Investigation of one-nucleon transfer reactions between complex nuclei at incident energies between 3 and 8

Angular distributions of the ground state transitions in the reactions ¹¹B(¹⁴N, ¹⁵O)¹⁰Be, ¹¹B(¹⁴N, ¹³C)¹²C, ¹²C(¹¹B, ¹²C)¹¹B and ¹³C(¹²C, ¹³C)¹²C have been measured with a magnetic spectrometer as an identification system. The first two reactions (angular momentum transfer l = 2) measured at 41, 77 and 113 MeV show a clear damping of the oscillatory structures in the angular distributions. This effect was qualitatively reproduced by DWBA calculations which take into account a recoil phase, thus showing that the damping of the structures is due to the recoil of the transferred particle on the system. The reaction ¹¹B(¹²C, ¹¹B)¹²C (l = 2) at 87 MeV with Q = 0 is well reproduced by the calculations, whereas the ¹³C(¹²C, ¹³C)¹²C reaction as the only l = 0 transition is in complete disagreement with theoretical expectations.     

A non-relativistic model for polarization

The large angle region of the pp/dπ⁺ reaction is investigated in a one pion exchange model, to explain the polarization and differential cross section in the region between 1.13–1.41 GeV/c incident proton momentum.     

Average charged particle multiplicity and topological cross sections in and pp interactions: Collaboration France-Soviet Union

In an exposure of the chamber Mirabelle at the Serpukhov accelerator, 1 943 interactions at 50 GeV/c and 8 959 at 69 GeV/c have been observed. Topological cross sections and charged multiplicity distributions are presented. The average charged multiplicities found are respectively 5.32 ± 0.13 and 5.89 ± 0.07.     

Magnetization of strong-coupling superconductors for which

The unsual magnetic and calorimetric behavior of a Pb + 2 per cent. In alloy found by Ehrat and Rinderer is explained in terms of a recent theory for K₂(t) of strong-coupling superconductors.     

four-body break-up and states in Be

The four-body break-up d+¹¹B → α+n reaction has been studied by simultaneous detection of α-α and α-n coincidences at two bombarding energies, 10.425 and 12.0 MeV, in order to obtain information about the decay properties of the excited states in ⁹Be. Measured spectra reveal the importance of sequential decay mechanisms in the reaction. The decay structure of low-lying levels in ⁹Be has been discussed.
