We obtain a bijection between certain lattice paths and partitions. This implies a proof of polynomial identities conjectured by Melzer. In a limit, these identities reduce to Rogers-Ramanujantype identities for the 1,1 (p,p+1) (q) Virasoro characters, conjectured by the Stony Brook group.  相似文献

A translation invariant system of interacting quantum anharmonic oscillators indexed by the elements of a simple cubic lattice is considered. The anharmonic potential is of general type, which in particular means that it might have no symmetry. For this system, we prove that the global polarization (obtained in the thermodynamic limit) gets discontinuous at a certain value of the external field provided d ≥ 3, and the particle mass as well as the interaction intensity are big enough. The proof is based on the representation of local Gibbs states in terms of path measures and thereby on the use of the infrared estimates and the Garsia–Rodemich–Rumsey inequality.   相似文献

We examine the structure of the insertion–elimination Lie algebra on rooted trees introduced in Connes and Kreimer (Ann. Henri Poincar 3(3):411–433, 2002). It possesses a triangular structure , like the Heisenberg, Virasoro, and affine algebras. We show in particular that it is simple, which in turn implies that it has no finite-dimensional representations. We consider a category of lowest-weight representations, and show that irreducible representations are uniquely determined by a “lowest weight” . We show that each irreducible representation is a quotient of a Verma-type object, which is generically irreducible.   相似文献

Discretization ofp-adic Grassmann-valued -model leads to a hierarchical model with the Hamtilonian given by a nontrivial functional integral over the Grassmann variables. Using renormalization group arguments, we reduce the calculation of this integral to a functional equation. The problem of the convergence of the perturbation expansion of this integral, realized as a small-divisors problem, is investigated.  相似文献

We prove an identity between three infinite families of polynomials which are defined in terms of bosonic, fermionic, and one-dimensional configuration sums. In the limit where the polynomials become infinite series, they give different-looking expressions for the characters of the two integrable representations of the affine su(2) algebra at level one. We conjecture yet another fermionic sum representation for the polynomials which is constructed directly from the Bethe-ansatz solution of the Heisenberg spin chain.  相似文献

The vertex model at q = 0 with periodic boundary condition is an integrable cellular automaton in one-dimension. A generalization of Selberg’s beta integral involving Schur polynomials associated with partitions with entries not greater than 2 is explicitly computed. The complex version of this integral is given after proving a general statement concerning the complex extensions of Selberg–Schur integrals. All these results have interesting applications in both mathematics and physics, particularly in conformal field theory, because the conformal blocks for the Wess–Zumino–Novikov–Witten model with underlying affine structure can be obtained by analytical continuation of these integrals.   相似文献

In dilatonic cosmology model, we study the behavior of attractor solution in ωω′ plane, which is defined by the equation of state parameter for the dark energy and its derivative with respect to N (the logarithm of the scale factor a). This is a good method which is useful to the study of classifying the dynamical dark energy models including “freezing” and “thawing” model. We find that our model belongs to “freezing” type model classified in ωω′ plane. We show mathematically the property of attractor solutions which correspond to ω σ =−1, Ω σ =1. The present values of energy density parameter , and are 0.715001, 0.284972 and 0.00002706 respectively, which meet the current observations well. Finally, we can obtain that the coupling between dilaton and matter affects the evolutive process of the Universe, but not the fate of the Universe.  相似文献

We determine the structure of the partition algebraP n(Q) (a generalized Temperley-Lieb algebra) for specific values ofQ , focusing on the quotient which gives rise to the partition function ofn siteQ-state Potts models (in the continuousQ formulation) in arbitrarily high lattice dimensions (the mean field case). The algebra is nonsemisimple iffQ is a nonnegative integer less than 2n-1. A Yangian , a deformation of the universal enveloping algebra of the two-dimensional loop algebra sl(2) C [t –1,t;u], is constructed. This deformation is an analogue of a Yangian which was constructed by V. Drinfeld for any simple Lie algebra. The PBW theorem for is proved and some representations are constructed. Like usual Yangians, possesses a one-dimensional group of auto- morphisms and at zero level - a two-dimensional group of automorphisms. This observation allows one to conjecture that the representation theory of should give rise to new solutions of QYBE.Yangians of other affine algebras can be constructed similarly and they enjoy similar properties.  相似文献

Deformation quantization on varieties with singularities offers perspectives that are not found on manifolds. The Harrison component of Hochschild cohomology, vanishing on smooth manifolds, reflects information about singularities. The Harrison 2-cochains are symmetric and are interpreted in terms of abelian *-products. This paper begins a study of abelian quantization on plane curves over , being algebraic varieties of the form , where R is a polynomial in two variables; that is, abelian deformations of the coordinate algebra ). To understand the connection between the singularities of a variety and cohomology we determine the algebraic Hochschild (co)homology and its Barr–Gerstenhaber–Schack decomposition. Homology is the same for all plane curves , but the cohomology depends on the local algebra of the singularity of R at the origin. The Appendix, by Maxim Kontsevich, explains in modern mathematical language a way to calculate Hochschild and Harrison cohomology groups for algebras of functions on singular planar curves etc. based on Koszul resolutions.   相似文献

We realize the current algebra at an arbitrary level in terms of one deformed free bosonic field and a pair of deformed parafermionic fields. It is shown that the operator product expansions of these parafermionic fields involve an infinite number of simple poles and simple zeros, which then condensate to form a branch cut in the classical limitq1. The so-called ‘soldering’ procedure performed by Polyakov (Int J Math Phys A5, 833–842, 1990) for a -gauge theory is geometrically explained in terms of a Cartan connection on second-order frames of the projective space P1. The relationship between a Cartan connection and the usual (Ehresmann) connection on a principal bundle allows to gain an appropriate insight into the derivation of the genuine ‘diffeomorphisms out of gauge transformations’ given by Polyakov himself. Scaling symmetry of -type Drinfel’d–Sokolov hierarchy is investigated. Applying similarity reduction to the hierarchy, one can obtain the Schlesinger equation with (n + 1) regular singularities. Especially in the case of n = 3, the hierarchy contains the three-wave resonant system and the similarity reduction gives the generic case of the Painlevé VI equation.
