The IR‐ and Raman spectra of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc), as well as the isotopic wavenumber shifts upon 15N substitution in CuPc, were investigated experimentally and theoretically. The symmetry of molecular vibrations was determined using polarized Raman spectra of an oriented CuPc single crystal. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were used for the detailed assignment of different bands in the vibrational spectra of CuPc. Theoretically predicted geometry, wavenumbers and isotopic shifts are in a very good agreement with the experimental values. A comparison of experimentally obtained isotopic shifts with theoretical predictions allowed us to reveal some characteristic features of normal vibrations of CuPc molecule. In this work, the Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectra of 2‐bromonicotinic acid and 6‐bromonicotinic acid (abbreviated as 2‐BrNA and 6‐BrNA, C6H4BrNO2) have been recorded in the region 4000–400 and 3500–50 cm−1. The optimum molecular geometry, normal mode wavenumbers, infrared intensities and Raman scattering activities, corresponding vibrational assignments and intermolecular hydrogen bonds were investigated with the help of B3LYP density functional theory (DFT) method using 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. Reliable vibrational assignments were made on the basis of total energy distribution (TED) calculated with scaled quantum mechanical (SQM) method. From the calculations, the molecules are predicted to exist predominantly as the C1 conformer. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The oroxylin, 5,7‐dihydroxy 6‐methoxy flavone is a potent natural product extracted from ‘Vitex peduncularis’. Density functional theory (DFT) at B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) level has been used to compute energies of different conformers of oroxylin to find out their stability, the optimized geometry of the most stable conformer and its vibrational spectrum. The conformer ORLN‐1 with torsion angles 0, 180, 180 and 0 degrees, respectively, for H13 O12 C6 C5, H14 O10 C4 C5, H13 O12 C6 C5 and H14 O10 C4 C5 is found to be most stable. The optimized geometry reveals that the dihedral angle φ between phenyl ring B and the chrome part of the molecule in − 19.21° is due to the repulsive force due to steric interaction between the ortho‐hydrogen atom H29 of the B ring and H18 of the ring C (H29·H18 = 2.198 Å). A vibrational analysis based on the near‐infrared Fourier transform(NIR‐FT) Raman, Fourier transform‐infrared (FT‐IR) and the computed spectrum reveals that the methoxy group is influenced by the oxygen lone pair‐aryl pz orbital by back donation. Hence the stretching and bending vibrational modes of the methoxy group possess the lowest wavenumber from the normal values of methyl group. The carbonyl stretching vibrations have been lowered due to conjugation and hydrogen bonding in the molecules. The intramolecular H‐bonding and nonbonded intramolecular interactions shift the band position of O10 H14 and O12 H13 stretching modes, which is justified by DFT results. In this work, the experimental and theoretical UV, NMR and vibrational spectra of 2-chloro-6-methylaniline (2-Cl-6-MA, C7H8NCl) were studied. The ultraviolet absorption spectra of compound that dissolved in ethanol were examined in the range of 200–400 nm. The 1H, 13C and DEPT NMR spectra of the compound were recorded. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 2-Cl-6-MA in the liquid phase were recorded in the region 4000–400 cm?1 and 3500–50 cm?1, respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated using density functional theory (DFT) employing B3LYP exchange correlation and the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies were found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. Isotropic chemical shifts were calculated using the gauge-invariant atomic orbital (GIAO) method. Comparison of the calculated NMR chemical shifts and absorption wavelengths with the experimental values revealed that DFT method produces good results.  相似文献

IR and Raman spectra (RS) of polycrystalline 3‐(or 4 or 6)‐methyl‐5‐nitro‐2‐pyridinethione have been measured and analyzed by means of density functional theory (DFT) quantum chemical calculations. The B3LYP/6‐311G(2d,2p) approach has been applied for both the thiol and thione tautomers due to the possibility of the formation of these two thiole forms. Molecular structures of these compounds have been optimized starting from different molecular geometries of the thiol group and thione group. Two conformations of the 2‐mercaptopyridine, trans and cis, have been taken into account. It was shown that the studied compounds appear in the solid state in the thione form. The effect of the hydrogen‐bond formation in the studied compounds has been considered. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The molecular structures and vibrational properties of 1H‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine in its monomeric and dimeric forms are analyzed and compared to the experimental results derived from the X‐ray diffraction (XRD), infrared (IR), and Raman studies. The theoretical data are discussed on the basis of density functional theory (DFT) quantum chemical calculations using Lee–Yang–Parr correlation functional (B3LYP) and 6‐31G(d,p) basis. This compound crystallizes in orthorhombic structure, space group Pna21(C2v9) and Z = 4. The planar conformation of the skeleton and presence of the N H···N hydrogen bond was found to be characteristic for the studied system. The temperature dependence of IR and Raman modes was studied in the range 4–294 K and 8–295 K, respectively. The normal modes, which are unique for the imidazopyridine derivatives are identified. In this work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of N1‐methyl‐2‐chloroaniline (C7H8NCl) were studied. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule in the liquid phase were recorded in the region 4000–400 cm?1 and 3500–50 cm?1, respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated by using density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. 