Intermoiety electronic interactions in the singlet and triplet excimer states of triply bridged [3.3.n](3,6,9)carbazolophanes ([3.3.n]Cz, n=3-6) were studied by emission and transient absorption measurements. In these [3.3.n]Cz molecules, the dihedral angle and the separation distance r between fully overlapped two carbazole rings change systematically from nearly parallel (n=3, r=3.35 A) to oblique (n=6, r=4.03 A). In rigid glass at 77 K, [3.3.n]Cz (n=3, 4) (r<4 A) exhibited red-shifted and structureless excimer fluorescence and phosphorescence while [3.3.n]Cz (n=5, 6) (r>4 A) exhibited monomer-like vibrational fluorescence and phosphorescence. In solution at 130 K, all [3.3.n]Cz molecules exhibited an excimeric fluorescence band while [3.3.5]Cz still exhibited monomer-like phosphorescence. Transient absorption spectra measured at 294 K exhibited local excitation and charge-transfer bands for all [3.3.n]Cz molecules in the excited singlet and triplet states, suggesting that not only singlet but also triplet excimers of carbazole are formed at room temperature. Furthermore, the singlet-triplet energy gap decreased with the decrease in n, suggesting that electrons are effectively delocalized over the two carbazole moieties. These findings showed that both singlet and triplet excimers of carbazole are formed with a separation distance shorter than about 4 A and are most stable in the parallel-sandwich structure and that the configurational mixing between exciton resonance and charge resonance states plays an essential role in the formation of singlet and triplet excimers of carbazole.  相似文献

The photophysical properties of a series of triply bridged [3.3.n](3,6,9)carbazolophanes ([3.3.n]Cz, n = 3, 4, 5, 6) were studied as a model compound for a fully overlapped carbazole excimer. In these [3.3.n]Cz molecules, a plane angle of the two carbazole moieties changed systematically from nearly parallel to oblique, with increases in the length of the methylene chain n bridging at the 9-position of each carbazole ring. Absorption bands of [3.3.n]Cz showed the blue-shift and the splitting for (1)L(a) <-- (1)A and (1)L(b) <-- (1)A transition bands of the reference carbazole monomer, respectively. These spectral changes in [3.3.n]Cz were explained by Kasha's molecular exciton theory with the distance r and dihedral angle theta between the carbazole moieties in the ground state. In both liquid and glass matrixes, [3.3.n]Cz showed intramolecular excimer emission. The emission peak wavelength changed from 409 nm (n = 6) to 480 nm (n = 3) depending on r in the ground state. The dependence of the peak wavelength on r clearly showed that relative configurations of carbazole moieties in the ground state were preserved even in the excimer states. The smaller radiative rate of the excimer emission than the reference monomer was explained by the dimer symmetry of [3.3.n]Cz.  相似文献

Phosphazene polymers are classically synthesized by the high-temperature, ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of [PCl(2)N](3) to give [PCl(2)N](n), followed by functionalization of [PCl(2)N](n) with different side groups. We investigated the interactions of [PCl(2)N](3) with Lewis acids because Lewis acids have been used to induce the high-temperature ROP of [PCl(2)N](3). The reactions of [PCl(2)N](3) with MX(3) (M = group 13, X = halides), under strict anaerobic conditions gave adducts [PCl(2)N](3)·MX(3). Adducts were characterized by X-ray crystallography and multinuclear and variable-temperature NMR studies, and mechanistic understanding of their fluxional behavior in solution was achieved. The properties of the [PCl(2)N](3)·MX(3) adducts at or near room temperature strongly suggests that such adducts are not involved directly as intermediates in the high-temperature ROP of [PCl(2)N](3).  相似文献

Calculations reveal a multistep pathway towards formation of linear [U](2)-(μ-η(1):η(1)-C(2)O(2)); [U] = U(η-C(8)H(6){SiH(3)-1,4}(2))(η-Cp). However formation of deltate-bridged [U](2)-(μ-η(1):η(2)-C(3)O(3)) requires an alternative mechanism, involving a side-on [U](2)-(μ-η(2):η(2)-CO) complex and whereby the bridging units of [U](2)-(μ-η(2):η(2)-C(n)O(n)) intermediates (n = 1, 2) react directly with free CO.  相似文献

