The dynamic stability properties of a pre-stressed incompressible elastic plate are studied in this paper with respect to perturbations in the form of one near-neutral mode and two non-neutral modes interacting resonantly. The pre-stresses are assumed to be an all-round pressure. The static equilibrium of an elastic orthotropic medium with an elliptic crack subject, on its surface, to linearly varying
pressure is studied. The stress state of the elastic medium is represented as a superposition of the principal and perturbed
states. Use is made of Willis’ approach based on the triple Fourier transform in spatial variables, the Fourier-transformed
Green’s function for an anisotropic material, and Cauchy’s residue theorem. The contour integrals are evaluated using Gaussian
quadratures. The results for particular cases are compared with those obtained by other authors. The influence of orthotropy
on the stress intensity factors is studied

Summary An infinite plate containing an elliptic subregion in which a uniform eigencurvature is prescribed is analyzed. The problem
is formulated by using the classical plate theory. Employing the Maysel's relation, an integral-type solution to the equilibrium
equation is expressed in terms of the eigencurvature. Closed-form solutions of the displacement and corresponding resultant
moment are obtained for interior points as well as for exterior points of the ellipse. An infinite plate containing an elliptic
inhomogeneity in which a uniform eigencurvature is prescribed is also considered. The disturbance of the displacement and
corresponding resultant moment due to the inhomogeneity is determined by the equivalent eigencurvature method. Solutions of
a circular finite plate with uniform eigencurvature in a circular zone are also obtained analytically.

A closed series solution is proposed for the bending of point-supported orthotropic rectangular thin plates. The positions of support points and the distribution of transverse load are arbitrary. If the number of simply supported points gradually increases the solution can infinitely approach to Navier's solution. The action of external periodic pressure on an elastic plate floating on the surface of a fluid assumed to be ideal and incompressible
is examined by the method of normal modes in the linear formulation. The behavior of the matrix of coefficients of the hydrodynamic

is compared for the cases of a heavy fluid with a finite or infinite depth and for a weightless infinite-depth fluid.

The exploration in this work is how to minimize the stress concentration around the edge of the hole in an orthotropic plate. The study first presents the analytical solution of the stress distribution around arbitrary holes using the complex variable method and then carries out the shape optimization using the mixed penalty function method. In the optimization process, optimal holes and stress distributions under the different factors are investigated, i.e., the loading, the Young’s modulus, and the fiber direction. Finally, we come to the conclusion that in the biaxial compressive load state, the shape and the stress are mainly affected by the loading, followed by the fiber direction and the Young’s modulus. In the pure shear condition, all three factors determine the optimum results. 相似文献
