Euryale ferox is native to Southeast Asia and China, and it is one of the important aquatic food crops propagated mostly in eastern part of India. The aim of the present study was to characterize and evaluate the genetic diversity of ex situ collections of E. ferox germplasm from different geographical states of India using microsatellite (simple sequence repeats (SSRs)) markers. Ten SSR markers were analyzed to assess DNA fingerprinting and genetic diversity of 16 cultivated germplasm of E. ferox. Total 37 polymorphic alleles were recorded with an average of 3.7 allele frequency per primer. The polymorphic information content value varied from 0.204 to 0.735 with mean of 0.448. A high range of heterozygosity (Ho 0.228; He 0.512) was detected in the present study. The neighbor-joining (N-J) tree and the principle coordinate analysis showed that the germplasm divided in to three main clusters. The results of the present investigation comply that SSR markers are effective for computing genetic assessment of genetic diversity and similarity with classifying cultivated varieties of E. ferox. Evaluation of genetic diversity among Indian E. ferox germplasm could provide useful information for genetic improvement.  相似文献

The correct recognition of sweet orange (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) variety accessions at the nursery stage of growth is a challenge for the productive sector as they do not show any difference in phenotype traits. Furthermore, there is no DNA marker able to distinguish orange accessions within a variety due to their narrow genetic trace. As different combinations of canopy and rootstock affect the uptake of elements from soil, each accession features a typical elemental concentration in the leaves. Thus, the main aim of this work was to analyze two sets of ten different accessions of very close genetic characters of three varieties of fresh citrus leaves at the nursery stage of growth by measuring the differences in elemental concentration by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). The accessions were discriminated by both principal component analysis (PCA) and a classifier based on the combination of classification via regression (CVR) and partial least square regression (PLSR) models, which used the elemental concentrations measured by LIBS as input data. A correct classification of 95.1% and 80.96% was achieved, respectively, for set 1 and set 2. These results showed that LIBS is a valuable technique to discriminate among citrus accessions, which can be applied in the productive sector as an excellent cost–benefit tool in citrus breeding programs.  相似文献

For the d(0) complex [{Zr(CpSiMe(2)H)Cl(3)}(2)] which contains a linear Si-H···Zr interaction across the dimer, DFT calculations are in good agreement with X-ray structures. The BP86 functional shows a slightly stronger interaction than B3LYP but for qualitative purposes either functional is sufficient. QTAIM analysis shows a bond critical point (bcp) for the interaction, a small negative value for the total energy density [H((r))] and the H atomic basin decreases in energy, E(H), and atomic volume compared to the free ligand. NBO analysis showed E(2) for Si-H σ to Zr(dz(2)) donation at 42.8 kcal mol(-1) and a 34% spatial overlap for the interaction consistent with an inverse hydrogen bond. The Wiberg bond index for the interaction is 0.1735 (0.7205 for the Si-H bond), ν((Si-H)) and (1)J((Si-H)) at 2060 cm(-1) and 145.4 Hz compared to 2183 cm(-1) and 172.1 Hz in the free ligand. Using a "synthesis by computation" approach to forming like complexes, similar features were found for [{Hf(CpSiMe(2)H)Cl(3)}(2)]. The titanium complex [{Ti(CpSiMe(2)H)Cl(3)}(2)] does not contain any Si-H···Ti interaction as rotation about the C-Si bond of the ligand occurs to place the Si-H bond hydrogen closer to a terminal chloro ligand across the dimer. An increase in electron density on the metal in the d(2) complex [{Mo(CpSiMe(2)H)Cl(3)}(2)] results in a stronger interaction with a distinct QTAIM analysis bcp [ρ((r)) 0.0448 a.u.], a small negative value for H((r)) and a much reduced H atomic volume. NBO analysis shows E(2) for Si-H σ to Mo(dz(2)) donation at 143.1 kcal mol(-1) and a 29% spatial overlap. Mo(dz(2)) to Si-H σ* donation (back donation) is minimal [E(2) 1.3 kcal mol(-1), ~1% spatial overlap]. The Wiberg bond index is 0.3114 (0.5667 for the Si-H bond), ν((Si-H)) 2015 cm(-1) and (1)J((Si-H)) 120.6 Hz.  相似文献