Structurally characterised 2,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)pyrazine (H2L) can be partially or fully deprotonated to form the complexes [(acac)2Ru(mu-L)Ru(acac)2], [1], acac = acetylacetonato = 2,4-pentanedionato, [(pap)2Ru(mu-L)Ru(pap)2](ClO4)2, [2](ClO4)2, pap = 2-phenylazopyridine, or [(pap)2Ru(HL)](ClO4), [3](ClO4). Several reversible oxidation and reduction processes were observed in each case and were analysed with respect to oxidation state alternatives through EPR and UV-VIS-NIR spectroelectrochemistry. In relation to previously reported compounds with 2,2'-bipyridine as ancillary ligands the complex redox system [1]n is distinguished by a preference for metal-based electron transfer whereas the systems [2]n and [3]n favour an invariant Ru(II) state. Accordingly, the paramagnetic forms of [1]n, n = -, 0, +, exhibit metal-centred spin whereas the odd-electron intermediates [2]+, [2](3+) and [3] show radical-type EPR spectra. A comparison with analogous complexes involving the 3,6-bis(2-oxidophenyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine reveals the diminished pi acceptor capability of the pyrazine-containing bridge.  相似文献

Reactions of 1:13 heteropoly anions [MV13O38](7-) (M = Mn, Ni) and lanthanide cations Ln3+ (Ln = La, Ce, or Pr) produce five isomorphic compounds, which are crystallized in the triclinic crystal system, space group P1, and formulated as [Ln6(H2O)25(MV12O38)(HMV13O38)].nH2O ((1) Ln = La, M = Mn, and n approximately 31; (2) Ln = Ce, M = Mn, and n approximately 29; (3) Ln = Pr, M = Mn, and n approximately 31; (4) Ln = La, M = Ni, and n approximately 28; (5) Ln = Pr, M = Ni, and n approximately 33). These compounds are two-dimensional polymeric structures constructed by hydrated lanthanide cations and two types of heteropoly anions, [MV13O38](7-) and [MV12O38](12-). In contrast to the previous reported 1:13 heteropoly anions, all with disordered structures, [MV13O38](7-) clusters in 1-5 are non-disordered with a distinct mode. The second kind of anionic cluster [MV12O38](12-) with O(h) symmetry, which consists of 13 entire edge-sharing MO(6) (M = V, Mn or Ni) octahedra, has not been reported hitherto. The emergence of the new cluster may be correlated to the six capping lanthanide cations surrounding it with a stabilization effect. In this paper, the syntheses and structures of the five polymeric lanthanide heteropolyvanadates of manganese(IV) and nickel(IV) have been presented.  相似文献

[Ln[N(SiMe3)2]2(THF)2](Ln = Sm, Yb) reacts with 1 equiv. of carbon-bridged biphenols, 2,2'-methylene-bis(6-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol)(L1H2) or 2,2'-ethylidene-bis(4,6-di-tert-butylphenol)(L2H2), in toluene to give the novel aryloxide lanthanide(II) complexes [[LnL1(THF)n]2](Ln = Sm, n = 3 (1); Ln = Yb, n = 2 (2)) and [[LnL2(THF)3]2](Ln = Sm (5); Ln = Yb (6)) in quantitative yield, respectively. Addition of 2 equiv. of hexamethylphosphoric triamide (HMPA) to a tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution of 1, 2 and 5 affords the corresponding HMPA-coordinated complexes, [[LnL1(THF)m(HMPA)n]2(THF)y](Ln = Sm, n = 2, m = 0, y = 2 (3); Ln = Yb, m = 1, n = 1, y = 6 (4)) and [[SmL2(HMPA)2]2](7) in excellent yields. The single-crystal structural analyses of 3, 4 and 7 revealed that these aryloxide lanthanide(II) complexes are dimeric with two Ln-O bridges. The coordination geometry of each lanthanide metal can be best described as a distorted trigonal bipyramid. Complexes 1-3, 5 and 7 can catalyze the ring-opening polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone (epsilon-CL), and 1-3, along with 5 show moderate activity for the ring-opening polymerization of 2,2-dimethyltrimethylene carbonate (DTC) and the copolymerization of epsilon-CL and DTC to give random copolymers with high molecular weights and relatively narrow molecular weight distributions..  相似文献

