In this study 2‐(2′‐furyl)‐4,5‐1H‐dihydroimidazole (1) was prepared and then characterized by infrared, Raman, and multidimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopies. The crystal and molecular structures of 1 were determined by X‐ray diffraction methods. The density functional theory (DFT) and second‐order Møller–Plesset theory (MP2) with Pople's basis set show that there are two conformers for the title molecule that have been theoretically determined in the gas phase, and that only one of them, conformer I, is present in the solid phase. NMR spectra observed for 1 were successfully compared with the calculated chemical shifts at the B3LYP/6‐311++G** level theorized for this conformer. The harmonic vibrational frequencies for the optimized geometry of the latter conformer were calculated at the B3LYP/6‐311++G** level in the approximation of the isolated molecule. For a complete assignment of the IR and Raman spectra in the solid phase of 1 , DFT calculations were combined with Pulay´s scaled quantum mechanics force field (SQMFF) methodology to fit the theoretical frequency values to the experimental ones. We have synthesized 4‐[N‐phenyl‐N‐(3‐methylphenyl)‐amino]‐benzoic acid (4‐[PBA]) and investigated its molecular vibrations by infrared and Raman spectroscopies as well as by calculations based on the density functional theory (DFT) approach. The Fourier transform (FT) Raman, dispersive Raman and FT‐IR spectra of 4‐[PBA] were recorded in the solid phase. We analyzed the optimized geometric structure and energies of 4‐[PBA] in the ground state. Stability of the molecule arising from hyperconjugative interactions and charge delocalization was studied using natural bond orbital analysis. The results show that change in electron density in the σ* and π* antibonding orbitals and E2 energies confirm the occurrence of intramolecular charge transfer within the molecule. Theoretical calculations were performed at the DFT level using the Gaussian 09 program. Selected experimental bands were assigned and characterized on the basis of the scaled theoretical wavenumbers by their total energy distribution. The good agreement between the experimental and theoretical spectra allowed positive assignment of the observed vibrational absorption bands. Finally, the calculation results were applied to simulate the Raman and IR spectra of the title compound, which show agreement with the observed spectra. FTIR and FT Raman spectra of 2‐bromo‐4‐chloro phenol (BCP) and 2‐chloro‐4‐nitro phenol (CNP) were recorded in the region 4000–400 and 4000–50 cm−1, respectively. The molecular structure, geometry optimization, and vibrational wavenumbers were investigated. The spectra were interpreted with the aid of normal coordinate analysis based on density functional theory (DFT) using the standard B3LYP/6‐31G** method and basis set combination and was scaled using multiple scale factors, which yield good agreement between the observed and calculated wavenumbers. The results of the calculations are applied to simulate the infrared and Raman spectra of the title compounds, which showed excellent agreement with the observed spectra. Vibrational spectral analysis was carried out for 4‐methoxy‐2‐methyl benzoic acid (4M2MBA) by using Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) (solid, gas phase) and FT‐Raman spectroscopy in the range of 400–4000 and 10–3500 cm−1 respectively. The effects of molecular association through O H···O hydrogen bonding have been described by the single dimer structure. The theoretical computational density functional theory (DFT) and Hatree‐Fock (HF) method were performed at 6–311++G(d,p) levels to derive the equilibrium geometry, vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities and Raman scattering activities. The scaled theoretical wavenumbers were also shown to be in good agreement with experimental data. The first‐order hyperpolarizability (β0) of this novel molecular system and related properties (β, α0 and Δα) of 4M2MBA are calculated using the B3LYP/cc‐pvdz basis set, based on the finite‐field approach. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 4M2MBA is reported. The theoretical spectrograms for FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule were also constructed and compared with the experimental one. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The solid phase Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Fourier transform (FT) Raman spectral analysis of 7‐chloro‐3‐methyl‐2H‐1,2,4‐benzothiadiazine 1,1‐dioxide (diazoxide), an antihypertensive agent was carried out along with density functional computations. The optimized geometry, wavenumber and intensity of the vibrational bands of diazoxide were obtained by DFT‐B3LYP level of theory with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6‐31G(d,p) basis set. A complete vibrational assignment aided by the theoretical harmonic frequency analysis has been proposed. The harmonic vibrational wavenumbers calculated have been compared with experimental FTIR and FT Raman spectra. The observed and the calculated wavenumbers are found to be in good agreement. The experimental spectra coincide satisfactorily with those of calculated spectra. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of 2‐fluorophenylboronic acid (2fpba) were studied. The Fourier transform Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectra of the 2fpba molecule were recorded in the solid phase. The structural and spectroscopic analysis of the molecule was carried out by using Hartree‐Fock and density functional harmonic calculations. For the title molecule, only one form was found to be the most stable structure, by using B3LYP level with the 6‐31++G(d,p) basis set. Selected experimental bands were assigned and characterized on the basis of the scaled theoretical wavenumbers by their total energy distribution (TED). The 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) chemical shifts of the 2fpba molecule were calculated using the Gauge‐Invariant‐ atomic orbital (GIAO) method in DMSO solution using IEF‐PCM model and compared with the experimental data. Finally, geometric parameters, vibrational wavenumbers and chemical shifts were compared with available experimental data of the molecule. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The Fourier‐transform infrared spectrum of 3‐hydroxy‐2‐naphthoic acid hydrazide (3H2NAH) was recorded in the region 4000–400 cm−1. The Fourier‐transform Raman spectrum of 3H2NAH was also recorded in the region 3500–10 cm−1. Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of 3H2NAH were carried out by density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6‐31G(d,p) as basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. The values of the electric dipole moment (µ) and the first‐order hyperpolarizability (β) of the investigated molecule were computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The UV spectrum was measured in ethanol solution. The calculation results also show that the 3H2NAH molecule might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non‐zero values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 3H2NAH is also reported based on total energy distribution (TED). The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. The theoretical FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra for the title molecule have also been constructed. This work deals with the vibrational spectroscopy of 2‐amino‐4,6‐dihydroxy pyrimidine (ADHP) by means of quantum chemical calculations. The mid‐ and far FTIR and FT‐Raman spectra were measured in the condensed state. The fundamental vibrational wavenumbers and intensity of vibrational bands were evaluated using density functional theory (DFT) with the standard B3LYP/6‐311 + G** methods and basis set combinations, and were scaled using various scale factors, which yielded good agreement between the observed and calculated wavenumbers. The vibrational spectra were interpreted with the aid of normal coordinate analysis based on the scaled density functional force field. The results of the calculations were applied to simulate the infrared and Raman spectra of the title compound, which showed excellent agreement with the observed spectra. The conformational behavior and structural stability of 2‐fluoro‐6‐nitrotoluene (FNT) were investigated by utilizing density functional theory (DFT) with the standard B3LYP/6‐311 + G** method and basis set combinations. The vibrational wavenumbers of FNT were computed at DFT levels and complete vibrational assignments were made on the basis of normal coordinate calculations. Normal coordinate analysis (NCA) has been carried out to support the vibrational analysis. The results were compared with the experimental values. The observed Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Fourier transform (FT) Raman vibrational wavenumbers were analyzed and compared with the theoretically predicted vibrational spectra. The results of vibrational spectra of FNT were also compared with the vibrational spectra of some toluene derivatives. The assignments of bands to various normal modes of the molecules were also carried out. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Raman scattering and surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) have been used to study the behavior of 4‐mercaptopyridine (4‐Mpy) dissolved in water and adsorbed on silver mirrors. In order to gain the actual structure and the theoretical modes of the 4‐Mpy dissolved in water and adsorbed on the surface of silver mirror, ab initio calculation at the Hartree–Fock (HF) level and density functional theory (DFT) at Beck's three‐parameter Lee‐Yang‐Parr (B3LYP) level were performed to calculate the vibrational modes and wavenumbers. 4‐Mpy/2H2O and 4‐Mpy/Ag complex systems were optimized, and then the corresponding Raman spectra were calculated and analyzed. Compared with the experimental results, the calculated results of 4‐Mpy and 4‐Mpy/2H2O complex systems obtained from DFT method were more accurate. Among the results calculated with HF method, the one with three Ag atoms was economical, which took less computer time but gave equivalent results to those with more noumber of Ag atoms. The experimental and theoretical study on the structures and vibrations of 5‐fluoro‐salicylic acid and 5‐chloro‐salicylic acid (5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA, C7H5FO3 and C7H5ClO3) is presented. The Fourier transform infrared spectra (4000–400 cm−1) and the Fourier transform Raman spectra (4000–50 cm−1) of the title molecules in the solid phase were recorded. The molecular structures, vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities, Raman intensities and Raman scattering activities were calculated for a pair of molecules linked by the intermolecular O H···O hydrogen bond. The geometrical parameters and energies of 5‐FSA and 5ClSA were obtained for all eight conformers/isomers from density functional theory (DFT) (B3LYP) with 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set calculations. The computational results identified the most stable conformer of 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA as the C1 form. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The spectroscopic and theoretical results were compared with the corresponding properties for 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA monomers and dimer of C1 conformer. The optimized bond lengths, bond angles and calculated wavenumbers showed the best agreement with the experimental results. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The Fourier transform infrared (4000–400 cm−1) and Fourier transform Raman (3500–500 cm−1) spectra of 4‐hydroxy‐3‐(3‐oxo‐1‐phenylbutyl)‐2H‐1‐benzopyran‐2‐one (Warfarin) have been measured and calculated. The structure optimization has been made using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Complete vibrational assignments of the observed spectra have been compared with theoretical wavenumbers. The wavenumber increasing in the methyl group shows the electronic hyperconjugation effect. The natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis reveals the hyperconjugation interaction and the intramolecular hydrogen bonding. The first‐order hyperpolarizability has been calculated. Experimental vibrational spectroscopic studies and density functional theory (DFT) calculations of the di‐amino acid peptide derivatives α‐ and β‐N‐acetyl‐L‐Asp‐L‐Glu have been undertaken. Raman and infrared spectra have been recorded for samples in the solid state. DFT simulations were conducted using the B3‐LYP correlation functional and the cc‐pVDZ basis set to determine energy minimized/geometry