the solution of subproblems. We present extensive computational results that show the high performance of the solution approaches. We obtain smaller than 1.0% average optimality gaps with acceptable runtimes, even for relatively large problems. The computational results also demonstrate the effectiveness of the construction and transshipment heuristics that impact the solution quality and overall runtimes. 相似文献

To support integration of design and process planning, a reference model has been developed. This reference model represents the basis for a new methodology for integrated design and process planning which enables a Simultaneous Engineering approach in the early stages of product development. The reference model consists of four partial models. These are the activity model, the information model, the technical system model and the model of integrating methods. Using these models, the methodology enables a concurrent processing of design and process planning activities with regard to different components of a product. Furthermore, the methodology covers planning methods as well as execution methods, to support early transmission of information to downstream activities and a feedback of information to upstream activities within the process chain of design and process planning. 相似文献

In Distribution System Design, one minimizes total costs related to the number, locations and sizes of warehouses, and the assignment of warehouses to customers. The resulting system, while optimal in a strategic sense, may not be the best choice if operational aspects such as vehicle routing are also considered.We formulate a multicommodity, capacitated distribution planning model as anon-linear, mixed integer program. Distribution from factories to customers is two-staged via depots (warehouses) whose number and location must be chosen. Vehicle routes from depots to customers are established by considering the “fleet size and mix” problem, which also incorporates strategic decisions on fleet makeup and vehicle numbers of each type. This problem is solved as a generalized assignment problem, within an algorithm for the overall distribution/routing problem that is based on Benders decomposition. We furnish two version of our algorithm denoted Technique I and II. The latter is an enhaancement of the former and is employed at the user's discretion. In this paper the authors address a pressurized water distribution network design problem for irrigation purposes. Two mixed binary nonlinear programming models are proposed for this NP-hard problem. Furthermore, a heuristic algorithm is presented for the problem, which considers a decomposition sequential scheme, based on linearization of the second model, coupled with constructive and local search procedures designed to achieve improved feasible solutions. To evaluate the robustness of the method we tested it on several instances generated from a real application. The best solutions obtained are finally compared with solutions provided by standard software. These computational experiments enable the authors to conclude that the decomposition sequential heuristic is a good approach to this difficult real problem. 相似文献

This paper investigates the integration of the employee timetabling and production scheduling problems. At the first level, we manage a classical employee timetabling problem. At the second level, we aim at supplying a feasible production schedule for a set of interruptible tasks with qualification requirements and time-windows. Instead of hierarchically solving these two problems as in the current practice, we try here to integrate them and propose two exact methods to solve the resulting problem. The former is based on a Benders decomposition while the latter relies on a specific decomposition and a cut generation process. The relevance of these different approaches is discussed here through experimental results. 相似文献

This paper develops a more general production-inventory model for a single-vendor–single-buyer integrated system. Unlike the hitherto existing production-inventory models for the vendor–buyer system, the present model neither requires the buyer’s unit holding cost greater than the vendor’s nor assumes the structure of shipment policy. Secondly, the model is extended to the situation with shortages permitted, based on shortages being allowed to occur only for the buyer. Thirdly, the paper also presents a corresponding production-inventory model for a deteriorating item for the integrated system. The solution procedures are provided for finding the optimal production and shipment policies and illustrated with numerical examples. Three significant insights are shown: (1) no matter whether the buyer’s unit holding cost is greater than the vendor’s or not, the present model always performs best in reducing the average total cost as compared to the hitherto existing models; (2) if the buyer’s unit holding cost is less than the vendor’s, the optimal shipment policy for the integrated system will only comprise shipments with successive shipment sizes increasing by a fixed factor. It is different from that obtained by Hill [Hill, R.M., 1999. The optimal production and shipment policy for the single-vendor single-buyer integrated production-inventory problem. A multiple-objective hierarchical production planning and scheduling model is developed that integrates aggregate type decisions, family disaggregate decisions, lotsizing and scheduling of the jobs. It is assumed that demand and production failure are subject to uncertainties. Stochastic programming with recourse using a constraint sample approximation method is used to incorporate random demand and production failure into the model. The model evaluates final production plans, updates the demand forecasts and proceeds on a rolling horizon manner. Experimental results show that it is sufficient to generate and incorporate into the aggregate type model a small sample of the stochastic constraints from an infinite set of scenarios. A heuristic scheduling algorithm provides detailed information regarding the progress of jobs through work centers. This information is extremely useful in resolving infeasibilities during the production process. Other features of the model are also reported. 相似文献

The problems arising in the automation of multiproduct small batch production in mechanical engineering due to necessity to ensure its high flexibility are indicated. It is shown that the automation level of such a production can be effectively increased by the organization of a group production and the part orientation of equipment. In so doing it is useful to group parts on the basis of their standard images and enrichment elements. The use of standard image concept promotes the integration of design and manufacturing and creates the prerequisites for the automation of design. The planning of group production organized on the basis of standard images and enrichment elements realizes by regrouping the parts-setting-ups matrix. The method of matrix regrouping facilitating the group production planning is proposed. The described principles of organizing the computer-aided design and manufacturing on the basis of standard images and enrichment elements have been used in constructing the integrated system KAPRI intended for pilot production with a variable range of parts. 相似文献