Two cyano-bridged Ni(II)-Fe(III) complexes [(H(3)O)[Ni(H(2)L)](2)[Fe(CN)(6)](2).[Fe(CN)(6)].6H(2)O](n) (1) and [K(18-C-6)(H(2)O)(2)][Ni(H(2)L)](2)[Fe(CN)(6)](3).4(18-C-6).20H(2)O (2) (L = 3,10-bis(2-aminoethyl)-1,3,6,8,10,12-hexaazacyclotetradecane, 18-C-6 = 18-crown-6-ether) have been synthesized and characterized structurally and magnetically. Complex 1 has a zigzag one-dimensional structure, in which two trans-CN(-) ligands of each [Fe(CN)(6)](3)(-) link two trans-[Ni(H(2)L)](4+) groups, and in turn, each trans-[Ni(H(2)L)](4+) links two [Fe(CN)(6)](3)(-) in a trans fashion. Complex 2 is composed of cyano-bridged pentanuclear molecules with moieties connected by the trans-CN(-) ligands of [Fe(CN)(6)](3)(-). Magnetic studies show the existence of ferromagnetic Ni(II)-Fe(III) interactions in both complexes. The intermetallic magnetic coupling constant of both complexes was analyzed by using an approximate model on the basis of the structural features.  相似文献

Reaction of [RGa(NMe(2))(2)](2), where R = Me, Et, Bu, and Hx, with ammonia at 150 degrees C in an autoclave produced insoluble white powders formulated as oligomers of [RGaNH](n). The analogous reaction between NH(3) and MeGa[N(SiMe(3))(2)](2) at low temperature (<25 degrees C) formed an isolable intermediate, [MeGa(mu-NH(2))N(SiMe(3))(2)](2), that was characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction of the oligomers were consistent with a rodlike structure comprised of six-membered, [RGaNH](3) rings stacked perpendicular to the long axis of the rod. The method of synthesis, formula, and diffraction results suggested a structural similarity between the alkyl, [RGaNH](n)(), and the previously reported hydride, [HGaNH](n). The structural and electronic properties of rods having the general formula H(3)[(HXYH)(3)](n)H(3) (XY = GaN, GeC; n = 1-9) were investigated using density functional theory. Atomic electronegativity differences between the group 13/15 and 14/14 systems were found to play important roles in the geometrical structures of the two rods and also caused significant differences in the electronic structures. Energetically, it was found to be increasingly favorable to add additional cyclotrigallazane rings to the GaN rods, while for the GeC rods, there was a roughly constant energy cost associated with each additional ring. The electric dipole moments of the GaN rods increased substantially with length; in the GeC rods, charge separation occurred to a much smaller extent and had a polarization opposite to that found in GaN. In addition, increased dipole moments correlated with smaller electronic excitation energies, as predicted by time-dependent density functional theory. All of the powders exhibited luminescence in the visible spectrum at room temperature. Structure observed in the photoluminescence spectra of [HGaNH](n) and [MeGaNH](n) was interpreted as arising from rods of different length.  相似文献

The intervalence charge transfer (IVCT) properties of the mixed-valence forms of the diastereoisomers of the dinuclear [[Ru(bpy)2](mu-HAT)[M(bpy)2]]5+ (M = Ru or Os) complexes and the trinuclear heterochiral [[Ru(bpy)2]2[Os(bpy)2](mu-HAT)]n+ (n = 7, 8; HAT = 1,4,5,8,9,12-hexaazatriphenylene; bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) species display a marked dependence on the nuclearity and extent of oxidation of the assemblies, while small differences are also observed for the diastereoisomers of the same complex in the dinuclear cases. The mixed-valence heterochiral [[Ru(bpy)2]2[Os(bpy)2](mu-HAT)]n+ (n = 7, 8) forms exhibit IVCT properties that are intermediate between those of the diastereoisomeric forms of the localized hetero-dinuclear complex [[Ru(bpy)2](mu-HAT)[Os(bpy)2]]5+ and the borderline localized-to-delocalized homo-trinuclear complex [[Ru(bpy)2]3(mu-HAT)]n+ (n = 7, 8). The near-infrared (NIR) spectrum of the +7 mixed-valence species exhibits both interconfigurational (IC) and IVCT transitions which are quantitatively similar to those in [[Ru(bpy)2](mu-HAT)[Os(bpy)2]]5+ and are indicative of the localized mixed-valence formulation [[Ru(II)(bpy)2]2[Os(III)(bpy)2](mu-HAT)]7+. The +8 state exhibits a new band attributable to an IVCT transition in the near-infrared region.  相似文献

