A quarter wavelength high-Q resonator based on the well-known split-ring resonator (SRR) element in series configuration on a microstrip line is proposed in this letter. The small size is achieved by working at the quasi-static resonant frequency of the SRR. A relatively high value of unloaded-Q of 137 is achieved, which is considerably higher than other microstrip resonators like closed-loop resonators. An equivalent lumped-element circuit model for this new resonator and the ground plane influence in the unloaded-Q particle are studied. A good agreement between simulation, equivalent circuit, and experimental results is shown and discussed, leading to a simple and effective design. 相似文献

We present an expanded LC-model for nanoscale split-ring resonators (SRR), including the influence of dielectric host materials. The LC-model is experimentally verified by changing the geometry of the SRR unit cell as well as by optofluidic tuning, where the SRR samples are covered with index oil. The extended model can be used as a general guideline for metal SRR structures with arbitrary dielectric host materials. 相似文献

Effects of oblique incidence of terahertz waves on the response of planar split-ring resonators are investigated, both experimentally and by simulation. It is found that the incident angle dependent phase delay and coupling conditions of neighboring split-ring resonator(SRR) units play important roles and greatly change both the transmission and reflection spectra for the resonant feature of linear charge oscillations. Our results show that the SRR structure-supported magnetoelectric couplings at oblique excitation are trivial and can be ignored. A highly symmetric response is found in the cross-polarization effects, which may manifest the bianisotropic properties of the SRR system but this needs further study. 相似文献

基于开口谐振环(split-ring resonator, SRR)奇异的电磁特性, 设计并制备了一种覆盖C和X波段的高增益SRR-Vivaldi端射天线. 采用等效分析方法对SRR结构谐振特性进行了研究, 并将其应用于传统Vivaldi天线指数渐变槽线前方, 使SRR结构形成特殊谐振能力的引向器, 将天线表面电流集中于端射方向, 在保证天线尺寸和带宽不变的前提下, 实现了天线增益的有效提升. 仿真和测试结果表明, 新型SRR-Vivaldi天线在C波段增益平均提高75.44%, xoy面和xoz面半功率波束宽度都缩减20°以上; 在X波段增益平均提高24.46%, xoz面半功率波束宽度大约缩减25°. 该结构具有低成本、设计简单、便于加工、利于共形等优点, 为端射天线提高增益和增强定向性提供了新思路. 相似文献

AbstractThis paper presents dual-band wearable antenna using split-ring resonator (SRR). The SRR is placed near patch and feed line. SRR makes a major contribution to the first operating band (2.32 GHz), but it has a minor effect on the second operating band (3.5 GHz). The wearable antenna at 3.5 GHz (without using SRR) is also presented for comparison sake. The simulation results are analyzed and compared with the measured results, which shows that there is a good agreement between them. 相似文献

An asymmetric chiral metamaterial (CMM) circular polarizer based on bilayer twisted split-ring resonator structure was proposed and investigated. Both numerical simulations and experiments reveal that when a y-polarized wave is incident on this CMM propagating along backward (?z) direction, the two linear components of the transmitted wave have nearly equal amplitudes and 90°(?90°) phase difference at the resonant frequencies. This means that the right-hand circular polarization and left-hand circular polarization are realized in transmission at 6.4 and 8.1 GHz, respectively. The surface current distributions are studied to illustrate the transformation behavior for both circular polarizations. Further, the influences of the structural parameters of the circular polarizer to the transformation transmissions spectra have been investigated numerically. 相似文献

In this paper, we showed that split-ring resonator (SRR) pairs can be used as broadband planar left-handed metamaterials (LHMs). Simulations were carried out for one layer of infinite LHM slab using SRR pairs. The results showed that by carefully adjusting dimensions of the SRR pairs, magnetic and electric resonances can be coexistent at some frequency ranges and in the frequency range where there are both negative magnetic and electric responses, there is a broad LH band. Equivalent circuits for the magnetic and electric resonance were offered to give a qualitative and quantitative explanation of the LH behaviors of LHMs using SRR pairs. 相似文献

通过对不同开口形状的太赫兹(THz)波段共振环(SRR)的有限时域差分(FDTD)模拟,发现了SRR不同开口形状在发生共振时对开口间距的平均值具有相同的透过率频谱分布的均值效应;并且观察到了在开口边缘很尖的特殊条件下,SRR开口将出现导通现象.此结果可为今后SRR开口工艺设计与质量控制提供参考,也可为SRR工作机理的进一步分析研究提供有关的依据.