Garlic (Allium sativum) is the second most important Allium crop that has been used as a vegetable and condiment from ancient times due to its characteristic flavor and taste. Although garlic is a sterile plant that reproduces vegetatively through cloves, garlic shows high biodiversity, as well as phenotypic plasticity and environmental adaptation capacity. To determine the possible mechanism underlying this phenomenon and to provide new genetic materials for the development of a novel garlic cultivar with useful agronomic traits, the metabolic profiles in the leaf tissue of 30 garlic accessions collected from different geographical regions, with a special focus on the Asian region, were investigated using LC/MS. In addition, the total saponin and fructan contents in the roots and cloves of the investigated garlic accessions were also evaluated. Total saponin and fructan contents did not separate the garlic accessions based on their geographical origin, implying that saponin and fructan contents were clone-specific and agroclimatic changes have affected the quantitative and qualitative levels of saponins in garlic over a long history of cultivation. Principal component analysis (PCA) and dendrogram clustering of the LC/MS-based metabolite profiling showed two major clusters. Specifically, many Japanese and Central Asia accessions were grouped in cluster I and showed high accumulations of flavonol glucosides, alliin, and methiin. On the other hand, garlic accessions grouped in cluster II exhibited a high accumulation of anthocyanin glucosides and amino acids. Although most of the accessions were not separated based on country of origin, the Central Asia accessions were clustered in one group, implying that these accessions exhibited distinct metabolic profiles. The present study provides useful information that can be used for germplasm selection and the development of new garlic varieties with beneficial biotic and abiotic stress-adaptive traits.  相似文献

The leaves of Hibiscus sabdariffa L. have been used as traditional folk medicines for treating high blood pressure and fever. There are many accessions of H. sabdariffa L. throughout the world. To assess the chemical variations of 31 different accessions of H. sabdariffa L., fingerprinting analysis and quantitation of major flavonoids were performed by high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The HPLC method was validated for linearity, sensitivity, precision, repeatability and accuracy. A quadrupole‐time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (Q‐TOF‐MS) was applied for the characterization of major compounds. A total of 9 compounds were identified, including 6 flavonoids and 3 phenolic acids. In the fingerprint analysis, similarity analysis (SA) and principal component analysis (PCA) were used to differentiate the 31 accessions of H. sabdariffa L. Based on the results of PCA and SA, the samples No. 15 and 19 appeared much different from the main group. The total content of five flavonoids varied greatly among different accessions, ranging from 3.35 to 23.30 mg/g. Rutin was found to be the dominant compound and the content of rutin could contribute to chemical variations among different accessions. This study was helpful to understand the chemical variations between different accessions of H. sabdariffa L., which could be used for quality control. © 2015 The Authors Biomedical Chromatography Published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.  相似文献

A box-counting-based algorithm (SEBC) has been developed for the numerical computation of the Shannon entropy from samples of continuous functions. Its performance was tested by applying it to several samples of known continuous distribution functions. The results obtained with SEBC reproduced those obtained by analytical or numerical integration. SEBC was also employed for computing the Shannon entropies of the steric energy, Sh(E(S)), of several amino acids from their in vacuo NVE molecular dynamics simulations using the AMBER-4 force field. The results obtained correlate linearly with the experimental standard thermodynamic entropies of these compounds. This work points to the possibility of introducing straightforward and reliable calculations of thermodynamic entropies from empirical linear relationships with Sh(E(S)) obtained from MD simulations.  相似文献

Infinite dilution gas-liquid chromatographic activity coefficients (gamma) and excess thermodynamic molar partial magnitudes [Gibbs energy (G(E)), enthalpy (H(E)), and entropy (S(E))] for 37 solutes of varied polarity on four stationary phases with -NH groups are obtained from partition coefficients taken from literature. Relationships between G(E) and S(E) with the 37 solutes' structure in terms of the molecular connectivity index ((1)chi(v)) are investigated. Correlations of solute-solvent interactions calculated in light of the solvation parameter model for selected solutes and stationary phases are tested. The effect of the solute's structure, expressed as the molecular connectivity index, on the nonpolar (cavity formation and dispersion interaction) [c+l. log L(16)] and the effect of the dipole moment and of the activity coefficient on the dipolarity-polarizability interaction (spi(2)(H)) are studied. The correlation between the nonpolar interaction with the athermal activity coefficient on the nonpolymeric stationary phases is also attempted. In addition, the influence of the stationary phase polarity on the solute-stationary phase interactions for a series of solutes is studied.  相似文献