optimized structures (based on a single isolated molecule in the gaseous state). Normal coordinate calculations have provided vibrational assignments for fundamental modes, including their potential energy distributions. Significant differences are observed between α‐ and β‐N‐acetyl‐L‐Asp‐L‐Glu both in the computed structures and in the vibrational spectra. The combination of experimental and calculated spectra provide an insight into the structural and vibrational spectroscopic properties of di‐amino acid peptide derivatives. The liquid phase FTIR and FT‐Raman spectra of 1,3‐dibromo‐2,4,5,6‐tetrafluoro benzene (DTB) and 1,2,3,4,5‐pentafluoro benzene (PB) were recorded in the regions 4000–400 cm−1 and 4000–50 cm−1, respectively. The spectra were interpreted with the aid of normal coordinate analysis following full structure opti1mization and force field calculations based on the density functional theory using the standard B3LYP/6‐31G* method and basis set combination. The scaled force field reproduced the experimental wavenumbers of the molecule for DTFB and PFB, respectively. The effects of halogen substituents on the structure and vibrational wavenumbers have been investigated. Assignments of fundamental modes were made based on the comparison between calculated and experimental results. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of sodium salt of 4‐hydroxy‐3[1‐(4‐nitrophenyl)‐3‐oxobutyl]‐2H‐1‐benzopyran‐2‐one (acenocoumarol sodium salt) in solid phase have been recorded and analyzed. The optimization geometry, intramolecular hydrogen bonding, and harmonic vibrational wavenumbers of acenocoumarol sodium salt have been investigated with the help of B3LYP density functional theory (DFT) methods. The infrared and Raman spectra were predicted theoretically from the calculated intensities. Natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis indicates the presence of C H···O hydrogen bonding in the molecule. The N‐(2′‐furyl)‐imidazole ( 1 ) has been prepared and characterized using infrared, Raman and multidimensional nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopies. Theoretical calculations have been carried out by employing the Density Functional Theory (DFT) method, in order to optimize the geometry of their two conformers in the gas phase and to support the assignments of the vibrational bands of 1 to their normal modes. For a complete assignment of the compound, DFT calculations were combined with Scaled Quamtum Mecanic Force Field (SQMFF) methodology in order to fit the theoretical wavenumber values to the experimental one. Furthermore, Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) and topological properties by Atoms In Molecules (AIM) calculations were performed to analyze the nature and magnitude of the intramolecular interactions. The result reveals that two conformers are expected in liquid phase. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometries and vibrational wavenumbers of 2,4‐difluorophenol (2,4‐DFP) were carried out by using ab initio HF and density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) methods with 6‐311G(d,p) as basis set. The optimized geometrical parameters obtained by HF and DFT calculations are in good agreement with related molecules. The best level of theory in order to reproduce the experimental wavenumbers is the B3LYP method with the 6‐311G(d,p) basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 2,4‐DFP is also reported. The entropy of the title compound was also performed at HF/6‐311G(d,p) and B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) levels of theory. The isotropic chemical shift computed by 1H, 13C NMR analyses also shows good agreement with experimental observations. The theoretical spectrograms for FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule have been constructed. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

IR, Raman and surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra of 5‐sulphosalicylic acid were recorded and analysed. The vibrational wavenumbers were computed by density functional theoretical (DFT) method using B3LYP/6–31G* basis. The bands due to the stretching modes CO, C S and SO2 are intense in the SERS spectrum. The C H stretching mode also appears in the SERS spectrum. The molecule is found to adsorb through both the carboxyl and sulphonyl groups. A possible tilted orientation of the molecule is suggested. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Amaranth (E123, Food Red 9, FD & C Red 2) is a sulfonated azo dye used as a color additive in foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of amaranth were recorded and analyzed. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to derive the equilibrium geometry, vibrational wavenumbers, intensities and first hyperpolarizability. The results of the optimized molecular structure gave clear evidence for the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) and intramolecular hydrogen bonding in the molecule. Azo stretching wavenumbers are lowered owing to conjugation and π‐electron delocalization. Time‐dependent density functional theory (TD‐DFT) calculations of the electronic spectra were performed on the optimized structure and compared with the experimental UV‐visible spectrum. Vibrational spectra, natural bonding orbitals (NBO) analysis and optimized geometry indicate C H·N hydrogen bonding in the molecule. The first hyperpolarizability of the molecule was calculated. The optical nonlinearity of the dye is due to the donation of the electron density from the hydroxyl group of the conjugated system via naphthalene ( 2 ) ring into π*‐orbital of the azo moiety. In this work, the Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectra of 2‐bromonicotinic acid and 6‐bromonicotinic acid (abbreviated as 2‐BrNA and 6‐BrNA, C6H4BrNO2) have been recorded in the region 4000–400 and 3500–50 cm−1. The optimum molecular geometry, normal mode wavenumbers, infrared intensities and Raman scattering activities, corresponding vibrational assignments and intermolecular hydrogen bonds were investigated with the help of B3LYP density functional theory (DFT) method using 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. Reliable vibrational assignments were made on the basis of total energy distribution (TED) calculated with scaled quantum mechanical (SQM) method.
