GLOBAL EXISTENCE FOR NONLINEAR PARABOLIC EQUATIONS

ACCELERATION METHODS OF NONLINEAR ITERATION FOR NONLINEAR PARABOLIC EQUATIONS

This paper discusses the accelerating of nonlinear parabolic equations. Two iterative methods for solving the implicit scheme new nonlinear iterative methods named by the implicit-explicit quasi-Newton （IEQN） method and the derivative free implicit-explicit quasi-Newton （DFIEQN） method are introduced, in which the resulting linear equations from the linearization can preserve the parabolic characteristics of the original partial differential equations. It is proved that the iterative sequence of the iteration method can converge to the solution of the implicit scheme quadratically. Moreover, compared with the Jacobian Free Newton-Krylov （JFNK） method, the DFIEQN method has some advantages, e.g., its implementation is easy, and it gives a linear algebraic system with an explicit coefficient matrix, so that the linear （inner） iteration is not restricted to the Krylov method. Computational results by the IEQN, DFIEQN, JFNK and Picard iteration methods are presented in confirmation of the theory and comparison of the performance of these methods.

ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OF THE NONLINEAR PARABOLIC EQUATIONS

This paper is concerned with the large time behavior for solutions of the nonlinear parabolic equations in whole spaces R^n. The spectral decomposition methods of Laplace operator are applied and it is proved that if the initial data u0∈ L^2 ∩ L^r for 1 ≤ r ≤ 2, then the solutions decay in L^2 norm at t^-n/2(1/r-1/2). The decay rates are optimal in the sense that they coincide with the decay rates of the solutions to the heat equations with the same initial data.

A BLOW-UP RESULT FOR A CLASS DOUBLY NONLINEAR PARABOLIC EQUATIONS WITH VARIABLE-EXPONENT NONLINEARITIES

This paper deals with the following doubly nonlinear parabolic equations(u + |u|~(r(x)-2)u)t-div(|?u|~(m(x)-2)?u) = |u|~(p(x)-2)u, where the exponents of nonlinearity r(x), m(x) and p(x) are given functions. Under some appropriate assumptions on the exponents of nonlinearity, and with certain initial data, a blow-up result is established with positive initial energy.     

BLOW-UP RATE OF POSITIVE SOLUTION OF UNIFORMLY PARABOLIC EQUATIONS WITH NONLINEAR BOUNDARY CONDITIONS

This paper deals with the blow-up of positive solutions of the uniformly pa-rabolic equations ut = Lu + a(x)f(u) subject to nonlinear Neumann boundary conditions . Under suitable assumptions on nonlinear functi-ons f, g and initial data U0(x), the blow-up of the solutions in a finite time is proved by the maximum principles. Moreover, the bounds of "blow-up time" and blow-up rate are obtained.

强单调对称非线性方程组的BFGS算法

提出一种求解强单调非线性方程组的BFGS算法,该算法的一个明显优点是Bκ的条件数比Li-Fukushima^[3]提出的GNBFGS中Bκ的条件数小得多。且该算法是一种无需计算导数的下降算法。在一定的条件下,证明了算法的全局收敛性和超线性收敛性。最后进行数值试验,结果表明,本文算法具有较好的数值结果。而且验证了本文所提出的算法中Bκ的条件数要比GNBFGS算法的条件数小得多。

CONVERGENCE RATES FOR DIFFERENCE SCHEMES FOR POLYHEDRAL NONLINEAR PARABOLIC EQUATIONS

We build finite difference schemes for a class of fully nonlinear parabolic equations. The schemes are polyhedral and grid aligned. While this is a restrictive class of schemes, a wide class of equations are well approximated by equations from this class. For regular （C2,α） solutions of uniformly parabolic equations, we also establish of convergence rate of O（α）. A case study along with supporting numerical results is included.