The reduction potentials (E°(Red) versus SHE) of hypercloso boron hydrides B(n)H(n) (n = 6-13) and B(12)X(12) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) in water have been computed using the Conductor-like Polarizable Continuum Model (CPCM) and the Solvation Model Density (SMD) method for solvation modeling. The B3LYP/aug-cc-pvtz and M06-2X/aug-cc-pvtz as well as G4 level of theory were applied to determine the free energies of the first and second electron attachment (ΔG(E.A.)) to boron clusters. The solvation free energies (ΔG(solv)) greatly depend on the choice of the cavity set (UAKS, Pauling, or SMD) while the dependence on the choice of exchange/correlation functional is modest. The SMD cavity set gives the largest ΔΔG(solv) for B(n)H(n)(0/-) and B(n)H(n)(-/2-) while the UAKS cavity set gives the smallest ΔΔG(solv) value. The E°(Red) of B(n)H(n)(-/2-) (n = 6-12) with the G4/M06-2X(Pauling) (energy/solvation(cavity)) combination agrees within 0.2 V of experimental values. The experimental oxidative stability (E(1/2)) of B(n)X(n)(2-) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) is usually located between the values predicted using the B3LYP and M06-2X functionals. The disproportionation free energies (ΔG(dpro)) of 2B(n)H(n)(-) → B(n)H(n) + B(n)H(n)(2-) reveal that the stabilities of B(n)H(n)(-) (n = 6-13) to disproportionation decrease in the order B(8)H(8)(-) > B(9)H(9)(-) > B(11)H(11)(-) > B(10)H(10)(-). The spin densities in B(12)X(12)(-) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) tend to delocalize on the boron atoms rather than on the exterior functional groups. The partitioning of ΔG(solv)(B(n)H(n)(2-)) over spheres allows a rationalization of the nonlinear correlation between ΔG(E.A.) and E°(Red) for B(6)H(6)(-/2-), B(11)H(11)(-/2-), and B(13)H(13)(-/2-).  相似文献

Secondary metabolites are essential for plant survival and reproduction. Wild undomesticated and tropical plants are expected to harbor highly diverse metabolomes. We investigated the metabolomic diversity of two morphologically similar trees of tropical Africa, Erythrophleum suaveolens and E. ivorense, known for particular secondary metabolites named the cassaine-type diterpenoids. To assess how the metabolome varies between and within species, we sampled leaves from individuals of different geographic origins but grown from seeds in a common garden in Cameroon. Metabolites were analyzed using reversed phase LC-HRMS(/MS). Data were interpreted by untargeted metabolomics and molecular networks based on MS/MS data. Multivariate analyses enabled us to cluster samples based on species but also on geographic origins. We identified the structures of 28 cassaine-type diterpenoids among which 19 were new, 10 were largely specific to E. ivorense and five to E. suaveolens. Our results showed that the metabolome allows an unequivocal distinction of morphologically-close species, suggesting the potential of metabolite fingerprinting for these species. Plant geographic origin had a significant influence on relative concentrations of metabolites with variations up to eight (suaveolens) and 30 times (ivorense) between origins of the same species. This shows that the metabolome is strongly influenced by the geographical origin of plants (i.e., genetic factors).  相似文献

In this work, 3,3′-(((1E,1′E)-(H,12H-5,11-methanodibenzo[b,f][1,5]diazocine-2,8-diyl)bis(ethene-2,1-diyl))bis(1,1-dimethyl-1H-benzo[e]indole-3-ium-2,3-diyl))bis(propane-1-sulfonate) (1), 3,3’-(((1E,1′E)-(6H,12H-5,11-methanodibenzo[b,f][1,5]diazocine-2,8-diyl)bis(ethene-2,1-diyl))bis(3,3-dimethyl-3H-indole-1-ium-2,1-diyl))bis(propane-1-sulfonate) (2), 2,2’-((1E,1′E)-(6H,12H-5,11-methanodibenzo[b,f][1,5]diazocine-2,8-diyl)bis(ethene-2,1-diyl))bis(1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indol-1-ium) iodide (3) and 2,2’-((1E,1′E)-(6H,12H-5,11-methanodibenzo[b,f][1,5]diazocine-2,8-diyl)bis(ethene-2,1-diyl))bis(1,1,3-trimethyl-1H-benzo[e]indol-3-ium) iodide (4) were designed and synthesized by ethylene bridging of the N-substituted indolium salts and the Tröger’s Base (TB) framework. The probes exhibited a longer absorption and emission wavelength and the emission wavelength of them in dichloromethane (DCM) was more than 600 nm, performed a red fluorescence. All of the probes could work on the extreme acidic and the extreme alkaline environments and showed a good liner response in the working pH range. Especially, 2 and 4 were soluble in water and manifested a good pH sensing in a water system. Also, 1H NMR analysis illustrated how these dyes worked as the pH-sensitive fluorescence probes. In addition, they performed excellent reversibility, high selectivity and good photostability.  相似文献