A series of cyano-bridged Ni(II)-Cr(I/III) complexes have been synthesized by the reactions of hexaazacyclic Ni(II) complexes with [Cr(CN)(6)](3-) or [Cr(CN)(5)(NO)](3-). Using the tetravalent Ni(II) complex [Ni(H(2)L(2))](4+) (L(2) = 3,10-bis(2-aminoethyl)-1,3,6,8,10,12-hexaazacyclotetradecane), one-dimensional chainlike complexes were produced and subject to magnetic studies, affording the intermetallic magnetic exchange constants of J(1) = +0.23 cm(-1) and J(2) = +8.4 cm(-1) for the complex [Ni(H(2)L(2))][Cr(CN)(5)(NO)]ClO(4).5H(2)O (1) and of J = +5.9 cm(-1) for the complex [Ni(H(2)L(2))](4)[Cr(CN)(6)](5)OH.15H(2)O (2). X-ray diffraction analysis shows that complex 1 has a zigzag chain structure, whereas complex 2 consists of a branched chain structure. Complex 2 exhibits antiferromagnetic ordering at 8.0 K (T(N)). When an octahedral Ni(II) complex cis-[NiL(3)(en)](2+) (en = 1,2-ethylenediamine, L(3) = 3,10-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,3,5,8,10,12-hexaazacyclotetradecane) was used for the synthesis, the common 2D honeycomb-layered complex [NiL(3)](3)[Cr(CN)(5)(NO)](2).8H(2)O (3) was obtained, which has a T(N) value of 3.3 K. Below T(N), a metamagnetic behavior was observed in complexes 2 and 3.  相似文献

The reduction of a series of [n](2,7)pyrenophanes (n = 7-10) with lithium or potassium metal shows that the strain in the system, controlled by the length of the tether, determines the nature of the reduction products. The reduction of [7](2,7)pyrenophane (2) and [2]metacyclo[2](2,7)pyrenophane (3) leads to reductive dimerization followed by novel intramolecular sigma-bond formation as a means of escaping strained anti-aromaticity. [8](2,7)Pyrenophane (4) affords only reductive dimerization, and no two-electron reduction is observed. The reduction of [9](2,7) pyrenophane (5) and [10](2,7)pyrenophane (6) leads to reductive dimerization, followed by the formation of a dianionic anti-aromatic species, which eventually cleaves the solvent, THF-d(8). The similarity between the reduction of the latter systems and the reduction of pyrene (1) is discussed.  相似文献

Systematic theoretical studies of the [XMYH](n) inorganic rings and clusters (M = Al, Ga, In; Y = N, P, As; X = H, F, Cl, Br, I; n = 1-6) have been carried out using hybrid Hartree-Fock density functional theory. A consistent set of the structural and thermodynamic properties has been obtained. The stability of the MY bond decreases in the order Al > Ga >or= In; N > P > As. Terminal groups X have a minor influence on the subsequent elimination enthalpies of the clusters. In the case of X = H, hydrogen elimination makes formation of the [HMYH](6) oligomers from MH(3) and YH(3) thermodynamically favorable; while in the case of halide substituents, formation of [XMYH](6) is thermodynamically unfavorable, except for the system with the strongest MY bond (AlN). Substitution of the acidic hydrogen by X is favorable energetically for all [HMYH](6) clusters, but is complicated by the processes of cluster destruction to form the [X(2)MYH(2)](2) dimers. The high stability of the [HMNH](6) clusters makes them attractive single-source precursors for the production of 13-15 composites.  相似文献

