We prove that the infinitely iterated permutational wreath product ?\wr G2\wr G1{\ldots\wr G_2\wr G_1} is topologically finitely generated if and only if the profinite abelian group ?n 3 1 Gn/Gn{\prod_{n\geq 1} G_n/G'_n} is topologically finitely generated. As a corollary, for a finite transitive group G the minimal number of generators of the wreath power G\wr ?\wr G\wr G{G\wr \ldots\wr G\wr G} (n times) is bounded if G is perfect, and grows linearly if G is non-perfect. As a by-product we construct a finitely generated branch group, which has maximal subgroups of infinite index.  相似文献

Let G be a finitely generated torsion-free nilpotent group and ${\phi:H\rightarrow G}$ be a surjective homomorphism from a subgroup H < G of finite index with trivial ${\phi}$ -core. For every choice of coset representatives of H in G there is a faithful self-similar action of the group G associated with ${(G, \phi)}$ . We are interested in what cases all these actions are finite-state and in what cases there exists a finite-state self-similar action for ${(G, \phi)}$ . These two properties are characterized in terms of the Jordan normal form of the corresponding automorphism $\widehat{\phi}$ of the Lie algebra of the Mal’cev completion of G.  相似文献

Let X be a smooth projective curve of genus g 2 over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic p0,and F:X→X(1)the relative Frobenius morphism.Let M s X(r,d)(resp.M ss X(r,d))be the moduli space of(resp.semi-)stable vector bundles of rank r and degree d on X.We show that the set-theoretic map S ss Frob:M ss X(r,d)→M ss X(1)(rp,d+r(p-1)(g-1))induced by[E]→[F(E)]is a proper morphism. Moreover, the induced morphism S s Frob:M s X(r,d)→M s X(1)(rp,d+r(p-1)(g-1))is a closed immersion. As an application,we obtain that the locus of moduli space M s X(1)(p,d)consisting of stable vector bundles whose Frobenius pull backs have maximal Harder-Narasimhan polygons is isomorphic to the Jacobian variety Jac X of X.  相似文献

Let $A^{(l)} (l = 1, \ldots ,k)$ be $n \times n$ nonnegative matrices with right and left Perron vectors $u^{(l)} $ and $v^{(l)} $ , respectively, and let $D^{(l)} $ and $E^{(l)} (l = 1, \ldots ,k)$ be positive-definite diagonal matrices of the same order. Extending known results, under the assumption that $$u^{(1)} \circ v^{(1)} = \ldots = u^{(k)} \circ v^{(k)} \ne 0$$ (where `` $ \circ $ '' denotes the componentwise, i.e., the Hadamard product of vectors) but without requiring that the matrices $A^{(l)} $ be irreducible, for the Perron root of the sum $\sum\nolimits_{l = 1}^k {D^{(l)} A^{(l)} E^{(l)} } $ we derive a lower bound of the form $$\rho \left( {\sum\limits_{l = 1}^k {D^{(l)} A^{(l)} E^{(l)} } } \right) \geqslant \sum\limits_{l = 1}^k {\beta _{l\rho } (A^{(l)} ),{\text{ }}\beta _l >0.} $$ Also we prove that, for arbitrary irreducible nonnegative matrices $A^{{\text{ (}}l{\text{)}}} (l = 1, \ldots ,k),$ , $$\rho \left( {\sum\limits_{l = 1}^k {A^{(l)} } } \right) \geqslant \sum\limits_{l = 1}^k {\alpha _{l\rho } (A^{(l)} ),} $$ where the coefficients ∝1>0 are specified using an arbitrarily chosen normalized positive vector. The cases of equality in both estimates are analyzed, and some other related results are established. Bibliography: 8 titles.  相似文献

Given any sequence of non-abelian finite simple primitive permutationgroups Sn, we construct a finitely generated group G whose profinitecompletion is the infinite permutational wreath product ...Sn Sn–1 ... S0. It follows that the upper compositionfactors of G are exactly the groups Sn. By suitably choosingthe sequence Sn we can arrange that G has any one of a continuousrange of slow, non-polynomial subgroup growth types. We alsoconstruct a 61-generator perfect group that has every non-abelianfinite simple group as a quotient. 2000 Mathematics SubjectClassification: 20E07, 20E08, 20E18, 20E32.  相似文献