In O(2)-evolving complex Photosystem II (PSII), an unimpeded transfer of electrons from the primary quinone (Q(A)) to the secondary quinone (Q(B)) is essential for the efficiency of photosynthesis. Recent PSII crystal structures revealed the protein environment of the Q(A/B) binding sites. We calculated the plastoquinone (Q(A/B)) redox potentials (E(m)) for one-electron reduction with a full account of the PSII protein environment. We found two different H-bond patterns involving Q(A) and D2-Thr217, resulting in an upshift of E(m)(Q(A)) by 100 mV if the H bond between Q(A) and Thr is present. The formation of this H bond to Q(A) may be the origin of a photoprotection mechanism, which is under debate. At the Q(B) side, the formation of a H bond between D2-Ser264 and Q(B) depends on the protonation state of D1-His252. Q(B) adopts the high-potential form if the H bond to Ser is present. Conservation of this residue and H-bond pattern for Q(B) sites among bacterial photosynthetic reaction centers (bRC) and PSII strongly indicates their essential requirement for electron transfer function.  相似文献

The prototype hetero-binuclear complexes containing metal-metal bonds, {CpRh[E2C2(B10H10)]}[Fe(CO)3] (Cp = Cp* = eta 5-Me5C5, E = S(5a), Se(5b); Cp = Cp = eta 5-1,3-tBu2C5H3, E = S(6a), Se(6b)) and {CpCo[E2C2(B10H10)]}[Fe(CO)3] (Cp = Cp* = eta 5-Me5C5, E = S(7a), Se(7b); Cp = Cp = eta 5-C5H5, E = S(8a), Se(8b)) were obtained from the reactions of 16-electron complexes CpRh[E2C2(B10H10)] (Cp = Cp*, E = S(1a), Se(1b); Cp = Cp, E = S(2a), Se(2b)), CpCo[E2C2(B10H10)] (Cp = Cp*, E = S(3a), Se(3b); Cp = Cp, E = S(4a), Se(4b)) with Fe(CO)5 in the presence of Me3NO. The molecular structures of {Cp*Rh[E2C2(B10H10)]}[Fe(CO)3] (E = S(5a), Se(5b)), {CpRh[S2C2(B10H10)]}[Fe(CO)3] (6a) {Cp*Co[S2C2(B10H10)]}[Fe(CO)3] (7a) and {CpCo[S2C2(B10H10)]}[Fe(CO)3] (8a) have been determined by X-ray crystallography. All these complexes were characterized by elemental analysis and IR and NMR spectra.  相似文献

The number of water molecules in the inner-sphere (N(H2O)) was determined for Eu(III) and the strength of ligand field (R(E/M)) was evaluated for a variety of coordination environments from the luminescence lifetime and the relative intensity at 615 nm and at 592 nm, by time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. When R(E/M) and deltaN(H2O) for Eu(III) with a known coordination environment were plotted clear regularity was apparent between the location of the R(E/M)-deltaN(H2O) plot and the coordination environment of Eu(III). Here, deltaN(H2O) was calculated by use of the equation, deltaN(H2O)=9-N(H2O). Unknown coordination environments of Eu(III) can, in turn, be characterized, including both the inner- and the outer-sphere, simply by plotting R(E/M) and deltaN(H2O) for Eu(III) on the diagram. This empirical method is effective for prediction of the coordination environment of hydrated and complexed Eu(III) in solutions and that of the adsorbed Eu(III) on ion-exchange resins and by microorganisms.  相似文献