13C and 1H NMR chemical shifts results were compared with the experimental values. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles) were given and are in agreement with the corresponding experimental values of aniline and p‐methyl aniline. The experimental and theoretical study on the structures and vibrations of 5‐fluoro‐salicylic acid and 5‐chloro‐salicylic acid (5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA, C7H5FO3 and C7H5ClO3) is presented. The Fourier transform infrared spectra (4000–400 cm−1) and the Fourier transform Raman spectra (4000–50 cm−1) of the title molecules in the solid phase were recorded. The molecular structures, vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities, Raman intensities and Raman scattering activities were calculated for a pair of molecules linked by the intermolecular O H···O hydrogen bond. The geometrical parameters and energies of 5‐FSA and 5ClSA were obtained for all eight conformers/isomers from density functional theory (DFT) (B3LYP) with 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set calculations. The computational results identified the most stable conformer of 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA as the C1 form. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The spectroscopic and theoretical results were compared with the corresponding properties for 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA monomers and dimer of C1 conformer. The optimized bond lengths, bond angles and calculated wavenumbers showed the best agreement with the experimental results. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Empirical model potentials are found to be very useful for generating most competitive minima of large water clusters, whereas correlated (e.g. second order-Møller–Plesset perturbation (MP2) theory or higher) calculations are necessary for predicting their accurate energetics and vibrational features. The present study reports the structures and energetics of (H2O)32 clusters at MP2 level using aug-cc-pvDZ basis set, starting with low-lying structures generated from model potentials. Such high-end and accurate calculations are made feasible by the cost-effective fragment-based molecular tailoring approach (MTA) in conjunction with the grafting procedure. The latter is found to yield electronic energies with a sub-millihartree accuracy with reference to their full calculation counterparts. The vibrational spectra of nine low-lying (H2O)32 isomers are obtained from the corresponding MTA-based Hessian matrix. All these low-lying isomers show almost similar spectral features, which are in fair agreement with the experiment. The experimental spectrum of (H2O)32 is thus better understood from the vibrational features of this set of very closely spaced isomers. The present case study of (H2O)32 clearly demonstrates the efficacy in obtaining accurate structures, energetics and spectra at correlated level of theory by combining model potential-based structures with fragmentation methods.  相似文献

A systematic study on the surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) for 3,6‐bi‐2‐pyridyl‐1,2,4,5‐tetrazine (bptz) adsorbed onto citrate‐modified gold nanoparticles (cit‐AuNps) was carried out based on electronic and vibrational spectroscopy and density functional methods. The citrate/bptz exchange was carefully controlled by the stepwise addition of bptz to the cit‐AuNps, inducing flocculation and leading to the rise of a characteristic plasmon coupling band in the visible region. Such stepwise procedure led to a uniform decrease of the citrate SERS signals and to the rise of characteristic peaks of bptz, consistent with surface binding via the N heterocyclic atoms. In contrast, single addition of a large amount of bptz promoted complete aggregation of the nanoparticles, leading to a strong enhancement of the SERS signals. In this case, from the distinct Raman profiles involved, the formation of a new SERS environment became apparent, conjugating the influence of the local hot spots and charge‐transfer (CT) effects. The most strongly enhanced vibrations belong to a1 and b2 representations, and were interpreted in terms of the electromagnetic and the CT mechanisms: the latter involving significant contribution of vibronic coupling in the system. Nonresonance (or normal) Raman scattering (NRS), resonance Raman scattering (RRS), surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), and surface‐enhanced RRS (SERRS) spectra of [Fe(tpy)2]2+ complex dication (tpy = 2,2':6',2''‐terpyridine) are reported. The comparison of RRS/NRS and SERRS/SERS excitation profiles of [Fe(tpy)2]2+ spectral bands in the range of 445–780 nm is supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations, Raman depolarization measurements, comparison of the solid [Fe(tpy)2](SO4)2 and solution RRS spectra, and characterization of the Ag nanoparticle (NP) hydrosol/[Fe(tpy)2]2+ SERS/SERRS active system by surface plasmon extinction spectrum and transmission electron microscopy image of the fractal aggregates (D = 1.82). By DFT calculations, both the Raman active modes and the electronic states of the complex have been assigned to the symmetry species of the D2d point group. It has been demonstrated that upon the electrostatic bonding of the complex dication to the chloride‐modified Ag NPs, the geometric and ground state electronic structure of the complex and the identity of the three different metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer (1MLCT) electronic transitions remain preserved. On the other hand, the effect of ion pairing manifests itself by a slight change in localization of one of the electronic transitions (with max. at 552 nm) as well as by promotion of the Herzberg–Teller activation of E modes resulting from coupling of E and B2 excited electronic states. Finally, the very low, 1 × 10−11 M SERRS spectral detection limit of [Fe(tpy)2]2+ at 532‐nm excitation is attributed to a concerted action of the electromagnetic and molecular resonance mechanism, in conjunction to the electrostatic bonding of the complex dication to the chloride‐modified Ag NP surface.