Let S(a)n=?k=1n Y(a)kS^{(a)}_{n}=\sum _{k=1}^{n} Y^{(a)}_{k}. Then, under some mild assumptions, , for some random variable and some function Δ(⋅). We utilize this result to present a number of limit theorems for suprema of Lévy processes in the heavy-traffic regime.  相似文献

For a 1-connected space X Adams's bar construction B(C*(X)) describes H*(X) only as a graded module and gives no information about the multiplicative structure. Thus it is not possible to iterate the bar construction in order to determine the cohomology of iterated loop spaces i X. In this paper for an n-connected pointed space X a sequence of A()-algebra structures , is constructed, such that for each there exists an isomorphism of graded algebras   相似文献

For a certain class of complex-valued functionsf(x), ?∞ $$u_N = \mathop {\inf }\limits_{\parallel A\parallel \leqslant N_\parallel f^{(n)} \parallel _{L_2 \leqslant } 1} \parallel f^{(k)} - A(f)\parallel C$$ of a differential operator by linear operators A with the norm ∥A∥ L2 C ≤N,N,>0. Using the value uN, the smallest constant Q in the inequality $$\parallel f^{(k)} \parallel _Q \leqslant Q\parallel f\parallel _{L_2 }^\alpha \parallel f^{(n)} \parallel _{L_2 }^\beta $$ is found.  相似文献

Let $\{\mu _{t}^{(i)}\}_{t\ge 0}$ ( $i=1,2$ ) be continuous convolution semigroups (c.c.s.) of probability measures on $\mathbf{Aff(1)}$ (the affine group on the real line). Suppose that $\mu _{1}^{(1)}=\mu _{1}^{(2)}$ . Assume furthermore that $\{\mu _{t}^{(1)}\}_{t\ge 0}$ is a Gaussian c.c.s. (in the sense that its generating distribution is a sum of a primitive distribution and a second-order differential operator). Then $\mu _{t}^{(1)}=\mu _{t}^{(2)}$ for all $t\ge 0$ . We end up with a possible application in mathematical finance.  相似文献

We study the first cohomology groups of a countable discrete group G with coefficients in a G-module ?Φ(G), where Φ is an N-function of class Δ2(0) ∩ ?2(0). Developing the ideas of Puls and Martin-Valette for a finitely generated group G, we introduce the discrete Φ-Laplacian and prove a theorem on the decomposition of the space of Φ-Dirichlet finite functions into the direct sum of the spaces of Φ-harmonic functions and ?Φ(G) (with an appropriate factorization). We prove also that if a finitely generated group G has a finitely generated infinite amenable subgroup with infinite centralizer then \(\bar H^1\) (G, ?Φ(G)) = 0. In conclusion, we show the triviality of the first cohomology group for the wreath product of two groups one of which is nonamenable.  相似文献

Given , a compact abelian group G and a function , we identify the maximal (i.e. optimal) domain of the convolution operator (as an operator from Lp(G) to itself). This is the largest Banach function space (with order continuous norm) into which Lp(G) is embedded and to which has a continuous extension, still with values in Lp(G). Of course, the optimal domain depends on p and g. Whereas is compact, this is not always so for the extension of to its optimal domain. Several characterizations of precisely when this is the case are presented.  相似文献

For 2ir-periodic polynomial splines of order r, of minimal defect, with nodes at the points ktr/n, ne, there are established the sharp inequalities $$\parallel s^{(1)} \parallel _{ 2} \leqslant \frac{{\parallel \varphi _{n,r}^{(1)} \parallel _{ 2} }}{{\parallel \Delta _h^l \varphi _{n, r} \parallel _{ 2} }}\parallel \Delta _h^l s\parallel _{ 2} \leqslant \frac{{\parallel \varphi _{n,r}^{(1)} \parallel _{ 2} }}{{\parallel \varphi _{n, r} \parallel _{ 2} }}\parallel s \parallel _{ 2} , l = 1, ..., r - 1,$$ valid for 0 $$\Delta _h^l / (x) = \sum\limits_{k = 0}^l {( - 1)^k C_l^k /} (x + (l - 2k) h)$$ .  相似文献

We investigate the asymptotic properties of orthogonal polynomials for a class of inner products including the discrete Sobolev inner products $\left\langle {h,{\text{ }}g} \right\rangle = \int h g d\mu + \sum {_{j = 1}^m } \sum {_{i = 0}^{N_j } M_{j,i} h^{(i)} (c_j )} g^{(i)} (c_j )$ , where μ is a certain type of complex measure on the real line, andc j are complex numbers in the complement of supp(μ). The Sobolev orthogonal polynomials are compared with the orthogonal polynomials corresponding to the measure μ.  相似文献