Herein, a series of separate dynamic (1)H NMR effects are reported at different temperatures within a particular enaminoester involving a phenanthridine. These effects are attributed to restricted rotation around the two single bonds such as carbon-carbon (H(a)-C-C-H(b)) and nitrogen-carbon (NCCOOCH(3)). Activation energies (E(a)) for these interconversion processes in their rotational isomers are equal to 20 and 20 ± 1 kJ mol(-1), respectively. In addition, three dynamic (1)H NMR effects are investigated at different temperatures for a particular phosphorus ylide involving a 2-indolinone around the carbon-carbon single bond (H-C-C-PPh(3)) within the two Z- and E-rotational isomers and partial carbon-carbon double bond (OCH(3)-C=C-PPh(3)). Activation energies (E(a)) for these interconversion processes in rotational isomers are equal to 53, 63 and 73 ± 1 kJ mol(-1) , respectively. This behavior was also observed for other phosphorus ylide containing 2-mercaptobenzoxazole around the carbon-carbon single bond and partial carbon-carbon double bond with their relevant activation energies containing 13, 10 and 75 ± 1 kJ mol(-1), respectively.  相似文献

1, 1'-(3-Oxapentamethylene)dicyclopentadiene [O(CH(2)CH(2)C(5)H(5))(2)], containing a flexible chain-bridged group, was synthesized by the reaction of sodium cyclopentadienide with bis(2-chloroethyl) ether through a slightly modified literature procedure. Furthermore, the binuclear cobalt(III) complex O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Co(CO)I(2)](2) and insoluble polynuclear rhodium(III) complex {O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))RhI(2)](2)}(n) were obtained from reactions of with the corresponding metal fragments and they react easily with PPh(3) to give binuclear metal complexes, O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Co(PPh(3))I(2)](2) and O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Rh(PPh(3))I(2)](2), respectively. Complexes react with bidentate dilithium dichalcogenolato ortho-carborane to give eight binuclear half-sandwich ortho-carboranedichalcogenolato cobalt(III) and rhodium(III) complexes O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Co(PPh(3))(E(2)C(2)B(10)H(10))](2) (E = S and Se), O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))](2)Co(2)(E(2)C(2)B(10)H(10)) (E = S and Se), O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Co(E(2)C(2)B(10)H(10))](2) (E = S and Se and O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Rh(PPh(3))(E(2)C(2)B(10)H(10))](2) (E = S and Se). All complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, NMR spectra ((1)H, (13)C, (31)P and (11)B NMR) and IR spectroscopy. 应用量子化学从头算HF/3-21G方法得到了14种脂肪醇分子的优势构象,利用HF/3-21G法和分子图形学技术获得其电子结构、几何结构参数和连接性指数,并将这些参数与脂肪醇对番茄和红蜘蛛的毒性相关联.结果表明,脂肪醇对番茄的生物毒性与一阶分子连接性指数1X和羟基电荷QOH之间存在良好的二元线性相关性,而脂肪醇对红蜘蛛的生物毒性与一阶分子连接性指数1X和分子最高已占轨道能EH之间存在良好的二元线性相关性,成功地建立脂肪醇对番茄和红蜘蛛毒性的构效关系式.  相似文献

The quantification of inductive (I), resonance (R), and through-space (TS) effects of a variety of substituents (X) in cation-π interactions of the type C?H?X···Na? is achieved by modeling C?H?-(Φ?)(n)-X···Na? (1), C?H?-(Φ?)(n)-X···Na? (2), C?H?-(Φ(2perpendicular))(n)-X···Na? (2'), and C?H? ···HX···Na? (3), where Φ? = -CH?CH?-, Φ? = -CHCH-, Φ(2perpendicular) indicates that Φ? is perpendicular to the plane of C?H?, and n = 1-5. The cation-π interaction energies of 1, 2, 2', and 3, relative to X = H and fitted to polynomial equations in n have been used to extract the substituent effect E?1, E?2, E?(2'), and E?3 for n = 0, the C?H?X···Na? systems. E?1 is made up of inductive (E(I)) and through-space (E(TS)) effects while the difference (E?2 - E?(2')) is purely resonance (E(R)) and E?3 is attributed to the TS contribution (E(TS)) of the X. The total interaction energy of C?H?X···Na? is nearly equal to the sum of E(I), E(R), and E(TS), which brings out the unified view of cation-π interaction in terms of I, R, and TS effects. The electron-withdrawing substituents contribute largely by TS effect, whereas the electron-donating substituents contribute mainly by resonance effect to the total cation-π interaction energy.  相似文献

