Abstract Part I of this review [1] presented an overview of the study of perturbed spectra, the formal structure of vibration-rotation energy states, the systematic determination of symmetry allowed interactions, the representation and calculation of perturbed energies, and the inverse eigenvalue problem. In this concluding part we first consider perturbation effects on transition frequency and intensity in light of the formalism of Part I. Following this we develop a formalism for fitting perturbed spectra and carry out several example cases. Following these examples, we present a real case study of a perturbed system of vibration-rotation bands that illustrates a series of nearly insuperable problems in analysis. In the process of describing the approach to analysis, much of what was presented in Part I will be made concrete. In addition, the case study should give light to a number of areas only mentioned in passing in Part I. 相似文献

In this article I have tried to give an account of x-ray crystallography as a new subject which is still rapidly expanding. Without any doubt it is an important subject because it is the main method for examining the solid state on an atomic scale. It is an absorbing subject because the fundamental problem of interpreting the experimental evidence still exists and therefore intellectual effort must be put into understanding the scientific principles as well as in deriving results. This effort is at present mainly mathematical, and many people believe that it is probable that the ultimate solution must come through mathematics. But in this article I have endeavoured to show that the subject is essentially a physical one, and have described the physical procedures that I hope will reach the winning post first! This interesting race, and the collaboration of so many other branches of science, make x-ray crystallography a most lively subject to work in. 相似文献

A polynomial expansion is proposed as a new way to discretize the Griffin-Wheeler-Hartree-Fock equations of the Generator Coordinate Hartree-Fock method. The implementation of the polynomial expansion in the Generator Coordinate Hartree-Fock method discretizes the Griffin-Wheeler-Hartree-Fock equations through a numerical mesh which is not equally spaced. This procedure makes the optimization of Gaussian exponents in the Generator Coordinate Hartree-Fock method more flexible and more efficient. The results obtained with the polynomial expansion for atomic Hartree-Fock energies show this technique is very powerful when employed in the design of compact and high accurate Gaussian basis sets used in ab initio non-relativistic (Hartree-Fock) and relativistic (Dirac-Fock) calculations. 相似文献

Within the supersymmetry scheme inchuding many-body interactions and a perturbation possessing the SO(5) (or SU(5)) symmetry on the rotational symmetry,the superdeformed (SD) bands of the nuclei in the A-80 mass region are investigated systematically.Quantitatively good results of the γ-ray energy spectra and the dynamical monents of inertia are obtained.It is shown that the supersymmetry approach is powerful to describe not only the generic rotational property,but also the characteristic of the triaxial SD band simultaneously. 相似文献

We study the effect of a force-free end on the mechanical property of a stretched biopolymer.The system can be divided into two parts.The first part consists of the segment counted from the fixed point(i.e.,the origin) to the forced point in the biopolymer,with arclength L_f.The second part consists of the segment counted from the forced point to the force-free end with arclength △L.We apply the path integral technique to find the relationship between these two parts.At finite temperature and without any constraint at the end,we show exactly that if we focus on the quantities related to the first part,then we can ignore the second part completely.Monte Carlo simulation confirms this conclusion.In contrast,the effect for the quantities related to the second part is dependent on what we want to observe.A force-free end has little effect on the relative extension,but it affects seriously the value of the end-to-end distance if △L is comparable to L_f. 相似文献