We investigate numerically the limits of the resonant magnetic response with a negative effective permeability mu(eff) for single-ring multicut split-ring resonator (SRR) designs up to optical frequencies. We find the breakdown of linear scaling due to the free electron kinetic energy for frequencies above approximately 100 THz. Above the linear scaling regime, the resonance frequency saturates, while the amplitude of the resonant permeability decreases, ultimately ceasing to reach negative value. The highest resonance frequency at which mu(eff) < 0 increases with the number of cuts in the SRR. A LC circuit model provides explanation of the numerical data. 相似文献

In this paper, an analog multiband phase shifter using slotline configuration is proposed. To implement the design, a pair of modified Split Ring Resonator (SRR) is employed. The periodic property of SRR provides multiband characteristics, whether the coupling slot gives the phase variations over the bands. The operation is well explained with an equivalent circuit model and its characteristics have been studied both in simulation and measurement. The prototype operates in 1.77–2.16, 3.5–3.97, 5.08–5.33, 6.43–6.93, and 8.01–8.59 GHz frequency bands which can be utilized for GSM, GPS, WLAN, C-band, and X-band applications, respectively. 相似文献

We report the true left-handed transmission of a composite metamaterial (CMM) consisting of periodically stacked split-ring resonator (SRR) and wire elements. The negative permeability (μ < 0) gap is demonstrated explicitly by comparing SRR and closed-ring resonator structures. We confirm experimentally that the plasma cut-off frequency of the CMM is determined by the combined dielectric response of SRR and wire elements, and it is much lower than that of the wire-only medium. This is crucial to identify the left-handed transmission bands of the CMM. We further investigate the effect of intralayer and interlayer disorder on the transmission spectrum of CMM arising from misaligned fabrication and stacking of the SRR layers. We found that the intralayer disorder affects the μ < 0 gap of SRRs and the left-handed transmission band of CMM significantly, whereas the SRR transmission is rather immune to interlayer disorder. 相似文献

ABSTRACT Changes to the structure of the organic matrix of the dentin tissue were determined after sample grinding and heating. Powder dentin measuring 25–38 µm and slices with a thickness of about 50 µm were employed. Spectra acquisition was conducted with a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer. The thermal treatment was performed between 100°C and 300°C, with steps of 25°C. After grinding, two bands (1283.5 ± 0.5 cm?1 and 1240.7 ± 0.5 cm?1) shifted to higher wavenumbers, while three bands (1339.5 ± 0.5 cm?1, 1283.5 ± 0.5 cm?1, and 1202.7 ± 0.5 cm?1) shifted to lower wavenumbers after thermal treatment in the range 100–300°C; the band at 1283.5 ± 0.5 cm?1 shifted only 2 cm?1. Thermal treatment produced a wavenumber shift in the opposite direction compared with the shift produced after grinding. The observed changes in the vibration modes of the structure indicate that sample preparation or sterilization involving grinding and heating must be carefully evaluated in order to preserve the natural characteristic of the collagen structure. 相似文献

通过理论分析和实验仿真,研究了用双环开口谐振环对(double split-ring resonator pairs,DSRRP)实现平面左手超材料的原理,用等效电路理论解释并描述了其负介电常数和负磁导率的产生机理,并对DSRRP在3维左手超材料设计的应用进行了探索性研究.结果表明,DSRRP可以实现小尺寸的平面左手超材料,此外,DSRRP还可以作为用以实现3维左手超材料负磁导率的3维各向异性磁超材料.

A planar metamaterial structure consisting of two layers of split-ring resonator (SRR) arrays is demonstrated to form the
image of a point source with subwavelength resolution. The source frequency is swept through the resonance gap of the metamaterial
layers and the lateral field intensity distribution is recorded on the transmission side of the metamaterial. When the source
is tuned to the resonance frequency of SRRs, the metamaterial acts as a high permeability medium and a distinct image with
subwavelength resolution in the lateral direction is obtained. Increasing the distance between the individual SRR layers reduces
the interlayer coupling, and the intensity and spatial resolution of the image decrease rapidly. 相似文献

On systematically investigating the electromagnetic response of periodic split-ring resonator (SRR) metamaterials as a function
of the size-to-wavelength (a/λ) ratio, we find that the stop bands due to the geometric resonances of the SRR weaken with increasing (a/λ) ratio, and are eventually replaced by stop bands due to Bragg scattering. Our study traces the behaviour of SRR-based metamaterials
as the resonance frequency increases and the wavelength of the radiation finally becomes comparable to the size of the unit
cell of the metamaterial. In the intermediate stages, the dispersion of the SRR metamaterial can still be described as due

We present theoretical and experimental results for a new design of highly symmetric, multigap split-ring resonators (SRRs), as well as for left-handed materials of a broad and high transmittance left-handed band, achieved by combining those symmetric SRRs with continuous wires. Studying in detail, both theoretically and experimentally, our proposed symmetric SRRs, we proved that they avoid the electric field excitation of the magnetic SRR resonance; thus they are appropriate for the creation of two-dimensional and three-dimensional left-handed materials. A compact dual-mode microstrip bandpass filter using square-patch resonator and a new perturbation element is designed in this letter. This new slot-type element is composed by a complement split-ring resonator (CSRR) with two pairs of etching slots. The nature of coupling between the degenerate modes is investigated with respect to the perturbation size. By proper arranging the orientations of the CSRRs, new coupling characteristics can be obtained. The proposed dual mode bandpass filters are designed, and simulated.