Given 1 ≤ p < ∞, a compact abelian group G and a p-multiplier ${\psi : \Gamma \to {\mathbb C}}Given 1 ≤ p < ∞, a compact abelian group G and a p-multiplier y: G? \mathbb C{\psi : \Gamma \to {\mathbb C}} (with Γ the dual group), we study the optimal domain of the multiplier operator T(p)y : Lp (G) ? Lp (G){T^{(p)}_\psi : L^p (G) \to L^p (G)}. This is the largest Banach function space, denoted by L1(m(p)y){L^1(m^{(p)}_\psi)}, with order continuous norm into which L p (G) is embedded and to which T(p)y{ T^{(p)}_\psi} has a continuous L p (G)-valued extension. Compactness conditions for the optimal extension are given, as well as criteria for those ψ for which L1(m(p)y) = Lp (G){L^1(m^{(p)}_\psi) = L^p (G)} is as small as possible and also for those ψ for which L1(m(p)y) = L1 (G){L^1(m^{(p)}_\psi) = L^1 (G)} is as large as possible. Several results and examples are presented for cases when Lp (G) \subsetneqq L1(m(p)y) \subsetneqq L1 (G){L^p (G) \subsetneqq L^1(m^{(p)}_\psi) \subsetneqq L^1 (G)}.  相似文献

In Part II of our work we approach the problem discussed in Part I from the new viewpoint of canonical factorizations of a certain nth order differential operator L. The main results include:
  1. characterizations of the set of relations $$ f^{(k)} (x) = P^{(k)} (x) + o^{(k)} (x^{\alpha _n - k} ),x \to + \infty ,0 \leqslant k \leqslant n - 1, $$ where $$ P(x) = a_1 x^{\alpha _1 } + \cdots + a_n x^{\alpha _n } and \alpha _1 > \alpha _2 > \cdots > \alpha _n , $$ by means of suitable integral conditions
  2. formal differentiation of a real-power asymptotic expansion under a Tauberian condition involving the order of growth of L
  3. remarkable properties of asymptotic expansions of generalized convex functions.

We prove that for each universal algebra ${(A, \mathcal{A})}$ of cardinality ${|A| \geq 2}$ and infinite set X of cardinality ${|X| \geq | \mathcal{A}|}$ , the X-th power ${(A^{X}, \mathcal{A}^{X})}$ of the algebra ${(A, \mathcal{A})}$ contains a free subset ${\mathcal{F} \subset A^{X}}$ of cardinality ${|\mathcal{F}| = 2^{|X|}}$ . This generalizes the classical Fichtenholtz–Kantorovitch–Hausdorff result on the existence of an independent family ${\mathcal{I} \subset \mathcal{P}(X)}$ of cardinality ${|\mathcal{I}| = |\mathcal{P}(X)|}$ in the Boolean algebra ${\mathcal{P}(X)}$ of subsets of an infinite set X.  相似文献

Summary Letf n (p) be a recursive kernel estimate off (p) thepth order derivative of the probability density functionf, based on a random sample of sizen. In this paper, we provide bounds for the moments of and show that the rate of almost sure convergence of to zero isO(n −α), α<(r−p)/(2r+1), iff (r),r>p≧0, is a continuousL 2(−∞, ∞) function. Similar rate-factor is also obtained for the almost sure convergence of to zero under different conditions onf. This work was supported in part by the Research Foundation of SUNY.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider functions ${u\in W^{m,1}(0,1)}$ where m ≥ 2 and u(0) = Du(0) = · · · = D m-1 u(0) = 0. Although it is not true in general that ${\frac{D^ju(x)}{x^{m-j}} \in L^1(0,1)}$ for ${j\in \{0,1,\ldots,m-1\}}$ , we prove that ${\frac{D^ju(x)}{x^{m-j-k}} \in W^{k,1}(0,1)}$ if k ≥ 1 and 1 ≤ j + k ≤ m, with j, k integers. Furthermore, we have the following Hardy type inequality, $$\left\|{D^k\left({\frac{D^ju(x)}{x^{m-j-k}}}\right)}\right\|_{L^1(0,1)} \leq \frac {(k-1)!}{(m-j-1)!} \|{D^mu}\|_{L^1(0,1)},$$ where the constant is optimal.  相似文献