Syntheses and characterizations are reported for dimolybdenum(II) compounds supported by the diarylformamidinate (ArNC(H)NAr(-)) ligand, where Ar is XC(6)H(4)(-), with X as p-OMe (1), H (2), m-OMe (3), p-Cl (4), m-Cl (5), m-CF(3) (6), p-COMe (7), p-CF(3) (8), or Ar is 3,4-Cl(2)C(6)H(3)(-) (9) or 3,5-Cl(2)C(6)H(3)(-) (10). The (quasi)reversible oxidation potentials measured for the Mo(2)(5+)/Mo(2)(4+) couple were found to correlate with the Hammett constant (sigma(X)) of the aryl substituents according to the following equation: DeltaE(1/2) = E(1/2)(X) - E(1/2)(H) = 87(8sigma(X)) mV. Molecular structure determinations of compounds 1, 2, 5, and 10 revealed an invariant core geometry around the Mo(2) center, with statistically identical Mo-Mo quadruple bond lengths of 2.0964(5), 2.0949[8], 2.0958(6), and 2.0965(5) ?, respectively. Magnetic anisotropies for compounds 1-10 estimated on the basis of (1)H NMR data were similar and unrelated to sigma(X). Similarity in UV-vis spectra was also found within the series, which, in conjunction with the features of both molecular structures and (1)H NMR spectra, was interpreted as the existence of a constant upper valence structure across the series. Results of Fenske-Hall calculations performed for several model compounds paralleled the experimental observations.  相似文献

We present the results of a time-dependent quantum mechanical investigation using centrifugal sudden approximation in the form of reaction probability as a function of collision energy (E(trans)) in the range 0.3-3.0 eV for a range of total angular momentum (J) values and the excitation function sigma(E(trans)) for the exchange reaction H(-) + H(2) (v = 0, j = 0) --> H(2) + H(-) and its isotopic variants in three dimensions on an accurate ab initio potential energy surface published recently (J. Chem. Phys. 2004, 121, 9343). The excitation function results are shown to be in excellent agreement with those obtained from crossed beam measurements by Zimmer and Linder for H(-) + D(2) collisions for energies below the threshold for electron detachment channel and somewhat larger than the most recent results of Haufler et al. for (H(-), D(2)) and (D(-), H(2)) collisions.  相似文献

A combined experimental and theoretical study of the paramagnetic [Co(II)(C12H20N8)(H2O)2] x 2 ClO4 complex was made on the basis of the electron density distribution and topological analysis. Accurate single-crystal diffraction data were measured on a suitable crystal with Mo(K alpha) radiation at 125 K. The CoII ion is coordinated in a square bipyramidal fashion with four imino nitrogen atoms at the equatorial plane and two water molecules at the axial positions. The hydrogen-bonding interaction at 125 K between the coordinated water molecule and the ClO(4)(-) ion makes the space group different from that at 298 K. Parallel MO calculations were made at UHF and DFT/UB3LYP. The agreement between experiment and theory is reasonably good. The chemical bonding characterization is presented in terms of the topological properties associated with bond critical points and the natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis as well. The Co-N(imino) and Co-O(water) bonds are dative bonds, where the lone-pair electrons of N or O serve as a -donor; however, a certain covalent character is identified in the Co-N(imino) bond. A delocalized C-N, N-N pi-bond model is proposed. The d-orbital energies of Co in this complex are such that E(d(xz)) is approximately equal to E(d(yz)) is approximately equal to E(dx(2-y2)) < E(d(z2)) < E(d(xy)); notice that d(xy) and d(z2) are d(sigma) orbitals in this case. The Co(II) ion is in a low-spin d7 state with the singly occupied d(z2) orbital. The asphericity in electron density at Co and Cl nuclei is nicely demonstrated by the Laplacian of electron density. The envelope plot of the isovalue Laplacian surface around the nucleus gives the exact shape of such asphericity. The isovalue Laplacian surfaces of these two nuclei show significantly different VSCC character in both experimental and theoretical results.  相似文献