Structures and thermodynamic properties of the imidogallanes [HGaNH](n) with high oligomerization degrees n = 7-16 and related amido-imido compounds have been investigated theoretically at the B3LYP level of theory with all-electron pVDZ and effective core potential LANL2DZ(d,p) basis sets. Needle-shaped oligomers which violate the "isolated square rule" were found to be more stable than cage isomers. The needle-shape oligomer with n = 16 is predicted to be exceptionally stable at low temperatures. Octamer and hexamer clusters dominate the gas phase at higher temperatures. The highest oligomerization degree of the spontaneous cluster formation has been estimated. It is concluded that generation of the gas-phase [HGaNH](n) clusters with oligomerization degree n >or= 60 is viable. This makes these species possible intermediates involved in the gas-phase generation of GaN nanoparticles. A case study of methyl-substituted analogues suggests that formation of the gaseous [MeGaNH](n) oligomers is even more favorable compared to that of [HGaNH](n). We predict that spontaneous growth of GaN oligomers is favorable thermodynamically. Laser-assisted generation of GaN nanorods at low-temperature conditions appears to be feasible.  相似文献

Systematic synthesis routes have been developed for the linear-shaped rhenium(I) oligomers and polymers bridged with bidentate phosphorus ligands, [Re(N--N)(CO)3-PP-{Re(N--N)(CO)2-PP-}(n)Re(N--N)(CO)3](PF6)(n+2) (N--N = diimine, PP = bidentate phosphine, n = 0-18). These were isolated by size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and identified by (1)H NMR, IR, electrospray ionization Fourier transform mass spectrometry, analytical SEC, and elemental analysis. Crystal structures of [Re(bpy)(CO)3-Ph2PC[triple bond]CPPh2-Re(bpy)(CO)3](PF6)2, [Re(bpy)(CO)3-Ph2PC[triple bond]CPPh2-Re(bpy)(CO)2-Ph2PC[triple bond]CPPh2-Re(bpy)(CO)3](PF6)3 and [Re(bpy)(CO)3-Ph2PC2H4PPh2-{Re(bpy)(CO)2Ph2PC2H4PPh2-}(n)Re(bpy)(CO)3](PF6)(n+2) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, n = 1, 2) were obtained, showing that they have interligand pi-pi interaction between the bpy ligand and the phenyl groups on the phosphorus ligand. All of the oligomers and polymers synthesized were emissive at room temperature in solution. For the dimers, broad emission was observed with a maximum at 523-545 nm, from the (3)MLCT excited-state of the tricarbonyl complex unit, [Re(N--N)(CO)3-PP-]. Emission from the longer oligomers and polymers with > or = 3 Re(I) units was observed at wavelengths 50-60 nm longer than those of the corresponding dimers. This fact and the emission decay results clearly show that energy transfer from the edge unit to the interior unit occurs with a rate constant of (0.9 x 10(8))-(2.5 x 10(8)) s(-1). The efficient energy transfer and the smaller exclusive volume of the longer Re(I) polymers indicated intermolecular aggregation for these polymers in an MeCN solution.  相似文献

The room-temperature stable CI3+ salts [CI3+[pftb](-)1 and [CI3]+[al-f-al](-) 2([pftb](-) = [Al(OC(CF3)3)4](-); [al-f-al](-) = [((CF3)3CO)3Al-F-Al(OC(CF3)3)3](-)) were prepared in quantitative yields from purified CI4 and the corresponding silver aluminates with total exclusion of light (NMR, IR, UV-VIS, X-ray diffraction). The isolated CI(3)(+) cation is trigonal planar with a sum of <(I-C-I) = 360.0 degrees (1) and 359.9 degrees (2). Attempts to prepare CHI2+ and CH2I+ salts from CHI3 or CH2I2/Ag[pftb] mixtures remained unsuccessful; the reaction with CH2I2 leads to the formation of the adduct [Ag(CH2I2)3]+[pftb](-)3, while for HCI3, dismutation with formation of 1 as well as 3 was observed. All particles were also calculated at the MP2/TZVPP level to predict the vibrational and electronic spectra as well as to calculate the Gibbs free energies of all reactions (DeltaG degrees , gas phase and CH2Cl2 solution). Quantum chemical calculations were also used to investigate the stability of the [pftb](-) anion against the electrophilic attack of the CX3+ and CHnX3-n+ cations (X = F-I, n = 1-3). The strength of the Lewis acidity of these cations and of the isoelectronic boron halides BX()and BHnX3-n have been established on the basis of their fluoride ion affinities (FIAs). The FIAs of the carbon and the boron containing compounds show opposite trends, with fluorinated halomethyl cations being stronger acids than their heavier congeners but iodinated holoboranes being stronger acids than their lighter homologues.  相似文献

