In a recent publication (see title), it was proposed that—instead of the average macroscopic electric field—one should use the local or LORENTZ field inside dielectrics to calculate high-field ionic drift mobilities. This incorrect proposition seems now to start circulating even though it has been clearly shown in the past that the standard equations for ionic conduction in solids are by no way subject to any corrections for local or LORENTZ field effects. It is thus worth to recall some basic assumptions with regard to ion migration in crystalline solids. We believe that the clarification of this issue is of great importance for the large and still growing community of researchers dealing with resistive switching and memristive effects.  相似文献

Recently, S. Aggarwal et al. [Chin. Phys. B 24(2015) 053201] reported energy levels, radiative rates, and lifetimes for the lowest 148 levels belonging to the 3s23 p, 3s3p2, 3s23 d, 3s3p3 d, 3p3, 3p23 d, 3s3d2, 3p3d2, and 3d3 configurations of Al-like tungsten. While their calculated energies for the levels and the radiative rates for transitions are correct, the reported results for lifetimes are completely wrong. According to our calculations, errors in their reported lifetimes are up to 14 orders of magnitude for over 90% of the levels. Here we report the correct lifetimes and explain the reasons for discrepancies.  相似文献

Nonequilibrium phase transitions are characterized by the so-called critical exponents, each of which is related to a different observable. Systems that share the same set of values for these exponents also share the same universality class. Thus, it is important that the exponents are named and treated in a standardized framework. In this comment, we reinterpret the exponents obtained by Teixeira et al. [1] for the logistic and cubic maps in order to correctly state the universality class of their bifurcations, since these maps may describe the mean-field solution of stochastic spreading processes.  相似文献

(Appl Phys B 105:81, 2011) have recently presented a general direct solution of the integral equation for the electric field inside the scatterer, which does not require inversion of integral operator or, equivalently, solution of large system of linear equations. This paper aims to prove the inaccuracy of the Navier solution presented by Aghababaei and Reddy [1] for the bending analysis of nanoplates based on the nonlocal theory of Eringen. According to the derived relations for bending of the nonlocal plate model, the main cause of this inaccuracy is attributed to an incorrect approximation of the Navier solution for a uniform transverse load. Of course, this problem does not inherently occur for the Navier solution in cases such as free vibration or the buckling of a nonlocal plate model in which the amount of transverse load is zero. In order to obtain further verification the results reported based on the Navier solution by Aghababaei and Reddy (2009, [1]) for the bending analysis of a nanoplate are compared with those computed by the differential quadrature (DQ) and finite difference (FD) methods. As shown, the results obtained by both the FD and DQ methods are consistently alike and unlike the solutions reported by Aghababaei and Reddy (2009, [1]) they are independent from small scale effect.  相似文献

Dusty plasmas exist almost everywhere in the Universe and relevant nonlinear studies are encouragingly going to non-planar geometry. On our recent construction of a spherical Kadomtsev–Petviashvili model for the dust-ion-acoustic waves in a cosmic dusty plasma [B. Tian, Y.-T. Gao, Phys. Lett. A 340 (2005) 243], Hong [W.P. Hong, Phys. Lett. A (2006), doi:10.1016/j.physleta.2006.11.021, in press] comments that certain interesting coordinate transformations exist, with presentation of a transformed equation (TE) and nebulon solutions. In this Reply, we point out that the TE is valuable to the studies on both cosmic plasmas and applied mathematics. We obtain an auto-Bäcklund transformation on the TE and more general nebulons. With series of pictures, we discuss nebulon structures out of the TE, and address that there are cosmic plasma systems for which the TE is valid. We remove a constraint set in that Comment so that the TE can be useful for the Saturn-F-ring-typed dusty plasmas as well.  相似文献