Reaction of the disulfide [HpicanS](2) (HpicanS is the carboxamide based on picolinate (pic) and o-mercaptoaniline (anS); the [] brackets are used to denote disulfides) with [VOCl(2)(thf)(2)] leads to reductive scission of the disulfide bond and formation of the mixed-valence (V(IV)/V(V)) complex anion [(OVpicanS)(2)mu-O](-) (1), with the dianionic ligand coordinating through the pyridine-N atom, the deprotonated amide-N atom, and thiophenolate-S atom. Reductive cleavage of the SbondS bond is also observed as [VCl(2)(tmeda)(2)] (tmeda=tetramethylethylenediamine) is treated with the disulfides [HsalanS](2) or [HvananS](2) (HsalanS and HvananS are the Schiff bases formed between o-mercaptoaniline and salicylaldehyde (Hsal) or vanillin (Hvan), respectively), yielding the V(III) complexes [VCl(tmeda)(salanS)] (2 a), or [VCl(tmeda)(vananS)] (2 b). The disulfide bond remains intact in the aerial reaction between [HsalanS](2) and [VCl(3)(thf)(3)] to yield the V(V) complex [VOCl[salanS](2)] (3), where (salanS)(2-) coordinates through the two phenolate and one of the imine functions. The S-S bond is also preserved as [VO(van)(2)] or [VO(nap)(2)] (Hnap=2-hydroxynaphthalene-1-carbaldehyde) is treated with bis(2-aminophenyl)disulfide, [anS](2), a reaction which is accompanied by condensation of the aldehyde and the diamine, and complexation of the resulting bis(Schiff bases) [HvananS](2) or [HnapanS](2) to form the complexes [VO[vananS](2)] (4 a) or [VO[napanS](2)] (4 b). In 4 a and 4 b, the phenolate and imine functions, and presumably also one of the disulfide-S atoms, coordinate to V(IV). 2-Mercaptophenyl-2'-pyridinecarboxamide (H(2)picanS) retains its identity in the presence of V(III); reaction between [VCl(3)(thf)(3)] and H(2)picanS yields [V[picanS](2)](-) (5). The dithiophenolate 2,6-bis(mercaptophenylthio)dimethylpyridine (6 a) is oxidized, mediated by VO(2+), to the bis(disulfide) octathiadiaza-cyclo-hexaeicosane 6 b. The relevance of these reactions for the speciation of vanadium under physiological conditions is addressed. Gaseous Fe(4)S(n)(-) (n = 4-6) clusters and synthetic analogue complexes, Fe(4)S(4)L(n)(-) (L = Cl, Br, I; n = 1-4), were produced by laser vaporization of a solid Fe/S target and electrospray from solution samples, respectively, and their electronic structures were probed by photoelectron spectroscopy. Low binding energy features derived from minority-spin Fe 3d electrons were clearly distinguished from S-derived bands. We showed that the electronic structure of the simplest Fe(4)S(4)(-) cubane cluster can be described by the two-layer spin-coupling model previously developed for the [4Fe] cubane analogues. The photoelectron data revealed that each extra S atom in Fe(4)S(5)(-) and Fe(4)S(6)(-) removes two minority-spin Fe 3d electrons from the [4Fe--4S] cubane core and each halogen ligand removes one Fe 3d electron from the cubane core in the Fe(4)S(4)L(n)(-) complexes, clearly revealing a behavior of sequential oxidation of the cubane over five formal oxidation states: [4Fe--4S](-) --> [4Fe--4S](0) --> [4Fe--4S](+) --> [4Fe-4S](2+) --> [4Fe-4S](3+). The current work shows the electron-storage capability of the [4Fe--4S] cubane, contributes to the understanding of its electronic structure, and further demonstrates the robustness of the cubane as a structural unit and electron-transfer center.  相似文献
